This is not the soundtrack, this is a playlist I made comprised of songs that reminded me of or felt like the story. Some show up in the final, some don't. A lot of these are actually cut! But that doesn't make them feel any less like Wandering Star to me.
Go ahead and give a listen: YouTube | Spotify
Track list below the cut!
True Colors - Richie Kohan, Faux Fix {YouTube Playlist Only} Main trailer music; feels so much like Wandering Star it hurts.
When It's Cold I'd Like to Die - Moby Feels just so vividly like Carmen and her story. Really wish I could convey how much.
This Is War - 30 Seconds to Mars I have a bitchin' amv in my head for this one.
Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea - MISSIO Stripped version used in episode 3.
Put Your Head On My Shoulder - Paul Anka Actually used for a scene in the camp!
Some Things Last a Long Time - Lizzie Grant/Daniel Johnston Couldn't decide which version to put on the playlist so one is on Spotify while the other is on YouTube.
Don't Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes - Perry Como Still debating if I'll use this in a scene or not. Because the lyrics? C'mon on.
Fire Up the Night - New Medicine
Happiness Is A Warm Gun - Joe Anderson/Salma Hayek Makes a tiny acoustic/background appearance.
Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival Cut song for castle siege prep at the beach camp.
Ho Hey - The Lumineers Cut camp song.
Time of the Season (Mono Version) - The Zombies Cut camp song (maybe)...
Say Yes To Heaven - Lana Del Rey
Counting Stars - OneRepublic Important, uncut camp song!
Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Lorde Trailer 2 music
Dancin' (feat. Luvli) (Krono Remix) - Aaron Smith Used for Carmen's "name game". Also, I have a little promo music video in my head to this one.
The Night We Met - Lord Huron
Dark Paradise - Lana Del Rey
Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) - Looking Glass The very first thoughts I ever had about Wandering Star were to this song
Misery - Maroon 5 Reminds me of Carmen and Law for some reason??
No Surprises - Radiohead Another Law one. May use it
I Wanna Get Better - Bleachers Just feels like some of the story to me. But like...alot...Reminds me alot of the Heart/Kid Pirates
Knee Socks - Arctic Monkeys Cut song, but the vibes...There's one part in particular...
With You in My Head - UNKLE
High On A Rocky Ledge - Moondog This one I just HAD to have in Wandering Star the moment I heard it in Our Flag Means Death. Brook will sing some of it
Will the Circle Be Unbroken (Bioshock Infinite) - Courtnee Draper {YouTube Playlist Only}
Still Here - Digital Daggers
Coming Undone - Korn There is an episode of the same title
Celeste - Ezra Vine Cut song for the "bar incident" scene. Liked the lyrics, but not the sound for it
Come Out and Play - The Offspring
You're Gonna Go Far, Kid - The Offspring pfft...there's def not a cut lapdance scene to this song...
Lost at Sea - Lana Del Rey Does show up. Super important. Major moments - 'dress drop' scene.
Do You Feel It? - Chaos Chaos
Mermaid - Skott
Saturn - Sleeping At Last This one hits hard....really like it
Stars - fun. A certain character's theme song
Paradise - Coldplay Really good fit for the story - just feels like it
Song To The Siren - This Mortal Coil Yeah...This is another major one. It always shows up for Carmen. Even in Gundam it played for a key moment. It feels so much like her and will show up on her own playlist
Black Bird - Evan Rachel Wood Debating on whether to use this song or the one above for a major moment. They both just fit so well and hit so hard
Kingdom Fall - Claire Wyndam Wandering Star end credits

HEAR: Dhani Harrison - “New Religion (Ft. Graham Coxon)”
Multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and composer, Dhani Harrison, has released INNERSTANDING, his first solo album in six years. The new album is available now digitally, with a 2LP Neon Yellow color vinyl edition being available on February 9th, 2024, via H.O.T. Records/BMG. The album features Blur’s Graham Coxon on several tracks, including the single “New Religion”, as well as guest appearances from Liela Moss of The Duke Spirit and critically acclaimed Australian singer Mereki.
Watch the visualizer for “New Religion (feat. Graham Coxon)” below:
“Here we are in a new world and here is the new album that has come forth from it.” Dhani Harrison on his new album,
Harrison previously previewed the album with the single “Damn That Frequency”, which also featured Coxon on saxophone – stream HERE. In addition to his appearance on that track, Coxon also features on guitar on four other songs on INNERSTANDING. The album was produced by Harrison and co-mixed with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Paul Hicks (The Beatles, Joe Strummer, The Rolling Stones).
Originally stepping onto the global stage with his band thenewno2, Dhani Harrison first earned critical acclaim for his innovative sound and approach with performances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and on multiple late night TV shows. However, it was as solo artist that Harrison truly demonstrated his creative autonomy. 2017’s IN///PARALLEL served as a testament to his evolution as a musician, weaving intricate melodies and a subject matter that forewarned much of what the world has experienced in the years following its release. Rolling Stone hailed IN///PARALLEL writing that it was “psychedelia-tinged journey into modern-day disconnect.”
Harrison is also known for scoring film and TV projects as well as collaborating with an array of diverse artists including Wu-Tang Clan, UNKLE, John McLaughlin, Annie Lennox, Pearl Jam, Nitin Sawhney, Perry Farrell, Prince, Regina Spektor, and Fistful of Mercy (alongside Ben Harper & Joseph Arthur). Since his 2013 debut as a composer on Richard La Gravenese’s Beautiful Creatures, Harrison has gone on to score the Sundance Award- winning MATANGI/MAYA/M.I.A., for which he and his scoring partner Paul Hicks received an International Documentary Association (IDA) Award nomination for “Best Music Score Award.” Additional scores include R.Z.A.’s CutThroat City, Obey Giant – The Story of Shepard Fairey, Amazon’s original series Good Girls Revolt, Showtime’s White Famous, and the much-lauded HBO docuseries, The Case Against Adnan Syed.
As an artist who defies categorization, Harrison continues to explore the boundaries of music and creativity. His ability to seamlessly blend diverse influences while maintaining his individuality has solidified his place as a contemporary musical visionary. With each new composition, performance, and collaboration, Dhani Harrison invites us to join him on a sonic journey that knows no limits.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I'm actually fucking hyped for this shit. Like all the animators I know/or like are in on this whole project. Unkle Joe is doing this, Ratboy Genius is doing this, KHONJIN is doing this. Last but not least, Christine W. Chandler (aka Christian Chandler) who made Sonichu is doing this also. I'm actually quite surprised the creator of Sonichu is doing this..so many people...
Sorry if I seem too hyped for this btw, but I am for no reason. Dam-

