i was wondering if u’d be interested in doing a hotch drabble about him with a s/o who seems really intimidating but is actually really soft and sweet?

like maybe it’s her appearance that makes the team intimidated by her—edgy clothing and dark makeup and stuff—when she shows up to hang out with hotch on his lunch breaks. and she’s like ‘i feel like your team doesn’t like me :(‘ and he’s like ‘honey, they’re borderline scared of you’ but it’s fluffy.

Aaron loves when you visit him at the office for lunch, but you don't look like you're in high spirits yourself. When you sit down its with a huff and a hiss of the chair accommodating your weight, only adding to your dramatics.

"This might be my career in profiling speaking," Aaron begins, his voice soft in case something is terribly wrong, "But something tells me you're not having a good day, sweetheart."

"You're good," You tease him, and he wishes you could laugh about it together, "Aaron, I think Doctor Reid is afraid of me."

Aaron has to bite his tongue not to laugh. Doctor Reid is afraid of buffets, he thinks, but it's not an abundance of germs that unnerves Spencer about you, it's- well, it's everything he knows about you.

"Honey," Aaron calls upon that sweet tone again, "He doesn't know you very well."

"You didn't deny it!" You groan, falling back into your chair and abandoning your soup on his desk, "I knew it. What did I do?"

Aaron looks into your eyes, black-lined and sharp. He watches you chew on your cheek, your black-stained lips moved by the nervous quirk. Below your tense jaw is a chain that rests against your neck, not a full choker but not loose, either. It nearly disappears into the hem of your jacket, black leather that falls over a rather graphic old band tee.

"It's not what you've done," Aaron explains tentatively, "It's probably- well, how you look."

Your nose scrunches, and Aaron marvels the fact that you seem to have forgotten your appearance, "How do I look?"

"Like a doberman pinscher in human form," Aaron bites off a corner of his sandwich, chewing it in lieu of pressing the matter further.

"I like dobermans." You supply weakly, "Why is he afraid of me?"

"You're just not what he's used to," Aaron sighs, swallowing his mouthful and leaning across the desk, hand outstretched, "He probably thinks you could dismember him with those nails."

You place your palm in Aaron's own, and he flips your hand around to showcase the rather impressively sharp acrylics you're sporting.

"And your boots are heavier than he is, I guarantee it," Aaron nods down at your thick-soled black boots, ones that give away your entrance from a mile away by the sound of their rubber hitting the ground.

"He's just..." Aaron searches for the right word, trying not to disparage you or Reid, "Skittish. You should talk to him, though, honey. He likes science, and literature, and Star Trek. Pick something from one of those categories, and I promise he'll never stop talking to you for the rest of your life."

You're mostly satisfied, but you let your hand rest in Aaron's for a moment longer, and he'd be a fool to drop it.

"Am I scary, Aaron?" You ask earnestly, and his smile is warm as he brings your hand to his mouth to kiss at your knuckles.

"Not to me. And not to anyone who knows you," He promises, "But... it is nice to not have to worry about carrying a gun when we go out together."

"Aaron!" You laugh, "I'm not a weapon!"

"You could be!" Aaron insists, tugging your hand over to his lunch and dragging your fingernail across his sandwich, "Here, honey, cut it for me, would you? They forgot to give us knives."

"Stop!" You insist, but your laughter gives you away as you turn back to your soup with burning cheeks, "Just you wait, Aaron. As soon as Penelope stops running whenever I enter a room, we're gonna talk shit about you for this."

You couldn’t ignore his request so you did as told, you gave Neteyam the kiss he was practically begging for. You patted his chest with your hand, pushing him away from you. “Okay, now go!” Neteyam stayed rooted in his place, a bashful smile on his face. “One more kiss?”

You furrowed your brows in confusion. “You are going to die?” You repeat slowly, watching how Neteyam nods his head vigorously, like if he nodded any slower he was going to be knocked out dead. You weren’t going to give in and give him that kiss. He’s had enough of them, any more you’re sure your lips would fall off. “You don’t have enough time Neteyam, you must go.” You say. Neteyam looks at you then suddenly gasps dramatically, his hand slapping against his chest. “I think I’m dying!” He rasped out, flopping his body against yours. You just stared at him, looking at him unamused. He opened one eye and then the other, huffing out, he whispered. “You are supposed to kiss me to bring me back to life.” You puckered out your lips, eyes narrowing as you pretended to think about what Neteyam just said. “I don’t think I will.” You said. Now this time, Neteyam’s gasp was real. He shot up and he genuinely looked so hurt. “What? How could y–” You shut him with a kiss. You separated and you pushed him away. “You better not come back!” You say. “I make no promises!”

you patch neteyam up whenever he comes back injured from whatever he was doing

he sometimes gets hurt on purpose so he could feel your fingers graze his skin

lo’ak had witnessed neteyam “accidently trip” on the roots of the trees just so he could have a scraped knee

its actually so embarrassing

♡ “Bro, you are not fooling anyone.” Lo’ak said, crossing his arms over his chest. Neteyam got up from the floor, brushing the dirt and grime that stuck to his legs. “I’m fooling y/n, though.”

