theory for why John’s ability seems to be returning a bit in recent unordinary episodes!
the ability disabler seems to reset your level to 0, but for John, his ability has the potential to go much higher (assuming Jane has the same ability). So even if you take away the 7.5 ability potential he lost when his ability was taken, because his potential should be at least 9.3 (like hers), so he should be able to gain another 1.8 levels of ability on his own (ignoring the fact that for plot reasons he and sera will defs get it back properly soon enough)
Sucked for Sera tho, im guessing her ability was so perfected that it couldn’t get much above 8.0 if at all, explaining why she hadn’t seen any signs of returning when he has.

Okay, this is a stretch but (tl;dr at the end)
-
Latest episode, Kassandra says that "after her investigation is done, someone else will be sitting in Vaughn's chair," implying that she is trying to get Vaughn fired.
NOW, keep in mind, that Vaughn was probably the only thing that kept the authorities from taking Sera and putting her in readjustment classes for reading Unordinary, therefore, if Vaughn is gone, the authorities will gain much more power over the students of Wellston (especially the stronger ones, John, Sera, Blyke, Remi, etc)
-
Idk why, but I keep thinking about a what-if, if Seraphina became a villain/anti-hero? So, let's take John into example:
Betrayed by his close ones
Taken into readjustment classes
Watched his bestfriend (Sera) get nulled and beaten up multiple times
Cracked under pressure and began abusing (idk the right word) or just beating people up
-
Now, if Seraphina goes to readjustment classes, I could see a connection between the two
Gets betrayed/abandoned by the ones close to her (her own parents and sister)
Watches John get hurt and nulled
Taken into readjustment classes
Goes after the people who hurt John, aka Spectre
-
Just like how John went after the people who hurt Sera, e.g the kidnappers. What I'm saying is, I think Sera will repeat John's own mistakes, just in her own POV with things a big different, as well as other storylines being added (ember, vigilantes, arlo & valerie, doc, blah blah blah)
-
Tl;dr: I think after John gets nulled, Seraphina will do a 360 in what John had done with Joker and Wellston, but this time to Spectre (and in a more spy-y kind of way)

Literally insane to me how small the general webtoon fandom is outside of the webtoon app itself (and maybe reddit??)
I've talked to multiple people irl who LOVE reading webtoon, but the online community is borderline threadbare ! Most people on Tumblr have no IDEA who our blorbos are! I've checked tags for some fairly popular webtoon and it was like visiting that Tatooine town in the Mandalorian where there are 5 citizens total, but only if you also count the Mayor, the sheriff, and the deputy.
Lore Olympus is the most popular webtoon and has under 2,000 fics on AO3. Lookism has roughly 1,000. Unordinary, THEE legacy webtoon, only has 600, and it's been running for almost 7 years now. It has nearly 6M subscribers and still gets 50K+ likes each week. It's not dead by any means.
I guess it doesn't help that each webtoon is its own micro ecosystem and once a webtoon ends, that ecosystem typically fades with it. But webtoons can go on runs longer than most shows on streaming services, and those fandoms burn hot and bright even if only for the first month of a new season drop.
By comparison, webtoon fans are largely casual about their enthusiasm, even if they're highly invested in the story or characters. From my experience, only the most passionate try to connect with other fans online. But when you're passionate about one webtoon, I suppose it's hard to show constant excitement about the 20+ other stories one might keep up with. Still, between the 85 million monthly readers, you'd think each major webtoon would at least have a dedicated fan base (meaning people who regularly post theories, thoughts, fics, and fanart) of mere thousands outside of the app.
One exception for this is that Batman webtoon? It actually trends on Tumblr every now and again. But it doesn't count, because Batman has a built in fandom who'll eat up and yell in the streets about any content where he's a decent dad.
People who read romance webtoon all tend to read the same comics, and actively understand the references to other popular romance comics (Trashta, Team Seojun, SLS), so you'd think there'd be a greater sense of unity. More people actively searching out others to discuss with and posting their thoughts online and not just in that webtoon's comment section.
I mean, C'MON girls!!! Millions of people log into that app like everyday!!! WHERE is the community?? WHERE is the fanart?? WHERE is the fanfic?? WHY does Odd Girl Out only have 7 fanfics?? WHY are there like 2 people on Twitter posting about Weak Hero?? Head in hands fr