FKAjazz, Unkle Nephew - HK Bound - it’s no coincidence that I followed Kaidi Tatham with this on yesterday’s radio show
There's a way a city feels, an energy & a sound that is then brought to life. It finds you and you learn more about who you are; you become yourself.
Credits: FKAjazz - saxophone, keys & production, Unkle Nephew - drums, Noah MacNeil - piano (track 2 only), Leo Coltrane - voiceover (track 3 only) | Engineered by Alan Camlet at Hoboken Recorders, Mixed by Samir Zarif, Mastered by Joe Lambert, Cover Art by Samir Zarif, Canvas and Animation by Noah MacNeil.

I have a list of ~900 albums from 2019 that I still want to eventually listen to / review [IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT ALERT]
For this project (already 125+ releases deep), which is just impossibly daunting and makes me head hurt. IDK how to streamline this process or is any “critic” out there really listening to “all” the good music? It’s impossible I guess... BUT needless to say, these have made this list from an even larger pool of music that I either listened to briefly and immediately dismissed or (gasp!) never even came across my radar (radar = many many music blogs I follow via RSS).

Day 308

“I made this album with Tim Goldsworthy (formerly of Mo’ Wax/Unkle/DFA) - my first time working on solo music with a producer. I am so happy with the results - it feels like quite a departure to me, and we really had some fun making it, with some new technology as well as instruments we created just for this record...
Whilst primarily made on my own with Tim, other guest musicians include Neil Hagerty, Susumu Mukai, and Emma Smith, and Joe Goddard from Hot Chip produced one track too. I am very excited for everyone to get to hear the LP in April. Roll on blank tapes, internet-based streaming, jam-on-cd-spreading, vinyl fetishising, and of course the great un-boxing. Don’t forget to listen!”

#musicmatters @Selfridges
As London gets ripped apart at the seams in the woeful quest for cash - the spiritually poor man's index of success - rats are always close. The music industry is full of such scabied beasts. But it is on the blood of musicians that they feed. It's do or die in this city, baby, and in a wilful promotional act to invest in keeping the heartbeat of our host pumping, like a fresh baby, there's a secret lil space in the basement of Oxford that's opened up.
Whether the basement of Selfridges can be a subversive act, this city is about the mullah, and there's been some cash thrown on the laser entry, and TEM-space which aims to make a mega HD 3D environment to whore around social media for infinitesimal.
But - music venues across the UK are under threat by increasing rates and no mandatory council encouragement of culture. An estimated 40% of London’s music venues have closed, and in response Selfridges will become a venue for a series of musical collaborations from 20 July - 18 October as part of its new campaign, Music Matters at Selfridges.
The iconic retailer, famous for introducing retail theatre and extraordinary shopping experiences to the UK, will host events and collaborations with musical talent across all its stores in London, Manchester, Birmingham and online during the three-month-long campaign.
Selfridges’ Oxford Street will provide a platform for new music artists, in the Ultralounge, the world’s first in-store live music venue. Superstar creatives Skepta and A$AP Rocky will open and close Music Matters at Selfridges with global exclusive fashion-based concepts.
Anti-nostalgia is key to burgeoning scenes, burning what's been before.
Cold Lips would poise the Q that digital space has replaced the physical need.
But at the launch event for the Ultralounge, a panel hosted by Cerys Matthews discussed their own takes on the regen quandary...
Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) suggests "UK could learn from international strategies of housing development always providing [cultural venues]"
"Labels were the lunatics running the asylum, [when I started in acid house]," James Lavelle, "Everything I've come from is from those clubs."
"We like you being here - the restaurant next door - whatever - once these places are gone hey are never coming back..." Jeff Horton, 100 Club,
"The people in charge see it as being money because buzzy places can't stay indie...when we got involved with Converse and Fred perry, we said 'No Laurels in the 100 Club logos, mate' and they got it...the point is - the current government will actually kill what makes London special."
"I see lovely old venues turning into flats..." Cerys Matthews.
The Ultralounge runs till October 2nd -
