I was on the the Bo- Katan tag recently where people think that the ownership of the Darksaber is gonna either lead to her and Din being a couple or her outright challenging Din for the saber, but I don’t think either of them is right.
The romance thing is just... no. The writers know the audience. I don’t think anyone wants that. Both Din stans and Bo stans. Plus this is a show about a father and son. A show about people with different baggage coming together and creating a family. Romance really isn’t part of this show’s ethos. Nor has romance been a theme in any Star Wars show since Rebels (I haven’t seen Andor yet, so the statement might not hold up if Cassian does have a love interest). The writers just wouldn’t go that route for this show.
Now to the part I actually want to talk about: Bo- Katan challenging Din. Maybe this is a hot take, but I don’t think Bo would challenge him. If she wanted to, she would have done that after Grogu left with Luke. Strategically, that makes the most sense. Din just fought Gideon while Bo and the rest of her squad had a relatively easier time getting to the bridge. Din is physically more tired than her. Additionally, has had no training with the Darksaber, while she probably had couple years worth of fighting with it. Also keep in mind that Bo- Katan was Pre’s second in command. She led the Nite Owls. She fought against the Empire. Bo- Katan has 20 more years of fight experience than Din. Even if Din is equal to Bo- Katan (which is highly unlikely), Din just lost Grogu. He is mentally in no shape to fight Bo after losing the one person who gave meaning to his life (other than his cult). The best time to get the Darksaber back was on that warship.
More importantly, we need to look at Bo- Katan’s character arc. During the majority of TCW, Bo was against Satine’s pacifist ways, but after her actions in the Lawless arc, we see her actively trying to undo the damage she did. Bo even seems to question her ideas and to come to the realization that maybe she was wrong and Satine was right when Ahsoka leaves Mandalore in S7.
We then she her in Rebels, where we learn that the Jedi named her the regent of Mandalore, but that was a short held title since Order 66 happened soon after. From the way Fenn (you know, the leader of the Protectors. The ones in charge of keeping Satine/ the ruler of Mandalore safe) talked about Bo- Katan and the rest of Clan Kryze, its safe to assume that she was some form of freedom fighter for Mandalore under the Empire’s rule. He was ready to attack Sabine when she said that she was part of House Wren because Ursa was part of Death Watch, but, like I stated previously, Bo was second in command. Fenn should have been more aggressive to Bo than Sabine, but he wasn’t. The only logical conclusion I can come to is that Bo was active and public in her fight for Mandalore while Ursa wasn’t, so the Protectors have more reason to trust Bo in the beginning of the Rebel’s Mandalore arc than Sabine. I want to specifically look at the part with Sabine and the Darksaber because she offered it to Bo- Katan in the beginning of the arc, and Bo- Katan turned it down. She only accepted the Darksaber after the rest of the clans voted Bo to have it. Even then she took it for Mandalore and for her sister, Satine.
Character arc wise, it doesn’t make sense for her to win back the saber from Din. It makes sense for her to do that with Gideon. Her most popular quote from TCW is “No outsider will ever rule Mandalore”, but Din isn’t an outsider. Additionally, we never once see her have the desire to rule Mandalore during TCW and Rebels. Clan Kryze clearly has power, or else Satine wouldn’t have been in the line of succession. PR- wise, it would have made more sense for Bo- Katan to be the face of Death Watch since 1.) it goes back to the classic “siblings fighting over the throne” trope and 2.) the public would actually question if Satine’s rule is right when her sister herself doesn’t like it. But Bo doesn’t. She follows Pre. Bo could have fought Sabine, or taken the Darkersaber when it was offered to her the first time, but, as I stated previously, she doesn’t. If the writers wanted Bo- Katan to have the desire to rule, they had multiple opportunities to do, but they don’t.
To understand this decision by the writers, need to look at the one common thread between both times Bo- Katan became the ruler of Mandalore: Satine. Bo- Katan brings up Satine both times, and, both times, she confesses that she’s not her sister. Bo- Katan does not have the desire to rule, but she does have the desire to do right by her sister. That’s what this is all about. She is the Mandalorian Obi- Wan. Obi- Wan failed his brother, so he spent the rest of his life trying to right that wrong by protecting Luke and Leia. Satine’s Luke and Leia, her children, is Mandalore (and Korkie). The only way Bo- Katan can do right by her sister is by helping Mandalore finally achieve the peace Satine died for.
So, no, I don’t think Bo- Katan is going to challenge Din, and no, I don’t think her arc this season is about letting go of her desire to rule Mandalore either. Bo- Katan’s arc this season is about letting go of the guilt she has over her sister. She needs to let Satine go. Bo lost her mom and dad, and before she can grieve her sister, the only other family she has left, is taken away by two Jedi. She comes back a year later as a changed person, ruling the planet when she was alone (and vulnerable to a certain Clan that wanted back power). The two got in a big enough fight that Bo- Katan left and joined Death Watch. Bo- Katan didn’t want to bring two Sith lords to Mandalore, but she was force choked while her leader looked on smiling. The Sith killed her sister and lead to the fall of her home world. She finally kicked the Sith lord out, but by bringing the Republic to Mandalore, she basically opened the door to the Empire’s rule. Bo- Katan spent the next 16 or so years fighting the Empire until she was elected as the leader of Mandalore by the other clans. Then Moff Gideon happened. Bo- Katan has been going from one fight to another for her whole life. Maybe she finally realizes to take a freaking break and process everything she’s been through. She’s in her freaking 60s for the force’s sake. Mando S3 could do for Bo- Katan what the OWK show did for Obi- Wan, she can finally let go of what she owes to Satine.

3 Mandos and a Baby AU: The Cadet Squad
Korkie: Duchess Satine’s son nephew and the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. Natural leader, charismatic, and also totally Force sensitive. Bo’s not sure if Korkie was Force sensitive in her first life, but she’s sure as hell he wasn’t so weird.
Korkie isn’t weird, he’s just being haunted by a bunch of dead folks. Jaster Mereel, Tarre Vizsla, Grandpappy Adonai Kryze, some dude named Myles that Jaster calls his son-in-law, and some old guy who just goes by 99, among others. His brain has a speed dial to the Manda and he just never explains it. Everyone but Fenn Rau think he’s at least a little crazy and talking to his imaginary friends, but as long as they give sound advice it’s all good.
Sometimes the voices give him the answers to dilemmas and shit, sometimes they lead him into trouble, sometimes they just guide him to plot conveniences, and every so often Tarre brings Korkie a baby man eating predator to keep as a pet. This is how Bo-Katan ended up with a strill (who I still need a name for!). We call these instances Deus Ex Korkie.
Amis: The impulsive one of the group. Took to explosives training like a duck to water. He gets too distracted while flying in combat situations so he’s a designated gunner. He struggles to turn in assignments on time–not because they’re too difficult, Amis is super intelligent–and he’s constantly suffering from severe executive disfunction. The boy sets alarms for everything, much to the consternation of his professors. Even with the alarms unless he has something to focus with, like music, he’ll forget what he’s supposed to be doing in five minutes.
He and Soniee are siblings! They were both adopted at they end of the Clan Wars, and then one of their parents died in a Death Watch bombing when they were like 5. So they were raised by a single buir. This might never come up or be relevant but their buir is a non-binary Miralukan.
Soniee: Our tech genius queen. If she wasn’t sent to the Academy she probably would have embarked on a campaign of cybercrime. Those were the only two options.
She’s Alrich’s favorite simply because they can both discuss art. Sure, he can also do that with Korkie, but discussing art with Korkie also means discussing art with a bunch of dead guys who may or may not be imaginary.
She runs an illicit gambling ring in the cafeteria where the currency of choice is muja fruit products. It’s totally not part of her 87-step plan to get Lagos to fall in love with her, the fact that muja fruit is Lagos’s favorite is a complete coincidence.
Lagos: Behold, our lady of common sense. She’s Ursa’s favorite simply because she’s the only one who, upon being given a spear to train with for the first time, didn’t almost immediately get themself killed. The others describe Lagos as “overly cautious”. Lagos would describe herself as “sane”.
She took to medic training like a Nabooian takes to child politicians. She’s a decently good sniper too, which makes Ursa so proud because Korkie and Amis seem to be incapable of watching their six and Soniee might honestly just let them get beat up if they’re running late with their muja fruit betting debts.
At a certain point her brain just starts to go into gay panic shutdown when she sees Soniee. They’re two useless gays your honor, and everyone but them can see it’s mutual. That is until crazy uncle Fenn goes and straight up tells them. Alrich is a bit annoyed because he had just popped another bag of bangcorn and now what’s he gonna do with it? Watch Fenn pine over Bo-Katan? That’s old news.
Alrich: He’s the cadet squad’s upperclassman advisor. He’s responsible for these idiots, which makes sneaking them out to train or for their verd’goten a lot easier. He also winds up getting invited to the palace a lot because Korkie’s mom aunt is just happy her strange boy is making friends. The minute he’s allowed to bring a plus one he brings Ursa, just to see what would happen (what happens is Satine likes Ursa better than him, and they both wind up feeling super guilty that they raised their daughter in a fashion that she named an anti-mando genocide device after this woman. She found the time to hand bake awesome cookies!)

JF:OS/My RepCom Musing: Hair and mandalorian norms
Appearance wise, the most untypical thing about Tor Vizsla and his second-in-command is how both kept their hair long and loose.
Tumblr media
And to be clear - I love their designs and this statement by any means is not a complaint of mine and more pointing out how these two men differ from other Mandalorians seen or described in sources focused on the same era (from Mandalorian civil war to rise of the Empire).
Because if we synthesize sources from Jango Fett: Open Seasons and Republic Commando and even New Canon, it is easy to notice that the short hair is the common norm for all factions, especially men. What of course makes sense. Short hair is a more pragmatic choice, especially for people working as mercenaries and soldiers and generally, leading a dangerous, full of violence life.
So we have Jaster Mereel
Tumblr media
and Jango Fett (as freshly made Squad Leader and Bounty Hunter)
Tumblr media
we have Silas and unnamed True Mandalorians
Tumblr media
and Montross (as a True Mandalorian and Bounty Hunter)
Tumblr media
or older Walon Vau:
The man had a long square jawed face that was all bone and frown lines, and graying dark hair cut brutally short. [Triple Zero]
and Kal Skirata:
Tumblr media
or Rav Bralor as presented in Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 6
Tumblr media
and let’s not forget Mandalorians from New Canon,
like Rebels
Tumblr media
(in which Ursa may have longer but well-tied hair)
or The Mandalorian
Tumblr media
(and again, Koska may have long but well tied-hair)
or The Clone Wars
Tumblr media
Mandalorians as pragmatic people prefer to have short hair, no matter what is their gender, fraction or age. Some women - like Ursa and Koska so far - keep longer hair, but well tied and/or braided so that it could not disturb them or put them at a disadvantage during the fight. Meanwhile, Tor and his second-in-command seem to be the only men - and Mandalorians in general - with long, loose hair. And Tor did that from the first issue to the last with action taking place in-universe somehow throught like what? Two decades? Even when a large part of his face and head was burned by fire?
Of course, long hair could be related to their clan customs or faith or whatever but... Pre Vizsla was part of the same clan and he always kept his hair short, even shaved them in later seasons of TCW so... this is really interesting yet quite a wild detail about Tor and his second-in-comman to, for whatever reason, put this choice of apparence over commonly practiced pragmatism among Mandalorians.

Ahsoka 1x04 Thoughts
I’m very late to the party, I know. Anyway. Below the cut be spoilers.
First of all, we found out Sabine’s family died on Mandalore in the Mandalorian Purge. I’m so sad. RIP Tristan, Ursa, and Alrich.
The fact that I have to clarify “the Mandalorian Purge” because there’s been more than one purge now? Fuck the Empire. I’m literally losing count of how many genocides Palpatine caused that we explicitly know of. We’re up to like 5. The Jedi, Nightsisters, Lasat, Mandalorians, the Whills… I might be missing one. And who knows how many happened offscreen? Probably a lot.
DAVE why did you have to kill the Wrens off? They didn’t even live on Mandalore?? Unless they moved while it was under Bo-Katan’s rule.
Ahsoka struggling to fight Baylan makes sense story-wise, but is one of those things that I think plays much differently in live action than in animation so it’s a little jarring. It’s odd to see Ahsoka struggle so much in a fight. Heck, it’s odd to see Ahsoka not towering over her opponents, in animation she’s basically the same height as Vader. Hera and Ahsoka next to each other a few episodes ago and Hera being taller was disconcerting.
Shin knocking Sabine’s helmet off somehow also felt weird. I know it’s because they wanted her face exposed, but it felt off. I wish they’d had her take the helmet off.
Sabine doesn’t have her jetpack. :( Budget reasons I assume.
Sabine has a Rebel symbol on the pauldron where her number 5 used to be, and a purrgil on the one that she kept painting with various animals. It started with an anooba, it had a convor on it at one point, presumably for Ahsoka, and there’s definitely at least one version I’m blanking on. Now there’s a purrgil for Ezra.
I’m assuming the reason Sabine feels like Ezra’s the only family she has left is because her biological family died, Hera is busy being a general with Chopper and Jacen, and Zeb’s also off working for the New Republic. Sabine tried to train with Ahsoka but it didn’t seem to work out too well. She wound up kind of stuck in a rut unable to do anything while everyone else moved on. Not mention she’s likely grieving for her family and the rest of Mandalore. That short where Sabine and her brother dismantle an Imperial outpost built on a statue of Tarre Viszla is hitting a bit different now. :( Her dad took her to see that statue so she could see Mandalorian artwork, and now everything is gone.
Every week I forget David Tennant is in this and every week Huyang shows up onscreen and I go “David Tennant!!”
Loving both Baylan and Shin so far. Baylan’s so different from any other Order 66 survivor we’ve seen, and it’s neat to see a Darkside former Jedi who doesn’t go nuts with it. Shin’s emo-ness is fun too. They make a good foil to Ahsoka and Sabine, and I’m curious how Baylan found Shin and ended up taking her as an apprentice. So sad Ray isn’t here to see the reception his performance is getting.
Shin and Baylan’s costuming is also really interesting. It feels like an old/ancient kind of design, like robes and armor- but different from the kind we’ve previously seen in Star Wars. I love that Shin has a padawan braid, too.
Marrok exploding into smoke with one good lightsaber hit- I’m assuming that Morgan was puppeting his corpse? But 1. Don’t Nightsister corpses have to be specially prepared for reanimation? 2. He was talking? I don’t remember the Nightsister zombies doing that? (*whispers* 3. Why is Morgan human, and a Merrin knockoff)
All that theorizing about who Marrok was and he just exploded into a cloud of smoke. Lol.
Jacen getting to pull the lever for the Ghost to go was adorable. Shows how much of a team Hera and Jacen are with one simple action.
Also Jacen saying he has a bad feeling about this! He got to say the thing, and it was so like his father. 💚
Hearing Hera being called “Phoenix Leader” made me happy. I hope at least some of her squad survived the Eye of Sion’s jump to hyperspace.
(Eye of Sion? Is this an Old Republic nod?)
Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds!!!!
Ahsoka talking to Anakin!!! I’m going to combust when we get Ahsoka and Anakin interactions next episode, I live for them.
I think this ride’s finally getting underway next episode, it’s very exciting! I have a feeling things are going to get crazy.

