The surreal thing about the Titan submersible: unless someone pulls off a miraculous last-minute rescue, when we all wake up tomorrow, those five men will be dead.
I mean, assuming they haven't already hyperventilated the last of their oxygen or imploded in a hull failure event.
It's currently June 22nd, 1:48 AM, MDT. If they're still alive, they will not be within the next...what, three hours? Give or take. And it would take hours to get the sub to the surface if it were found miles underwater, so if it's at the bottom of the sea, that really gives the rescuers...I don't know, like, maybe an hour to pull off the impossible?
These men are about to cross the event horizon.
When the banging sounds were first reported, it blew my fucking mind. I'd been certain that they were dead already, or that if they weren't, they would be soon. Without question. Then came this bizarre, impossible glimmer of hope. And I thought, if those sounds really were occurring at thirty-minute intervals, if it really was the Titan passengers, then maybe—maybe—they had a chance.
But they just...don't. Let's be realistic: they're about to die. We know this. We know for a fact that their time is about to run out.
And I know people are angry about the Missing White Woman Syndrome feel of it all. It would make for such on-the-nose satire. Five wealthy men have the world on pins and needles; where was that energy when hundreds of refugees drowned off the coast of Greece a week ago?
It frustrates me that I'm so invested in the Titan sub. It's like the entire incident was orchestrated for the sole purpose of grabbing attention (of course I don't believe that's the case). The very premise of the sub is tauntingly ridiculous—so very blatantly an expensive suicide. I saw someone compare it to an Onion article, and it IS.
The shitty video game controller, the ominous waiver, Stockton Rush's portentous comments (hell, even his name), the toilet sat right in front of that tiny dollhouse window. The absurd price tag paired with a history of failed dives and an OceanGate employee fired and sued years ago for raising safety concerns.
God, it's so dumb. It's so so fucking dumb. In real life, what we'd call "foreshadowing" is really just actions→consequences. But still. Still. It reads like sitcom writers setting the dominos for a season finale, tirelessly working to maximize memeability so we can all point and laugh with our popcorn.
The sheer pointless, brainless, wasteful extravagance of it all makes it easy to forget how horrific and tragic the ordeal really is. It grants us some strange permission to rubberneck.
And, well, who wouldn't want to rubberneck? The drama. Horror movie levels of repulsion. Any fear you can imagine—the dark, the cold, the ocean, suffocation, confined spaces, death—all wrapped into one perfect, cinematic nightmare. It's a black comedy: dumbassery punished by a fate we don't, shouldn't, wish even on billionaires.
Then, of course, there is the deadline. Pun not intended.
That, I think, is what's really gripped us. The limited oxygen supply is a countdown, a ticking time bomb. Ten minutes left in the movie—can the protagonist pull off a daring escape in time?
God, I know I sound like one of those crisis actor conspiracy theorists, but you couldn't manufacture a more gripping story if you tried. That hard figure we've seen in every news article: 96 hours. Ninety-six hours to save the day.
Can you see the Netflix docudrama now? The cuts to a black screen with the remaining number of hours emblazoned in the center? "If we don't find that sub tonight, those men are dead," some intrepid rescuer says...a split second of grave silence...then the scene goes black, except for a line of heavyweight white text that reads, in all caps, "SIX HOURS REMAINING." Next we'll see a heart-wrenchingly candid conversation between the passengers, for character development.
You know Channel 5 is airing a documentary about the Titan in the UK tomorrow. Tonight, actually, since I guess it's technically Thursday morning. The countdown was so hard-set, ITN calculated the exact hour at which they could broadcast their production. The perfect moment for them to capitalize on that post-curtains melancholy we all get at the end of a movie.
It's crass, but fascinating, too. Is ITN going to acknowledge their production timeline by leaving the documentary's ending ambiguous, a choice which will ring bittersweet when aired in the aftermath of the inevitable deaths? Will they scramble to concoct an ending in those mere hours after the passengers asphyxiate? Have they already made two endings: one in case of a miracle, and one in case of a tragedy? Any answer is soulless.
But all of this is soulless. The Titan is our gladiator fight, our bread and circuses. Still, I can't stop staring, because I cannot wrap my head around it. It's 3:30 AM now. Within hours, they will be dead, sure as an execution.
Few news stories come with such a grim deadline. Almost always it's a nail-biting rescue whose twists and turns we follow until some hitherto-unpredictable endpoint; or a sprawling clusterfuck of tragedy trailed by aftermath upon aftermath; or a search for a missing person that eventually meanders into a quiet presumption of death.
The certainty blows my mind—the finality of it, the tragedy of it, is incomprehensible. It doesn't feel real. Why do I care so much? Those men were dead from the start (if not literally, then certainly figuratively). Why do I keep reading about it, posting about it? Why can't I stop watching the car wreck smolder? What am I doing still standing in the street?
I hate that I fell prey to the submarine story like everyone else with an internet connection. But whatever deity may or may not exist got bored, I guess, and crafted the dramedy-action-horror hybrid of the year. Even wove in little cliffhangers (the banging! On the sonobuoys! There's still time!) to string us along like a damn HBO producer.
It gets me, man.
It's 4:00 AM, MDT. I guess it's really over, huh? I know 96 hours was never an exact deadline, but let's not be idealistic here.
I hope it was quick. I hope they imploded in a single terrible instant.
I hope the next sunken boat of six hundred refugees wins as much attention as the Titan did.
I hope Netflix doesn't make that docudrama with the black screen and the all-caps line of heavyweight white text.
I hope we sleep. I hope I sleep. I hope we all can sleep.

So like Bruce/Batman is super overdramatic. Like we know it. Reather than going to therapy he decided to dress up as a bat and beat up criminals so that they go into coma. And beside, I know that him taking on a bat fursona is because of his fear of them or whatever, but he could be effective with a demon mask or something. But no! He has to be dramatic, and take on that cute-ass animal and make it feard by everyone, because if he's scared of bats, than everybody else have to too.
And they're so cute!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But. The thing is, vigilatism, heroism, villainism, it's all a bit overdramatic. So all of his gaggle of children are dramatic too. But like, it's an unnecessary flip there, and insulting criminals by puns there, not going all emo and 'I am vengance, I am justice yada yada'.
Also, how he's just always towards the JL. He won't tell them anything, he's gonna keep his cards close and let them have the littlest he can. And like he'll make everything as dramatic as it can be. Like there was that scene in the JL cartoon if I remember correctly, where GL was irritating him (as per usual), and Batman, instead of talking back or ignoring him, stole his rong and was like 'at least i can do shit without a piece of alien jewlery'. It's dramatic as fuck! Like, you didn't had to do that, man!
And that way, I came to Jason freaking Todd, who looked at that man and said 'I can do everything he did better'. So he went on his little 'RH is better Batman than Batman ever was yada yada' rampage, and then made Bruce's overdramaticness look like a preeschoolers tantrum. He went all in.
His name? Red Hood? It may look unoriginal, taking the same method to choosing name as Bruce, but it's just perfect dramatic irony. Bruce don't know how Jason chose his name, but he does and it's all for shit and giggles, so that he'll havea breakdown when he'll find out RH's identity.
And if we're on it. His whole identity reveal, confrontation with Joker shit? It was planned. He was practicing his monologue for a moth every night before bed.
And the Titans Tower. Like, I don't really like that, but that horryfyingly-hillarious image of Jayson in Robin suit? It's priceless. I've seen those posts where people were like 'did he buy it on etsy? Sex shop? Or maybe he did it with his own two hands for three months straight so it'll look perfect?', and it's always so funny.
He decided that he's gonna outrun Bruce in every category there is, and he almost succeed. He failed, bc he doesn't have a gaggle of children running after him. (Unless you count Generation Outlaw when he had his little team to train and it was super cool. Maybe he did beat Bruce at it. They went on their own at least and aren't that traumatised by him as every batkid is by Bruce, so...)