[If you don't wanna, k]
You can't tell how long it's been since you were stuck down here. Has it been 100 centuries or 100 milenias? You lost count after the 13th century. Every demon stick down in hell street those angels closed the demonic wound that allowed travel between planes
It was the demon's job to punish and Angel's job to reward, you have no clue how everyone thought you were evil. The angels grew pretentious and entitled, and then outright corrupt and they knew it and abused the "perfect divinity" they had... You had
For some long it's just been dead down there; That mesa like scape seems like the whole world. Nothing has happened and it had forever felt like nothing will
... You wine up to the sound of liveliness. This is completely new and unordinary
My sins were minor- I merely wrote papers writing about hypothetical ways the planes beyond the mortal worked. it only made sense- my field of expertise, after all, was extraplanar science. I had been brooding over the problems with my theories for another session- what could have been years, or perhaps decades- when I heard the sound. since there usually is utterly nothing to do in this blasted wasteland, I thought it pertinent to my situation to investigate.

There's an au prompt that I am heavily interested in. And this is also the base of what I want to write in my story. I personally love this au. Not many people dwell deeper in this au (I knew some but not know much for outdonesian people. Whereas in Indonesian fandom, this thing is quite rare... I guess. But that rarity is like find a needle in a hay stack, or find a golden in the mud.... ^^')
Tumblr media
"These two anonymous made me overthink late at night. It made me speculate how are the elementals gonna do if Oboi is gone someday? they are immortals yet their master is a human.
But this is my favorite kind of troupe. Immortal and mortal, hahahaha. Normally the ones who couldn't move on are the immortals."
[Pict no.1]
'If we think deeper, The elementals are older than Oboi himself, right? They were born in the various Power Spheres and then founded by the kings, The Chiefs, and even mere citizens. All this time, it turns out halitaugem(Halilintar, Taufan, and Gempa) and others are already 100+ years old.'
[Pict no. 2]
'The Elementals are older than Oboi, aren't they. Imagine the 7 elementals saying their gratitude to Oboi for their safety as if he protected their lives and did not misuse them, and they will vow to guard Oboi, the purest elemental wielder of them all.'
Different tweet but still indirect to the op.
Tumblr media
"Halilintar: "He's only a kid who just got his power, he probably will get hurt because of us."
Taufan: "What if he abuses it when he's older like a certain guy?"
Gempa: "I know, however, I want to put my trust in someone one more time."
.
Gempa: "You guys want to join me?"
Halilintar & Taufan: *smiling* "Definitely."
Whether if the immortals unable to move on or not. These kind of concept where the elementals passing their duty after their last master is really tempting. Imagine this could be Oboi's himself dies of old age and he left his energy to let all elementals become the real humans; or in the last battle, before he gone, Oboi use his final move to let him split into seven. And after that, all elementals lived in the future.
In my mind, the settings are a bit different.
Thousand years in the future. All planets are destroyed and Quabac is the last remaining planet. All survivors from the destroyed planet moved to Quabac and created nations based on fallen planets. The planet's names are the names of nations same with their background settings(Still in draft and a bit generic.) :
Gugura is a dumpster city.
Windara, a steampunk nation above the clouds.
Rimbara a forest wonderland for villagers.
Baraju, two military nations that became the planet's first defense system, and-
Gur'latan, a high-tech cyberpunk city and the central nation of the planet.
The people lived under control and their fate was already decided by the mighty emperor who never showed it's face. All elementals lived separately with no past memories.
Until a certain worker who lived inside the rusty house, found an unordinary watch that triggered a nightmare. The sound of pain and shout that he felt he experienced even though he was sure he never remembered any of those throughout his life. Suspicious theories occur when he sees the legendary TAPOPS logo, who supposed to be a myth in children's tales.
More mysteries arise after he sees the mirror of himself at the barter station in some city of Gugura, or so he thought. A man in all white cloth was just sent by Gur'latan authorities to collect data. Coincidentally.
That's when they meet and their nightmares have become more clear and the fact that they are not alone already tells there's something wrong with their past to this day.
...
That's all for now I guess. I got this idea during my discussion with @nerizys (Apologies for tagging your name🙏). Still trying to make it more of a proper prompt since I'm suck in english.
... Really want it to make into a full story though... :*