Ashley Williams
Age:28
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Born on April 14th, 2158 on the colony world Sirona in the 61 Ursae Majoris system, Ashley comes from a large family that includes a long line of Alliance soldiers: her great-grandmother, her grandfather, and her father all swore the Oath of Service.
Following her family's tradition, Ashley enlisted in the Alliance Navy as a marine after high school and was assigned to the Recruit Training Depot in Macapá, Brazil. During training, Chief Williams was certified proficient with the standard-issue M7 Lancer assault rifle and light to standard-weight combat hardsuits. She also completed certification in zero-gravity combat aboard the Rakesh Sharma Orbital Platform in Earth geosynchronous orbit. For Hostile Environment Assault Training, she was assigned to Fort Charles Upham on Titan, one of Saturn's moons, where she was awarded a commendation for her bold assault technique in a field exercise simulating an attack on turian point defense emplacements.
Drill Instructor Gunnery Chief Ellison noted her steadfast endurance and aggressive instincts, and promoted her to squad leader. Subsequently Ashley is promoted again to platoon guide after her effective tutelage of the less skilled members of her training unit. Her platoon had logged unanimous positive feedback on her leadership in a recent fitness review cycle, and fellow soldier Private Nirali Bhatia praised her focus on team-building exercises and "tough but fair" discipline.
Despite glowing performance reviews, Ashley was denied further opportunities for advancement. Having served on numerous groundside garrisons she has repeatedly requested a transfer to a shipboard posting, but each request had been denied, without explicit reasons.
Ashley's Military Vocational Code is B4 and her blood type is B-Positive. She had received genetic enhancements including in-utero vision correction (maternal predisposition for nearsightedness) and the Class-B Alliance Infantry Upgrade Package.

Some emotional art I did for two of my characters in the Clone Wars fanfic I was writing over the summer. Atlas and Max were the only two who lost their entire original squad before they joined their new and current squad, the Ursa's.

Murder drone Oc: E-103 Gamma
I’m going to try to do this Oc Bio every two weeks. Now lets get this Started with the dad of the group
Backstory: Gamma is the leader of team Ion and the Father figure of the Family. Gamma uses his size ,strength and heavy weapons to Brutalize anyone who dares to threaten his Family. Built during the early years of the Company back when it was called JcJenson's Robotics company. He was a Military drone used to help Colonize worlds the Company had bought. He fought on Countless planets killing dozens of Alien creatures Space Pirates, Rebelling Worker drone and invading Companies that tried to press their luck.
Gamma did this for two centuries until his Produce Line was discontinued and he was dumbed on the last Planet he was helping Colonized Mercury-2. An he was reassigned to being Head security guards and one of the few selected to Progenitors of Project Disassembly. He was there to see the first Prototypes Disassembly drones walk of the assemble line. An even fought some of them to test if they were combat ready. He was stationed there for three decades training and seeing off several generations disassembly drones and growing a romantic relationship with a Mech Pilot drone named Beta ursa. He also grow an attachment to those he trained. The one he grew the most attached to was a young Serial designation V seeing her as the daughter he and Beta never asked for but were happy to have. An when she was set off Gamma and Beta were there to see her go on her latest mission with her new squad mates.
Through the years of training and service to the Company. Gamma knew his days were numbered. An no amount of Loyalty and hard work could stop some higher up from deeming him obsolete. So he decide to take a page out of the Human’s books and Take an early retirement. He just need a way out and that would arrive when the rumors of a rebellion on Copper-9 started to pop up.  He thought it was a good time to jump ship and used his position as one of the Trainers of the Disassembly drone to get a free ride to Copper-9. So he took Beta because of their relationship and Having a fifteen foot tall war mech on the team never hurt .An he took an old squad mate Delta who he owned a few favors too
When they arrived on World via the drop pod the group was immediately surrounded by the Family which at the time was comprised of N,V,E,S and Uzi. Who were already to fight until V saw Gamma any tension undercut By V hugger basically her father. Gamma slotted into the father roll rather easily seeing as most of the Drones there had either parentally or self-esteem and he was there to fix the best he could
Looks: His current body is a mix between a generation two disassembly drones mixed with a fifth generation military drone. So he stands about eight feet tall with a wing span of ten feet, tank treads on his feet allowing him to move faster on the ground where he felt more at home then in the sky. The armor he wears looked like a heavy metal Bomb suit that can be taken off to reveal a terminator style skeletal body that he rarely showed off only when he needs to  repair the Armor itself. He has several different masks and helmets to hide his face do to it looking similar to Skeletor’s and the fact that he is bald
Weapons: Gamma has a plasm cannon in his left arm ,An anti tank gun in his right. twin Gatland guns and on both shoulder's he had micro missile batteries
Personality: Being a Military drone Gamma fits perfectly as the father figure of family as he is the stern, stable, commanding voice that keeps the family under control. He very protective of those under him and it can cause him to be a little too caution when it comes to dangerous situation that could risk the lives of his children. He is also quick to anger not as bad a Beta when he see one of family hurt. Nearly killing Both Doc and Chen after the capture of Fritz as revenge for the deaths of S,P,Q and Delta only being stop When Beta stepped in and stopper him as well as Doc Promising to bring the fallen back to life good as new. But besides that Gamma dose his best with the skills he has and failure is just something expected as a father.
An that’s it if you want to know more my Asks are open and I have a lot of idea bounding about in my head

The New War part 4
Jaune Arc's All Out Attack
Just outside of Shinrah district.
Jaune and Ren had to start traveling by rooftops because of the miasma that is covering most of the streets due to this though Jaune is getting exhausted from all the Aura Jumping. It wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't caring Ren doing so.
Jaune: Talking about me and junk food but your heavy asf.
Ren: Jaune! I don't want to here anything about you being tired from carrying me across rooftops.
Ren: You not only suggested this method, but aren't you the one that caught a speeding car with your body.
Ren: That Torchwick guy escaped but you did something unbelievable.
Jaune: I was in the hospital for a week for three cracked ribs. Not to mention it knocked me unconscious.
Ren: Even more of a reason for you to not be bitching rn.
Jaune: I think I like this Ren get used to me.
The two took cover at the top of they're current building then observed the captured cop and EMS workers. They could hear a man who was obviously a squad leader sporting heavy armor and two large saw swords.
Atlas Elite Oppressor: It's honorable seeing so many of you fighting to protect your kingdom. How come there are no soldier's only law enforcement?
Atlas Elite: I'll tell you why, it's because Ozpin didn't think they where worth sending into the city. That they needed to protect the academy.
Atlas Elite: So in other words your all expendable.
Police officer: Shut your mouth you fucking Terrorist.
Atlas Elite: Terrorist!? Lol where Atlas solider's.
Alvin Marcus: Listen son in all my years alive Atlas would never do something like this. My name is police chief Alvin Marcus.
Alvin: Ironwood would never order an attack against his home kingdom.
Atlas Elite: Well you know what Alvin thank you for having the balls to speak up... Now... Die for it.
And with a lift and a swing the man's head was taken off.
Jaune was finally at his boiling point as he was about to make a split second decision till he felt Rena hand grab his own. Jaune turned and looked Ren in the eyes who had a face seriousness. There was a mutual understanding between the two but Jaune knew if someone else died then he would step in. They both continue to watch on.
Atlas Elite: Well then... He's dead... So who's next?
Atlas Elite: Let's see they're are 40 of you we'll start executing you guys in groups of 10.
Atlas Elite: Okay men begin. Try not to have to much fun.
It was just like that the men and women where gonna be shot and killed. Police officer's and EMS workers who most had families. Jaune couldn't take it anymore so he jumped into action.
Ren: JAUNE!
Jaune: Bastards landed and swung his blade at one of the soldiers and as like nothing the man flew back with a huge slash in his chest and his eyes lifeless. Jaune didn't take it into consideration but the man he just killed didn't have an aura. Which means that most of these guys will go down easily.
(Jaune's mind)
" Is it really a good thing that it's that easy. "
"Ricky: Do what you have to Jaune, to protect the people around you and care about."
The Atlas Elite was surprised to see the young man cut down one of his men so easily. It turned out that's all it took for the police officer's to fight back as now a big battle of attrition had began. So the Elite did the only thing he thought was right and that was to take out this young man. He could already tell that his target was a killer at heart. That Mistress would love for someone like this to join her ranks. No hesitation just calculated swings and focused blocking. He is block bullets and using his aura to defend himself from and oppressor troopers. Now there's a green one huh interesting
Jaune had just took what felt like a hit from Cardin's mace to the side of the head but it was just a shotgun buckshot. He then stuck his blade into the guys knee rotating his wrist and and realizing something this felt odd killing these guys so easily. Whatever he needs to do he'll do it to protect these people. All of a sudden Jaune's senses struck him both physically and mentally as he was then sent five feet and bouncing off the side of a car.
Ren: JAUNE!
Jaune could hear Ren yelling out to him. He was fine he was able to lift his shield up to take the wide and aggressive swing he had very little time to react as he used his sword to slide and redirect a blade that was slashed vertically at him. Jaune then spun out of it and backhanded the attacker with his shield. The difference was that this tall bulky guy with duel wielding saw blades that are atleast half of Jaune's size. Jaune was at 6'3 so these swords where ridiculously big. Obviously this guy over compensating. Shit why did the commander have to be a tall and bulky hulk of a man, why couldn't he just of been cute like Ren.
Then it was a saving grace as A helicopter with Vale soldiers showed up and began to fire upon the enemy this made the guy end his attacks on Jaune and begin to fall back but Jaune wasn't having it as he chased him leaving Ren behind.
Jaune: Oh No You Don't Ass Hole Get Back Here!
One of the retreating soldiers was about to fire on Jaune till Ren pulled the trigger on one of his pistols and blew the guys brains out. Ren was not as shocked as he should of been. He wasn't about to let Jaune get killed so he chased after him as Vale military forces moved in.
Jaune had cornered the man. Then aimed his sword at the man.
Jaune: You'll pay for what you've done. Killing all of those innocent people.
Atlas Elite: Laughing... You got fight in ya kid.
The two stood there reading to see who would swing first. But neither one had to wait as the man rushed at Jaune only for Jaune to smirk as his chest glowed bright blue over his heart and without any warning Jaune sheathe his blade and went to punch the ground with his left hand all of the energy he had built up. This new attack Jaune was saving for whenever him and Yang spared again let alone it be Pyrrha.
Jaune: BAHAMET..FURY
With a mighty roar and loud kaboom that sent out a bright blue blaze that can be seen from Beacon Tower. This stunned Ozpin and Glynda who knew who that could of been. Especially since a news chopper caught the attack live. For the world too see, so teams RWBY, CFVY, Nora and Pyrrha saw it.
Ruby: Well guess we know who that would of been for if we had Combat class on yesterday.
All Jokes aside the chopper was waiting for the dust to clear. When it finally did Jaune was now Shirtless and sporting a big gash on his right arm it looks like the guy broke his Aura. Something that everyone at Beacon knew was next to impossible because Jaune is undefeated when it came to combat class. If one doesn't count the draw between him and Pyrrha. The two fought it out until they both fell from exhaustion. But what was about happen now was not a spar where it's fight till your at your max. No this fight was of a higher stake, Jaune's life was on the line.
The man got up and used his blade's to support himself.
The Butcher: Your... One pain in the ass you know that?
The Butcher: They call me The Butcher. That's my name now what's yours?
Jaune stayed quiet for a second because he was honestly still shocked that some one took the full brunt of his shock wave ground smash.
Jaune: Jaune Arc... No relation
The Butcher: A Arc huh? You truly are special.
Without a second passing The Butcher rushed in and Jaune eyes tightened as his vision focused and his mindset locked in. This battle will result in one of them dying. Jaune was able to deflect the The Butcher's swing but his wild style was new to Jaune so he wasn't expecting the second blade to come out of no where and slash his right arm and knocking his blade away leaving another gash if torn flesh and on the underside of Jaune's arm. This was bad he wouldn't be able to put a lot of power behind any punches on this arm. But that was okay Jaune knew what he would have to resort to Jaune then burst forward. Eyes lacking fear but a resolve he slide in grabbing The Butcher by his waist and just like that Ursa in class Jaune German suplexed him, again rolling into it and lifting the man again but this time keeping a two arm bear hug and slammed the guy on his shoulders sideways. Again Jaune rolled into it and lifted the man up and with his feet planted and with raw strength and pure adrenaline running through him Jaune threw the disarmed Butcher into the side of a building where he collided and bounced off of. Jaune was gassed after that display by no means was Butcher a light weight at 8feet tall and weight what felt like a ton it was hard to do what Jaune did. He may have caught a car at top speed but he hadn't been through hell before it. It just happened when he was at full strength.
Jaune felt the hands of someone familiar to him grab him. Ren had grab Jaune and gave him a shot of Adrenaline Ren looked like shit like he had got caught in Jaune's explosion.
Jaune: Dame Ren I'm sorry-
Ren had shut him up with a painful shot of adrenaline to the to the leg.
Jaune: Ow... Sorry .
Ren: You will be if we make it out of this.
Ren: I don't have any aura and my weapons are destroyed thanks to you. But that guy needs to go down.
Jaune: You thinking what I'm thinking then😁.
Ren blushing of embarrassment: Shut up
Jaune: Aww yeah Martial Arc's time.
Ren: ugh
The two ran in at the butcher who had recovered and was not ready to fight a juiced up Jaune and what looks like the ninja from earlier. But what surprised The Butcher more was the Ninja had just vanished and Jaune Arc looked to be throwing something invisible. It didn't click until he felt what was a foot to his jaw and a right hook to his rib cage one so powerful he felt his ribs crunch and shatter with it this dropped him to one knew then a barrage of calculated punches from the ninja and bone breaking bashes from Jaune. When the barrage ceased The Butcher was dumb founded the one eye he could see out off. He saw that Jaune was now casting a bright blue flaming aura and with one touch he turned the emerald ninja next to him glowing a bright green flaming aura as well.
The two locked eyes with The Butcher who was now expressing great fear.
Ren: When did you learn how to do this?
Jaune: I'll tell you later.
The two then lead in like a dance of blue and green as they both went in for punches kicks and one of Jaune's kicked sending The Butcher skyward. Ren Jumped into Jaune's hands and launched forward to meet The Butcher he super kicked him and without any warning Ren felt a burst of power as he flew forward looking back in slow motion to see Jaune winking at him and his chest burning bright blue. That's when Ren realized that Jaune had found a way not only to convert kinetic energy into aura, but he can transfer it to other's. Ren flew forward grabbing The Butcher and throwing him down towards Jaune who had jumped towards The Butcher who was beaten and bloody.
Ren: Jaune please don't kill him.
(Jaune's Mind)
No worries Ren I refused to be the monster that this man is. I will put him in his fucking place though.
Jaune: HAA!
With a discharge of all the energy Jaune knocked The lights out of The Butcher. His head snapping back from the impact but not killing him but mainly knocking him out.
Jaune landed and caught the Butcher to keep him from receiving anymore damage.
Five minutes later
Jaune came back sword in his sheathe, even though it took him a minute to find it. Ren was just standing there back towards Jaune. Jaune walked up and lightly pushed Ren's shoulder.
Jaune: From what I see the military is rounding up the last remaining terrorist and Atlas only General Ironwood is talking with Ozpin that's why there are war ships up above.
Ren: He shows up only now?
Jaune: Yeah but atleast it's over right.
Ren: Hey did you ever actually turn your scrolls distress signal?
Jaune: Yeah about that... Hehe I dropped my scroll when I rushed in to stop those guys earlier. Hehe
Ren: I want to punch you right now but I'm to weak to put any force behind it.
Then something grabbed the two's attention
Nora: Ren! Jaune!
They both turned to see they're teams and Professor Ozpin and Glynda.
But Jaune knew he was in trouble when he saw Yang and Ruby rushed him. Jaune knew he was about to receive the world's strongest hug and beating courtesy of Yang he has ever taken.
(Jaune's mind)
"I die today, this is how I die."