Frank always listened to Jason's advice.
Being Praetor as a 5th Cohort newbie meant people were very quickly to dismiss him.
He took heed of his warnings, kept a close eye on a list of people he memorised by heart and than burned.
Leaving no trace of such a list to have been made.
Learning from Jason had the side effect of Frank learning things about the other he probably wasn't supposed to.
How he always surveyed the room with a subtle glance.
Checking for exists, entrances, any weakness in the structure to exploit if something were to happen.
How light his steps were.
Practically undetectable.
Everytime he'd walk into something or get clumsy, it was practiced.
It was on purpose.
To draw attention to him but also away from him.
How even his smile was practiced.
The first time Frank heard him laugh, genuinely he wondered how he didn't notice it wasn't before.
He'd never been more thankful for Leo's terrible puns.
Jason never sat unless someone offered him a seat or mentioned he could.
His hands shook but you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it.
Frank only knows because of the time Percy mentioned the Titan war and Jason froze.
For a few seconds, his emotions were on full display before being bottled back up with practiced ease.
His grandmother, once mentioned what his mother had been like coming from war.
How she'd been a shell of herself.
Everything felt like a threat.
She had only begun to heal because her family was their for her.
Frank wishes he could tell Jason he's their for him too.
He hopes that Jason knows.
He remembers when Percy and Annabeth fell into Tartarus.
How Jason for the first time had crumbled to the ground and screamed.
How he'd almost jumped after them.
He would have if Frank hadn't held him close and firm.
Frank wasn't losing anyone else.
He refused to.
Remembers when Jason tried to bottle it all up, resume control and worked himself ragged while caring for everyone else.
How Frank would find him sat at the table at midnight and put a bowl of leftovers in front of him.
And plead with him.
How he'd eat in silence until one day he just shook his head and sobbed.
Frank didn't know hearts could break until he saw Jason's shatter.
He hugged him, held him. Ran a hand through his hair and tried to muster up encouraging words.
That all bled into "I'm here, I'm here, I've got you."
Frank remembers seeing Jason, really seeing Jason.
All the broken, hurt, bleeding parts of him that lay on the Argo's floor.
As he sobbed like a boy who had never cried before.
Frank takes his advice, because Jason knows this life better than him.
And Frank curses the God's for ever letting Jason think he has to hide how he was falling apart.

Would the Bat-Clan/Family really be better off without Bruce?
Tumblr media
You know. I often hear the critism that Batman raises child soliders or whatever and I happily.... Agree, I mean it's obviously what they are. Kid vigilantes are something that should have become extinct in comics since the 70s but DC kept them. I don't really care cause I love them so much and I don't like to push realism into comics in a world where aliens exist and vigilantes actually work as a method to bring Peace.
What I'm hear to argue about was that Bruce was probably a GOOD(kinda?) thing for them honestly. So let's imagine a world where Batman faced with the opportunity to take in any of these kids as Vigilantes and give them training and tech/supplies refuses or just ignores them or just never even meets them.
You have
Dick - who tried to hunt down Tony Zucco by himself
Barbara - had gone out as Batgirl on her own
Jason - lived on the streets in Gotham, we meet him trying to steal Batman's tires.
Tim - followed Batman and Robin around with a camera for years before being Robin
Damian and Cassandra - both trained assassins since birth
Stephanie - was already already a vigilante before Batman took her in and is the daughter of Cluemaster
Duke - was a member of the Robins gang that tried to keep the piece during Batman's absence.
Leaving out Batwoman and Huntress because I have yet to read through thier stuff(forgive me). Will get there eventually though
Right of the Bat(Pun intended)
Dick is likely dead, let's be real. No 10 to 13 year old is taking down a small gang of criminals without training outside acrobatics. In some versions even his father who had the same exact training plus actual muscle couldn't take them down.
Jason is a 50/50 there is a big chance that he becomes either another criminal in the endless see of early Gotham or a vigilante protecting crime alley and die eventually either way. Sadly there's a bug chance he becomes one of those faceless mooks Bruce punches every now and then. You could argue this is a better fate than his time as Robin and Red Hood but I disagree
Tim probably has the best ending here. He could literally just stop following Batman and have a completely normal life. That or he dies eventually following Batman around.
Barbara has police self defense training and is insanely smart. I actually genuinely think there is a solid chance she survives her time as a vigilante if she plays it safe and picks her battles. Heck if she survives long enough she could even hook up with Huntress or something.
Damian if Bruce rejected him and with no Dick in this world. Not only doesn't become a Robin but either goed back with his mother to satu with the league or becomes a sorta frank Castle style vigilante trying to prove himself to his father.
Cassandra is interesting. Not exactly sure but I think she has a chance to be picked up by some other hero out there that or she straight up gets found by her dad or mom. But if this was a connected world kind thing she probably gets picked up by Huntress and Barbara maybe?
Stephanie imo doesn't last particularly long without sufficient training. Good chance of her dying in a similar way to war games actually (god I hate that story). Again if you see this as a whole world, she probably gets picked up by Huntress and Barbara too.
Duke unless he gets his metahuman ability is pretty surely gonna die eventually. I know the least about him so not much to say here.
I'm incredibly open to arguments against my opinions tho. But I genuinely think Bruce did more good than bad here. Especially with Dick. Who while being dead would never be able to reform Damian or help Bruce chill out during those early years. To talk about how his death would affect stuff like the titans and the wider DC universe.
Damn maybe the guys who say he's the heart of the DC universe have a point.

