a little rant while im on break at my job

okay i know we're supposed to like ghostflower ships but i... i have some thoughts.

i see the love and lust between those two in into the spiderverse, miles is so giggly around gwen and gwen is slightly less unhinged (you ALL know what im getting at, love her but our good sis gwen is.... *hand motion*) etc. allat good stuff.

but i can't see that happening especially w the events of atsv, like there's definitely room for patching up the relationship but anything romantic between the two would feel forced as fuck i feel like. and maybe that's just me being an intensely passionate empath who likes to act like a nonchalant lil asshole, but still. i LOVE gwen, sony set her up beautifully for an amazing character arc that i'm so excited to see in the next one. HOWEVER, also this could just be me being an annoying little afro latina shit, she's not coming back from opening the collectible, going through miles' sketchbook w/o permission, and the shoes on the bed. that doesn't mean i HATE her i just can't look at her the same.

now a bitch is biased because black love is forever 🔛🔝, but also in the comics and video game miles has a black love interest. there was definitely also THE connection w/ miles and margo (however i'm also kinda in favor of prowlerbyte anyway--), and lil old me in the theatre was loosing it. i think that staying true to the aspect of black love interests is also going to be so important for the community, both comic/video game fans and black fans alike, mainly because of how black men interact with black women. speaking from experience i can't even count how many times i wanted to be the short lil white girl with blue eyes and blonde hair instead of the tall and awkward black girl with the wide nose and corkscrew curls. now here's where i think my personal bias kind of skews my opinion on this, but this franchise has been so important to SO many people. again speaking from experience, when i saw miles in atsv with the EXACT same hair texture as me i almost cried because no one in the history of ever has animated my kind of hair right and miles' hair was right. on top of this i saw so many little black boys practically tripping and falling in anticipation to see this movie in theatres. so i think i favor miles having a relationship with a black girl because this will reach such a new audience and possibly open doors for black men and boys to start treating black somebody and girls with respect. because if these little boys in the theatre see their like, idol for lack of a better word, treating black women and girls with respect i think then there's gonna be an aspect of healing within that.

i'm not really sure how well i'm communicating this, but i don't really think i can fully get behind the ghostflower ship. to me it feels really fucking forced in a way that kinda icks me out, however this is not to say i won't absolutely love the shit out of these two if it happens. in a way, this franchise feels like something the black community needs in several ways. like yeah this shit is pro black but FULLY pro black, not pro-black but anti gay, trans, or whatever the fuck. it shows blackness in a new way, artsy and nerdy but also really fucking cool at the same time and i never fucking got that as a little kid. like i kid you not the other black kids in school would call me a wanna be white girl. and to see someone with similar interests as me just sort of opens the world up??? like i visited my older sister at school in the dmv while wearing a spiderverse hoodie, and people actually wanted to talk to me about it!!! like not ina "oh i like ur sweatshirt ma" type thing like a "omg you like this movie too??" type thing and i just--

yeah i def strayed from the topic, but i hope our baby does get his lil black girl (or his lil gwen, from a big sisters perspective i don't hate her as a prospective partner i just think that there would need to be a clear breakdown in the difference of cultures. for example i was taught that anytime you meet anyone formally (like a parent or something) you shake their hand and or go in for a hug and kiss BOTH cheeks and talk about their home their clothes or whatever) but for like the sake of authenticity (sorry to be that asshole but come ON) but like.... flowerbyte 🥰🥰

I talk the worst about Nemma on here fs. I wouldn’t say I hate it… but I have a lot of complaints. A lot.

Juliayne is DEFINITELY not my thing. I love AroAce Wayne and Lesbian Julia duo the most personally, but I don’t think I could ever ship them.

I like, really strongly believe in Lesbian Heather, Gay Noah, and Gay Alejandro for some reason? I normally have a bunch of different headcanons for one character but for some reason I just can’t ship them with the opposite gender.