winter guard #1 or WHY AREN’T YOU FLYING THE PLANE?????? LIKE I’M SURE YELENA IS A FANTASTIC PILOT BUT YOU LITERALLY HAVE ONE SKILLSKET THAT SUPERCEDES ALL OTHERS AND THAT’S YOUR FUCKING ABILITY TO FLY A PLANE MY GO D-
Tumblr media
Leads: Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian & Yelena Belova aka White Widow. Characters: Carol Danvers, Black Widow, Crimson Dynamo, Red Widow, Vostok, Perun, Chernobog, Vanguard, Darkstar & Ursa Major. Mentioned: Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk. Teams: Winter Guard & Avengers. Programs: Red Room and Wolf Spider Spec Ops. Written by Ryan Cady
Background: Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk was arrested by the Winter Guard for crimes against the Russian government, assumed kidnapped and tortured, and any agent affiliated with the Russian intelligence community who disclosed anything about Walters’ arrest will be prosecuted or otherwise punished by the Russian government. The Avengers are incredibly invested in finding Walters and opposing the Winter Guard.
We start off in the Avengers Secure Holding Facility in an undisclosed location in the Pacific Northwest. Yelena Belova is being interrogated by Carol Danvers under suspicion that she worked with the Winter Guard involving Walters’ arrest.
Tumblr media
The Wolf Spider Spec Ops group attempts to break her out in order to capture or kill her for her assumed admission to the Avengers regarding Walters and she escapes in the process. Before a Spider can kill her Black Widow gets her out on the back of her motorcycle (this is sapphic culture we stan) and takes Yelena to her San Francisco Base of Operations where Natalya informs her that the Winter Guard is at war with the Avengers and that her reluctance to join sides means she will continue to be a Person of Interest to the Avengers.
Tumblr media
(She’s referred to as the White Widow multiple times??? I’m not sure what the basis for this is, I haven’t read enough comics with Yelena to know if this is a new thing, but it does put her in direct thematic contrast to the main baddie of the comic: Red Widow. However the whole Black Widow, White Widow, Red Widow thing is giving very much Suess energy.)
Yelena discloses to Natalya that she’s working alongside Alexei because they have similar interests in the motherland and that their mission did not involve anyone else, including the Guard, or at least it wasn’t supposed to. She doesn’t want any of the Guard dead. Her relationship with the Guard here I believe is supposed to be a reference to the broader theme of Yelena’s (& many Russian people’s) complicated and nuanced relationship to her homeland as well as a storyline that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Mikhail, Ursa Major, is revealed to have been killed, although not by an Avenger, but at the hands of “Red Widow,” a mysterious Red Room graduate that Natalya describes as possibly inhuman. The main story of the comic begins as Yelena agrees to tell Natalya why “Alexei and I went home...and why I do not hate the Winter Guard.”
Three weeks before...
Yelena and Alexei are working together to break into a highly secure base in order to steal mission details for something called Operation Snowblind, the Red Guardian’s last assignment.
Red Widow is shown working for the Security Council and leading the Winter Guard.
Tumblr media
As she’s assigning the task of hunting Yelena and Alexei down she describes Alexei as the U.S.S.R’s “failed response to Captain America,” “declared MIA after the Cold War,” and “resurfaced in the United States after rotting away for years in prison.” But also frames him as a childhood hero for most of those present at the meeting. She describes Yelena as “Yelena Belova aka White Widow, aka Black Widow, aka the Red Room’s second biggest mistake.”
There’s a throwaway line where Red Widow mentions that the Winter Guard doesn’t question orders. But several members like Darkstar, Crimson Dynamo (the defacto leader), and Ursa Major express discomfort at their assignment.
Tumblr media
Crimson Dynamo aka Dmitri Bukharin comments that hunting down Yelena may be in their purview but that Alexei was a national hero and he didn’t agree to lead this new iteration of the Winter Guard to be a hit squad. Vanguard aka Nikolai Krylenko seen above in red, says Alexei may never have been someone to idolize and if he was, that person is long dead and that those who looked up to him should be the ones to bring him down anyway.
Tumblr media
Alexei and Yelena recover the hard drive containing information on Operation Snowblind. Yelena is skeptical of the hard drive’s worthiness of the impending fight with the Winter Guard and Alexei responds with the Russian proverb: “What the pen writes the axe cannot erase.”
Yelena engages the Winter Guard while Alexei secures an “exit strategy.” The only remarkable thing from the fight was this weird interaction between Mikhail and Yelena (and yes, Mikhail, as in the guy Natalya said the Red Widow killed 3 weeks from now):
Tumblr media
I’m holding out hope but the stereotyping so far is either purposeful in order to be refuted and used later but right now it’s in place of Mikhail having an actual personality. I have no earthly, yawning fuck why it was necessary to mention that Yelena smells like Alexei in this other than bearlore but ok. Reading forward this dynamic can be inferred, at least to me, as a very close friendship or allyship that eventually turned adversarial as Mikhail and Yelena continue to snipe at each other’s choice of work:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is interesting twofold: one, we have no idea what Operation Snowblind is and why it would make Yelena choose to forgo her usual operational mystique in order to obtain the hard drive, but from what is shown in Widowmakers she’s disillusioned by the government and contract work in general and may be moving onto more loftier pursuits in the name of the Russian people. Two, it’s interesting in a story building sense because Yelena’s love for her country being directly at odds with that country’s love for her is very relevant in modern Russia:
WIDOWMAKERS PANEL 1:
Tumblr media
WIDOWMAKERS PANEL 2:
Tumblr media
...i digress.
During Yelena’s fight with the Guard Alexei is doing something with the hard drive (???) and is interrupted by Vanguard, who’s wearing an iteration of the Red Guardian’s OG suit, he then boomerangs the kid through a window which was funny. But if I have to suffer through this boomerang again after waiting until 2019 to get a proper shield I’m rioting.
Tumblr media
I simply hate him, your honor.
Anyway, Alexei reveals there’s a traitor in the Winter Guard who’s helping him, he then presses a button and blows up Crimson Dynamo. Darkstar appears like she might have gotten to Dmitri quick enough but I think the implication is that he’s dead or critically injured.
Tumblr media
Red Widow pursues Alexei and Yelena as they run to the plane, but Yelena incapacitates her. From the following panel I think that Red Widow and Yelena are going to become dedicated enemies moving forward.
Tumblr media
The issue ends with Yelena chiding Alexei for murdering or attempting to murder Crimson Dynamo. From what Alexei says, Operation Snowblind has something to do with the “enlightening of superheroes” which he describes as “rarely a painless process” therefore murder is justifiable, I guess?? It’s still not clear if the spy working with Alexei is Red Widow or someone else entirely.
Tumblr media
I didn’t mind this issue. Clearly it's attempting to tie in different themes from the film in order to pull in the movie’s audience, but I don’t hate it. What I’m getting more nervous of is another fucking villain arc for Alexei. They appear to be setting him up as a foil for Yelena: Modern Russia vs Soviet Ideals. I really hope this isn’t the case or if it is I hope he’s redeemed in a way that doesn’t involve another death.
The next issue is released September 29.

Tenuous At Best
Chapter 2: Breakout
Ordinarily, Ursa would have used the Force to pry off part of the wall panel in her cell and work on hot wiring the control panel. But the walls on this side were layered with concrete. She’d have to break that first and then pry off the panel, and there was nothing in her cell she could use to break the concrete.
“Perhaps one of the guards has a datapad we can swipe?” She suggested.
“Well they likely won’t be close enough to grab again like you did earlier.” Anaru responded, he had a point Ursa decided.
“Then we wait. They’ll have to come back at some point yeah?” Guff decided. The other two agreed. Ursa hated to be patient, but she was pretending to be a Jedi. So telling Guff to stick his patience up his backside wouldn’t be very Jedi-like. Besides, she figured she could be patient for this. As the other Jedi conversed, she fell into her own dark thoughts, imagining the horror she would inflict on her captors.
“URSA!” Anaru said loudly, Ursa jumping.
“Kriff what?!” She snapped back. What the hell was his problem!!
“We were just asking you which squad you were part of.” Guff clarified, his voice had a soothing quality. Ursa hated it.
“Oh…Uhm,” she racked her mind for the name of a squad or a Master she could use as a cover. She knew she couldn’t think too long on it or they might get suspicions.
“I served under Master Garex.” She said.
“Oh he’s a good one. A fair Commander. There was something reported about his squad recently, but my mind has blanked.” Guff said with a chuckle.
“Yeah heh, he’s a good leader.” Ursa replied.
Just then, the door opened again at the end of the corridor. Ursa heard two people talking, one man was the same as earlier. The other was different. Ursa flexed her hands, shaking her arms. She had no access to the Force, but she had her combat training. She looked at Guff across the hall, he made eye contact with her and then with Anaru in the cell next to her. A guard stepped in front of her door and prepared to open it.
“No, not that one.” His comrade, the same one from earlier, stopped him. “They want the Jedi we brought in with her.” He added. Ursa looked up at her door frame, there was a small ledge along the top of the door. She tested something, placing her fingers on the ledge. She could get a good grip there. There was a beep and she heard the door next to hers open.
“No funny business Jedi.”’one guard cautioned, Ursa got her first look at Anaru has he stepped into the hallway, hands raised. Then, moving like lightening, he smacked the button on her door panel and she was freed. Jumping up and grabbing the ledge, Ursa kicked the closer guard over into Guff’s door panel. She continued to hang from the ledge as she grabbed the second guard around the neck with her legs.
“Not again!” He whined, Guff disarming him and the other guard and retrieving a control fob. There was only one button. Guff pointed it at Ursa and pressed the button experimentally. It shocked her.
“Ouch!! What the kriff?!” She exclaimed. Anaru winced.
“Sorry.” The Rodian apologized, “how do we get these off?” He directed his question to the guard.
“The control room!” The man readily gave up. Ursa released him and kicked him into the wall with his unconscious comrade. Anaru gagged him with a piece of cloth he ripped from the man’s uniform and tossed them both into a cell, shutting the door behind them.
Dropping to the floor, Ursa walked towards the doors the guards had entered through.
“Ursa wait up!” Anaru called quietly.
“Oh yeah.” She muttered to herself, she was supposed to be with these guys. She paused, hearing the other two catch up. She stepped back and allowed Guff to open the door first. The two Jedi looked at her briefly, she certainly wasn’t dressed like they were. But perhaps they’ll just let it slide. She was dressed modestly anyways, and she had seen some Jedi dress in darker tones.
The door opened and the three stepped through it, meeting no resistance. The only attention they got was from one very surprised operator at the control center in the middle of the room.
“Hey, you shouldn’t be here!” She yelled.
“And yet here we are. What a conundrum.” Ursa replied sarcastically, stalking towards the young woman confidently. She looked around the room, spotting their weapons in a bin. She looked at Anaru and cocked her head towards the bin, the Jedi retrieving the weapons. The operator moved towards a sidearm secured under the desk, Ursa was quick and grabbed her wrist with one hand. She looped her other arm around the woman’s neck and held her back against her.
“Now, be a dear and remove these collars please.” She whispered into her ear.
“I can’t.” The woman replied.
“Can’t? Or won’t?” Ursa questioned, her grip tightening on the woman’s throat in a warning.
“Both! I don’t know how, and I wouldn’t do it if I did!” The woman was afraid, Ursa could hear it in the way her voice shook. But she looked defiant. Ursa hated defiance in species she was trying to intimidate. She pulled her grip tight, her arm cutting off the woman’s air. Ursa’s bored gaze fell on a display panel as she waited for the woman to either die or give in. The sounds of a woman choking and gasping for air seemed to have a disturbing effect on the Jedi, Anaru taking ahold of Ursa’s arm.
“That’s enough, we’ll figure it out without her help.” He said sternly, Ursa glared at the Jedi but noted the uneasy looks on the faces of her comrades and released the woman, letting her fall to the floor coughing.
Guff got to work looking through the controls and readouts on the control center, looking for the release command for their Force Dampeners.
Soon you won’t have to deal with these sensitive losers slowing you down, Ursa reminded herself. It was a comforting thought. Anaru fixed a suspicious look on her.
“Master Garex will hear about that.” He whispered to her. Ursa gave a smirk.
“Oh I’m sure.” She whispered in reply. Meanwhile Guff had located the correct file and with a victorious “ah ha!” he pressed a button on the panel top. The collars dropped to floor with three thuds, Ursa giving a relieved sigh. She called her double-bladed lightsaber to her from Anaru’s grip. The two Jedi seemed to relax as they felt the Force surround them once more. But their relaxation lasted just a moment, they both froze when they felt another sensation. The Dark Side. Guff and Anaru looked at Ursa with expressions of surprise and tiredness.
“Oh yeah, I lied.” Ursa answered their unasked question with a smirk and a shrug. She shoved both startled light siders back into the corridor. With a wave of her hand, the door slammed shut and Ursa shot the control panel out with the blaster from under the desk.
“That should keep them busy.” She muttered, stepping over the woman cowering on the floor. She dropped the blaster a couple feet from the woman.
“Here, use this on yourself or on them. Or both. I don’t care. Go crazy.” She said with a shrug. She then exited the room and sought out the masterminds of this place.

Daddy Issues™
emotionally scarring burn on left eye inflicted by a parent
Co-Presidents of the Shitty Dads Club
gorgeous, sweet, out of ur league

fire powers that they wouldn’t use/lost the ability to use for a while
hot (both literally and figuratively)
the favourites of their fandoms
Socially Awkward™
both have a sweet & kind friend who’s partly the reason they’re not angsty and emo anymore, everyone say thank you midoriya for giving us the todoroki we have today (give me platonic!zukaang/tododeku or give me death)
started out friendless and now they have like six bffs
‘farther is for physical distance, further is for metaphorical distance, and father is for emotional distance’
Pre-redemption arc Zuko (aka what-the-fuck-is-that-ponytail) as Bakugou Katsuki
Tumblr media
weird hair
Angery Bois™
im sorry they both look like really angry pomeranians i can’t take them seriously
‘you wanna go?! you wanna fuckin go?!’ tell me that isn’t the entirety of bakugou’s dialogue summed up in two sentences
‘let me see what you have’ ‘A KNIFE’ ‘NO’
torments the hell out of peace-loving main protagonist & hunts them down
both have had their lives saved (kinda? at least deku tried) by the main protagonist when they were still assholes
have father figures (kinda? does all might count?) who just want them to stop being fucking assholes and make the right decisions for once but do these dumbasses listen? no
have kidnapped someone/been the one who got kidnapped
100% would recommend anger management therapy. pls for the love of god sort out ur deep-rooted issues
repressed gays
zuko gets a pass bc of his emo tragic backstory but honestly baku was such a jerk to deku in szn 1 for literally no reason. fuck you bakugou
Azula as Dabi (aka Todoroki Touya, we all know it’s true at this point)
Tumblr media
yes i have a special place in my heart for villains with blue fire and tragic backstories, what about it
figuratively and literally hotter than their siblings (don’t @ me y’all know it’s true)
the ‘evil’ sibling one of whom was actually just misguided and whose redemption arc i’m still waiting for, but i’m not going to elaborate on that bc the way the atla writers handled azula just makes me mad & I’ll end up talking forever about it
fathers majorly fucked them up (ozai was abusive to azula, fight me)
kinda psycho
god if dabi really does turn out to be a todoroki and still doesn’t get a redemption arc i am suing. my heart cannot take this pain again
their most popular ships are both gay with a person who’s the complete opposite of them and have/will inevitably betray them in the end (tyzula, hot wings. manga readers know what i’m talking about but i don’t think dabi/hawks is too popular a ship with anime-only fans yet)
Ty Lee as Ashido Mina
Tumblr media
pink!!! pinkity pink pink
bubbly and fun, peppy attitudes
‘be gay do crimes’
actually incredibly dangerous and formidable even though they don’t really look like it (can you imagine fighting someone who can literally paralyze your entire body with a few punches? or shoot honest-to-god acid at you? we stan two (2) queens)
really flexible and good at sports (ty lee’s acrobatics, mina’s hip hop dancing)
both part of iconic squads (ozai’s angels, the bakusquad)
both their squads have a kinda mean leader (azula, bakugou)
don’t really take criticisms too harshly and always brush off mean comments by azula or bakugou with a smile
yeah i don’t really have a lot to say about them bc they don’t have a lot of screen time (we were robbed) but they’re cool
Mai as Aizawa-Sensei
Tumblr media
110% done with ur shit
Did Not Sign Up For This
the OG emos
*drives up to mcdonalds with ten kids in the backseat clamouring for fries, orders one (1) black coffee and leaves*

neither of them have bending/powers that are useful in combat so they’ve both learnt to be really good at fighting the traditional way, without bending or quirks
just let them sleep ffs
kinda hot when they’re fighting
dragged into dangerous situations by the main characters when they just want to mind their own business and take a nap
‘wake me up (wake me up inside)’
Uncle Iroh as All Might
Tumblr media
father figures
cheerful, jovial, always there to save the day
very powerful & strong
kinda old
both have antagonistic relationships with the ‘abusive fathers in power’ in each of their respective series
you probably can’t tell but i really don’t like iroh (even tho i adore all might) so it’s kind of hard to find good stuff to say about him, but i’m trying
give good advice that’s useless anyway bc the protagonists literally never follow it
both adopt a young boy who isn’t actually their kid but whom they have a closer relationship with than the boy’s actual dad has with the boy
train that young boy to become their successor
Fire Lord Ozai as Endeavour (aka human pieces of shit)
Tumblr media
FUUUUUUCCCCKKK YOOOUUUU

apologise to your fucking kids
why was end*avour given a redemption arc in the manga that’s just as bad as h*ggar getting that stupid fucking redemption arc in voltron, makes absolutely zero (0) sense

being indirectly/directly responsible for burns on their sons’ left eyes
hold on a sec i’ll be right back just give me a moment, i gotta go punt these dickheads into the mfing sun
if they were dying of hunger and i had a feast in front of me, i’d tell my servants to burn the leftovers