I don't like how some writers bash or exaggerate the other batkids' behaviour and personalities in order to whumpify their favorite batfam member.
If Dick Grayson is the main character in the fic, then every other batfam member are suddenly incapable of doing the most simplest tasks and ask Dick to help them. He solves every single problem of his family because he is the 'eldest'. And he always puts a smile on his face and let's them treat him like shit.
Yes, it is true that Dick has more responsibility compared to his siblings. Not because he is the eldest; but because he has to keep an entire city safe all by himself, mentor teen sidekicks, lead the Titans, go on missions with the JL and so on. And he does this not because he has to, but because he wants to.
Also he may be more emotionally open than rest of his siblings, but thats just it. Compared to his siblings. Nightwing says puns and jokes yeah, but he is not at all can be classified as emotionally vulnurable. Dick led and mentored so many teams, and you can't do that while being light hearted and smiley all the time.
Dick is serious and firm when needed to. He doesn't baby any of his siblings (especially Damian), or act like an angel all the time. He has anger management issues and does not take bullshit from anyone. Not even his family.
He lives in Bludhaven to get away from the craziness that is Gotham. He loves his family, but he simply does not have the patience to deal with them all the time.
When the fic is about Jason, most of the plot is about him being dead and how Bruce betrayed him by replacing him. That Dick threw him in Arkham and everyone treats him like a monster.
Well firstly, Jason is not all about his death. He doesn't really bring it up unless he wants to make a point to Bruce.
Jason doesn't hate Tim because he replaced him. Jason hates Bruce, for taking in another Robin when the first one actively get murdered because of it. He beat Tim up to prove to him and Bruce that taking in a child, and making him his partner is seriously wrong. Jason hates the idea of kids becoming soldiers for a war they didn't start.
Another point is that after Jason came back from the dead, he wasn't an anti-hero. He was a full on villain that tried to kill most of the Batfamily. And no I'm not talking about him beating Tim up in the Titans tower (It was to send a message to Bruce) or cutting his throat (which he didn't. It was a small scratch):
Tumblr media
I'm talking about Battle for the Cowl, when he beat Tim up badly because he refused to be his Robin. Jason thought Tim was dead at the end of their fight (Tim slowed down his heartbeat). And this is his reaction:
Tumblr media
And yet again in Battle for the Cowl, he shot Damian. Which resulted him getting more than 70 stitches:
Tumblr media
Also this was his reaction when a nuclear powered supervillain blew up Bludhaven:
Tumblr media
He poisoned 82 inmates while 'Dick sent poor Jason into prison :('
Tumblr media
Now does this mean Jason is a bad character? Fuck no! Infact he is one of my favorite characters. Jason is such an interesting character and sometimes you can't help but condone his mistakes no matter how bad they are. Even I do this.
So what I mean is that, we should stop babying him and see him as the flawed character he is. Every single character has their own flaws and that's what makes them special.
Jason was a hero, then a villain, then an anti-hero, then again a hero.
Also he doesn't get pit episodes. The only time he got one was right after getting out of the pit. Lazarus pit did not made him violent and it's not the blame for Jason's past actions. Jason was awake and aware of the things he did. And he feels guilty. But he learned to forgive. Both himself and Bruce.
Our next member is Tim Drake. Fanon Tim Drake is a coffee addict, he is thin and small, is quiet and doesn't believe he is apart of the family. Dick stole Robin from him and gave it to 'evil and cruel' Damian who bullies him every time they interact. Jason always calls him replacement and threatens to kill him most of the time. Dick is a monster that tried to lock him up in Arkham.
God I cringed writing this. Anyways firstly Tim is, in fact, not a coffee addict. I'd say he is more of a tea person and only drinks coffee to stay awake.
Tim is not short and all skin and bones. He eats properly and is very muscled. Especially around his back and biceps. He is also not short either.
Tim is quiet, yes. But not in a shy way. He is cold and calculative and sometimes a little apathatic. He isn't scared to do what's necessary and is always ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of the mission. He also definitely sees himself apart of the family.
Another really misunderstood point is that Dick took Robin from him, when it was actually Alfred who gave Damian the Robin suit.
Yes, Damian tried to kill him multiple times and it was very traumatising for Tim. But they do get along most of the time. In fact Tim may be the second closest to Damian among the family. Because no matter what happens he loves his little brother. As it was shown when he hallucinated and hugged Damian after he died.
Jason and him may be at odds from time to time, but Jason gets along with him more than most of his siblings.
And Dick most certainly did not try to put him in Arkham. Bruce was dead and Dick saw Tim. How devastated he was, so he offered him to get therapy. Like a good brother would do.
Last but not least is Damian. I think most of the time Damian centric fics manage to represent him properly. But let's start with the ones that are the most cliche-d and wrongly written.
Damian talks the Queen's British and is spoiled. Dick Grayson is his actual father and Bruce always insults him. He trains all day and goes to patrol at night. He hates his mother, always gets his ass handed to him in a fight. Tim Drake treats him horribly and everyone calls him Demon or Demon Brat. Jason is the best brother in the world and him and Dick always protect him from Bruce's wrath. Alfred annoyes him and Damian doesn't really care about him. All of his personality is summed up with: "Yes, Father."
In actuality, Damian is most of the time sassy or straight up mocking. He uses slangs and isn't scared of disrespecting Ra's or Talia and Bruce (in fact he may be enjoying it a little).
Dick Grayson is in fact not his father figure. That title belongs to Alfred, who was always there whenever he needed him.
Damian plays video games and his favorite one is cheese vikings.
He also loves his mother and forgives her even through all does horrible things she does to him. He is most likely conditioned to feel that way. Because it's not normal to treat someone normally after they murder you. He is also an exceptionally good fighter.
Tim Drake is possibly his second closest sibling. They banter and fight sometimes, yes. But they still very much care for each other. When Tim was thought to be dead, Damian was shown to be holding his bo staff and mourning.
Him and Jason were never close. Jason tried to kill him and so did Damian. They don't know each other well and Damian does not want to; since at the time he was Robin, Jason was a villain that actively tried to hurt him and Dick.
I don't think anyone ever called him a Demon Brat. Or if they did it was probably like one time, since I couldn't find any panels that refer to him that way.
Damian is the most rebellious and hot headed Robin. He doesn't shy from saying what wants or stepping up to Bruce. In fact those two are the ones who fight the most in the family. Even more than Tim and Damian.
And Bruce doesn't always insult or bench him. He just straight up ignores him or his needs and always puts him in second.
There are obviously way more than these, but I'll stop for today. No hate to the creators, this is just my own opinion.