♡ “For Ewya’s sake, do you fight with your eyes closed?!” You gently pat down one of Neteyam’s gashes on his back dry. “How do you manage to come home everyday with a new injury?” Dipping your two fingers in the healing paste you cultivated earlier while the boys were out, you delicately glided the ointment along Neteyam’s wounds. His ears flickered, a hiss left his lips. “That hurts!” He said through clenched teeth. “Oh, so now you are complaining about the pain?”

okay at first, he did fool you but after a few times of him coming back with a bleeding leg or arm, you figured he was doing it on purpose

whenever Neteyam has a rough day or has been chewed out by his dad, he always comes to you to be at peace

you tend to rebraid his hair while adding more beads to his collection

he has said that it helps calm him down

you also message his head he absolutely LOVES IT

♡ Your fingers intricately worked with each strand of Neteyam’s hair. Crossing the strands over each other, you woven each strand into a braid. Digging your fingers into the bowl full of beads, you plucked a few out, ornamenting each braid with a bead of their own. “How have you been?” You ask, fingers gliding down his newly done braid. A satisfied smile was pulled onto your lips, fingers rolling the stray bead that you had found on the grassy floor. “The best I can be.” Neteyam vaguely responded. You knew he wasn’t telling you the truth, he wasn’t the best at lying. You dropped the bead back into the bowl with a sigh. Throughout the whole time you have been braiding his hair, Neteyam has been cold and quiet. Only uttering a few words to you when needed. A stark contrast from how he usually acts. You threaded your fingers through his hair. “How was the hunt with your father?” You watch as Neteyam’s body physically tenses at the mention of his hunt. “Nothing out of the ordinary.” He lies straight through his teeth, his fingers anxiously wrapping themselves around the grass. “Neteyam.” You sternly said. You got up and moved around him, sitting right in front of him. “I know when you lie.” You tell him, narrowing your eyes at him. He shrinks under your intimidating gaze, his tail flicking nervously behind him. Neteyam sighed out and finally allowed himself to open himself up. He began to explain how his father blew up on him during a hunt, how he yelled at him for not getting his aim right after various corrections from his father. After he ended his rant, you offered him a piece of your advice and what you thought about the situation. You helped him regulate his emotions and calm down. Neteyam had visibly relaxed and his mood perked up after you and him talked about it. He laid his head down on your lap. Wordlessly, you tangled your fingers in his hair and pressed the tips of them on his skull. You slowly messaged his head, fingers skillfully moving from the next point onto the next. Neteyam sighed, closing his eyes. With you by his side, he could overcome anything.

i know I'm really passionate about something when i hit all 30 tags in a rant. i am passionate about art ok!!! 😩 i got a lot of thoughts and feelings on that last post.

i didn't get to address it directly but Especially the point about art always being made for profit and to be sold. no it is not you fool!!! a child does not draw with a stick in the mud seeking to make a profit. our ancestors did not make cave paintings for profit. even practical things like pottery could've been made simple but ppl made them cute bc why not. none of my chokers are for sale, there are zero replicas and i make all of them at a loss. i have songs I've made on soundcloud and google drive bc i had fun making them and just wanted to freely share a song that doesn't exist anywhere else with anyone who wants to listen.

art is a very natural need to express and create that comes from within you. you can have your own desires, motivations, influences etc as an artist but art itself has never been only about or driven by profit.

it's just as natural as breathing and sleeping, i think of other modern stuff like that dude using the long pipe and its delayed echo to play his saxophone in a new way - or that person who realized they could play sandstorm depending on which bars they scrubbed in their shower caddy. the blankets and quilts made with love by grandparents to keep their family warm that gets passed down for generations.

we r just naturally creative, expressive playful creatures. to have something so fundamental about our nature reduced to something that's only being made where profit's involved is just not correct, but if that's the impression u have and the spaces u hang in then is it any wonder that all the art you're looking at in a sanitized corporate space is very sanitized and doesn't have much to say.