ME Profiles in Courage: Ashley M. Williams
Tumblr media
Biography
——————————————————————————
Early life
Born on April 14, 2158 on the Vercingetorix Outpost on the colony world Sirona in the 61 Ursae Majoris system, Ashley Williams comes from a large family that includes a long line of Alliance soldiers: her great-grandmother, grandfather, and father all served in the Alliance Navy. She is the oldest of four daughters, followed by Abby, Lynn, and Sarah.
Because of her father’s frequent deployments, Ashley and her family transferred from colony to colony at least half a dozen times before she finished grade school and grew up in a relatively stable life with her mother as her father was constantly on active duty while also helping to raise her sisters. As a result, the siblings grew close to one another. However, despite his hard work, her father never rose above the rank of Serviceman 3rd Class, a fact she is deeply bitter about.
Military career
"Takes a special kind of thickheaded to march into a job where your family's blacklisted. I did it anyway." ―Ashley Williams
Following family tradition, Ashley enlisted in the Alliance military as a marine after high school and was assigned to the Recruit Training Depot in Macapá, Brazil. During training, she certified proficient with the standard-issue M7 Lancer assault rifle and light and standard weight combat hardsuits. She completed certification in zero-gee combat aboard the Rakesh Sharma Orbital Platform in Earth geosynchronous orbit. For Hostile Environment Assault Training, she was assigned to Fort Charles Upham on Saturn's moon, Titan. She was awarded a commendation for her bold assault technique in a field exercise simulating an attack on turian point defense emplacements. Drill Instructor Gunnery Chief Ellison noted her steadfast endurance and aggressive instincts, and promoted her to the role of squad leader. After observing her effective tutelage of the less skilled members of her training unit, he promoted her to platoon guide. She maintains a friendly correspondence with Drill Instructor Gunnery Chief Ellison.
Determined to do her best as she was quite resentful about the very clear discrimination against her father despite his exemplary record, Ashley worked very hard, setting high scores in almost every drill she was part of, and leaving very little leeway for her instructors to be able to reprimand her for any slacking of any kind. She got certified for use of assault rifles, Zero-G combat and garnered many commendations throughout her training from various instructors. She tried multiple times to get transferred to shipside posts, but her requests were always denied for no explicit reason and she was always assigned to groundside garrison posts. Still, she did the best she could with every mission she was handed, no matter how much she believed she deserved better missions that would truly test her abilities as a soldier.
Chief Williams has served in a number of ground force garrisons on Alliance colony worlds and industrial outposts. She has repeatedly requested transfer to a shipboard posting, but each request has been denied without comment by her superiors. Every year since enlistment, she has used her mandatory week of leave to visit her family on Amaterasu. In 2181, she made an exceptional request for a week-long leave of absence from her posting at the Czarnobóg Fleet Depot, citing family issues.
Eden Prime War
——————————————————————————
Attack on Eden Prime
"Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams of the 212. You the one in charge here, sir?" "Are you wounded, Williams?" "A few scrapes and burns. Nothing serious. The other guys weren't so lucky." ―Ashley Williams and Commander Shepard
Two days before the attack on Eden Prime, Ashley was at a bar during shore leave with her fellow soldiers from Unit 212. Sergeant Donkey kept trying to seduce her to no avail, and Ash even joked about hooking up with Pennyloafer, a girl, instead. The horsing around was interrupted with the arrival of the unit’s commanding officer, who presented the soldiers with a rescue mission. A beacon was unearthed and the unit was assigned to defend it. Despite being a normal squad leader, Ashley wasn’t given command on the mission, with leadership duties being regulated to Sergeant Donkey. Ashley correctly interpreted the commanding officer’s prejudice regarding her heritage, and grudgingly accepted the situation.
Unlike the rest of the squads in Unit 212, Ashley’s 6-man team Dog Squad was ordered to go to the mission site on foot. During the long trek, Sergeant Donkey expressed his belief that Ashley should be the one leading the mission, praising her ability to keep a level head under pressure. Ashley observed that he was still trying to sleep with her and Donkey didn’t deny the assertion, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t being earnest. Ashley held out hope that maybe she and Donkey will get lucky one day, and continued the march ahead.
On the eve of the eve of the attack, Dog Squad discovered fellow 212 group Bravo Squad dead in a ditch. Ash was ordered to pair up with Bates to investigate, and noticed that the dead soldiers didn’t even have the chance to draw their weapons. Bates was distraught at the side of a dead soldier he once knew, and Ash put her hand on his shoulder to console him.
Intercepted transmissions later indicated that the other squads Able and Charlie were under attack from an unknown enemy. Because of the situation change and the need for a real leader, Sergeant Donkey relinquished leadership of Dog Squad to Ashley. Ashley then stirred up the group’s fighting spirit and encouraged them to double-time it to the dig site. Dog Squad surveyed the dig site at dawn, and surmised the enemy attackers were geth. They were unfortunately spotted by geth recon drones and fired upon. Ashley attempted to execute the squad’s battle plan: she sent Rasputin to an elevated position, gave Sergeant Donkey orders to create a diversion, and tried to set up an ambush herself.
Their flanking maneuver brought down some geth, but the squad began to take heavy casualties. Pennyloafer was dead and Ashley ordered Jenner to transmit a general warning, but the comm specialist was shot before long. Rasputin and Donkey went down before getting the chance to heed Ashley’s retreat call. Bates disappeared and didn’t respond to Ashley’s hails, leaving her alone to fend off the geth. She would not take defeat lying down, and successfully fought her way out of her surrounded position. She played cat and mouse with the geth until they found her again, and just when she was sure she was about to be shot dead she got lucky: Commander John Shepard and Staff Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko arrived to her rescue, where they managed to thwart a planned bombing of the colony.
Serving under Commander Shepard
"I have to admit, I was a little worried about being assigned to the Normandy. It's nice when someone makes you feel welcomed." ―Ashley Williams
As sole survivor of her unit and having demonstrated her combat abilities on Eden Prime, Captain David Anderson has Ashley transferred to the SSV Normandy SR-1. Initially, she was uncomfortable about filling a dead man's shoes after the loss of Corporal Richard Jenkins, and blamed herself for not being more alert during the geth attack. Over time, Ashley became more accustomed to the crew, even getting along well with Kaidan.
She was later approached on the Citadel by an Alliance psychologist named Captain Channing a day after the geth attack, who coaxed her to talk about the events on Eden Prime. Initially wary of the psychologist, Ashley warmed up a little when the introspective moment allowed her to think about what Donkey once said: "luck is for the lonely."
While off duty, Ashley spends her time in the Normandy's storage section, cleaning rifles. Upon interaction, she gives feedback on recent missions, or the latest shipboard gossip before anyone else. Ashley seemed interested in Shepard’s background. She is amazed that both she and Shepard went to the same training facility and even reminisces about getting yelled at by Gunnery Chief Ellison. Later, she revealed that her grandfather was General Williams, who surrendered the garrison at Shanxi to the turians during the First Contact War, thus becoming the first human to surrender to an alien force. Her superiors’ prejudice against her family meant she had mostly been stuck on groundside garrison posts – preventing her from gaining actual combat experience – despite her exemplary technical scores. Possibly due to the discrimination she experienced, Ashley asserts that a Williams has to be better than the best, to make up for Shanxi, making her dedicated to her job, but also prickly, blunt and quick-tempered.
Ashley has strong religious beliefs but is hesitant to discuss it with Shepard because she's concerned of the uneasiness it may cause in others. Her faith is strengthened by her work in space — "How can you look out at this galaxy and not believe in something?" — and she believes that her father who had passed away is with God. She still remembers his favorite poem, Tennyson's "Ulysses", by heart. When Shepard jokingly states that Ashley is the last person the Commander would expect to hear quoting classical literature, Ashley indignantly replies "just because I can drill you between the eyes from a hundred meters, doesn't mean I can't like sensitive stuff! But don't spread it around." Though she is tough and aggressive, Ashley has displayed a compassionate side; when meeting Samesh Bhatia she is very respectful and sympathetic, taking the time to say how much his late wife Serviceman Nirali loved him.
Due to her family history, groundside assignments, and lack of experience in working with other races, she tends to be distrustful of aliens. Ashley doesn't trust the Citadel Council and believes humanity can't rely on them staying allies. She questions the wisdom of allowing Urdnot Wrex and Garrus Vakarian to wander around freely, and dismisses the Prothean Cipher as "some asari mumbo jumbo", believing the Commander has suffered needlessly to get it. However, Ashley acknowledges that Shepard is in command and the presence of aliens on the Normandy is not her decision. That being said, Ashley isn't xenophobic. She dismisses the Terra Firma political party as a group of xenophobic "jackals" who have replaced the original noble aims of the party with anti-alien paranoia. Even though she will not hesitate to shoot Wrex if she believes he presents a threat to Shepard on Virmire, she happily volunteers to go with Captain Kirrahe's team and works well with the salarians, respecting their tenacity and skill.
At the operation on Vimire, Shepard saves Ashley’s life, but at the cost of losing Kaidan. During the debriefing, Ashley is angry at Shepard’s decision, saying Kaidan was a superior officer and she should have been the one left behind. However, Shepard responds by asking how far Ashley is willing to go in order to clear her grandfather’s name, quickly silencing her.
In a later banter, Ashley admits that she does have qualms about facing the Reapers, claiming she’s infantry and will have no place in the upcoming battles but Shepard assures her that she’s needed. Eventually she comes to her senses and agrees to work with the Normandy’s multi-species crew to stop Saren Arterius, even becoming good friends with Dr. Liara T'Soni, Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, and even Garrus and Wrex. The 'aliens' of the Normandy crew became good friends. She became very close to Shepard and fell in love with him, looking up to him for guidance in many issues and believed herself quite lucky to have met a man like him.
When the Normandy is grounded by the Council, Ashley persuades Shepard not to give in and the two nearly share a kiss before being interrupted by Joker. En route to Ilos, Ashley comes to Shepard's quarters, saying that, after a long career of being sidelined by the Alliance, he helps her to feel "good enough", and the two spend the night together. She continues to tease Shepard; claiming to have something important to tell him, but if he wants to hear it, he'll have to survive Ilos and come back to her first.
Collector Crisis
——————————————————————————
"I wanted to believe that you were alive… I just never expected anything like this. How could you just turn your back on all of us? You betrayed the Alliance, you betrayed Anderson! You betrayed me!" "Ash, you know me. You know I'd only do this for the right reasons. You saw it yourself. The Collectors are targeting human colonies. And they're working with the Reapers!" "I'd like to believe you, Shepard. But I don't trust Cerberus. And it worries me that you do. What did they do to you? What if they're behind it? What if they're the ones working with the Collectors." ―Ashley Williams and Commander Shepard
Williams continued to serve under Shepard aboard the Normandy. During a routine patrol, however, the ship came under attack from a vessel belonging to the enigmatic Collectors and Shepard ordered her to evacuate with the rest of the crew. Though she and the majority of the crew managed to escape, the ship was destroyed, with Shepard killed after being blown into space. Her feelings towards Shepard made his death during the Terminus mission a painful blow. Ash initially refused to believe that Shepard died; she only truly began to realize it during the funeral held for him on the Citadel without his body being found. In private, Ash broke down in tears and mourned the loss of her commanding officer and the love of her life. Shepard’s death had impacted her greatly afterwards. She ended up throwing herself full force into her work and remained in the service of the Systems Alliance military for the next two years and was promoted to Operations Chief, all the while attempting to move on with her life.
At some point, Ashley was assigned to the Alliance Marine Reconnaissance Unit's Hunter Platoon, deployed during the closing operating stages of Task Force Justice. Hunter Platoon was assigned to covert surveillance and reconnaissance following the mysterious disappearances of several human colonies under the auspices of a colonial outreach program program operated by Alliance Intelligence.
After a string of Alliance colonies had been abducted, it was believed that Cerberus was involved in these actions. Ashley was even informed of reports indicating that Shepard was alive and working for Cerberus. Thus, she was dispatched to the colony of Horizon in order to update its defenses to prepare it for an expected Cerberus assault. However, that proved not to be the case as the planet suffered an onslaught from the Collectors while the defense grid was still non-operational. During the assault, Ashley is attacked and paralyzed by a seeker swarm, but is found after the Collectors leave Horizon.
The meeting was intense to say the least, and Ash was reduced to a yelling, illogical mess as she tried to deal with the shocks that kept coming one after the other as he spoke to her. When she noticed that Garrus was with Shepard, Ashley expressed her surprise that he is working with Cerberus and Garrus attempts to reason with Ashley claiming her feelings towards Cerberus are blinding her to see the truth behind the attacks. Eventually, she left, needing space and time to process all that she's learned, only to regret it a mere few days later. She sent him an email to apologize for her behavior; it wasn't much, but it was the best she could do given the circumstances.
Upon returning to Hunter Platoon, the team was recalled to take part in Operation: Gorgon somewhere within the Terminus Systems, with only four marines killed in action. Ashley assumed temporary command of the unit and was soon awarded the Silver Star for her bravery.
The Reaper Invasion
——————————————————————————
Fall of Earth
"They're gonna take out that dreadnaught! Evasive maneuvers!" ―Ashley Williams, during the Reapers' invasion of Earth
Ashley once again threw herself back in her work, as she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and prayed for Shepard's safe return whenever she could spare the time. A few months had passed until she managed to hear news of him again, during very hard times: Shepard had blown up an entire star system by ramming an asteroid full force into a mass relay. The first and only time she managed to see Shepard was when he was brought back to Earth, by the time she was asked by a committee of Alliance military leaders to testify about her experience with the Reapers.
Admirals Anderson and Hackett both assured her that they pulled every string possible to not get Shepard thrown in prison for the rest of his life, especially with the alarming reports he had about the Reapers. Shepard was stripped of his rank and his ship in the Alliance HQ based at Vancouver, while Anderson was out there trying his best to get the committee to listen to his and Shepard’s warnings and Ashley did her best to support Anderson anyway she could.
When the Reapers invaded Earth, Ashley and Lieutenant James Vega assists in evacuating Shepard from Earth on-board the Normandy SR-2 while Anderson remains behind to lead the resistance movement.
Mars Archives
She then joins Shepard on a mission to recover Prothean data on Mars, where humanity first discovered mass effect technology. Upon arrival, Shepard, James and Ashley take the shuttle down to the planet, receiving a warning from EDI that the base is not responding. They soon discover the reason why upon witnessing Cerberus soldiers executing surviving Alliance personnel; the group fights their way through the enemy, inferring from the small size of the Cerberus force that they must have had help from the inside. Ashley expressed her surprise that Shepard was unaware of this, given his past association with Cerberus, and is unwilling to believe he cut ties with the extremist organization following his defeat of the Collectors, much to Shepard’s frustration.
After entering the station and arriving in time to witness Liara biotically overpower and execute her pursuers, Liara explains why Hackett sent them to find her; she has found in the Archives blueprints for a Prothean device that might allow them to turn the tide against the Reapers. Unfortunately, Cerberus has learned of it too, and now they must hurry to recover the necessary information before Cerberus can. After sending James back to the shuttle to secure their escape route and prevent Cerberus from doing so, Shepard, Ashley and Liara fight their way through the station to the main Archive, discovering along the way the identity of the traitor in the station: Dr. Eva Coré, supposedly a recently arrived researcher, but in truth a mole who sabotaged the station's defenses to allow Cerberus entry. The group then encounters Dr. Coré, who had been trying to upload information on the Prothean device, but her upload is interrupted by the squad and she tries to flee.
Although Coré is able to reach a Cerberus shuttle, James disables it with a kamikaze attack before it can escape, having also alerted the Normandy to extract the squad. Coré, revealed to be an android by the explosion, emerges from the wreckage and attacks. Near the end of the mission, after chasing down Dr. Eva, Ashley is critically injured after the Illusive Man orders Dr. Eva to "finish her." After disabling Dr. Eva, Shepard carries an unconscious Ashley back onto the Normandy just as Reaper forces begin landing on Mars.
Second human Spectre
"I'd like an answer, Lieutenant Commander. The galaxy has need of exceptional soldiers like you, now more than ever." "I still need time. You'll have my answer soon, I promise." "I look forward to it." ―Citadel Councilor Donnel Udina and Ashley Williams, about being a Spectre candidate
Upon their arrival at the Citadel, Ashley was rushed to Huerta Memorial Hospital on the Presidium of the Citadel for medical treatment, where she slowly recuperates.
While recovering, Councilor Donnel Udina offers her Spectre status. After his missions, Shepard was able to speak to Ashley in the hospital. Although she admits that her doubts about him are still present, Ashley promises to work with him. She tells Shepard about the hard times her sister Sarah is going through as her husband, being a marine was called back in action. When Shepard asks her about her promotion to Lieutenant Commander, she remarks the old "Williams curse" must be losing its grip, to which Shepard replies that she'd earned it. In time Ashley recovers from her injury and accepts Udina's offer.
She spends more time with Shepard on Huerta Memorial regarding her new position, with the conversation shifting to her family. Ashley reveals that her family made it onto the Citadel and goes into further detail, saying that her sister’s husband Thomas who was a Second Lieutenant stationed on Demeter was killed in action, and that Sarah wants to at least say some words at the Lieutenant’s memorial service.
Cerberus coup attempt
"Damn it! Cerberus hit the shuttle! Everyone back to the elevator!" ―Ashley Williams
When Cerberus invades the Citadel, Ashley is discharged from the hospital and is tasked to protect the Council but is unaware that Udina is working with Cerberus to take control of the Citadel. Despite Kai Leng's best efforts to slow down and stop his pursuit, Shepard reaches the Council ahead of him at a shuttle pad, locking the exits to prevent Cerberus troopers from attacking and a tense standoff ensues, with Ashley standing in his way. Shepard reveals Udina's treachery and while he attempts to deny it, the rest of the Council, after all the times they didn't listen to Shepard, began to believe him. This puts Shepard and Ashley in a conflict.