Something I really like about Fast Forward is that it's doing a bit and you know it's doing a bit, just not the one you may think.
At first, it tells you that this is the world to come after the Shredder(s) has been defeated and all evil has been banished:
Tumblr media
But then it does a backflip and goes "ACTUALLY, this is what happens when Bishop is left unsupervised for fifty years!"
Which is the funniest thing they could ever do.
I admit I wasn't entirely sold on the president thing at first. Bishop is so unapologetically a piece of shit up to his appearance in FF that it just can't be, right? But then the show goes on to introduce more details about this supposed bright future and it starts to really sink in that it actually has Bishop written all over it.
As much as I love the idea of Bishop finally going to therapy, what's really implied is that one day he stopped trying to create the perfect genetic abomination and started to study vertical urbanization. New New York exists on multiple levels, all resting on the old city, with different lanes for hovercars and basically several mini atmospheres. Unless common people were suddenly perfectly fine with aliens showing up to reshape everybody's homes, someone who already had experience with alien technology had to be involved.
This is also probably one of the last major operations of the EPF as such before it was converted in, I guess, the first elite security force for the PGA. It's a shame they had to start dressing like mini Megatrons, but they had to curate their PR like the soon to be president. From this point onward, Bishop probably had a saying in just about everything else. He sponsored the alliance and probably suggested androids should be allowed to vote at some point. As he had come to believe that dialogue was an option, he definitely pushed to sell the idea that welcoming aliens was the way into the new utopia in ways his old self would have never dreamed of.
Logistics aside, it’s clear that Bishop has worked to make himself a central piece (pun intended) of this new system which is definitely an improvement, as he won’t make his fear of total annihilation everybody else's problem anymore, but it's also much worse than it was before.
And this is where not even rocking a dress will hide that he's still the same old bastard at heart. Yes, he's the president and he's very popular. But he's still the guy who complimented the Slayer's looks too and his ego hasn't vanished overnight. It's safe to say the president of the PGA would have the power to avoid having his name being put on the goddamn Moon but no, he's definitely gloated about Moonbase Bishop more than once.
Which brings me back to this damn statue again.
Tumblr media
This is not healthy.
And a little surprising. I mean, I get the joke. This is the Prometheus statue that's at that one ice skating rink in New York but it's Bishop at the zero gravity rink. It's also funny in contest considering Prometheus is one of the Titans in Greek mythology and it's featured in the episode Clash of the Turtle Titans and I love that Bishop has supposedly sworn off violence and isn't playing preferences but still managed to suplex a guy in spirit.
But still, Atlas would have been more appropriate. Bishop is absolutely convinced that he's the PGA the way he was EPF. It would be more fitting, but I understand the world just isn't ready for the President's bare chest.

Seeing Eda acting like some kind of responsible adult is wild. Though not completely out of character. She has been taking her role as a mother more seriously as of late… and both of the kids under her wing (pun unintended, but hilarious nonetheless) have gone through a lot, Luz especially. Telling them that they need to find someplace to hide while the adults take care of the dangers is reasonable enough.
You know, one of the  reasons a lot of young protagonists have dead parents or abusive/neglectful parents/guardians is because most parents would try to stop their kids from going on dangerous adventures. This has been brought up in the show in the form of Camila. Luz fearing that if Camila ever found out about the Demon Realm, she wouldn’t let Luz go back there has been a thing ever since season one.
Contrast with Eda, who’s allowed Luz to go along on these dangerous, but exciting adventures… until now. I can see why Luz might not agree with Eda’s decision on this* but at the same time, I fully understand where Eda is coming from.
(*i can kinda see this leading to a moment where Luz is like ”You can’t tell me what to do, you’re not my mom,” or something like that and oof, that’d hurt Eda on a deep level)
Tumblr media
This image right here? Good shit.
Let’s break down this plan. Lilith suggests sending the kids off to the island to find out about King’s family and possibly gather powerful allies. That’s good. She suggests sending Hooty with them as protection. Which is not a great idea. The island is far away from the main body of the Titan, far away from Belos and danger, which is good. Unless there is danger on the island, which would be bad.
Luz suggests they can go there with the crew of the ship she journeyed with to slay the Selkidomus. Which is a god idea, they all liked Luz.
As the kids leave the room, Lilith says that she has already explored that area and that there is nothing there, dismissing the letter as some kind of prank. She does so with one of the best puns in the history of this show. A wild Luz chase. Brilliant, Lulu, brilliant.
…then again, she said that the island with King’s tower shouldn’t have been there either, soooo… and that rock thing he got in the letter is clearly some kind of key, soooooo…
Tumblr media
Aw man… everyone’s sad today, huh?
This is what I was talking about before. Luz and King being children really shouldn’t have to deal with all of this and Eda, who has realized how big this all is, is terrified of them getting hurt. On top of that, she feels a bit guilty for getting Luz involved in this. If only… if only she hadn’t left the portal open that one day, if only she had sent Luz home right away instead of involving her in the Confomratorium break-in, if only, if only. That kinda thinking isn’t going to do much to help in the now, but it is understandable that she feels this way.
Oh, and Lilith? i admire your optimism, but one(1) week to come up with a plan to overthrow a tyrant who controls the entire military and everyone with magical powers is… not a lot. Especially when all you have to work with are two(2) middle-aged witches who can’t use magic (though one has a cool harpy form) and maybe like… Gwendolyn is pretty strong I guess? Dunno about Dell, he seems pretty frail. What other adults might be on their side… There’s Raine, Darius and Eberwolf, but they’re doing their own thing. Alador, maybe (I’m still holding out hope he has some override to turn all the Abomatons against the Emperor). Maybe Gus & Willow’s parents. The Bat Queen, possibly (her leading an army of palismen against Belos might be kinda cool actually).
Tumblr media
Yarr me mateys, Luz is back to being a pirate! Call her Monkey D. Luzzy.
(i’ve been sitting here for like five minutes giggling at my own pun. who gave me the right to be so funny?)
The captain of the ship, Salty, says that his mateys had to leave the ship after they no longer worked for the Golden Guard. Like Eda said back in Separate Tides, the Emperor’s ships are the only ones worth robbing. So i guess even Salty the sea captain doesn’t get to be happy in this episode.
Hooty mentions that large rock formation on the island kinda looks like a finger, which I briefly considered saying before when I saw the drawing, but didn’t. I also thought it looked a little like one of King’s horns, although the shape is different. Upon closer look, it does looks more like a finger.
Looking at one of the few shots we get of the Titan’s whole body I notice that we don’t get to see the Titan’s left arm or hand. So that part of its body might be submerged and this is one of its fingers sticking out of the water. Unless… there was a mention once of there being remains of other massive creatures on the boiling sea, but only partial ones. This could be one of those as well. The finger bone of some other massive, long-dead creature. Another Titan? Or something else?
Tumblr media
And tonight on ”If The Lampman had waited just a few more seconds…” Salty confirms that this is not part of the Titan. He says it’s ”a different bestie.” Which kinda makes it sound like it’s a completely different creature, unrelated to the Titan… though I think it might still be another Titan.

