I’m seeing some people who have watched the Pluto anime but haven’t read the manga and are confused about some aspects of the story.

If anyone wants anything clarified I think I have the answers. I’ve read the manga a million times and waited 6 years for the anime to come out, so it’s really cool to have more people interested in the story! The fandom is finally getting bigger!

I recommend for anyone who hasn’t watched the anime or read the manga but you plan to watch the anime first, please skip the intro of the anime as quickly as possible because it contains spoilers.

I am still hoping for someone with old Mystery Bonita issues to be kind enough to contact me so that I can see the former tributes (and potentially scanlate them). They don't sell issues older than a year on e-book stores, so get your copies while you still can! I am in particular after the 2021/9 issue which has a Maya Mineo manga.

I pray that they will compile these tributes in a single volume later. I will be so buying it!

So, this is the intro of the Netflix anime series of Urasawa's amazing Pluto.

Interesting choice of design, my bet is that they wanted to recreate the MCU logo's "from the comic page to the big screen" vibe.

But one thing immediately hit me -

Look at those speech bubbles.

That font ain't right. The VIZ comic has properly arranged words in the bubbles and, of course, the classic translated comic book font. Not to mention the translated sound effects.

Soo... did someone at Studio M2 simply grab a scanlation for the intro...?

Seeing the Japanese view on the unauthorised distribution of mangas this is more than hilarious... :-)