Love you tags/thoughts on Sora as MoM theory. I never care for it either since that would break the "dull, ordinary boy" thing Nomura is insistent on, and what would it do for Sora's character exactly? He should resist change/growth even harder? A clone theory on the other hand...well isn't that a super ordinary thing by now?
We’d definitely be stretching what constitutes as “ordinary.” Because even if clones and replicas and nobodies and all that have become ordinary in KH… if Sora’s a clone or something of the MoM, he still exists for a decidedly unordinary reason.
But Nomura has honestly been stretching Sora’s “ordinariness” for a while. After all the extraordinary things Sora’s done, since the literal time he was born apparently (connecting with Ven’s shattered heart), he doesn’t really feel like an ordinary boy anymore.
But I guess it depends on how we define “ordinary,” too. When Xehanort and Xigbar/Luxu and even Sora himself think “special,” they think chosen. Chosen by the Keyblade. Chosen by the universe. Chosen for greatness. And in that context, yeah, Sora is ordinary.
If Sora’s a clone or something, it wouldn’t change anything. He’s still unchosen. And all of his “specialness” still comes from his connections with other people. MoM would just be another name on the list. He’s “special” because MoM is. In fact, MoM would be the only reason Sora is in the story. The only reason he exists at all.
You’re special because another you — the original — is special. Boy does that sound familiar… I mean, it might explain why this theme of not being real or original and then characters asserting they are their own people keeps coming up over and over and over… Would also give more weight to Sora’s existential crisis in DDD over whether his self is original or just made up of other people’s memories, feelings, experiences, desires, etc.
Honestly it’s less a question of “is this plausible” and more well WHY would MoM make a clone of himself. The only thing I can really think of is the X-blade. MoM knows he’s ditching reality. For whatever reason, he needs someone to get the X-blade for him. Luxu’s mission is to observe and make sure everything plays out like MoM wants, but maybe MoM doesn’t trust him with the X-blade.
The locked black box feels like a trust test, which tells me MoM doesn’t 100% trust his apprentice. Which means the only person MoM trusts is himself. Perhaps he made a him that could obtain and deliver the X-blade to him in the future. Oof what a mean parallel that would be to what Riku tells Sora in KH1, “You were just the delivery boy.”
Or maybe MoM needed someone who was specifically going to mess the prophecy up. What I mean by that is, he needed to introduce something new to the story — the prophecy — to change it. Because before he disappeared, he was specifically interested in the idea of changing fate/what’s been written. Sora’s like an extra digit in the code. Something that’s not supposed to be there that changes everything.
Maybe it’s a mix of both things. Maybe it’s not a coincidence that Sora is born, or at least his heart comes into existence, the exact moment Xehanort splits Ventus’ heart… Because MoM’s eye is in Xehanort’s Keyblade, and MoM knows Ventus is significant to the prophecy and specifically the X-blade.
And let me be just really insane for a second — Coded. Mickey creates Sora the digital copy is MoM creates Sora the copy is Nomura creates Sora the character. Each Sora is a tool: to solve a problem, to change a story, to tell a story. Jiminy’s Journal is the Book of Prophecies is Kingdom Hearts the series. God damn.
Any character you create is a blank slate until you give it a personality. Characters are based on us or people we know or characters that already exist. Nomura created Sora as a sort of opposite of himself and traditional SE mcs. Mickey bases Data Sora on Sora, but his own perception of Sora also seems to influence Data Sora… MoM maybe bases Sora on himself but has Sora’s newborn heart cross with Ventus’ broken one, forming a unique connection and impacting Sora’s personality, creating a “new” person.
I mean, if MoM wants to throw a wrench in the prophecy, it doesn’t make sense for Sora to be exactly like him, right? It sounds convoluted, but this is Kingdom Hearts we’re talking about… The fact that Sora’s name not only translates to “sky” but “emptiness” too… 😐 If you took away Sora’s connections, would there be anything original left that defines his self?
These are just some quick thoughts. I’m not sure how I feel about this theory. As on brand as it is for a series where every non-Disney character is also part of another character, mostly either Sora or Xehanort, I kind of want MoM to be a new character… But I guess they wouldn’t conceal MoM’s name if it’s one we’ve never heard before or one that doesn’t tell us a whole lot.
Anyway. In response to your comment about the Sora is MoM theory, like MoM is him from the future or another timeline or something… Playing Devil’s advocate, I would think in this scenario MoM would exist specifically because Sora does resist change. Like — assuming Sora became MoM because he couldn’t bear the deaths of his friends or the guilt for the destruction of the whole universe since Sora felt responsible for saving everyone (I can’t think of another reason he would go off the rails) — this would be what happens when you don’t accept change and loss and do not positively grow from those experiences. MoM would be a warning.