Starfire headcanons? :-)
Yes, I love talking about my girl Kory!
While she's always a fashion icon when she goes out, she opts for more casual clothes when she's at home She also likes to put her hair in puns when she's doing household chores bc it's practical (and because I think she would look cute on that hairstyle).
When she first arrived on Earth fellow Titans introduced her to anime. She's still a big fan and her favourite character of all time is Sailor Moon.
Once Dick and Roy got into an argument (bc they always find excuses to argue xD) over which is the Ultimate Starfire song. Dick chose "Alien Superstar" by Beyonce and Roy "Starlight" by Muse. Kory didn't want to upset them so she said both are great choices. In reality she didn't like either song because she has a real weird taste in music ( and it's part of her charm!)
Koriand'r is the sweetest person you know, unless you harm one of her friends. Then, she can be scary as hell
She's humble so she would never tell you that during training sessions she has kicked all of her team members asses ( not at the same time but still impressive). But honestly knowing how powerful Starfire actually is was anyone expecting anything less?
Most people believe Kory is incapable of cursing. The truth is that she does curse but she does it on her native language.

I wanna know more about your chaotic neutral human?!
Oh man where do I begin 😂
I started writing him in 2015, and that kinda blows my mind when I think about it. I've played him as a faerie prince, Utahraptor shifter, dragon shifter, werewolf, alien, Titan pilot, X-Men style mutant, and normal human. Well, as normal as he can get.
His name is Rowan Castañeda. He's Catalan (when he's from Earth, anyway). The 'default' version of him is the one where he's a raptor shifter, because that's where it started all those years ago. That version also goes by the name Red, because his dinosaur form has red feathers and reptilian eyes. His human form has red eyes and sharp canines, which are hidden by a magical charm that gives him brown eyes and normal teeth.
The best way to sum up Rowan is by saying he's a little crazy and a lot of fun. Very loud and outgoing, loves people. Has more than enough intellect and common sense to clearly and easily grasp something is a Bad Idea, and enough chaotic dumbass energy to decide he's gotta just go ahead with it anyway. Way too fond of bad puns, incapable of keeping his mouth shut when he can comment on something he shouldn't. Loyal to the death, curious about everything, isn't sure how he hasn't been poisoned by food from sketchy street vendors, and interrupts conversations to point out cats. His main interests include dinosaurs, space, Star Trek, historical novels, and monster movies (the cheesier the better). Don't touch his hat or invade his personal space unless you're looking to get your ass kicked, which will almost certainly involve biting. Fluent in Latin and will bitch people out in it (or will ramble about how unbelievably smoking his wife is, Gomez Addams style).
His playby is Óscar Jaenada, originally from The Losers. This BTS gif from (it was an interview I think?) immediately cemented the idea of a playby for him bc it was so exactly what I had in mind. Cocky little fucker who would suckerpunch God to protect his family, or even if it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
Tumblr media
He's bisexual and nonbinary, and grew up in Ripley, California with an older sister (Laura) and twin brother (Raul). His brother disappeared when they were sixteen, and a year later, Rowan was kicked out by his parents for being queer. He moved to Los Angeles to live with his uncle, a Marine Corps veteran, and Rowan followed in his footsteps by enlisting at eighteen. He became a highly skilled sniper but turned down promotions because he liked the job he had.
At twenty-one he impulsively married a girl named Amber, who he'd known for three hours. The next year, they had a daughter named Elena. She was born partially deaf and Rowan became fluent in ASL to communicate with her.
At twenty-nine, he was injured in the line of duty and got a medical discharge. His sister divorced a few months ago, and she and her daughter Alejandra moved to a new house with Rowan's family, since her ex was being a dipshit and Rowan wanted her to be protected.
He started college courses to become a paleontologist. (Yes, the dinosaur shifter has a dinosaur-related job. I think I'm funny.) He was active in fieldwork for another 5-10 years, depending on the timeline, before taking a job as a curator at a dinosaur museum so he could be home more and have more regular hours.
In my favourite version of his character, his new curator job was at a museum in Gotham, cause that town is clearly the first choice of any normal and well-adjusted individual. He was also an active vigilante, bc nobody believed the criminals saying a dinosaur attacked them, and he had zero concern of being connected to his illegal activities.
Bonus Rowan art from when he's older in his forties:

I assume it is indeed actual blood from a Titan, seeing as Eclipse Lake and its tunnel systems were noted to be specifically the Titan’s veins. It’s possible it changes as he grows, but I think it’s not unlikely that Hooty just didn’t recognize it-- Titan’s Blood is incredibly rare, remember, and they didn’t have that glove’s worth of it to reference until the next episode. Hooty had probably never seen Titan’s Blood before.
Tumblr media
Yesss that’s so cute. And also worries me slightly that we may see King get hurt enough to bleed, maybe even more than that one shot of Dell, because I’m reminded of how in the film of Stardust, they had the princes all bleed blue as a simultaneous pun and way to keep the rating down.
Tumblr media
It is pretty cute, yeah-- I want to say ‘he can’t have known, can we really give him credit?” but tbh that’s true of most of his accidental success in that episode, ha.
Tumblr media
Oof, yeah. I do suspect that Eda and Lilith aren’t in there, either, which makes it easy pickings. Endgame time....
Tumblr media
I mean, I don’t know if that makes it 100% clear-- the skulls they wear are Titans’ skulls themselves, so the attacker there could still be another Titan, especially since he seems quite large (unless he’s just foregrounded a LOT). I’m not saying that’s definitely not what it shows, I’m just saying it’s not definitely what it shows, you know?
But yeah, Jean-Luc’s flesh magic is definitely concerningly familiar-- but I wouldn’t necessarily connect that to the Collector? Luz found that glyph in and among all the others in Philip’s diary, and he’d clearly been working on making very complex glyph arrays (such as the teleportation one) well before he made contact with the Collector. I think it’s more likely that, given that the glyphs are ‘commanding the surrounding magic’, that flesh is more just one of the Titan’s Humours, it’s an element, you know? I don’t think I distrust Jean-Luc. We’ll see.
Tumblr media
It’s possible for sure! The Collector is definitely double-dipping, and has multiple plans to ensure his freedom in place, but I don’t know if he set up their initial hatred of Titans-- they seem to have only known him as a trapped creature, one they wish to free by slaying the last Titan, and presumably if he’d already made contact with him when they were doing some slaying in the Hunts of Old they could have freed him then. Hmm.
It is a bit funny that the Collector is helping Philip try to Murder All Witches while being fully aware and casually not mentioning there are wild witches on other islands, haha.
Tumblr media
I apoligize for giggling at your typo but now I’m thinking of Camila as Carmilla.
But yeah, it’s a great character flaw, and very nicely delivered, her tendency to exaggerate things in her mind. I definitely wouldn’t blame her lack of friends on it, though-- remember that she was bullied for her ‘weirdness’, and that she made friends with Willow and Gus really quickly, and also that Vee pretty much met the human world immediately being sent off to normie camp-- where she necessarily met other weird kids who someone had thought needed to be toned down. They accepted her weird out-of-world awkwardness just like she accepted theirs. Remember that she says “these guys” are cool, when Luz is warning her to beware of teenagers. Luz was bullied by bullies, not because she’s not confident in herself.
Tumblr media
That’s cute as hell tbh. He’s been so scared of losing her, and now he’s gonna be the key to everything. That’s a lot of responsibility to put on such a little guy’s head, but... he can make a way through.