also because i cannot say it enough: if you want the weird art you need to let people be weird, you need to let people enjoy the weird art, if it is not your kind of weird then just keep it moving bc not everything is for everyone and that's okay. but you Have to let people be weird. being uncomfortable with something doesn't make the thing or people who enjoy it bad; there is no inherent morality to it. if y'all can't make room for weird people and their weird art to just exist somewhere, then ur not gonna find them at sanitized events like pride and will have to learn how to look for them. probably online.

if ANYONE is a brat tamer it’s john and not because he’s mean, he’s just SO GENTLE. mean reader comes to him, she’s ready to start sumn. yelling and cussing, pushing at his shoulders to get something out of him, anything (in this scenario i imagine she’s still unused to someone being nice to her like him. he makes her feel soft and fuzzy and we know how mean!reader feels about soft and fuzzy feels). what does john b do? grab her wrists in one hand while the other holds her jaw. tight enough to hold her face still but not too bad to hurt.. yet.

he’s trying to coax her into being a good girl but it’s not working, she keeps talking. the only time she shuts up is when he finally has enough and lands a clean slap on her face. she’s stunned, bamboozled. glossed lips hung open in shock, john b takes the chance to slide his thumb into her mouth. occupying the space so she can’t mouth off again. her cheek stings from the slap but it did it’s job, she’s quiet now. john b tilts his head at her, crowding her space and backing her up into a wall.

“anything else to say, pup? i’m listening baby, you can do it. ‘lemme hear ya’” knowing damn well she can’t right now. and when she doesn’t respond, aside from an adorable little pout n glare, he leans in and kisses her nose. teasing her with his baby talk but he really does mean it at the same time.

“d’aww it’s okay princess, let me do all the talking, and the thinking. i think someone needs a snack, or a nap.”

john b is perfect for bitches that need to be taken care of with a gentle but very firm hand !!

NOBODY FUCKING TALKS ABOUT IT YET BUT literally i do not think they need to sleep/they cannot sleep/gets little to no sleep at all and instead spends all their time up night reviewing battle plans and rewatching past battles on their little PDA. its a combination of anxiety and wanting to step up as a better manager (if we take into account of limbus players dissecting the gameplay meta of EGOs and ids we can literally translate that into Dante pouring over how to better manage the sinners). god forbid them from stepping out of line due to personal feelings bc they a) do not want to piss off vergilius and risk his wrath b) do not want to piss off vergilius bc they respect him (and like him) as a coworker, a boss, a color fixer and their guide too much. they are the EPITOME of professionalism. their work and responsibilities as a manager COMES FIRST

Vergilius too, you put it into words on him as a person. Literally he doesnt think he deserves it AND he doesnt have the time for that shit (for real verg in canon seems to really hate ppl wasting his time over trivial shit). i think even theres some distance between him and charon but he mostly crosses the space bc he's too guilt bound to deny charon some form of connection (bc it is his fault in the first place), so he is soft to her and her only.

it's like watching two parallel lines running along each other and no matter how close they get they will NEVER touch ever. ISNT THAT A TRAGEDY???

but its not all angst, they at least find a little light in the situation. verg would come to appreciate how dante respects him and his circumstances and would be pleased that they are like-minded enough to keep things professional between them, so he is comfortable in confiding in dante on certain topics (in canto 2 where verg and dante stands together by the side to watch the sinners get their ass peeled and verg telling dante why they should experience it for once lives rent free in my head bc he actually bothered to explain to dante wauhgshfh). he admits that dante is the only sinner that he can have a convo with. he fucking told dante to not befriend him after sharing a little history on charon. dante would appreciate the little moments they get to spend with him

just brief pockets of time with each other, despite everything. i like to think they are both the kind of ppl who would accept that things are just not meant to be, so they will take what little they can (what little they're allowed).

in the grand scheme of lcb and the city they are both nothing but a pair of pawns trying to make the best of their situation without getting in the way. they have no choice.

and to come across another who understands this is a rare, rare gem in their crapsack world, so how can we blame them for having a little bit of pining among the acceptance. mutual respect blooming into requited love that is unable to be acted upon. a divine comedy in its own right. im going to kms

Guy okay this is interesting because my answer for both G and H are the same for Guy!!! it's that he is incredibly forgiving! on one hand, he gets himself hurt by giving people the benefit of the doubt too much, and he always gives out second chances. but on the other hand, it is genuinely amazing how, even though it has gotten him hurt multiple times throughout his life, he's STILL willing to forgive people over and over again, and give them as many chances as it takes. he's willing to self-sacrifice to help other people grow! it bothers me because i want to see him care about himself and his own needs more, but i also admire it, because i wish i had that kind of forgiveness in my heart for everyone, y'know? its like aahggghhh why are you doing this to yourself but also awww 🥺 duuuuude 🥺 ur right dude maybe there IS good in everyone.. maybe everyone CAN change... if u believe....