When Udina tried to override the lockdown, Shepard succeeds in talking Ashley down and she instead turns her gun on Udina and orders him to stand down. Left with a few options, Udina began to override the lock on the door. Councilor Tevos tries to stop him, but he pushes her to the ground and pulls a gun on her. Shepard was ultimately forced to kill Udina. With Udina dead and their plan thwarted, Leng and the remaining Cerberus forces fled, while C-Sec began securing the station.
As Shepard is about return to the Normandy, Ashley meets him by the docks, where she reflects on how they both almost killed each other doing what they believed to be right. She mentions that she was offered a place on Admiral Hackett's team but that if she has any choice in the matter she would rather be on the Normandy. Shepard allows her back into his squad onboard the Normandy and Ashley takes up residence on the Starboard Observation Deck, the quarters formerly occupied by Samara.
Onward battles
"Hackett asked me to join his team. It's a great offer, but... I prefer to ride this thing out aboard the Normandy." ―Ashley Williams to John Shepard
After the turian platoon’s rescue on Tuchanka, she sympathizes with the primarch’s son, Lieutenant Tarquin Victus, knowing that it’s never easy losing people in one’s unit. After the bomb’s defusal on the same planet, she expresses that it was a "damn shame it went the way it did." She stands by the Memorial Wall to pay her respects to Kaidan. Shepard tells her to put in a good word for them.
When the team bugs out of Utukku alive, Ashley complains that she’s still got slime to clean off her armor. She is distrustful of the deal Shepard brokered with the Rachni Queen they previously saved on Noveria three years earlier and comments on Grunt, remarking about his "badassery" after he walked out alive.
Upon completing the evacuation on Gellix, Ashley says she hopes a bunch of ex-Cerberus can be trusted. She’s also just glad that Jacob turned out alright, though she does note that scooping those scientists from under the Illusive Man’s nose is bound to piss the guy off, and that things could’ve turned out worse with civilians and children in the mix.
After blowing up the monastery on Lessus, Ashley remarks that banshees aren’t a side of the asari she wants to see, and acknowledges Shepard’s knack for making "unusual" friends after encountering Samara. She also says she wants to read Sarah’s old letters again due to the events that took place on the planet.
Battle for Rannoch
When it is revealed that the geth and quarians are now at war with each other, Ashley expresses her lingering resentment towards the geth after the destruction of the sabotaged geth dreadnought over Rannoch. She sighs in frustration and disbelief that even after all these years she is still fighting the synthetics. Humorously, Ashley says that the destruction of the geth ship leads to a 1-0 lead of humanity versus the "blinky flashlights". After the rescue attempt on Admiral Zaal'Koris vas Qwib-Qwib, she approves of Shepard strafing the geth from the shuttle. Due to saving Koris, it got her thinking about the value of a good leader, on how many lives should be sacrificed to protect a truly inspired one, and hopes she never has to find out.
In one amusing interlude after Shepard’s trip to the Geth Consensus, Shepard found a drunk Ashley lying wasted on the floor with a hangover. She reveals she spent the previous night trying to "get her mind off stuff" by drinking an entire bottle of unspecified liquor with James. As the other human Spectre lies mewling on the cold starboard floor Shepard responds to this with playful banter, much to Ashley’s annoyance.
After the Geth-Quarian War’s conclusion, Ashley exclaims that she is impressed on the feat Shepard did after he managed to make peace between the quarians and the geth. She also expresses skepticism on how long the peace will last.
Rekindling an old flame
"We had something before. A long time ago. Something important. You've seen me at my worst. Totally embarrassing. You were there for me when my baby sister was suffering. I've... held a gun on you, Shepard. I'm just saying... We've been through a lot. I have to know: are we... going somewhere?" "I want more, Ash. I can't see myself with anyone else." "That's good. I'd hate to have to punch out which table-dancing tart is throwing herself at you this time." ―Ashley Williams and Commander Shepard
During one the downtimes after missions, Ashley sends an email to Shepard stating that the preparations for Sarah’s husband’s memorial service are complete. It takes place on the Refugee Docks’ Memorial Wall, and she is going to comfort her younger sister but doesn’t want to do it alone. Shepard visits the sisters there in one of the next trips to the Citadel and is comforting and respectful to Ashley, cementing the relationship further. Ashley compares her sister's demeanor to their father's during the memorial: all smiles regardless of stress and delves further into memories of her father before joining Sarah in shared remembrance.
Later on, she sends another email asking Shepard to meet her on the Citadel. Ashley tells him how her dad would have liked Shepard. She apologizes for all that has happened between them and asks if they are "going somewhere". When Shepard reciprocates, they share a kiss together and rekindle their romance.
Chasing down Cerberus
After the disastrous mission on Thessia, Ashley sympathizes with Liara’s grief and tells Shepard she will talk to Liara to ease her suffering.
During the mission to Sanctuary on the colony of Horizon, Ashley is horrified by what the squad found in the ruins, stating that she can’t get it out of her head. Just when she thought she’s heard of everything, she notes how the plan to lure in refugees was so cold and calculating that she can’t understand it. She is glad that she can’t, as it’s what helps retain her humanity and wonders aloud about what the galaxy’s refugees will do now.
Foiling an assassination plot
At some point, Ashley tags along with the rest of Shepard’s gang in trying to determine the mastermind behind the latest attempt on the Commander’s life. Liara figured out that they have a lead tracing the M-11 Suppressor Shepard stole from one of the assailants, a weapons dealer named Elijah Khan who happens to run a public events on his Silver Coast Casino. Shepard brings Ash along in the plan to get answers from the man, and the second human Spectre dons a tight blue evening dress for the occasion. She’s also part of Team Mako with Liara and Maya Brooks during an all-out assault on the Citadel Archives.
Shore leave
When Shepard’s botched shore leave is settled and real opportunities for Citadel R&R arise, Ashley requests a meeting with Shepard at the Silver Coast Casino's upper bar, where she challenges the Commander to a drinking contest to prove who is a "real Spectre" and who's just pretending to be one. Shepard matches her shot-for-shot, but the two have their evening interrupted by a batarian and a vorcha, with the former persistently poking Shepard and proclaiming their dislike for "Alliance types". Shepard quips "rain check" to Ash, and the two "Alliance types" proceed to beat up the aggressors.
At the first phase of Shepard’s big party, Ashley sits with James by the ground floor couches, teasing Steve Cortez. At the party’s second phase, Ashley is encouraged by James to support him in his argument for physical training over biotics. When everyone was invited to dance at the last leg of the party, Ashley hangs out on the balcony watching Liara floating James around. With the mood settling down to a relaxed phase, she sits with Steve, Joker, and most of Shepard’s acquaintances in the upper floor couches. Wrex recounts the time on Virmire when he was ready to kill for the genophage cure. He asks Ashley if she would’ve killed him back then. Ash says so without hesitation if he left her no choice, and Wrex announces that he respects her for that. Next morning, Shepard and Ashley awake in his bed and kiss each other good morning before rising. She later stands around by the central island counter in the kitchen, anticipating Vega’s eggs.
Assault on Cronos Station
Just before the assault on the Cerberus headquarters, Ashley visits the Captain’s Quarters and tries to comfort Shepard about all the people they’ve lost. She expresses how she felt lost herself and that it broke her heart when Shepard was dead. At long last, they admit their love for each other, then kiss and spend the night together.
After the raid on Cronos Station, Ashley comments on the demise of Cerberus, stating that she was glad that it was Shepard who shut them down, adding that it felt right. She never thought that she would see the end of Cerberus, adding "Good riddance."
Battle for Earth
Ashley and Shepard spoke to each other for what seemed to be the last time during the final assault on Earth, loitering near a couple of soldiers and a structure housing the London FOB’s holographic communications terminal. Restless when Shepard inquires how she’s holding up, she asks back if they have a chance, and the Commander assures her there’s always hope as it got them so far. She praises Shepard as the reason all of them got to where they are now, and Shepard answers that Ash and other people like her picked the Commander up when he stumbled, Ash quips back that "hero-man" saved her almost as many times as she saved him. She feels it’s been a thousand years since Eden Prime, finding it hard to figure out how they got to their current situation. Ash was always a survivor, and Shepard compliments her as such, though she doesn’t really believe it until Shepard adds that she’s also a Spectre and a fine soldier. He then recites from one of Tennyson’s poems "The Charge of the Light Brigade", a reference to how poetry has been used to convey their feelings throughout their relationship. Fearful, Ashley grabs Shepard and tells him she doesn’t want him to go and that she loves him. He gently replies that he loves her too and says "let’s get it done, and go home". In a breaking voice, Ashley responds "aye aye Captain."
Ashley is among the squadmates Shepard brings with him during the final push towards the Conduit, but is badly wounded by Harbinger and evacuated to the Normandy. After tending to her wounds onboard, the crew noticed the Crucible firing a red beam of energy that destroys the Reapers on as well as around Earth and transmits this energy to every relay in the mass relay network through the Charon Relay before damaging them and the Citadel as well. Admiral Hackett notices the Crucible activate and orders the fleet to disengage and rendezvous outside of the blast zone. Joker hesitates until the last possible second, desperate to save Shepard, but is convinced by Ashley to fly the Normandy to safety before getting caught in the blast wave. However, he leaves too late; the Normandy jumps to FTL speeds but is caught by the energy released from the Crucible and crash-lands in a jungle on an unidentified world.
Much later, Ashley is among the mourners paying their respects to the fallen at the Normandy’s memorial wall, but refrains from placing Shepard’s plaque on the wall, smiling with hope as the Normandy flies off.
A New Era
——————————————————————————
Peacetime
With the activation of the Crucible, the Reapers (along with the majority of synthetic life) were destroyed and the war finally came to a pyrrhic end. Wondering what their next plan of action was, Ashley ordered Joker and the Normandy crew to return to Earth to find and recover Shepard’s body among the wreckage.
Upon hearing the news that Shepard survived the Crucible’s blast, Ashley breathed a sigh of relief and promised herself that she would never leave Shepard’s side until he fully recovered. She attended his ceremony when he was declared a hero to all races of the galaxy and was showered with medals and honors from all species. However, after Shepard was released from the hospital, he informed his squadmates of his decision to leave the Alliance military, greatly surprising them. Ashley tries to convince Shepard to change his mind, but when it was clear that Shepard wouldn’t, she sadly relented and watched him walk away, disappearing from the public eye for some time.
For her part in playing a role in helping to defeat the Reapers, Ashley was promoted to the rank of Captain and was assigned as the new commanding officer of the Normandy.
Motherhood
"Skipper, I'm pregnant." ―Ashley Williams to John Shepard
Sometime after the signing of the Citadel-Guevara Accord, Ashley and Shepard decided to get married. They invited all their friends from across the galaxy and Ash’s family as well. Before the wedding ceremony started, Ashley looked up at the clear sky and thought about her father and grandfather. She then noticed that Shepard was sitting solemnly across from her and approached him, asking what was troubling him when Shepard met her gaze. He dismissed it as nothing serious and promised to tell her afterwards. Together, they had four children: Kaidan, David, Ethan and Carolyn, to which the parents were shown to have a very happy and loving family of their own.
First Lady of the Interstellar Republic
On March 15, 2198, Ashley attended her husband's inauguration as First Minister along with their children and officially became known as "First Lady of the Republic."
During her early weeks, Ashley tried carefully to guard her family's privacy. Regardless, she was an unprecedentedly outspoken First Lady and was involved in a number of issues concerning children and veterans; participating as a guest speaker on a number of occasions, often advocating for the promotion of volunteerism at local hospitals, civic organizations, and rehabilitation centers. One of Ashley's major initiatives included expanding early childhood education and veterans' access to affordable care.
Personality and traits
——————————————————————————
"Why is it that whenever someone says "with all due respect" they really mean "kiss my ass"?" ―Ashley Williams
Ashley is a tough, tomboyish woman known for being strong-willed, stubborn and rebellious. She is not afraid to speak her mind and often displays a no-nonsense attitude. Because of this, Ashley tends to come off as opinionated, brash, and quick-tempered; regardless, she keeps a level-headed demeanor in the presence of superior officers and is a highly disciplined model soldier.
Despite her prickly and aggressive nature, Ash does have a softer, playful, more compassionate side and is a generally nurturing and protective person. She cares deeply about her family name, ever since she was a child she wanted to honor her father and grandfather by carrying over the tradition by joining the Alliance military to uphold her family's legacy. Surprisingly, Ashley also likes poetry and states that she is not "one for words", using her interest in poetry to help say what she feels.
Ashley at first does not seem to trust aliens as Earth's allies and believes that humanity should trust their own. Because of this, she tends to play the cynic role, naturally distrusting politicians and their compromises. After her mission with Commander Shepard during the Eden Prime War, however, this changed quite drastically for her, as both he and the mission helped her see a side she’s never seen before and became good friends with Garrus Vakarian, Liara T’Soni, Urdnot Wrex and Tali’Zorah.
When she began serving alongside Shepard, Ashley developed at first a growing admiration and came to like him. Overtime, the more she opened up to him, her admiration eventually turned to love. A small way in which she showed Shepard her affection for him was through the playful nickname which she constantly called him—"Skipper."
She is a Christian and strongly religious about it, which by 2183 is considered a rarity.
When she married Shepard, Ashley slowly matured and grew accustomed to her new role as a wife in stride. She also expressed worry about Shepard’s well-being and grew suspicious of his strange behavior, which often escalates into heated arguments. Despite this, however, it cannot be disputed that she loves her husband very much and is dutiful to him. The same love and compassion Ashley showed to Shepard also manifested when they started their own family.
As a mother, Ashley retains most of her personality traits though she loves and is caring towards her children but would be stern and strict when she needs to be. Ashley has deep pride in her children's successes and didn’t hesitate to loudly cheer for Kaidan from the audience during his school’s biotiball tournaments when his team won, even though she embarrassed him. She is also fiercely protective of them, though she was often depicted as somewhat overprotective, as she personally defended them during a terrorist attack on the Citadel and is subsequently hospitalized. Although she has hoped that one day her children would volunteer for the Alliance as she had, Ashley is visibly disappointed when they all refused. Nonetheless, Ashley apparently grows more accepting of their decisions and that they mean well.
However, as a result of having taken up huge responsibilities in the Alliance military, it has strained her relationship with her children and made them particularly upset. Although Kaidan, David, Ethan and Carolyn loved their mother and were overjoyed when they spend time together, Ashley's frequent absences made them feel neglected and resentful towards the Williams family tradition. Despite not returning home while on active duty as often as she used to, Ashley actually tries her best to make time for them in person and to help them with their problems whenever she could. Eventually, after Balak's attack on the Citadel, Ashley's relationship with her children improved significantly to the point where her schedule was lessened and was able to spend more time at home.
Appearance
——————————————————————————
Ashley has dark chocolate brown hair, brown eyes, and a tan skin color. Used to wearing combat armor, she sports a stockier and very athletic build, gained from her specialization in assault training. Her shoulders are slightly broader than that of most females, though she still retains some semblance of a feminine curvaceous and slender figure. She is also quite well-endowed, though she finds her sisters managed to get away with most of the assets in that area. Ashley’s hair reaches just past her shoulders, with long bangs that are usually pinned back. Like many humans in the 22nd century, Ashley is of mixed ethnicities – perhaps something like half Midwestern American of distant English descent, with the rest split between Latina heritages and Mediterranean ancestries.
As a soldier, Ashley initially wore medium Phoenix Armor with white armor clads, pink garments and kept her hair tied back in a low bun. During the Reaper invasion, Ashley donned a new blue jumpsuit and an Alliance-issued battle armor and lets her hair down. Her figure has also grown to become much more womanly. During her date with Shepard, she wore a tight blue evening dress and is seen wearing the Williams family heirloom around her neck.
When she and Shepard decided to get married, Ashley wore a simple long white wedding dress with a veil pulled back, her long hair had been done up, and she had been wearing lipstick. In the years following the Reaper invasion, she consistently wears a violet, collared short-sleeved shirt unbuttoned with a white V-neck tank top underneath, black leather belt, navy blue dress pants, and light brown high heel boots. In addition, Ashley began donning a necklace consisting of three rubies and maintains her wedding ring on her left hand.
Skills and abilities
——————————————————————————
Abilities
Expert markswoman: Being a weapons specialist she’s fully qualified and physically fit for light-to-medium armor, and is a superior marksman. Her aim is very accurate, and more importantly she’s just as good in the field and under pressure than at the shooting range.
Genetic enhancements: As a Systems Alliance marine, Ashley received various minor genetic enhancements to increase her health, endurance, ability to develop muscle mass, power of recovery and other desirable characteristics.
Leadership: Her comrades of Unit 212 described her as the most authoritative of her whole platoon, and she is a capable, collected and authoritative non-commissioned officer. She’s also good at coaching soldiers to develop their military skills, which she credits to having partially raised her three younger sisters. Secondary sources indicate that she has a B4 military qualification, with no indication as to what it means.
Peak human conditioning: Ashley has a strong background in assault training and fitness. She is a formidable marine – an aggressive fighter, a competent weapons maintenance technician, and accurate soldier.
Weaknesses
Human vulnerabilities: One of Ashley's greatest weakness is that she is quite vulnerable to the physical attacks of stronger and more powerful opponents. Ashley, however, usually compensates for for this quite well with her fierce determination and combat training.