I love Teen Titans Beast Boy but now that I know that Beast Boy is actually really really smart, as much as I love his comedic potential, or how he played the comedic relief in the Teen Titans comics...I feel like dumbing him down was really...idk lazy writing
I mean okay if the rest of the cast thinks Beast Boy is dumb because he plays class clown all the time and generally people don't equate humor with intelligence (which is wrong because intelligent people do have a sense of humor. You gotta be pretty witty to be able to make people laugh. Idk why we think like this) that would be okay but it's pretty clear in the original Teen Titans show with the many puns of how Beast Boy doesn't have a brain and how he was easily brainwashed by Mad Mod that...it's not him acting dumb, it's really the show making fun of his lack of intelligence compared to the rest of the cast...and that ain't cool
I still have an affection for Teen Titans show Beast Boy, but I actually want to see Beast Boy being used at his fullest potential with his comedy and his intelligence.
It seems Young Justice and Titans might be doing that. I love the personality that Garfield shows in DC Titans. How he's so into vintage things, old games, and movies. Ugh, I love that! He's so cool and rad!
And I love how Young Justice really showcases him as a leader (though Idk doesn't his character try to avoid that because of the abuse he went through with Mento and his earlier guardians. Young Justice focuses a lot on Beast Boy's trauma over the losses in his life but there's no mention of the fact that Garfield was also a victim of abuse as a child and how much that affected him. Either way, it's great they're exploring his depression. I think that's awesome! Along with how he created the Outsiders instead of having Batman do that...of course, it's later revealed that Batman and co. have been manipulating events to make the Outsiders prominent to the public but...I still think in YJ, the Outsiders was Beast Boy's invention and I love how much of a major role he plays in YJ. I hope if they renew another season we see more of him instead of just focusing on the old cast members, just focus on more of the newer generation like Beast Boy, Blue Beetle, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Robin (Tim Drake), El Dorado, Halo, and Forager.
Anyway, I'm ranting...if these mediums don't satisfy me, I'm just gonna go look for the Garfield Logan comics because I mean I think he's so underrated and he must be a lot more considering all the versions I see of him. Just wish someone would focus on both the comedy and the intelligence he has. YJ does show a more intelligent and serious Gar, but where's the comedy? Hopefully, in the future we'll see it... and I haven't finished Titans to give a good diagnosis of what my final thoughts on Gar is just yet in that show. Teen Titans cartoon though, as much as I love him as a comedic relief, it's unfair that they keep making jokes about his intelligence. He's actually a very smart kid.
I mean I think I read a post that said his IQ was 143, both his biological parents were genius scientists and he was experimented on in order to be smarter...just like Cyborg actually. I mean, of course, Garfield is smart! Unless I'm confusing him with someone else?

Okay, I might be overdramatique because I'm pure tears pal but I have some incomprehensible babble to spew and my tumblr will suffer collateral damage of it.
So hi hello. In the Internet sphear I go by Percy. And if you don't know me, my favourite anime of all times is Kill la Kill.
For some reason, I catch myself rewatching it every now and then. I thought I might be watching it extra critically this time but I got lost in the sauce by the 3rd ad and didn't feel like doing any deeper inspection.
(No joke if that's how americans watch anime no fucking wonder you need power of anime AND gods on your side. In 24 episodes I've watched more ads in minutes than actual episodes, that's fucking insane. Nothing is sacred anymore, I swear)
KlK also marks one of my last anime ever watched. It aired in 2013, I think, and I've seen the OVA (I don't remember a bit of it though) but then somehow in 2014, I've started Akumo no Riddle but got bored by like episode 4 and never picked it, or any other series, again. In me teens I just couldn't justify wasting time watching anime, when I could actively do other stuff I enjoy and that requires more than physical form (aka I do something-anything).
I clearly have a soft spot for it. For some folk it is weird; on one hand I have a... Complicated relationship with nudity. One can say I do not like it very much. But it never crossed my mind that in 24 episodes, 80% of it is spent half naked. I just kind of got the nudity is used for narrative purposes and paid it no mind. For some it's just fan service for all the weebos to beat their meat to the drawing or whatever.
Well, I love the graphical style and prowess of KlK. I think (is the key word here) that klk and attack on titan (the title I use for it does not tranlsate into English and you cannot appreciate the peak of my humour, sadly) are semi close on the time line. And I remembered a lot of people going head over heels for attack's style, but I always liked klk's more. Also music-wise klk blows the attack on nonsense outta the water. Like, they wish they had such a good track in the series. Don't even get me FUCKING started on Garnidelia! A QUEEN.
And I've been crying for 10 minutes over Senketsu's death. Like a bitch. I've seen this ending like 5 times by now and it never fucking fails. Your fave could never 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Also also, not a gospel or anything, so take it with grain of salt but I vaguely remember one day reading that Kill la Kill's title is actually a pun. What some people have noticed not a lot of killing takes place. Kiru ra kiru, as it could be pronounced, would be "to cut" and "to wear", which is quintessentially what the whole series is about. But then again, I'm not sure when, where or how I've read that and I'm also not well acquainted with Japanese (which is a polite way to say I can't read or speak it at all)(unless the meme-y japanglish counts; arigathanks gozaimuch and yamete kudastop and so on and so forth), so yeah. Take it and consider me an idiot making shit up, that's the safer way out lmfao.
Anyway, yeah, I'm a little vulnerable here, crying my eyes out to my pillow. Good night or something?

Sometimes I wonder if things aligned for them to reunite either on screen or Big Finish if Peter and Jenna might get to play 12 and Clara a bit more romantic seeing as time has past and Jenna is a bit older now (so maybe the age gap has lessened enough that a 12 and Clara kiss wouldn’t be out of the question).
Doubtful. Although WE might be all for it, except for a couple of outliers (such as James Goss and Jenny Colgan and whoever wrote Clara Oswald and the School of Death for Titan Comics) my impression is a lot of the expanded franchise writers aren't that interested. Or they're more interested in pairing Clara and Danny or others - the only Big Finish audio to date featuring Clara is an Eleventh Doctor story that basically chronicles how she met Jane Austen, and when they actually had Jenna Coleman record for them (when Big Finish and BBC Audio a.k.a. the now-defunct AudioGo co-produced the Destiny of the Doctors audio books for the 50th), they omitted Clara completely and had Eleven work with a one-off companion which was a huge disappointment. There was a book published for charity about 5 years ago that focused on Clara, and it was disappointingly thin on Whouffaldi, with more apparent interest in OTP’ing her with Austen. (Fortunately I was able to get a story published in a later collection, The Hybrid, which was exclusively dedicated to Twelve/Clara stories.)
Of course, never say never: some fans of the Fourth Doctor have apparently detected hints of romance between Four and Leela, of all people, in some of the later Tom Baker/Louise Jameson recordings for Big Finish. (I've only heard one and I didn't catch anything) and Peri and the Piscon Paradox at least acknowledged that Peri Brown found Five to be attractive. The romance I think is going to have be in the purview of the fanfic writers and those of us who study Clara's 33 or so episodes. On TV, certainly they've been more interested in pushing another ship recently, and if Neil Patrick Harris' comments about what's planned for the Gatwa Doctor are correct (I'm not saying Fourteenth yet because I'm not convinced he isn't playing the Fifteenth) there may be a totally different direction in store. And Moffat himself seemed hell bent (pun intended) on erasing Clara from not only the show's memory with the ill-timed Husbands of River Song, but he doubled down by having Missy forget Clara too. (I actually was compelled to write a full-out fix-it about that a year or so ago.)
As for whether Peter and Jenna could team up to do a project that might allow a but more romance ... again, never say never. But unless Peter scores a role in The Sandman (as someone other than The Thinker), I wouldn't hold my breath.

