TW: hatemail - I am tired of being patient.
Hey so I don't respond to hate mail unless it's like bad but
Tumblr media
Fuck whoever sent this to my friend Vinny, I don't "tolerate" no one, if you have so much of a problem with them then fucking block them and unfollow them. This is UNACCEPTABLE behavior. I am so glad tumblr added a feature to report yall nasty asses. If I hate you, I block you, If I don't like you, I don't tolerate it.
If you want to interact with people stay in your damn lane. I told Vinny to report you and block you.
I told Vinny not reply to it, but if you have a problem with @rance-ed/@reviviscencegruiform or any of the other characters leave. If you have an issue with ANYONE in the RPC who has done no wrong, fucking leave, if you have an issue with ANYONE with OCs, canon divergent characters Fuck on right off.
Leave, god you are so pathetic if you think you're "tolerating" people. Fucking "OC trash" I'll trash you, you are the most singularly pathetic waste of human space if your mindset is this. GOD, I am NOT that bitch, leave my friends alone.
Leave the RPC alone. If you hate OCs so much put it on your damn blog god. Fuck you.
Also, canon characters are "ocs" btw. There are thousands of versions of them and all are deliciously original and different. Grow some thick skin and get a spine. and next time, say it to Vinny's face so we know who you are so we aren't wasting our damn time.

#WARFARED — indie / selective / mutuals only / 20+. multimuse roleplay blog for canons and ocs of various media. highlighted media includes call of duty: modern warfare ii, ghost the band, across the spiderverse, & dead by daylight. oc / duplicate / crossover-friendly. personals dni. loved by elliott/sunshine (it/its + they/them, 20).
affiliated with: @lt-ghxst, @prettytm, @crushng, @hauntsect
google site / muses / interest tracker / starter calls / memes / wishlist / musings sideblog
Tumblr media
ONE. typical rp etiquette is required on my blog; no godmodding / metagaming / taking control of my character unless previously talked about. please do not reblog roleplay memes directly from me. please reblog memes from the source. i don't expect you to practice reblog karma, but i would appreciate it if you sent me memes after reblogging a meme you saw on my blog.
TWO. please be over the age of twenty as i would prefer to write with a mature audience. i will only roleplay and interact with mutuals. if you follow me first, please consider breaking the ice and hopping into my dms — even a simple hi is enough to get it started! i promise i don’t bite. this is also a warning that i will probably invade your messages if you follow me or follow me back. one more thing, if you follow me with the intent of roleplay, please consider filling out my interest tracker. it's a very straightforward way for me to know that you are interested in roleplaying with me and is a way to break the ice if you're antsy about dming me.
THREE. all muses found on this blog are multiship. i would like you to ask before shipping; i’m fine with shipping immediately, but don't come into my inbox starting a relationship without talking to me about it first. that'll earn you a block.
FOUR. many of my canons are headcanon-based. respect my headcanons and i’ll respect yours. don’t like one of my headcanons? thinking about sending me hatemail? just block me, dude. not that hard. if you send me hatemail i’ll clown on you and talk about you behind you back.
FIVE. i am extremely selective and i reserve the right to unfollow or block at will. if we haven't interacted at all, i’ll probably softblock you. though you're welcome to follow back if you do want to interact. i will not answer questions about why i’ve unfollowed or blocked.
SIX. personal blogs, do not interact unless you have a roleplay sideblog. i’m probably just going to block you. nothing personal.
SEVEN. i don't reblog callout posts or engage in cancel culture unless genuine, actual, real life harm is being done. don’t get me involved in your drama. i prefer to do my own research; ultimately, i choose who i can and can't interact with. if you have a dni, i probably won't follow/follow back. i will make exceptions for mutuals that i know and trust.
EIGHT. this blog is run by an afab nonbinary asian person. a majority of my muses fall under the lgbtq+ umbrella. don’t be any kind of -ist to me or my muses, because that will result in an immediate block.
CONTENT WARNING: this blog delves into dark themes at times. i will tag things as “trigger tw”, and i will do my best to tag anything particularly triggering, especially if it’s visual. if you need something tagged, i’ll do my best to tag it for you. i also enjoy writing sexual content, tagged as “nsft.”, which i will also put under a read more. however, just because i like dark content doesn't mean i roleplay incest or pedophilia. dni if that's what you're here for. i unabashedly love my original characters as much as i love my canon muses. i would like to ask you to consider interacting with my originals just as much as my canons!
another note: a majority of my muses are male or transmasc nonbinary because i am transmasc nonbinary. this does not mean i don’t love my female muses just as much. i’m here to have fun with my barbie dolls. i love oc x canon and i strongly encourage you to suggest oc x canon ships!