I wouldn’t say I hate Aleheather, but the Aleheather shippers on TikTok are some of the most unbearable people you will ever meet. Also Ripaxel (even though I love Ripaxel!) and Juliayne shippers. Sorry to the people I know from TikTok! (But you’re hopefully not one of these kinds)

I’m not a Coderra fan whatsoever. I just don’t see the appeal and think it’s totally weird. Sierra fans are fine, but the defenders are ehhhh. I don’t like Chemma either obviously, in that I don’t think they should be together realistically. But plot/comedy wise they’re not so bad.

Pro/ships.

Also don’t care for Cody ships because I really don’t care for Cody. Not for any reason in particular, just cus. I WILL defend Noco with my life though. I talk about them a little.

hello jann i have so many combos how am i supposed to pick. ur so determined to make me write essays huh /j you know what im just gonna make this jay & various lookism characters that i wanna see him interact with bc he's been missing for so long this is my copium that he's been here all along

jay & mira

they are the housewives waiting for their husbands to come back from the war dynamic, but in jay's case he joined the war as a medic who can also fight on the frontlines bc he missed daniel. i like to think during the period of time their boys were gone, jay and mira became closer bc they were both lonely. think about it - daniel is undoubtedly jay's best friend and literally jay's only friend, while zack and mira have such a long history and the requited pining they have is so intense.

just imagine having to suffer through school alone... hence mira struck up a conversation (even tho she had no idea how to understand jay), and now they're kind of friends. maybe they're lonely bc they miss their boos but they're lonely together now, which makes things a lot better. mira still doesn't quite understand jay, but she Gets the pining, so that's a start. she doesn't know whether to root for emo introvert jay to get with daniel or social butterfly zoe, so for now she's just hoping they'll end up in a polyamorous relationship bc she doesn't want her friends to end up with broken hearts. according to zack (who finds the time to text her whenever he can bc he misses her a lot and his current canon break is bc they're hanging out like the lovebirds they are), daniel has also been picking up boyfriends left and right so the daniel ship might actually have more people than she originally thought, actually.

also they bond over fashion, because mira thinks jay needs to expand his closet. all jay has is designer suits (and the occasional biker jacket) and mira is the god of thrifting and cute fits! if you want the j high fashion boys in cute Normal People (read: proletariat) fits mira is your go-to

2. jay & zoe

once again, housewives waiting for their husband to come back from the war dynamic, but they've got the same dynamic. they are the co-captains of the daniel fan club and they constantly fight for first place. zoe is losing (because she's been away from canon even longer than jay) and she hates it (it's okay. she's realizing daniel is a very good friend, who is coincidentally very hot, but that's he's not exactly boyfriend material for her, for some reason. he's so bestie-coded).

zoe has 0 idea what jay's thinking 50% of the time, the other 50% of the time jay just goes :( so she just Knows he's thinking of daniel and missing him bc yeah. she does that too. it's just more obvious with jay because he doesn't show his eyes and that reduces his expression ability by a lot bc he's the most expressive with daniel, and when daniel's not there he's just _ . not even -_- he's just _ because he doesn't show his eyes so zoe can't even begin guessing what he's thinking. mira only gets him bc she's got the Nice Person Telepathy (it's called years of dealing with tsuntsun zack = pro body language reader)

i'm not gonna lie about jay he's very competitive towards her bc in his eyes zoe has a bigger chance than crystal? mainly bc crystal is so mean to daniel homegirl has 'Men DNI' in her eyes she exudes that energy while jay is hong jay homosexual gay and he's like yo. daniel please look over. hot boy in the area.

jay has never thought of out-sexy-ing zoe tho. zoe's assets are her medium is premium booba (she's only b cup but south korean average cup size is like a small a) and all jay has is his flat chest. even lookism tumblr barely believed in his booba until 2% of almost 300 people suddenly went actually it exists

3. jay & ryuhei

also i just really wanna know how they would interact in canon? my hc of them meeting was off-screen bc i'm sure both of them have more to do with their lives but what if they fought each other. weapon user to weapon user. kali arnis user jay vs ryuhei with his chain bat. two blond boys trying to bonk each other to death until they realize they're both simps actually. and then they bond via trash talk (ryuhei) and getting triggered every time ryuhei mentions romance (jay) and then bonk each other some more bc NO WAY THIS WEIRDO IS NOT MY KINNIE