Liveblogging The Owl House finale!
(I'll put a break here, this gets pretty long)
Immediately picking up from the previous episode, everyone gets abducted by ribbons (puppet strings? The Collector does has an affinity for puppets)
King's Dad?!?!
Luz is wearing Belos' Season 2 attire. The palace is similar but instead of a gold/black colour scheme, it's white/silver.
What's up with the giant heart in the throne room? Was that ever explained? Is it the Titan's heart, despite the rest of him being skeletal??
THAT'S NOT AMITY!
Back-to-back nightmare sequences (presumably) Can the Collector manipulate dreams?
Bill's completely blacked-out eyes are kinda freaking me out.
Witch's Battle! We've come full circle baby!
So they did get collected, and it is a nightmare. Also, weirdly, Hunter didn't have any strings around him like the other three until they all got yoinked away again.
"Get over here you witch." They knew exactly what they were doing with that line
Belos didn't know King is a Titan. I guess there was no way/reason for him to know.
Yep that smile definitely doesn't look completely unhinged.
OOOO psychic battle between Raine and Belos
The puppets! They're alive!!
Pac-man, marbles, and Jenga. how would the Collector know about these very human games? They don't have the excuse of being an extra-dimensional entity, they've been trapped in a disc for thousands of years
Aw, they are trying! In their own sort of twisted way of course.
The Collector's backstory is actually kinda sad. They really are just a child. I feel like if the series hadn't gotten chopped The Archivists could've been a bigger bad than Belos
... what vessel? That's concerning
It IS the Titan's/island's heart! Despite Raine's best efforts Belos barely got through, AGAIN.
Light Glyph. Light Glyph. Light Glyph. Light Glyph. The most pivotal Glyph Luz learned
Collector continues to be unhinged in the most terrifying and hilarious way.
Belos has officially gone full Kaijuu. The spread is different than his usual green goop with eyes it's more... radioactive mutated vegetation?
if the very evil ""man"" could be defeated with the power of fwendship I think that would've happened by now.
Oof. That question about Collector not knowing/understanding mortality comes back huh.
Some of the lights in boxes we've seen in the in-between were people's souls, then?
King's Dad! Also the figure we saw at the beginning of the last episode! A bathrobe, Bad Girl Coven tee (lmao), and pj pants with the glyphs on them
Luz now literally has the blessing of the Titan.
Like mother, like daughter lol
Is Belos pulling a Toffee and draining/corrupting all magic in the realm?
Twinkly magical girl Luz!
I guess not, since glyphs still work
The Collector doing ONE good thing after tormenting the denizens of the Boiling Isles for months
Raine's still alive. I partly would've figured they've gotten grown/gooped over
She couldn't think of anything to say upon her return but monologs as she's ripping Belos out of the heart
She's not buying your shit Phillip
I was kinda hoping Hunter would've got the final blow, catharsis and all that
Bread puns run in King's family
I just noticed that Titan!Luz had a fang on the opposite side as Eda
The Archives kinda look like a crown on top of the Titan's skull
Aww everyone gets their families back, but... Hunter doesn't have a family unless he's adopted by Darius or Eda or someone (It's Darius)
Of COURSE those three would want the throne
Time skip Luz is going to the BI for college (how would that work if she has no magic and glyphs don't work anymore?)
"Luz, you saw them last week" lmao
Vee's still living with Camilla even though it technically is safe for her to return?
Ah, the kid's hideout has been made into a permanent portal
Awww they made a grave marker for Flapjack!
Marthamule has an actual mustache now
Lilith has control of her curse and can do a harpy thing like Eda
Amity's got a pirate look going on now
They removed the Coven sigils! Darius is both super excited and also trying to play it cool
Oh, that's what Raine's palasman is, I don't think we've seen it before.
University of Wild Magic and Eda's headmistress
It's wholesome in it's own Boiling Isles way
King can do glyphs!
Last minute forth wall break?
(I accidentally placed a poll here so I'm just rolling with it)