OH OKAY WOW.
Just read that hatemail you got, your reply was stunning and you clapped back at like everything but omfg the comment in there going “the ones that are attractive can’t just say it. People have to see it. It makes better fiction!”
Is SO stupid! Like hello??? This is a self insert blog! You literally can’t write what a self insert looks like because the moment you give a insert x skin time, y body type or any color hair or eyes that takes any reader without those features out of the story! (Minus like active requests for like a body type or gender of course)
Not only that but beauty is extremely dependent on an individuals tastes so again an issue for so insert.
Not gonna lie I had a bad taste in my mouth for those two with all the rule breaking and the bossy behavior (seriously who the fuck comes to a NSFW blog and goes “It’s myyyyyy month everyone stop doing what they like and only write and read what I want wahhh *adds a pity story trying to make being ace out like it’s a horrible curse for pity points*)
Blah getting nasty, apologies, but seriously this was the comment that cemented for me these two literally just wanted you to write self insert fanfiction only for Ace anon like make the insert their personality (hence the hate on how you write the insert) and to look like ace anon (the comment above on giving the insert a physical appearance.)
Aaaa thank you for the kind words! Yeah, that part kinda threw me a bit?? Like, I have to be vague in appearance so the reader insert appeals to everyone, unless specifically requested otherwise. This blog posts almost exclusively about reader inserts. Ace Anon pushed the line a lot, until I put my foot down over submissions before I went on a small hiatus, and made my rules clearer. Then the posts about No Nut November really kinda made me uncomfortable, that’s why I kinda responded to them the way I did. I get they set it up as a joke, but it felt like they took it too personally for one. There were a few other things they did. It felt like I was always tip toeing around them since they said how much they hated sexual content. Then they would turn around and send sexual content in?? Like some of their ideas were good, stuff that I’d be into story wise, but it felt like I had to be careful since they claimed multiple times they didn’t like sexual content. One that stood out that I never posted was that they wanted to make a request when asks were open. They wanted to request that the ‘reader’ themselves consume aphrodisiacs at a party, and Warden Ingo finds them, sees them upset, and tries the food himself to figure out what is wrong. Only to get affected himself, and grow worried when they had consumed 5. Then to freak out and yell at everyone at the party while trying to take care of them. It... Made me uncomfortable since it was from them. I never answered that ask, even though it was never a request. There were other things, but those were the ones on top of my head. This wasn’t the first time their friend sent something in either. When I put up my boundaries over that one AU, their friend got really upset about it. I didn’t want to respond to it because of how nuts it was. (Believe it or not, it was even worse than this last one) But I had to draw a line with the last ask their friend sent. It did kinda feel like they wanted me to write specific content, though It certainly confused me. It felt like they either picked and chose what they read, so they wouldn’t see any variety of my content, or they lacked reading comprehension, thinking the reader was flat, lacked empathy, and was selfish in everything I wrote, when I KNOW its not true for every story. Talk about a mess. Hopefully they’ll stay away now.