‘Traitor’s Face’ Planning Doc 4
Outline for Act 2, developed after Act 1 was completed.
UPDATED: A reference to a major event in Act 5, originally REDACTED, has been restored.
PLOTLINES
GAANG Aang is trying to find a way to do something about the state of the world. There's no war to win, and he doesn't think simply assassinating the Fire Lord will help, because the Fire Nation will still be in control. He focuses on learning Waterbending and solving the Spirit problems, and slowly reconciles with Mai.
Mai is in the dumps after all the junk. She doesn't want to think of herself as a bad person, so she's focusing on fixing the world and the Fire Nation. Katara gets her to see that she's truly fond of Aang and Sokka, and so becomes more human. Also, Mai eventually learns how to use a sword, since she's running low on both knives and money. She also starts dressing in crummy clothes that aren't red. Her hands shake due to stress.
Sokka is happy that he has his sister back, but can't understand that he's putting too much pressure on her when she starts suffering from panic attacks and needs mental healing. After she stays at the Healing House, Sokka has to get over the disappointment. He also slowly reconciles with Mai.
Katara helps heal the rift between Mai and the others, but slowly succumbs to stress and panic attacks at journeying a world after being locked in a room for a decade. http://www.webmd.com/anxiety-panic/guide/panic-attack-symptoms
TEAM FIRE Zuko realizes that he lost Mai's loyalty, and has to come to understand that it was partially his own fault that she was driven away. He tracks Aang using the Air Nomad staff, and gets to know Suki during the hunt. He also discovers that Zhao is working for Iroh, and stumbles across the Platinum initiative and the fact that shipments are being stolen.
Azula is still loyal to her 'father' and still working to get Zuko back home as per orders. She is suspicious of Suki but sees an opportunity to uncover more about Zhao's crimes.
Suki makes a deal to get her sister out of harm's way, but also doesn't want to hurt Aang or Sokka. She is scandalized by the news that Mai was a traitor, and more ambiguous when she finds out that Mai is a double-traitor. Suki slowly falls in love with Zuko.
JET (BLUE SPIRITS) Jet lost everything to the Fire Nation, and wants to hurt them as much as possible. This could possibly go in a self-destructive direction, but friendships and opportunity have mitigated that for now. He was recruited by Iroh's agents as a Blue Spirit, thinking that he's acting as a rebel against the Fire Nation. He was under orders to kill Mai and do whatever he could to get Aang to his bosses, which led to the events on The Tub.
Jet has now lost another friend- making him angry- but still has his mission. Maybe he's a bit more self-destructive now. He's also Azula's prisoner, and all she knows is that he was defending the Water Tribe prisoners.
Azula interrogated Jet, but he was trained that saying almost anything could be a giveaway, so he kept his mouth shut. That's given him time. When Zuko gets back, he finds out that Zuko and Azula are hunting the Avatar, and figures that he could complete his mission by getting back to Aang and also shielding him from the Fire sibs. So Jet spins a story about being recruited by Mai, or being a plant to watch Mai, or something, and offers to help. Azula wants Mai badly, so she accepts Jet, but she doesn't trust him. Perhaps Azula keeps Suki around as a piece to use against Jet.
SETTING ELEMENTS
Covert Fire Nation squads armed with platinum weapons are attacking spirit problems as Ghostbusters in classified missions, but there are too few supplies to handle all the spirit problems.
Long Feng and the Dai Li survived the destruction of Ba Sing Se and are acting as Ghostbusters as well, using ancient rituals and charms. They use the money and goodwill they earn to maintain a vast underground library/museum of Ba Sing Se's culture.
There is a Neo Air Nomad movement that includes some real Airbenders. They, too, are working on the Spirit problem, but they're more focused on healing people than fighting ghosts. Ty Lee is an acolyte who is seen as having potential, but has not been able to Airbend yet.
There is an Earth Kingdom rebellion helped by the White Lotus (with Iroh's full knowledge). The rebellion is helping hidden villages such as Tyro and Haru's, and undermining Fire Nation efforts with small raids and harassment. The remnants of various EK militarys make up a good portion of it, but the leader is a mysterious "Seer" who supposedly knows things far beyond human ken. In truth, the Seer is Toph, who uses her Earth Sense to make people think she's magic and applies her Wait'n'Listen approach to building up slowly towards fighting back against the Fire Nation again. (Toph was separated from her parents when Gaoling was burned down, but she holds out hope that they're alive, even if she can't find them.)
Spirit Matters: Things are getting worse. The Fire Nation has platinum and is desperate to find a way to use it to solve the spirit problems plaguing their colonies, but for now they only have enough to make spears and swords and some light armor for a few ghostbuster units. The Dai Li don't know anything about platinum, yet, but they know the Fire Nation is doing something to fight spirits, and are generally staying out of their way while they do their own ghostbusting for money and self-preservation (limited to a single area). Iroh wants the platinum for his own goals, but in the meantime he sees hope that he may not need it if the Avatar can save Lu Ten. Meanwhile, Azulon sees no worthy heir to take over when he dies, so he's looking into ways to steal other people's life force to lengthen his own lifes, and is eyeing the Avatar.
MOTIVATIONS
Zuko: Wants to go home Azula: Wants Ozai to be Fire Lord Suki: Wants to get her sister out of the Fire Military and to safety Ozai/Ursa: Wants to get Zuko home and take over the Fire Nation to "fix" it
Suki throws in with Zuko and Azula in exchange for promise to help her sister. Zuko and Azula need to capture the Avatar, can use Aang's staff to track them with June.
They don't know where the Avatar is headed
They're aware Mai is a turncoat, and so the Avatar is probably a step ahead of them.
Suki's info about the gAang is spotty, since she only knew them for a month
Perhaps Azula plans to use Suki as a hostage?
Or is she a bodyguard for Zuko? There's an interesting idea. But would Azula trust that?
Or is she evidence of some kind against Zhao?
Technically, Suki is a wanted murderer, thanks to Zhao. She also knows he killed Yon Rha.
Zhao is left disgraced with no leads and unsubstantiated slander against Zuko
He's approached by Jeong-Jeong to throw in with Iroh
His task is to hunt the Avatar and deliver him to Iroh
Zhao gets to be a task force outside the chain of command and rampage across EK
He knows the Avatar is looking for the Seer, thanks to a tipoff from Iroh
Iroh also knows where the Seer is, thanks to his White Lotus contacts, and gives Zhao the locations
So Zhao follows reports of the Avatar, but also watching the Seer to see if Aang shows up
EPISODES
Everything is Connected
The gAang has been hanging out in Haru's village for a month (or more). The Waterbenders are recovering, living and working in the village. Katara especially has gotten stronger. Mai's betrayal hasn't been revealed to the village, but the gAang and Haru are cool to her, so she's pretty much ignored, except for Katara who is getting swimming lessons from Mai (where she sees Mai's hands shaking). During one such lesson, Katara asks Mai about her motivations, and notes that impersonally claiming Fire Reformation as her cause doesn't reveal the truth of her friendship with Aang.
Being low on knives and sure that Azula will kill her, Mai buys a sword and some green robes with the last of her personal money (she chooses between soap and the robes). Sokka is hanging out with Katara and enjoying his status as a hero. Aang has been relaxing and telling himself that things are great even though he's still hurt about Mai, and when pressed by Haru and Tyro he admits he doesn't know what his next steps should be.
Meanwhile, Zhao decides that he's lost Aang's trail (reminder of Suki's existance and that Zuko brought Aang's staff), and figures that his best move at this point is to blame Zuko, accuse the prince of treason, and makes accusations about the Ozai faction's (imagined) alliance with platinum-stealing pirates and water tribe rebels. He drops Zuko off in a secure black-ops prison with Suki and goes to the Fire Nation to make the accusation.
Tyro passes on news that a Fire Nation squad is nearby, looking for something. (The Guru, who was looking for the Earth Temple because he had a vision of meeting the Avatar there.) The gAang finds out that the squad is a Platinum squad, and Mai reveals her platinum knife's effect on the Air Nomad zombies to Aang. (Sokka recalls how Mai gave him a weapon when they first discussed the platinum.)
They save the Guru from the squad, and he does connections-reading for the various gAang members: he reassures Mai that her family is alive and safe for now; he tells Sokka and Katara where Gran-Gran is, but Katara doesn't want to see them yet (because she feels damaged and doesn't want to see her Gran-Gran until she's "right" again); he teaches Aang spiritbending, and maybe also hints at the existance of air nomads?
Meanwhile, Azula and Jet, and Jet is freed by Bangfei?
Captives of the Fire Nation Piandao finds out about Zhao's play and reports to Ozai (who is relieved to hear confirmation that Zuko is alive), and Piandao goes on to determine where Zuko is and send word to Azula. Ozai confides to Piandao that he worries that he puts too much on Azula.
Zuko and Suki are talking in their cell, bonding. Zuko is complaining about Mai's betrayal, and Suki notes that people can betray their friends for what they think are good reasons. The Blue Spirit breaks into the base and starts doing an Azula infiltration to get to Zuko. She gets to his cage and frees him, showing her face so that he'll go with her. Zuko insists that Suki go with them, and then notes that they need Aang's staff as well.
The Blue Spirit (Azula) arrives on the prison island and sets about freeing them.
Zhao is left holding the bag when Azulon's royal investigators arrive.
The Fortuneteller The group (in disguise) encounters a Fortuneteller at a festival, who gives them romantic predictions. Aang and Katara are led to believe that they're destined for each other, but it should be ambiguous (since I know Aang dies); Sokka is predicted that he will love the enemy; Mai is predicted that she will give herself as a bride to death itself. The festival is a 'Day of Dead' where homage is done to the dead and families honor their ancestors, in an effort to appease whatever spirits are rampaging in the wilds outside the village. (The gAang wonder why the Fire Nation is not having these problems.) While sorting their love predictions, the gAang observe a proclaimed Ghostbuster decrying the Fortuneteller as a witch and the cause of the local ghost problems. The gAang helps her, in the process coming into conflict with a Fire Nation Platinum division, and eventually expose the Ghostbuster as a huckster.
At the end, the Fortuneteller turns out to be a spy for The Seer, and passes on info on how to meet up with the Earth Resistance.
Zhao is left humiliated and now blacklisted by everyone with power, but then Jeong-Jeong shows up, says, "There is an expression often said to people in your position. It goes, 'You have really stepped in it this time.' Or something like that," and offers Zhao the job of hunting the Avatar for *unharmed capture* for Iroh on a special task force. Zhao accepts, and is given Bangfei as a Weapon who can take Aang down unharmed; Bangfei serves as Zhao's dialogue partner in their scenes. The plan they're given is to capture the new Airbenders and use them as bait for Aang.
Sisters of Kyoshi Island or Two Faced The Fire Teens find June, and can now act on having Aang's staff; they give chase, with June in the lead and everyone else on Ostrich Birds. Hi ho, Nyla, away!
Meanwhile, Piandao rescues Suki's sister, interspersed with flashbacks to the girls' childhood, where they grew up as orphans and joined Oyagi's Unagi gang before they both got discipline on different paths.
Kirai joined the Fire Navy, looking to throw in with the real power.
Suki discovers her grandmother's legacy and trains herself as a Kyoshi Warrior.
Kirai is eventually pressed to reveal the secrets of the Unagi gang, which are mostly destroyed by the military police.
Suki leads the rest into becoming local rebels and condemns her sister, but long after Kirai is shipped out on a tour of duty, Suki goes to the local police and uses Kirai's reputation to become a double agent, having learned that against a foe with no honor, one's own honor is a liability
Kirai learns about honor from Piandao, which of course is ironic considering that he's a double-agent for Iroh.
A New Wind * Zhao uses captive Airbenders as bait for Aang. * Ty Lee escaped from him and is saved by the gAang, and then she sees Mai she executes a full tacklehug * "I sense Zhao." "I sense a trap." "Next move?" "Spring the trap." * Sokka is hot for Ty Lee, despite his anti-Fireness * Airbenders are freed * Katara is convinced to go home, despite not being "healed" * It's decided that the Airbenders will be safe with the Water Tribe.
The Seer * The gAang and the Airbenders go in search of the Water Tribe and the Seer, but find only a blind girl living in the wilderness outside Ba Sing Se. It turns out to be Toph, the Seer, and her rebels surround the gAang. * She has a guard of Blue Spirits, led by Jet. He lobbies for Toph to capture them for Iroh, and Toph isn't sure who to throw in with, her mysterious patron or the wimpy Avatar. * Aang wins, somehow. Thanks to Mai? Toph takes them to Full Moon Bay. * The bay is a giant grotto where the Southern Water Tribe has joined with Toph's rebels to form a great village, living mostly off of fish but also trying to set up some farming. * The Ba Sing Se ashland is on the horizon, and Aang can sense that the Dark Side is very strong there. He and Mai go to have a look, and they encounter Long Feng.
The Spirit Hunters * Long Feng introduces himself and his Spirit-hunting Dai Li, introducing themselves as Ghostbusters, but noting that they have aspirations to fix the whole world of the spirit problems. * The two stupid Dai Li agents Zhuang and Laotao are Long Feng's sidekicks. * Aang is all over this, and so wants to know how he can help. * Long Feng secretly tags Mai with a tracking spirit. * Long Feng claims to need platinum, and points to a Fire Nation shipment about which he has intelligence (how?) that he needs Aang to rob for him, since he doesn't have the manpower to strike at the Southern Seas. Aang agrees. * The Fire Teens have tracked Aang to Full Moon Bay, and prepare to strike.
The White Gold * The gAang hits the platinum shipmen in the Southern Seas, and then (Iroh's subcontracted) pirates attack to steal the same platinum * Meanwhile, the Fire Teens (and June) infiltrate Full Moon Bay, and get into a skirmish with Jet, Toph, and Katara.
Resurrection * Long Feng has been looking for a way to bring Ba Sing Se back, inspired by visions he had walking through the former city's ashland, and thinks that Aang can making the visions reality, using a ceremony that will 'pin' the etheral Ba Sing Se in place using platinum spires. * Things start to go wrong: Spirit Godzilla? * The Fire Teens mess things up, and Jet retreats to get Iroh's help. * Zhao is drawn by the spectacle, attacking Full Moon Bay * Aang uses the technique that The Guru taught him in order to defeat Godzilla. * Long Feng seems to die, but he's captured by Zhao and saved by Bangfei to be presented (with his records and spirit research) to Iroh. * Aang kisses Mai * Zuko forgives Mai * Ty Lee kisses Sokka, but he rejects her * Jet shows up at the end to herald reinforcements from the Northern Water Tribe, and reveals that he helped kidnap/save Mai's family. The help defeats Zhao's forces, and Pakku meets with Aang and passes on Iroh's offer to win the war.