to those who read the comic Unordinary, i have a theory on Keene’s powers, ive seen a thing or two about Vaughn (who seems to have something along the lines of gravity manipulation?) but Keene, whos ive just realised is now the only other teacher we aren’t sure on, not so much
All we definitely know is that hes got some way of seeing entrances to the school at all times (he was immediately alerted by his ability’s passive when the authorities showed up at wellston). But that could mean just about anything. A barrier? magical cctv? Fuck knows
But then, in a re-read, episode 78, when he helps move John into Blyke’s dorm, we see a close up of his eyes (that could be glowing? Hard to tell behind his glasses), and then a comment about how cold John and Blyke were. So, what if he can see temperature, which extends to heatmaps of his surroundings? And then of course because hes clearly a high tier (we’ve seen his ability works passively), what if he can control temperature to some extent too?

it's interesting that you hc kaiser as a son from a wealthy family cus half of the theories i've read say that he was an oliver twist street orphan with a tragic backstory and ruthless hunger for fame. the discrepancy is just so funny to me. also u saying that kaiser had parents who should've divorced but never did......😐 me watching this as a child of divorce. it's so hard to have a healthy conception of love when ur parents didn't even have that to begin with. it's even harder if their marriage was clearly a product of their circumstances rather than their actual feelings. the child ends up feeling like they're the only realistic link between two parents that don't want to be together. and it hurts so much because (1) u feel like ur the cause for their unhappiness and the one thing that's essentially cemented them together for life and (2) u feel unwanted by the very people who should've wanted you in the first place. and....it's messy lol. that's all i can say. im sorry kaiser i wld never wish this fate upon you. 🙏 pls just have the most ordinary backstory with supportive parents and a happy childhood. that way ur behavior towards isagi wld be unjustified and i wld have a legitimate reason for hating you
Honestly I would say I agree with the take of Kaiser having a less than stellar childhood. I wouldn’t say it wld be considered a greek-level type of tragedy but more… unordinary than most of the families he’s seen and observed. In elementary school, while the parents of other children would pick them up, he’d have a personal chauffeur since his parents never found the time for him. He’d be embarrassed telling his friends what his parents did for a living (being that their fortune was a result of inheritance rather than any feasible line of work). As a child he’d be overly attentive to his mother (mostly through guilt from the lack of respect she’d receive from his father and his family) and never really learn how to speak to his father. His home would feel like a held breath, almost. I think where the resentment towards his mother comes from is when he realizes how emotionally manipulative she becomes as his father continues to isolate her from his life. He hates his father but his mother just angers him. I think he matures at a really young age, very quickly realizing that if it were not for him everything around him would fall apart.
Anyways. He is a very convoluted character and I need to shut up before I continue to fall down this rabbit hole

unOrdinary fans are wild. Like not me showing up in the fandom going "I love how nuanced this series is that's so good I wanna share my theories about what's to come" and just looking around and seeing pretty much only antis in the main tag with DNI's that maybe I'm misremembering but has a shortened version of John simps DNI that sounds like a slur to me??? Maybe I'm misremembering it or it just sounds like the actual slur but is spelled differently but still wtf. And of course they hate John whose the, checks notes, the main fucking character??? I don't get how any of these people are actual fans when they hate the main fucking character for showing symptoms of literal ptsd like that's even explored and he's working on it too. I also just love/s how they labeled him the antagonist of the story when he is literally trying to save everyone, even the people he hates, from the government agencies currently trying to murder him and his classmates. Like so much for getting to meta and theorize what is to come in the series cuz everyone else seems so hostile. I'm still gonna do my best to post in the tags though cuz fuck those people I'm just gonna make my own space here and they can just block me if it upsets them so much lol. But this also just shows me Death Note would never have become as popular as it did if it had come out nowadays. People are just so closed minded and pro forcing conformity nowadays.
ugh