More things about my OC Aurelia!
(So that she makes better sense lol)
May contain spoilers!
Backstory/sad stuff:
TW: some mild family trauma, mentions of separation/divorce
You learn early in the game that your character moved recently, so I decided to make her Unovan
Moved from Unova for her mom’s career
(Also the lack of a father in the game means hers is absent. in this case her dad ran off with another woman so Aurelia and her mom needed a change in life)
Aside her mom being busy with her career she’s had a good relationship with her:
lack of a father did make things tough for a bit
So Aurelia generally has a mistrust in boys (shocker, right?)
A Little insecure about her body image (on top of natural young adult things and being from Unova, where beauty standards are wild sometimes)
She did experience bullying in Unova for not quite fitting in, so it takes time for her to open up if someone approaches her for friendship
Personality:
She is neurodivergent coded: her special interests are particular Pokémon (lucario, Pikachu, dog Pokémon, etc), music, the arts, literature, and likes to doodle when she can
Sensitive emotions are always a thing for her, so she can feel a lot at times
Definitely one of those “I’m quiet at first but when you really get to know me I go nuts” people
If y’all really wanna know, she’s a Cancer in the zodiac (so maybe they call it being a Klawfy? Krabber? Idk crab Pokémon puns)
Very close with her Pokémon. Some of her team doubles as emotional support because her lucario is in touch with her emotions. (The power of aura, baybeee 🌀)
Trust and honesty are huge for her, she’s a bad liar unless it’s a good surprise for someone/something
Quality time and physical touch are her two biggest love languages, but she tries to mix in a few others is she sees that a friend needs help or whatnot
Will Listen in conversation first unless she has special information pertaining to a subject, or is super excited about one of her hyperfixations and “I just need to tell you this cool thing I found” energy
Just wants to be a good friend most of the time, she is prone to loneliness
She’s very sweet, but if you hurt her friends or piss her off, she’s a little scary.
Cue the Unovan accent coming out and using a mix of Unovan/Paldean swears if she finds out someone hurt her friend
Fiesty, she would fistfight the bullies if she could without getting in trouble
And she’d absolutely win, she’s scary when she’s angry.
General UVA shenanigans/storyline
She is able to nurture a love for her new Pokémon once she becomes a UVA student
Does overwhelm emotionally easily, she’s an extraverted introvert and highly loyal to her friends, which meant choosing her first path was hard because she didn’t want to let anyone down
The first path she completes is the champion one because she wants to get stronger with her Pokémon, for the purpose of being able to better protect herself and her loved ones 🥹
After the third titan she realized she caught feelings for Arven
She becomes a giggly, bashful mess when he compliments her
Takes her till after Area Zero to confess her feelings
It was nowhere near her original plan, but it still worked somehow lol
She loves talking about figurines and Pokémon with Penny, type techniques with Nemona, and will listen to just about anything on Arven’s mind (she’s a simp)
Was absolutely PISSED when she made the connection about the professor and Arven
She almost gave the Professor a piece of her mind because she knows what it’s like to have an absent parent
Almost fist-fought some of the star grunts for their remarks about her friend or the fact she was known to have chased off the other two grunts from Penny
She loves sharing tidbits of info about someone’s favorite subject
Not just as a way to impress them, but to show she cares, listens and wants them to be happy
Loves baking, but hasn’t gotten used to the switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit so she doesn’t do it as often yet.
Her strong subjects are in literature, home ec, the arts, and she remembers type matchups very well
Not as great with math and some biology
She had to retake the math final a couple times, she just needed to let things sink in, the poor girl.
Doesn’t have a favorite teacher, but she really enjoys most of her classes.
She was a little nervous when she began to realize the star squad bosses were all different victims of bullying. She wanted to hug Eri after beating her.
And when Cassiopeia revealed herself she almost cried right then and there, but she knew what needed to be done.
General appearance:
She is short, 5’0”
Pale blue eyes, sometimes they look steel-blue in different lighting
She’s midsize, so not skinny but not unhealthy
She is rather plush in the thigh department, something she was once insecure about from Unovan beauty standards until she learned they had different uniform accommodations
Her medium brown hair falls just past her shoulders when it’s down in a long bob, but she loves putting it into a romantic tuck
She just thinks it’s neat how her hair falls and curves in the style
Definitely wears glasses. Her eyes are sensitive to extreme light so she gets a prescription that will help her tolerate sudden light flashes from Tera battles
She has fair skin, so she burns easily (not used to the sun as much from the part of Unova she lived in)
This made the first few picnics and outings a little awkward because Arven wondered why she kept getting sunburnt
After she told him where she was from, he now always has a travel size thing of sunscreen when they’re out because she forgets sometimes. She’s goofy
If y’all wanna know more about her, I’m working on some short skits of how she’d interact with the rivals, the gym leaders, maybe a little something about Area Zero. I hope you enjoyed learning about Aurelia!

Where we last left off, Luz & Hunter found themselves within another memory of Belos in his early days, traveling from village to village, preaching the will of the Titan. We see a small town burning, a fire most certainly set by Belos himself. It looks like it might be up on The Knee. Wasn’t there some ruins up there? I’d go check, but uh… I don’t feel like doing it right now, soooo… I’ll do it later. And by that I mean ”I will forget to do it later.”
(The Child also grabbed a sack from the previous memory and a rope in this one. What’s he up to?)
Belos led the survivors to (relative) safety and introduced them to his coven system, with the coven sigils which were supposed to protect them from their own magic running wild. Only for him to then immediately activate the sigils, leaving everyone there paralyzed and unable to do anything as the Golden Guard begins collecting their palismen. As we continue, Luz and Hunter witness Belos leaving these innocent people to die in the cold.
And I kinda played it off in the last post, but this is disturbing. Like genuinely disturbing. I knew Belos was a manipulative and cold-hearted man that treated people like pawns but seeing it carried out at this scale and so methodically… it’s very unsettling. And dying in the cold too… let’s just say, the last week or so has made me remember just how scary cold can be. I can only hope those poor witches were unconscious and didn’t lay there awake but unable to move as the elements claimed them.
Tumblr media
”Well maybe I’m an idiot!”
Eh, maybe, but not that kind of idiot.
Jeez Louise, this kid could go to the olympics with these mental gymnastics.
This is what King was talking about before, about how ”No one wants to think they’ve wasted their life following the wrong person.” This is especially true for Hunter, who was raised by Belos and views him as family.
I spotted two other paintings. The first one is blocked by Hunter except for a few short moments, but I managed to get a good look on it. It looks like it might be Philip, looking out over the isles, with the head of the Titan in the far distance.
The second painting we get a little better look at in a second as Hunter starts running after The Child. It depicts Philip, as we saw him in Elsewhere and Elsewhen. He’s holding his diary and talking to two witches. At first, I thought it might be Lilith and Luz, but… they look a  bit off. For one thing, they’re both holding magic staffs, which neither of them used during their time travel excursion. It also looks like ”Dirtrude” has horns, and ”Luzura” is missing her helmet. So unless this really is an example of Belos memory being wrong like Hunter suggested was what was going on in the memory where he murdered a bunch of innocent people in cold (no pun intended) blood, those are different people.
Tumblr media
Before Hunter can catch up to The Child, the monstrous form of Inner Belos appears and strikes a pose very similar to the one that can be spotted on the painting in the background. Possibly the first time Philip/Belos turned into his mutated monster form?
I spotted another painting that was on screen for a fraction of a second before Hunter blocked it. It’s two people in sillhouette… sillouette… sillouhette… shadows. I think one of them might be Brother Wittebane and the other… I’m not so sure, but it kinda looks like they’re wearing a dress? So most likely not Philip. They’re holding hands. The witch Brother Wittebane had Hunter with perhaps?*
(*unless that theory I have turns out to be true)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I spotted these paintings here. I saw the first one and at first thought it was Hunter, but no. He has round ears, so that’s clearly Brother Wittebane, Hunter’s father. And he’s hugging (what’s probably) Philip after he turned into a monster.
In the second painting, we can see Philip, looking similar but slightly different from how he appeared in Elsewhere and Elsewhen (I don’t think his beard is as long as it was in that episode). He is holding a knife behind his back… We also see Brother Wittebane smiling at his brother.
The third painting looks like Philip (in his monster form maybe?) holding the knife while Brother Wittebane pleads with him.
Tumblr media
The Child is leading them towards this painting, deep within the dead woods. This tree is slightly different. It’s ice blue for one thing. It’s surrounded by stars and a moon and has the symbol of The Collector on it. The painting itself shows the portal door.