pretty good episode, especially in the beginning (and totally not just because all the threezo was at the start)

im excited for the next episode but eternally grateful that im not obsessed with this show cos man that feeling of anticipation waiting for msp episodes to come out was like personalised torture so ty brain for not latching on to this show like a baby with a nipple

im still feeling a little bit iffy with the power imbalance and also about how we still dont know the age gap between them? (i think last week we found out how old gun is and i was gonna do research to find an estimate on how old cher is but then i didnt do that so if someone else happens to have already figured it out, then the information would be greatly appreciated) but they say multiple times that gun isnt “that much older” but i dont know how much ‘that much’ is and i would like to know so that i can have better peace of mind

y/n walked into the room, their h/c h/l hair shining beautifully in the autumn sunset as they strut down the stairs in their f/c dress. f/n cheered them on as bad boy Carter stared at them from across the beautifully decorated hall, y/n dazzling as the music blared loudly. "y/n! you made it." carter ran up to them, excited to see his crush at the ball. "y-y-y-y-y-yes i-i-i-i-i-i d-d-d-d-di-d!" y/n stuttered a bit, blushing.

"EXCUSE ME?! CARTER YOU CANT POSSIBLY BE TALKING TO THIS SCUM OF A GIRL. COME ON, WERE GOING TO HANG OUT WITH DEREK AND HIS FRIENDS!" veronica snarled at y/n as she cowered in fear and hid behind carter. "SHE IS NOT SCUM, SHE IS WONDERFUL AND AMAZING AND I NEVER LOVED YOU ANYWAYS! GO SUCK A LEMON!" carter held y/n close at she cried and shook from fear.

"UGH! HOW DARE YOU! everybody else at the party ran and hid, but not carter or f/n. they ran up to her as she gently floated back down to the ground and fainted. carter carried y/n to his house because it was closer and what are cars of phones or 911? lmao. f/n followed to ensure y/ns safety, because while carter was nice now he did used to bully the both of them and she didnt quite trust him yet.

y/n woke up on a bed that wasnt hers in a room that wasnt hers, surrounded by carter and f/n both with worried looks on their faces. "y/n! youre awake!" f/n shouted, quickly embracing y/n in a tight hug. that he’s the most irritatingly gorgeous person shes ever met and to top it off he’s her archenemies and it INFURIATES her to no end sajknsak.. also how he COULD have informed the legate (his father) of her identity, he COULD have k*lled her himself especially with knowing that is what she’ll do to him at the first chance! he’s had every chance under the sun to finish her off once and for all so... why in the twins hasn’t he? and to add salt to the wound! as has she when it comes to the opportunities she's had to k*ll him! she's been alone with him in his office.. she could have then. she was DANCING with him at Samhain and she could have then. so what has been stopping her? she knows but she’ll take to her grave before then jasnxaks.

now if they could change things if they could? oh yea. on her end she wishes she could stuff her feelings in a box, lock that box, light it on fire and end him like she CAME there to do so she can go home.. right? in more selfish reasons feelings be damned though, hati would wish the circumstances were different. that she WASNT there with the intention of k*lling him, that she could fall for him and he for her in the more organic sort like two people meet at a gathering and its love at first sight? but alas, the twins have a cruel way of setting to people who by destiny, were meant for one another i guess!

shes really....... REALLY pretty and the gods took their time on him ajsbjha OKAY. so i think that’s shes so fascinating to him.. that shes so alluring not just in appearance but who she is, her ambition, her wit, her ability to keep up with him in that and return his with her own that bests his by a long shot? that she intrigues him is what he finds most alluring about her? and for her, it’s that they’re so alike? that he is more than what she took at face value when she met him? that he’s attentive to her, it seems he knows her better than she knows herself..? now how in blazes do these two have so many things they like about the other when she’s so driven to despise him (she SAYS) is anyones guess! its bc they’re soulmates asjkn.