Do you think Noah will ever make a genuine apology? I really hope he does make a genuine apology at some point and not one just to make people "move on" and "get off his back" or whatever. Even then, there's still blood on his hands, but the least he could do is show that he's trying to educate himself. It seems he's surrounded by a lot of ppl who have those views though, so I have a hard time believing he will truly do that (not saying it's impossible, I grew up with bigots and have completely different views than them). I know he is capable I mean... he's in an Ivy League school (though ppl may argue that's for other reasons aside from brains). IDK, I just see it backfiring either way. Rn complete silence is best and I believe it will be that way for a while.

I can't really say for sure, but still I believe that he will make a genuine apology not just to make us move on from his actions but an actual genuine one. There was a time when I was homophobic, I mean I didn't hate gay people but I still felt grossed out by them and now, I fully support their rights and don't feel grossed by their relationships. Even now, a few months back I was a pro Israeli supporter (since I only listened to biased news on my phone) but now I fully support Palestine over Israel (after listening to actual news about how conflict happened and what the Israeli government did to those poor people). I will not go into more details about this situation because it's a really sensitive topic for me to discuss but what I'm trying to say is that ur surroundings do affect your mind even if it's not deep. Now I'm not trying to justify Noah's action, he is practically an adult he should've known better but I still believe he was affected by his surroundings, I mean he literally grew up in a Jewish family and who knows what his family mindsets are? There might be a possibility that he is being taught about hating Palestine since his childhood, but who knows. I'm not blaming his family but I'm telling what might be the possibility of his current actions.

I've seen people sending him death threats which is disgusting, like it's not helping people who are suffering you are just being as down as him.

And yes you are right, it would be much better if we right now don't talk about this. Meaning complete silence is the best option now. And let's just hope that he makes a genuine apology and people's suffering ends for good this time. And everything went back to normal just like it used to :)

crazy thought but i just saw a bunch of anti-taylor swift stuff on my dash and kinda realized people are using the excuse of her being rich and white to be misogynistic and kinda homophobic? idk like it's worth criticizing exactly how rich she is and also how a lot of her takes are kinda white feminist ones, but i think saying things like "the patron saint for bland white tasteless girls" while posting very pro-barbie stuff on your dash is really hypocritical.

even if you don't think she's excellent, barbie (2023) literally said something like "you don't have to be extraordinary to earn respect" or something.

i'm seeing this kinda gross return to misogynistic tumblr circa 2012/2013 and it's not cute. this is not to say that white women can't be criticized, or that white women have it harder than some, but it is to remind people that just because there is an aspect (or many) of privilege about a person, that doesn't give you the go-ahead to say misogynistic shit too.

also side note: the number of white people i see saying "black people don't listen to her music" is actually absurd. you should not be saying that. that is not a conversation we should be a part of, imo. whether that's true or not is not up for white people to debate jfc.

i mean yes exactly palestinian gay ppl exist too so like i’m not saying support hamas or sth but using israel’s talking points about how they’re better bc they’ve got gay rights (not even true, theyre just not as bad in that regard) is indeed partaking in pinkwashing. very often when people discuss stuff like racism against MENA people or hate crimes against muslims or how our countries are being actively destroyed by the west, ppl will almost justify it by saying that supporting us and not wanting us to die and our countries to be in shambles is somehow supporting homophobia. or they’ll be like “yeah but the homophobia there is so bad” like .. yes? and how is destroying our countries supposed to change that? and it’s quite annoying that these topics get brought up at a time like this for example when palestinians are being killed at such high rates. including gay palestinians. one of my dear friends is a gay palestinian guy and he also made a similar comment to the one ur quoting and it comes from the frustration of only seeing ppl care about gay rights in our countries (& using gay rights in our countries to victimise themselves rather than. yanno thinking about the gay people who actually live there and have to deal with the homophobia) when we’re being bombed or killed or otherwise seriously harmed as a population.