Theories of John's ability - Spoilers!!!!!!
So today, I was talking to my nerd siblings about unOrdinary, over a very nerdy game of MTG, and what specifically from the convo I wanna share is our discussion about John's ability.
Can discuss all current episodes.
I mentioned to my brothers that I had thought that John could've saved Sera's ability by coming out to Sera about not being a cripple, harvesting her mom's ability (time manipulation), and reversing the injection of the drug. I was easily disproven, being her mom may not have the strength nor knowledge, it's potentially too far away, it would be too exerting on John, etc.
But then the conversation shifted to how after John got drugged himself, he was still able to break free, twice no less! Once when the Spectre agent went to murder him and Sera, then next when Zeke tried to attack John. Even though he was injected completely by Terrence, John *still* broke through, be it weak regardless.
This got me thinking, what if, if/when John meets his mother, and they maybe have time to train, what if John is able to learn how to alter OTHER people's abilities?
For context, from what we understood, how John's ability works is that he alters the very vessels through which his aura flows, and how the aura itself flows too. He reads the auras of the opposing person to change his aura to mirror theirs. And how the drug works, is that it blocks the aura from traveling through the vessels. How this ties together is that John can reopen the vessels that his aura flows through, if only for a short time, and in a short degree.
So if he were able to train with Jane, she could show him how to completely reopen the vessels, to a much stronger degree, and to alter the vessels of those around him. This could be a possible cure for his ability's shutdown, and possibly the shutdown of Sera's ability too!
I dunno. What we thought may not have been true. As well, we don't have much of any info on Jane, except that she is INCREDIBLY powerful, so she may not even be able to do this, let alone teach John to. And as well, this may not be exactly HOW John's keeping of his ability works.
Please leave your thoughts and corrections in the comments, Id love to hear what y'all have to say about this.
Edit (1?): The upcoming episodes (I Fastpassed) confirm part of this! But it's wrong that John will need to learn to reopen his channels, it's already happened because of his ability!

