I know it's late, so no one will probably read this, but I'm excited. I've been working on this costume for a while now and I've finally gotten to the best part. Weathering! So I'm gonna ramble about distressing and weathering for a bit

I was actually talking to someone about this recently. This is the best part of making a costume, aside from actually doing the makeup/effects and wearing it (or someone wearing it). It's weird. You spend all of this time actually making the costume, planning it out, getting fabric and supplies, building everything from the ground up, just so you can destroy it. It's like constructing something specifically so you can fuck it up. It really is the best part.

I've spent my free time for MONTHS planning and sewing all of this together, and tomorrow I get to throw coffee, tea, sawdust and ink on it. I get to do mud for this costume too, which is something I haven't ever done before. I'm pumped about that and it's going to be a damn good time. And then, it gets better, because I get to start focusing on details. Fun times.

Granted, I shouldn't be too excited about detail work. I'm doing electrical stuff this time (which is a huge weakness of mine since electricity frightens me, especially when combined with lots of flammable stuff) and I have no idea if it's going to work or not, but it will be awesome if it does!

Sorry to everyone for the sudden unexplained hiatus it's been a lot for me trying to figure out filing marriage paperwork, family wedding stuff for my cousin in law, becoming an aunt, fighting my psych for my ADHD meds, my partner losing his childhood dog, death of my close family member and getting stupidly determined to play through dark souls - all since like May 10 or 11 th so it's really hard for me to work on continuing to write all the Simon & König & Leon Kennedy fics that I've planned to. I intend to get them out of my head and onto paper for yall but I've just had so much stuff come up but I promise I haven't forgotten.

Gah September. I'm one week out from the one year anniversary of a big life change. And it's leaving me feeling a little numb. It's also the one year since cars on the road came out. Who would have thunk, right? And I remember where I was and what I was posting, what other's were postings. And I totally wanted to watch cotr when it dropped at midnight. I was up. Ooh boy was I up. I'd been awake for close to two days. I was laying on the floor. I could have watched something had I not forgotten my headphones. But you know as they say, fate had other plans. I got to watch cars on the road about a week after. And then I could read all my beloved mutuals posts and frantically reblog.

It's also the month of my birth. And several other's birth. And a thousand other highs and lows.

And yet I feel conflicted about my coming birthday. A subtle reminder I'm getting older. I know age is just a number but the number seems bigger than where I am emotionally. Oh and I also have an irrational fear of the specific number due to a strange dream I had months ago, so there's that.

No but the thing is, I found wiggle room in my schedule and me, almost unbearably so, needs to fill it. so I have.

the only thing is, my memory has been quite shit lately. so if I don't write it down, I'm literally going to forget about it.

I have about two months to do certain things so I'm going to be cramming in a lot of stuff, not that you'll notice because if I DO IT RIGHT, it'll just look like queued posts and what not.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