36. what’s their greatest strength as a couple? their weakness?

the two are both INTIMIDATING which would make them absolutely a threat on any battlefield or diplomatic setting and i think that’s so lovely for them..! hati is a triple scorpio (scorpio sun, moon and rising! shes a scorpio as it gets!) and given his status, title, the scar, this is definitely an advantage hehe! optio wants to give hati a hard time? he cant do that anymore! some noblewoman of rome wants to make flirtations? by that death glare of hers and WICKED grudge streak they won’t! its perfect! another strength of theirs more so in the romance once they get there!

and as for their weaknesses, especially at the moment this is the most apparent, is the constant back and forward between hating the other (this is more hati than marcus though) and longing? the fact the two have such a CONSTANT battle within themselves between duty, that he k*lled her father, and that they’re both infuriatingly infatuated with each other this sort of thing is what is hindering them the most as a couple?

i am so crasy abt ur tweet abt verdante being a tragedy its like in my mind at all times. like ,,, im rotating it in my head, im so ruined, this idea consumes me u do not understand i am opening up google docs and writing a fic im morose im captivated i am making an ao3 account

KYAAAA ON MY KNEES... i have so much feelings on it u have no idea. twitter doesn't let me go ham but since we are on tumblr let me write a goddamn essay on this

the thing is that yes i enjoy both verdante being a romcom comedy or a tragedy or anything in between. ofc we'd like them to be happy but part of me like to explore what would happen if we really stayed canon-compliant

and like. let's take a look at them both. Vergilius is canonly someone who's weighed down by his past sins (killing and assassinating and orphaning children), who fully well accepts that he deserves the karma that comes for him (like this man literally is expecting it and doesn't fight it), yet he chooses to drag himself forward bc if he doesn't he will sink into despair. he is full of guilt and shame. verg also seems reluctant to form new bonds which is understandable considering that he lost everything prior to limbus, and how he doesn't want to drag people down with his karma, at the same time it would be extremely hard for him to trust people due to the risks of betrayal and manipulation in the city. he KNOWS that kindness and empathy will be consumed by the city if they don't adapt (see leviathan and his thoughts on garnet) therefore anyone would be wary bc there's always a catch. vergilius is also extremely duty bound to restoring garnet and lapis and it weighs down on him a lot

now i dont see Vergilius as oblivious bc the man would obviously recognise signs of attraction from Dante. but vergilius, despite his harsh exterior, is also kind deep down or at least practical, so taking the above into account, in this scenario he would probably outright address it to dante that he has... personal goals. maybe dante will be sacrificed at the end for limbus company as a whole, maybe not, but Verg makes it clear that he WILL choose lapis and garnet over dante bc that is his responsibility. what he owes to them.

executive manager, he doesn't say, do not be a fool.

and to his surprise, dante just nods and writes him, "I'm aware. It's ok, I understand."

bc dante respects him. they respect his space and not push anything at all (alongside how they probably feel that they are not worthy yet, or that they don't want to burden Vergilius, bc c'mon they're stumbling through their responsibilities after losing their memory, work is more important than personal interest now), i also like to think dante isn't say, self-depreciating, but more like they've accepted that they have so much to live up to and Vergilius has something to achieve and they will not stand in his way, so they're content to just spend time with Vergilius as manager and guide.

and there's that. they don't talk about it after the day. nothing changes between them. they continue on as manager and guide.

the only exception is that now Vergilius is aware that Dante fully accepts that he will sacrifice them for his own goals. yet Dante is content to spend time around him and vice versa (he doesn't admit it)

and isn't that the tragedy?

vergilius, to be aware that something could have sparked between the both of you, yet you cannot afford to cross the line due to circumstances. occasionally imagining what it could had been if the both of you were actually allowed to. how should you feel when the other person still seeks you out and befriends you despite knowing that you will never pick them

and dante, getting the confirmation that you will never be picked and will be the third or fourth or whatever choice but that's okay. manager and guide is enough, you WILL enjoy whatever there is between the both of you without asking for more

personally, unrequited love as a tragedy is not effective to me bc it's not that hard to respect another person's feelings and not make yourself the victim.

the REAL tragedy here is being aware of the lost potential and what-could-had-beens, yet IN SPITE OF THAT theres the quiet acceptance and humble enjoyment of whatever there is between the both of them bc that's all they can afford. how fate and the city fucked them both up. yet they stay professional because they respect each other too much (to the point of suppressing their personal feelings for the other) to make this into a hassle

maybe dante dies at the end of limbus and verg would reminisce on what it could had been. maybe verg dies and dante occasionally recalls the little moments they get to spend together. maybe they both die. maybe they both live but they walk a too different path to ever converge again. maybe we slap canon in the face and let them survive or meet up again in the future.

whatever it is, i just really enjoy the sweet sweet pining between the both of them throughout limbus company. the horrors of Knowing. i'm going to bite something