Hey um I’m sorry for being so cringy in the past
Huh what? Cringy?? Hey no that’s nothing to apologize about ahahaha, you didn’t do or say anything that warrants an apology, especially not to me.
This goes for anyone btw, esp for people who sent me asks that I have yet to answer or won’t answer. Sometimes I get confused and don’t know what to say so I keep my mouth shut, and recently it’s because I’m too busy with my day job (I work in animation, so you know how tough and time consuming that is) so I didn’t/don’t have the time to answer. (Esp bc I’m extra and like to answer with fully colored drawings lol). So don’t feel bad or feel like I don’t like what you sent me (unless its, yknow, straight up hatemail) just because I’m too much of a wreck to answer shit on time or at all lmao.
And as for cringe? I don’t believe in her, we’ve all been there, we’ve been so excited we might do/say things people label as “cringe” but that’s whatever to me. You’ve done nothing wrong.

let's be real here... Even if you got an honest-to-goodness apology out of Yarrow, you wouldn't ever stop. This isn't about victims, this is about a personal grudge. That's why you willingly work with KF, who doxxes and harasses people (not just them) to disseminate their information. You see fit that people get hatemail at their physical addresses--if you were doing a good job, you'd see that Yarrow once posted a letter full of swastika stickers to their instagram--because they're cringe. This is more about personal opinions on people you don't know, who are willingly subjected to real-life stalking, because you don't like them.
And ffs, I know you're not out here lying about their family. Their mom isn't "dying of cancer," she's having radiation and is actually doing really good.
If you're going to act like some bastion of morality, get your shit right.
"Willingly work with Kiwi Farms" Yarrow I NEED you to please listen to me. This is the paranoia talking. I am a uni student who saw insane posts on Tumblr and made a side blog to post about the bullshit. Just because KF screenshots my posts doesn't mean I "work" with them. I am literally a bystander. The only work I do is at Target packing shelves.
Is simply calling out your behavior "working" with people? Or do you genuinely think there is a network of people who are out to get you?
Never on this blog have I ever encouraged or praised doxing. In fact I've only ever called it out because YOU are the one who regularly doxes people you know to prove they exist to trolls on the internet. And yourself. You can't post your location publicly on the internet and think only good people will see it. This is internet safety 101 that we were all taught in the 90s you goof.
I dont have your fucking Kiwi Farms 3000+ page thread memorized, if somebody sent you swastikas that's fucking terrifying and makes you being public even more baffling. An employer can find all of this information by googling your name. If they can do it, trolls can do it. Being a victim doesn't mean you don't bother doing things to protect yourself.
Your phone number shouldn't be publicly available on the internet. Google voice exists for a reasons for businesses. Your address should not be available to the public, which you gladly give out to anyone who wants to throw a few dollars at you for your patches. PO boxes exist for a reason.
If you are genuinely afraid of stalking then you should not be selling shit until you have a PO box. I hate to break it to you but whoever sent you that was most likely one of your buyers and not someone from Kiwi Farms unless the buyer was from there.
I'm glad to hear your mother is doing better but radiation is not all flowers and sunshine. If she looks just fine to you that is a testimate to her strength and unwilling to show you how much she's struggling.

Your poetry is terrible & lame, you should feel some regret & shame, just like your drunk elven father did, when he fucked your mom stupid
Not bad! If it’s not taking liberties with your impressive creativity, might I just make a few corrections in meter:
Your poetry is terrible and lame.
It brings regret to you, and brings you shame
Just like your drunken elven father did
The time he fucked your mother, plus you’re stupid.
You see, the first line was written in fairly passable iambic pentameter, and I thought it a shame that the following lines didn’t quite have the same structure. The kernel of an idea was clearly present in the poem you submitted to me, and some of the language was visceral and emotive, but I think that being a bit stricter with meter would lend itself well to the rhythm and flow of your lines, particularly if you ever had plans to read it aloud, although of course that would mean coming off Anonymous, so I completely understand if that’s not on the cards for your poetic career. I also really liked the rhyming of lame / shame. The fact that both are thematically as well as semantically linked works very well, connoting negative feelings of self-worth and reflecting in a nuanced yet obvious manner on the psyche of its author.
I hope you make use of my suggestions. I truly have made them with the best of intentions. Let me know how it goes when you submit it to a prestigious poetry magazine; I’m sure it’ll be a veritable shoo-in.