MMO AU Concept: The Missing Keykids
So... I just gotta come up with names for those Keykids. You know, the five Keykids introduced alongside the Sewer Squad in the third anniversary event of the original browser game? @keykidpilipili made a post about them here?
Yeah, anyway, I’m gonna try and come up with names for them. Like, NPC names since they’d all play the role of quest-giving NPC’s.
Anyway, Pirate Hat girl is Cap’s older sister, and her name is Carina (after the name @levi657 calls bandana girl). She was the original leader of Cap’s/Skipper’s party, with Skipper being her second in command. The two joined the Dandelions together, (with Carina begging Ava to let her sister join), but Carina ultimately left when Ava disappeared. One day she left to collect Lux, and never came home. A few weeks later, Skipper found her hat in the claws of a Darkling. From that day on, she was the new Captain.
The kitty-ear hairdo girl is either Nekko or Kitty (because puns). She was never a Dandelion, but, much like Ribbi, was an inexperienced wielder who had a bad habbit of getting into trouble. After just barely dragging her dying body away from an encounter with some enemy wielders, she made a desperate deal with Nightmare Chirithy to obtain the powers of darkness to save herself. She very quickly became a Darkling afterwards.
The bear-hat girl in fluffy gloves is either Teddy or Ursa (what’s the Japanese word for bear?). She looks cute, but has a somewhat short fuse, like an actual bear. She’s one of the oldest Keykids, and had a bit of a rebellious streak. She became a Darkling after she wound up killing a bunch of Keykids from other Unions in an attempt to collect their Lux for her own.
The vampire cosplayer with the eyepatch is not wearing a fake wing. That wing is very much a part of him. His name is... I don’t wanna say Vlad because that seems too easy. Anyone got any ideas? Anyway, he’s not a vampire, but is part Black Mage, and part something else (not gonna say demon because he’s not an inherently evil person). Having secretly been part of a religion that advocated for a balance between Light and Darkness, and secretly began directly absorbing Guilt in an attempt to keep the darkness from being completely extinguished. Unfortunately for him, he failed to account for the balance in his own heart, drove himself mad, and became a Darkling, eating his own Chirithy before it could vanish.
The red suit kid is actually one of Brain’s four friends. His name is Crimson. He, Brain, and two other Keykids were friends for years before their Keyblades manifested, and continued their friendship long afterwards. After Aced’s and Invi’s clash, however, a lot of pressure was put on him from his party members to prove his loyalty to his Union. He was given an ultimatum, kill his four out-of-Union friends, or be killed himself. Ultimately, he sabotaged the experiment. Though Brain survived, the result was good enough, and he became both fanatically devoted to his own Union, moreso than the other members. Eventually, he and Brain met again, and he tried to finish the job in front of his party members so they wouldn’t see him as weak. This backfired when Brain defeated him. Brain ultimately decided that sparring him to live with the humiliation of losing to a blind kid would be far better revenge than killing him, and his party ultimately ditched him. Overcome with despair at having lost both his out-of-Union and in-Union friends, he fell to the Darkness and became a Darkling.
... This is gonna be real awkward with the black girl, because having a black person become a creature called a “Darkling” just feels wrong on multiple levels...
That and I still don’t have a name for her... Or even know if she’s still alive in canon... This would be easier if she had an over-the-top design.
... @disneydreamlights do you have any ideas?
Edit: THREE other Keykids! Brain, Crimson, and THREE other Keykids! I cannot math!