UnOrdinary: The Snowflake & Mr. Dreaded
{Chapter One}
{~ A Meeting You Won’t Soon Forget ~}
“The night sky is when the Superheroes RISE!”
The Newspeople honestly annoyed Willow even more than the people who use their abilities to rise in power. Willow wanted to punch the TV, and he probably would have if his leader, X-Static, or Rei, the current King of Wellston High School, hadn’t stopped him.
As of currently, the two Superheroes were on a job of capturing drug-dealers of a new-found gang known as ‘EMBER’. A new group of people who didn’t agree with the ideals of Superheroes. He couldn’t wait to beat some sense into them.
Although he usually never actually fought, he was the term ‘backup’ defense from the background, or similar to a sniper. Although that did not mean he couldn’t fight his own battles.
He was Snowflake, a Level 7.0.
He was known for creating spears of pure light, walls of brightness to defend other heroes, the backup sniper for Superheroes.
But tonight was different.
He was sitting on the edge of a building, a dark brown cape flowing through the light breeze of this very stormy year. The sky was cloudy, and the air was crisp and cold, his hood, half-face, and goggles hiding his skin and hair, and even his eyes from the iced air, and from being identified.
He was just about to call X-Static when something caught his gray/yellow eyes.
Through his dark green goggles, two shadows crossed the street below and went into the alleyway across. He blinked before standing up and pressed the intercom in his ear.
“X-Static. Can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear Snowflake. Something wrong?”
“I just saw two people, both male by their body shape, cross the street. I’m going to check it out.”
“Okay. But don’t instantly attack. They could be witnesses or victims.”
Willow nodded.
“Understood.”
With that, using light to lightly propel himself to the ground, the Hero Snowflake began his pursuit.
He was wearing all dark clothing, so he could properly hide away in the shadows, even hiding his white hair underneath a tight beanie underneath his hood, it should have been easy to hide away.
But shards of dark navy blue crystal came at him, surprising as he turned the corner.
What-
His instincts instantly activated, as did his ability, eyes glowing through the glass of his goggles, bright gold as he used light shields, in the form of spiderwebs and snowflakes, blocking them and deflecting them with the simple swings of his arms.
When there were no more attacks, he turned to the other side of the alleyway, and from one of the fire-escapes of the little brick apartments on either side of the alleyway, hang a young man, no younger or older than him with long, waist length flowing platinum blonde hair, a long silk drown trench coat, navy eyes glaring at Willow with an annoyed look, like he had intruded on something. Then Willow’s eyes flitted to the man standing on the ground.
He was older, with mixes of silver, aging hair, with pale orange hair, and eyes of coral pink. This older man had a simple black leather jacket and jeans, white button up and regular brown leather shoes.
Willow glared between them as the younger boy jumped from his spot on the fire-escape and landed next to the older man.
Sorry Rei.
But they attacked me first.
But he knew he had to interrogate them before beating them into unconsciousness.
“Why are you following us boy?” The man asked before Willow could try to ask his own.
He blinked, before standing up straight. Perhaps he had misunderstood the situation, and they had attacked, thinking he was one of those people who had frightened them to begin with? Just a theory of course.
“I’m here to see if you're in any kind of trouble.” He looked between them.
“Me and one of my companions are searching for members of a new-found gang known as EMBER. I was hoping you had information. Or the other option, to figure out if you're in any danger.”
The man and boy looked to Willow, before each other, and then back at Willow again.
Then the man shook his head.
“Are you one of those heroes correct?” Willow tensed.
“Alright then. Tell your friends to stay out of this. We can take care of this ourselves.” Willow titled his head.
“Ourselves? Who are you?”
“None of your concern.” Another voice said to him simply.
He turned, shocked to see a taller figure, just by a few inches, with long brown hair, with a black button up, jeans, and leather boots. The only color, other than his tied brown locks and pale skin was the coat wrapped around his shoulders, dark red and light weight, flowing through the wind like it was made of feathers.
Willow instantly recognized this figure.
“Your… Mr. Dreaded…”
“And you're the Superhero known as Snowflake.” Mr. Dreaded replied, tilted his head, his own see-through mask creasing, almost smirking at him.
“You're part of the Major gang…! The Crime Establishment…!”
“You are correct.” Mr. Dreaded stated, walking past him, watching with vibrant pink eyes, through the holes of his masquerade mask.
Willow looked between the three men, before asking, standing in defense position, the one Rei had taught him. Mr. Dreaded turned, and replied, crossing his arms.
“Me and my own companions, Mr. ‘Pendragon’ and the ‘Crystalized Elf’ are searching for the gang known as EMBER. These people are not under our influence or a part of any other ‘companies’ that we are associated with. Snowflake, I suggest you take Mr. Pendragon’s advice, and take you and your other heroes away from the case of EMBER. We shall take care of this. Take your leave.”
Willow blinked, before turning away, deciding to report to X-Static of the situation, when Mr. Dreaded called out again.
“You should take better care of yourself. Even the smallest cuts can cause catastrophe.” Willow whirled back to Mr. Dreaded in confusion, before looking down the cut on his upper palm, and assumed that it must have been from the attacks that the platinum blonde had attempted.
Willow looked at the other, golden gray eyes met vivid pink ones, and he turned and left.
{☘️}
Willow and Rei had met up after the stake-out, one with nothing and one with the message of a mass crime organization that warned against getting in their own investigation. Rei had seemed shocked at the news, and both decided against heeding the warning of the Crime Establishment.
When the sun came up, and the duo had gone to Wellston High School, Willow had sketched the three males he had seen last night. He couldn’t be bothered by their message.
He was going to beat EMBER, whether they, or the Crime Establishment liked it or not.

you know how in UnOrdinary people have speech bubbles the colour of their hair? Well it means John's black speech bubbles are his normal self bubbles, and the white ones are when he tried to hide who he was and suppress it.
But you do know who has grey speech bubbles? All the extras whom we don't know the identity or physical appearance. And so here's a theory: people can control the colour of their speech bubble.
They don't necessarily know they are characters in a webtoon, but they maybe can give some effect to their voice so that bystanders wouldn't be able to identify them after hearing them without looking at them: so basically why the gossipers stop talking shit about royals or John only when they start looking in their direction; they already knew they could be heard, since they were talking loud and clear, they just dont want to be spoted.
That would explain why they keep talking shit about royals just next to them all the time. And it would add a layer to John's change of colour: is it a conscious process from his part? Not to change his voice to make it unremarkable, but to change his voice to seem devoid of any power (his power and hair are black, white is the opposite of black, or maybe just power and hair are colour, white is colourless?) and reinforce his cover as a cripple?