i feel like when ppl want to discuss homophobia in the middle east, they very often do it in this .. tonedeaf way. i’ve had to deal with white & western people literally try to use the homophobia in my country against me, to demonise ME for being brown & born into islam, as if it hasn’t directly affected me & has never affected them. it’s so frustrating having ur own struggles used against u in order to then justify the harm against u or even move the discussion from ur people being killed. idk how else to say it, but basically i get why brown ppl get frustrated when white western gay ppl see our countries being destroyed and decide now is the time to talk about how if they lived in our countries they would totally face homophobia therefore our countries are bad. maybe there’s ppl who go about it in a better way but i’ve generally seen it done in a way that almost dismisses our struggles & centres themselves, hence my distaste

sure! here's a link for people who do wanna give it a watch, i really enjoyed it, she came at this topic from the perspective of someone who used to be (in her own words) a toxic demon phannie. she talked about how people like sh*ne d*wson and onionson would just mention dnp's names in their videos to get views, and she talked about how the community would sexualize or scrutinize dnp in the wildest ways, one of my favs that she brings up in the video was someone had photoshopped dan like basically on top official phil in a spooky gaming video and claimed that THIS REALLY HAPPENED GUYS I TURNED THE BRIGHTNESS UP AT THIS TIMESTAMP AND OMG which is honestly hilarious to me

all the christians on this app that joke about how they are nazis and think genocide and the holocaust are cool things are so unrepentant about it. its not even a "flaw" they are trying to work on or anything they are proudly proclaiming to be Christian when they know what they are doing constitutes a sin and they are unrepentant about it too. like do you think Jesus is going to be like "lol ur so based bro" when they die and go to the gates and he's showing them the ways they sin and them hurling slurs at people is brought up? like they know its a sin and do it all the time with no remorse yet call themselves Christian. They then turn around and judge others for unrepentant sins they do and say they cant be real christians or anything. Some of them are Catholic too and even by church standards the way they act is considered a sin and they still do it so its not even like they interpret the Bible in a way where they can just be like that and think certain groups of people are genetically just bad despite all of us coming from Adam and Eve or anything they just still believe in their racism and treat people bad all the time and then get on here acting like righteous judges of sin and mocking people for being sinners and talking about their disgust of certain sins while they are just openly evil like that. something about that doesnt sit right with me especially with how quick they are to bring up Biblical quotes or God's wrath when they dont seem to fear it themselves

The bolded part foreseen those foolish "Christians", disgracing Jesus work, and making him a PUBLIC disgrace - see, all the people disgusted by Christianity because of the actions & behavior of those hypocrites. Believe it or not, but the image of Christians -as a collective - is extremely important. That's why I'm getting so angry when I see self ID christians acting like fools, because it will ultimately the whole body of Christ...

Countless times I talked about the hypocrisy of Christians caring about the sanctity of life ONLY when it's convenient to them and appear self righteous or opportunistically bully non believers (ex. pro choice pagans) but then turn around wishing death on people, laugh about someone death, or revel about the demise of people they deem unworthy of Love and repentance. They have an extremely selective charity and this hypocrisy will ultimately bite them in the butt. That being said, they probably believe one saved always saved (that Hebrews 4 that I just quoted contradicts) so they probably don't even conceive having to pay back their toxic behavior one day...

They make their entire personality hating on leftits, liberals, feminists, homosexuals, the government, ANYONE different or inconvenient to them, and still think they are qualified to preach the message of Jesus which is 1) love 2) repenting of our sins for the kindgom of God is getting near. They abide to none of these qualifications.

Christianism isn't about simply caring only about those we're getting along with, who look like us, think like us, etc. It's about crucifying the flesh and invoke God to entirely rewire our life. Christianism isn't supposed to confirm us in our bias - unfortunately, I feel too many people come into Christianism for that purpose (to have an excuse to bully gay, piss off liberals, etc.).

Those people chose Christianity for the worst reason, and I'm absolutely not surprised they don't bear any fruit. I would be curious about their testimony and what evidence they have of getting the holy spirit, because from my perspective,it is pretty nonexistent whenever I stumble upon this flock of people