Putting together an author website can be slightly overwhelming. There are so many other sites to compare yourself to, so many things you don’t want to forget, and how often are you supposed to update it? How do you even design it? What do author websites need? Where do you find the time? And do you really need a blog? (You don’t.)
Whether your website is sleek like Ashley Poston‘s, intricately illustrated like Roshani Chokshi’s, or merely functional like Suzanne Collins‘s, here are five things that that every author needs to have on their author website.
Because apparently my own house is out of order I'm gonna say it here. If you're a writer you need to have a website. Here's what goes on it: Your name Your beautiful face A list of books you done wroted A bio, shorter is better An email contact form Newsletter signup THAT'S IT
— DongWon (@dongwon)

1. Contact information
Even the largest, most successful author needs contact information on their website, yet often its buried in hard-to-find places or just not included at all. Contact information—usually in the form of an email address—ensures that booksellers, press, librarians and fans have a way of contacting you.
Authors who feel nervous or unsafe about giving public access to an email address—a particular issue for authors of color who get an exceptional amount of hatemail for just existing—can make a separate email just for authorial duties (either through your website host or a service like Gmail) or they can list the emails of their publicist, literary agent, or author assistant as a buffer.
While many authors use contact forms, and they certainly do cut down on spam, I personally find them difficult to navigate, and its almost impossible to follow up on an email sent through a generic contact form. My preference is just a listed email address, even if its broken up in a way that spambots can’t decipher.
Looking for an example to model your contact page after? Try Zoraida Córdova’s!
2. Links to your social media
If a fan Googles your name, what will be the first two things to come up? Odds are that it’s your website and your Twitter handle. But there’s more social media sites than Twitter, and they’re much more difficult to find via Google, especially if your usernames are all different.
Depending on your layout, social media links can be featured prominently on a landing page, along the sidebar of blog posts, besides a search function if you use a blog, or listed on the about or contact pages. Much like your contact page, they should be easy to find. Angie Thomas’s website is a great example: she features them prominently on the landing page and along the header of every other page.
Remember to use alt-tags to label each site if you choose to hyperlink logos for fans who may have a hard time “reading” images.
3. Newsletter sign-up form
Unlike blogs or social media, newsletters are more guaranteed to be read (as they’re sitting in an email inbox) and fans who sign up for a newsletter are way more likely to buy a book. Authors who don’t have a newsletter should get one – and any author who does needs a prominent way to have fans sign up on their website.
Newsletter sign-ups, much like social media links, can be displayed on your landing page, in a footer, or along a sidebar. My personal favorite method is to include a newsletter sign-up on your landing page and then link to the sign-up page in the menu that’s featured across the site. While more subtle of an approach for those who skin the landing page, it’s statistically more likely to rope you newsletter subscribers that will turn into actual viable sales. (Who knew?)
Susan Dennard implements both a landing page and a pop-up (not my preferred method, but an effective one) to grab newsletter subscribers on her website. Her newsletter doubles as both a writer’s newsletter and her author newsletter, however, so she markets hers a little bit differently; Kate Elliott’s sign-up form is another example that works.
4. Updated information about your book
‘Updated’ is the key word here, especially when it comes to soon-to-release books. Do you have covers? Summaries? Blurbs? Release dates? Order links? Order links to all available places to buy and not just Amazon? A link to the Goodreads page? Links to any important coverage or reviews?
Keeping your book pages updated are vital for author websites, as finding out more about a book is the main reason people go to websites – but so often, especially pre-publication, it can be easy to forget to keep them updated in the whirlwind of other things that need to be done. Immediately updating any new covers, release dates, and ordering information is a must—you don’t want your own site to be behind on the times!—but, unless there’s another major update, try to make sure your information is up to date a) once a month pre-pub and b) once every few months post-pub.
Victoria Schwab’s website includes a book page with information about all her available titles and encourages fans to buy signed copies from her local independent bookstore, so I’m particularly fond of it.
5. A bio—preferably with a press kit
Whether it’s a blogger, a bookstagrammer, a member of the press, or an eager fan, having a press kit on your website guarantees a place where information on you can be found and used on other sites. (Especially if you include it in an easy-to-find location like your “about” page.)
Press kits should include everything on your book page—summaries, order links, blurbs, release dates—and all of your social media links along with an author bio and downloadable high quality images of your cover(s) and author photo. I recommend having the text available in a .doc or .rtf downloadable file rather than a .pdf for ease of the person downloading, along with the images a downloadable .jpgs. You should also include all of your contact information, including your publicist’s email.
Beth Revis has a beautiful press kit on her website that’s easy-to-find on her contact page.
While author websites can certainly include more than what’s mentioned above, those are five musts for any author’s website. Getting that information up and keeping it updated will keep your readers happy—and keep them coming back for more.

hello, a while ago I sent you a message which probably sounded like a panic attack. I am really sorry about that, I really needed someone to talk to and I shouldn't have messaged you in that way. Anyhow I think it's all ok now, but thank you for your help
Hii!
Err... I don’t remember getting a message like that? D: Actually I reply all of my messages unless they’re spam or trolling or hatemail, so it’s more likely that Tumblr ate it. *sighs*
But whatever it was, I’m glad to hear that you’re doing better, and honestly if you have more personal issues that you want to talk about in private, you’re always welcome to send me a chat message to talk to me. Keep on being awesome! x

not sure how to organize this but i’ve been involved with fandom on some level since i was 13 (10+ years for those bad at math) and i’m a little horrified by the way it’s evolved over the years particularly by way of tumblr and other social media
while i certainly think it’s ok to critique things that you dislike about certain works, ships, fics, tropes, etc. it’s really gross to actually attack the creators of whatever thing you don’t like.
this happened recently with SE hinton being harrassed on twitter for saying that the characters of her book the outsiders were straight. this went beyond expressing a desire to see more diversity and into mockery, harrassment, abuse.
of course this is nothing new in the last few years. we’ve seen artists and fic creators both attacked and sent death threats. at least one has attempted suicide because of it (thankfully, i don’t know of any completed suicides)
ive gotten pretty lucky online in that i only rarely get hatemail and nasty reviews on fic, art, messages to my tumblr(s) but until the last ~2-3 years i had only gotten 2 mean reviews that didn’t involve any meaningful criticism. lately though I’ve noticed a few more than usual, and the last time i updated a fic i had the same person anonymously review both the FFN and AO3 mirror of the same chapter.
Still uncommon for me personally but I’m sure if I posted for voltron, steven universe, or the force awakens (moreso than og star wars saga) it would be happening a lot more often, and a lot more viciously than the laughably milquetoast “kill yourself, virgin.”
idk, fandom nastiness has always been the worst when it comes to shipping but i feel like the focus has shifted from “my ship is better/more interesting/hotter” to “my slash ship is more canon, and if it’s not canon, the author is queerbaiting” and “your ship that i don’t like is abusive somehow” even though shipping is a fan activity and historically shippers have been relatively unconcerned with canonicity outside of a few outstanding examples (star wars EU, naruto and other popular shonen fandoms).
it’s making me not want to participate in fandom or interact with my readers very much because i don’t want to be subject to unwarranted attacks simply because they read my fic and didn’t enjoy it or something about it was not to their specific tastes.
“don’t like don’t read” is generally my rule of thumb unless there’s something outstandingly awful about it. it’s mocked sometimes, but it’s the reader’s choice. nobody is forcing you to read things you don’t like and nobody is forcing you to attack people because they made something you don’t like.
it’s your choice, your reaction is under your control. do not pretend otherwise. do not make excuses. you are the only person responsible for your actions. it does not matter how “problematic” something is.
if your reaction to it is to viciously attack, stalk, and harrass someone, then that is 100% under your control. nobody is making you do it. it’s on you to not treat another person like shit