The Ursa Squad
So I decided to try NaNoWriMo for the first time and will be working on THIS fanfiction :P If it goes well I’ll post it on Wattpad and AO3 so if you like it, please give it a like, comment, or reblog!
Summary:
Atlas and his crew, the Ursa Squad are Republic Commando’s during the Clone War. The Squad was sent to spy on Grievous and his dealings with the Trandoshan Slavers. But, things don’t go according to plan and they end up in a fight for their lives.
Guest Appearences:
Anakin, Rex, Padme, Fives and Echo, General Grievous, and others.
Warnings:
A little bit of violence but that’s about it.
Tumblr media
A light flickered on in the fog, indicated the presence of other life forms. These particular life forms were the Trandoshan slavers Atlas and his squad, the Ursa squad had been tracking. Atlas perched on the cliff face above the Trandoshan camp, watching their every move through his rifle scope. The black, craggy rocks made for harsh silhouettes against the cold, grey/blue sky. It didn’t rain much this time of year, but when it did, as it was now, the black rocks glistened as if with fresh blood.
Above the cliff Atlas perched at, a dark forest of angry trees hid his other three brothers. Jumper, the team medic, and Ulysses, the team tech guy, were partnered as usual, watching for any scouts. Max, the sniper, perched like an eager predatory bird in a taller tree not too far off, with his sniper rifle trained on the camp for when the excitement started. Their normally white armor had been covered with the mud of the local planet, though Atlas could still see the different colored paint marks his crew had used to make themselves individual.
Max took a moment and cleaned his scope.
“This is a nice place. Friendly, ya know?” He said over the coms. “Like you, Ulysses.”
Ulysses growled over the coms in response.
“Exactly. Couldn’t agree more.” Max chirped.
Ulysses didn’t respond. Jumper, who crouched next to him nudged Ulysses.
“This doesn’t seem like a place the Trandoshans would want to meet Grievous. Is this place anything like Trandosha?” Jumper asked.
After a pause, Ulysses growled back,
“Why would you think I know that?”
“Maybe because you’re a nerd and know everything there is to know about anything. Don’t think I don’t see you reading Reg Manuals in your free time.” Jumper said, without hesitation.
“Call me a nerd again and I’ll rip out your femur and beat you with it.” Ulysses grumbled, though he didn’t contradict Jumper. Jumper himself wasn’t bothered by the threat. When Ulysses quit threatening, that was the time to be bothered.
After a moment of silence, Ulysses spoke,
“There’s less sand. It’s colder, gloomier, and nicer here.” He said quietly. Jumper smirked to himself.
“I knew it. There was no reason to pick this miserable place,” Max piped up, “Other than to make Ulysses happy. Nice to know they care.”
Jumper could almost see Ulysses roll his eyes under his bucket. Just then, a ship emerged from the heavy fog.
“Cut the chatter Ursa’s. General Grievous is here.” Atlas, the leader, said. The other three obediently complied, readying themselves. This was only a reconnaissance mission, but they knew missions rarely stuck to the plan.
Atlas looked through his scope and watched Grievous’ ship land. Soon, the General himself exited the craft, escorted by three of his signature Magna guards. What appeared to be the Trandoshan leader, came out in the light rain to greet them. As words began to be exchanged, Atlas turned on his audio.
“- prize will be arriving soon.” Grievous said, interweaving his spiked fingers. The Trandoshan leader crossed his arms.
“I hope they’re as good as you say, for your sake.”
Grievous laughed, then fell into a coughing fit.
“They are the best. I am sure they will put up a good hunt. The Separatist Alliance greatly appreciates your continued supply of good in exchange for such…Ferocious prey.” Grievous said. If Grievous’ face plate could smile, Atlas was sure he would be.
“So they ARE trading with each other. Glad to know we were right,” Max chirped in their ears, “Wait…Don’t the Trandoshans hunt PEOPLE?”
 “Yup.” Ulysses responded.
“Man, that’s messed up.” Max said, tragically. There was a slight pause.
“Isn’t that your entire job? As a sniper?” Ulysses commented.
“I-That’s not-You….no…it’s different…. stop it.” Max said. Ulysses let out a deep chuckle.
“Clear coms.” Atlas said again. He would never admit it, for fear of encouraging this behavior, but he liked the banter of his brothers. It comforted him.
“When should we be expecting them?” The Trandoshan leaders gravely voice grated against Atlas’ ears.
“They should be just outside.” Grievous said. Atlas’ heart jumped. If Grievous had prisoners, why hadn’t they noticed them?
Blaster fire sounded in Atlas’ coms, and sparks of light shown through the trees where Jumper and Ulysses had been hiding.
“Jumper, Ulysses, are you okay over there?” Atlas called. Nothing.
“Ursa’s, report!” Atlas tried again. Panic rose in his chest. Atlas sensed movement behind him. A snapping twig confirmed a presence. Atlas whipped around. Several Magna guards and two Trandoshans stalked towards him.
“Sir, it’s us! We’re what the prey the Trandoshans were promised!” Jumpers urgent voice came through the garbled coms. Dread knotted in Atlas’ stomach.
The first Trandoshan charged Atlas. Lithely, Atlas stepped to the side, giving the Trandoshan a good shove on the back as it barreled past him, sending it careening off the cliff screaming. Seeing his brother fall, the second Trandoshan charges him, pulling out a machete. Atlas charges back, ducking the blade and grabbing the Trandoshan around the torso before plowing him into the ground. The Magna guards engaged. Before Atlas could land a hit on the Trandoshan, the Magna guards attacked, swinging their electrified staff weapons.
Atlas catches the first one inches from his face, then ducks the second one. The Trandoshan under him angrily kicks Atlas away. Atlas grunts and tumbles away, losing his grip on the first electric staff. Atlas rolls backward and comes up with his blaster in hand. But, the Magna guards were already there, and knocked it out of his hand. The other Magna guard jabbed him with the electrified end, just under his arm where the chest plate didn’t cover.
Pain surged through Atlas and his muscles seized up. He tasted iron in his mouth as blood from biting his own cheek slowly covered his tongue.
The Trandoshan took advantage of Atlas’ momentary distraction. Grabbing his machete, he slammed the handle down on Atlas’ head. White flashed in Atlas’ vision and he crumpled to the ground. Atlas reached for his pistol. Before he could get to it, the magna guards tased him again. Again, his muscles seized up and he let out a strangled roar. The Trandoshan unholstered his rifle and switched it to stun.
The moment the guards let up, Atlas tried to jump, but the electrocution made him sloppy. The Trandoshans blast nailed him in the chest. Atlas grunted. His chest and limbs instantly went numb. Atlas crumpled to the ground as his vision went black.
   …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Grievous sat as comfortably as his metallic body would let him. The dull electronic buzzing of the lights sucked the soul out of the filthy room. Trophies, food supplies, and weapons lay strewn about too unorganized for Grievous’ comfort, but this clearly did not bother the Trandoshan leader who sat across from him. Together they casually watched the blaster fire light up the night sky until it abruptly stopped. Grievous chuckled.
“Right on time.” He said. The Trandoshan leader smirked.
“Excellent. General Grievous, how did you know they would be there?” the leader hissed.
“No average clone could complete this mission,” Grievous explained, “And, you’re not important enough for the Republic to send a Jedi.”
The leader bristled and stood up, his stool violently falling back.
 “You watch you’re-“
 Grievous’ com interrupted the outburst.
“Sir, we have captured two of the Commando’s. The other two have fled on foot. We are pursuing.” A Magna guard reported.
“Gooooood, “Grievous drawled, “Bring them here. We will meet you on the landing platform.”
Grievous turned to the Trandoshan leader.
“It would be wise to prepare your transports. Your quarry will be here soon.”
Without a word, the leader briskly gestures to two of his men and they dash out of the room.
“They better be worth the slaves we’re providing you.” The leader hissed.
“They will be.” Grievous said, before heading out into the light rain.
Meanwhile, up on the mountain, Ulysses and Jumper stood, surrounded by mangle Magna guards and Trandoshan bodies. Their breath came in short, fast gasps until their healthy bodies quickly recuperated. Smoke gently oozed out of their rifle barrels.
“Grievous got Atlas and Max.” Ulysses said angrily, almost a whisper. Jumper aggressively reloaded.
“That slimy doshing, moof-milker knew we were coming.” Jumper spat.
“Language.” Ulysses chided. Jumper raised an eyebrow, knowing his brother couldn’t see it. While Ulysses inspected the damaged droids, Jumper reached into his med kit and pulled out a syringe. He grabbed Ulysses helmet, pulling it to the side so his neck was exposed, and shoved the syringe in.
 “ARGH! What-?” Ulysses sputtered.
“That was to stop the bleeding…and the pain.” Jumper said, putting his gear away. Ulysses still looked at him, not understanding. Jumper sighed and pointed to Ulysses’ side. One of the Trandoshans blades must’ve slipped under his armor. The concoction Jumper just gave him would stave off the bleeding until they could get to a read medical facility.
 “Didn’t notice.” Ulysses said.
“I know.” Jumper replied. Despite being genetically the same, Ulysses had an abnormally high pain tolerance.
 They finished loading their weapons.
“Let’s go get those sons of Bantha’s.” He said. He could almost feel Ulysses smirk. They head through the trees towards the base.
On the bases landing platform, Atlas and Max were dragged handcuffed, then thrown to their knees at Grievous’ feet. The Trandoshan leader waited greedily at the entrance of his base, not caring to go out into the rain until he had to. Grievous towered over the two Commando’s on the ground.
“Tell me, where are the other two?” Grievous asked, almost in a pleasant manner. The two Commando’s stayed silent.
“We know they are out there. Save yourselves some pain and give us their locations.” Grievous said, trying again. Again, the Commando’s stayed silent. The Trandoshan leader looked concerned. Pain usually meant injury or death and injured prey did not put up a good hunt. Worse, dead prey put up no hunt at all. Still, he didn’t say anything. Not yet.
“Very well. If we can’t go to them, we’ll make them come to us.” Grievous said. He aggressively backhanded Max onto the ground. Max grunted as his head was knocked around his helmet. Atlas tried to stand, but the Magna guards electrocuted him back to his knees. Through his visor, Atlas glared at Grievous.
“What are you doing? I need them alive!” The Trandoshan leader finally said, stepping into the rain. Grievous grabbed Max’s chest plate, lifting him one armed to look him in the face.
“And they will be. But, if you want the whole package, I will have to damage some of the…goods.” Grievous said, almost purring. Violently, he slammed Max into the ground. Max gasped as the air left his lungs. Grievous pulled out one of his many lightsabers, ignited it and drove it into Max’s thigh. A strangled scream escaped Max’s throat. Atlas jumped up and leapt at Grievous.
“You skug!” He bellowed. The Trandoshan leader quickly pulled out the handcuff controls and tased Atlas sending white hot pain through his body, holding the button until Atlas was frozen on his knees. Two Trandoshan guards quickly grabbed hold of the Commando, holding him down after the pain stopped.
Grievous was unmoved by the commotion. He scanned the forest for life signs.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are.” He said, mostly to himself. At this, Grievous stepped on Max’s injury. Max tries to hold in a scream, but Grievous presses down until Max couldn’t hold it back and the full scream ripped through his throat. His own voice vibrated through his helmet. The burning in his leg was the only thing he could think of. He couldn’t even hear Grievous’ cackles of metalic laughter.
Max’s screams carried through the forest to Jumper and Ulysses angry ears. They bristled, hearing their brother being tortured. The base was just insight. They saw it all. It is everything they can do to not rush down there to their brother’s aid, but they both know that’s what Grievous wants.
“I’m going to rip that clankers faceplate off and use it to pry his guts out of his living carcass.” Jumper hissed.
 “Get in line.” Ulysses said.
They sneak through the trees for a better view of the base. Ulysses took care to add sensors behind them as they went. Crouching above the base, in some bushes, the two scope the scene. Below them, Grievous hits Max again, causing their brother to crumple in on himself. Ulysses suppresses a growl as hot anger flushes his cheeks. He toys with the violent ideas he often had about his enemies. These were more aggressive than most as his brother lay on the ground.
“The longer we’re here, the more he’s gonna hurt Max.” Jumper whispered, jolting Ulysses out of his daydream. Behind him, a rock jutted out, briefly sheltering them from the rain. Ulysses glanced up at it, then back at the base. On the opposite side of the base, a nest of small transport pads were neatly parked. Grinning, Ulysses pulled out a grenade.
“I have an idea.” He said softly. Jumper looked at him and Ulysses could feel him raise an eyebrow.
“Will I be comfortable with it?” Jumper asked.
“No.” Ulysses replied easily. There was a pause.
 “Will it save them?”
 “Yes.”
Jumper thought about it and looked down at the platform. He trusted his brother. No one ever suspected it because Ulysses was so quiet and violent, but Ulysses was probably the smartest clone Jumper had ever known. He had been thrilled when Ulysses had been put on the Tech track instead of the Demolition track back on Kamino.
“What do you need?” Jumper said.
“I need you to get Max, while I get us a ride.” Ulysses said, pointing to the helipads. Jumper grinned, having an idea of what Ulysses was planning. A clean, silent getaway. Distract and get out. Honestly, cleaner than a lot of Ulysses’ plans.
“Wait for the boom, then attack.” Ulysses said, jumping up and running off.
“Wait, boom?” Jumper asked. On second thought, this sounded about right. One of the sensors that Ulysses put in the trees went off. Without really thinking about it, Jumper turned, aimed, and fired, blasting the Trandoshan right in the head.
“Watch your back Vod.” Jumper mumbled quietly.
     ………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Max’s ribs felt like shards of glass with every inhale. He knew he’d broken a few. Even through his thick Commando armor. He could vaguely hear Grievous taunting them, somewhere in the distance. Softly he groaned as his vision blurred. His head pounded. The weight of Grievous’ foot lifted off his chest. Max gasped, his vision cleared, except a few black dots at the edges of his vision. His ribs were like shards as he breathed in deeply. He hadn’t been this wrecked since the last time he’d been this wrecked. Above him Grievous looked to the tree line above them.
“They are taking longer than I thought.” He muttered. Menacingly, he stalked up to Atlas.
“Maybe the legendary bond between your kind isn’t as strong as we thought.” Grievous mocked. Atlas clenched his fist. Max could feel the icy stare of his brother. Max wanted to yell at Atlas not to take on Grievous. Then they’d both be in the same situation Max was. What help would they be to the other two if him and Atlas couldn’t move?
Atlas straightened and leaned into Grievous’ stare, but thankfully, the Trandoshan Leader interrupted the stare off.
“I hope you intend to pay us back if this one doesn’t give us a good hunt!” He growled, gesturing to Max, crumpled on the ground. Max weakly rolled his eyes. Yeah, that wasn’t insulting or anything.
“I…I could take you on…any day…you chuff sucking leech.” Max said, just barely loud enough to hear. He could almost audibly hear the eye roll that followed from Atlas. Any day he could get a massive eyeroll out of Atlas was a good day…Which was most days.
“Why you filthy little-” The Trandoshan leader stepped towards Max.
“Now, now. I thought you said you wanted me to pay you back if he didn’t give a good fight. I assure you if you do that, he won’t put up a good hunt.” Grievous said. The Trandoshan leader stopped and eyed Max.
“Besides, these ones are equipped with bacta processing, which as you noticed, I have plenty of bacta in my ship. I will give you a case when we capture the other 2. They can heal on the way to Trandosha…Unless you do something…Unnecessary sooner.” Grievous said. The Trandoshan leader huffed and crossed his arms.
Just then an explosion rocked the platform from the other side of the outpost.
“Here they come. I hope you’re ready for a sample hunt.” Grievous said. The Trandoshan leader grinned at him wickedly.
“Of course we are! You four, come with me!” He said. The Trandoshans ran into the base. Grievous didn’t move. He didn’t even drop his cape. Instead he had his Magna Guards replace the Trandoshans as the guards around the commandos.
“You’re not coming?” The leader asked.
“I’m not inclined to leave our investment alone.” He said. The Trandoshan leader nodded, then charged into the building. Grievous turned to Atlas.
“Not when this is clearly a diversion.” Grievous whispered. Atlas growled at him. Grievous whipped away and called for the Trandoshan prison transport to be flown down.
“You two,” Grievous said, pointing at the only two remaining Trandoshans, “Get the prisoners ready for transport.”
A droid popper bounced across the platform and came to a stop underneath the nearest Magna guard’s feet. Max grinned weakly. The poppers exploded, zapping the two closest Magna guards, sizzling their metallic bodies. A blaster bolts streak across the platform and finished them off. Without hesitation, Atlas grabbed the staff of the nearest, distracted guard, snatching it and shoving it through the guards chest plate. Before Atlas could do much else, Grievous snatches up the handcuff remote and electrocutes Atlas. Atlas let out a strangled scream and fell to his knees. A blaster bolt knocked the remote out of Grievous’ hand. Atlas gasped and slouched. Blaster bolts struck around Grievous’ feet and he ignited his sabers, snarling with delight.
Max watched with blurry vison as Jumper leapt from behind some supply boxes at the far end of the platform. Jumper ducked and dodged, taking out the remaining Trandoshans before they could get to him. Max tried to sit up, but black spots darkened his vision and a metallic taste coated his tongue. He groaned and dropped his head. Hands gripped his shoulders roughly and started dragging Max to the edge of the platform.
 “…Atlas.” Max whispered.
“I got you.” Atlas said back quietly. His cuffs were still smoking from whatever laser blast had cut them in half. Atlas gently rests Max behind some supply boxes. Quickly, he takes out the Magna guards closest to Jumper, blasting them away with the Trandoshans shot gun. At the sight of the Magna guards being shredded, Atlas looks at the shotgun with admiration.
 “Ugh…get a room.” Max said.
“I’d like to see you shoot this weapon and not look at it with love.” Atlas retorted.
“…Touché.” Max said. Atlas gestured at Jumper, who leapt across the platform. Him and Atlas switch places. Atlas leaps out from behind the crate, throwing a grenade at Grievous as he does so. Grievous shields himself as the grenade blinds him. Atlas isn’t far behind and jumps through the smoke, planting his foot firmly on Grievous and launching him off the platform. Jumper turns towards the delirious and bleeding form of Max.
“Hey kiddo, you’re gonna be okay. This is for the pain…and this is bacta.” Jumper said, jamming a syringe into the port in Max’s suit design for that purpose. Max grunts as it pinches, then relaxes as a cool wave of relief spreads over his body.
“I knew you…couldn’t live without me…” Max chuckled.
“No, it’s just too much trouble to replace you.” Jumper replied evenly.
 There was a pause.
“Cool.” Max said, in too much pain to think of anything smarter. The pain meds made him drowsy.
“This is Ursa squad. Mission when south. We need immediate evac.” Jumper said over his com.
“Understood. Sending evac now. Be ready to get out of there.” The person on the other line replied. A ship descended above them. It didn’t look like a Republic ship. Next to him, Jumper swore. It was the Trandoshan prison ship.
“We’ll be ready.” Jumper said. Trandoshans start unloading from the ship. Atlas whirls around.
“Seriously! Where is Ulysses?” He shouts.
Another big boom rocks the platform. Still trailing fire from the blast, Ulysses flies above on a helipad.
“Get on Nerf Herders.” Ulysses says, flying just low enough for the rest of them to load on. Max groans as they move him onto the flying transport. A spray of blaster bolts fly by them as they speed away. The transport wobbles as a bolt hits them.
“Please tell me your plan involved more than just one boom.” Atlas said, firing back at the Magna Guards and Trandoshan reinforcements.
“Heh heh…yup.” Ulysses said. He held up a detonator and pressed the button. The base of the ledge of rock Jumper had noticed earlier exploded. It tumbled down the clifface and smashed into the platform, rocking it and crushing the Trandoshan prison ship. The ship explodes and knocks off Grievous’ ship, scattering bacta pacts everywhere. Both ships go tumbling down into the grey mist below, leaving the unsteady platform in flames.
From below the platform, Grievous hung, watching his ship fall into the abyss. He eyed the Ursa’s. He swung lithely underneath the platform, quickly getting to the other side before crawling onto the top of the platform. He eyed the Ursa’s, then launched himself at them. He snagged the back of the transportation platform, grabbing the handrails for support. The platform tilts back, Jumper stumbles and tumbles off the back, barely grabbing hold with one hand. Grievous steadied himself, then stalked towards the front, knocking Atlas aside. Ulysses stood at the helm, with Max laying at his feet. Ulysses pulled his blaster and aimed at Grievous. Grievous grabbed it and pointed it up just as Ulysses fired. Grievous slammed his metal faceplate down on Ulysses forehead. The Commando’s head jerked back. He grunted and stumbled back. Grievous reached for the helm. Ulysses kicked out, slamming his heel into Grievous’ knee. Grievous roared and grabbed Ulysses by the neck, lifting him off his feet. With a look of hatred, Grievous threw Ulysses off the platform.
Without even a chuckle, Grievous stepped over Max to the helm. Just as he reached it, Atlas and Jumper attack him, wrenching him away from the steering. Max watched weakly as his brothers fight the General. There’s a tangle of metal arms and armored fists. Each brother struck blows while the other keeps Grievous from his sabers. But, Grievous separated his arms, going from two arms to four. He quickly pinned down the two Commandos, pressing his claws to their faceplates and their helmets to the floor. With his free hands, he draws his sabers and ignites them. Their hot plasma sizzled in the cold rain. Panic built in Max’s chest. From below, he can see Ulysses hanging on with his grappling hook, slowly making his way back up. But he’s going too slow. With agonizing slowness, Max grabbed his thigh pistol. Grievous raised his sabers. With one trembling arm, Max took aim. He pulled the trigger. The blast nailed Grievous in the shoulder. Grievous roared. Another shot hit him in the hip. Grievous crouched down and came at Max like an angry metal spider. Dread knotted in Max’s stomach. He fired frantically at the furious creature coming at him. It dodged and was soon on top of him, knocking his weapon out of his hand. It stared at him, burning hatred filling those awful yellow eyes.
“Ursa’s, this is Captain Jack, we see you and are headed your way.” The com above them blinks. Help is on the way. Atlas tried to get up, but Jumper beat him to it, flinging himself on Grievous. Without effort, Grievous caught him and threw him over the side, not watching long enough to see that he was caught be Ulysses.
“Get clear of General Grievous. We have the tractor beam ready for you.” The coms call again.
 Now, Grievous laughed.
“It’s too bad the Trandoshans won’t get the chance to hunt you like the vermin you are.”
 Grievous raised his lightsabers.
“You are DOOMED.” He bellowed. Max winced and closed his eyes. But the blow didn’t come. Instead, the sound of another light saber igniting caused Max to look up. Lightsabers crisscrossed just above him. Two were Grievous’. The other was by Atlas, blocking the Generals blow. Behind them, Ulysses and Jumper grabbed on to the platform and began climbing on.
“Hurry! Separatist reinforcements just entered orbit. We can’t hold them off long!” The coms beeped.
“Scum!” Grievous shrieked. He slammed down his sabers on Atlas. Barely, Atlas blocked. Grievous swung his sabers and blinding speed as Atlas jumped, ducked and blocked in barely controlled chaos. Grievous slammed them both down on top of Atlas. Atlas barely managed to stop the force of the blow, slowly forcing him back towards Max.
“Now, you die.” Grievous whispered. Faster than Atlas could react, the General whipped one saber back, then jammed it into Atlas’ torso.
 “No!”
Max wasn’t sure which brother cried it, or if all of them did.
“The cripple is next!” Grievous laughed. Atlas looks back at Max. Atlas firmly grabbed Grievous’ wrist, keeping them to his torso.
“If I’m going, you’re coming with me.” Atlas growled. Keeping Grievous’ hands firmly trapped, Atlas forced him to the edge.
“Ret’urcye mhi, vode.” Atlas said, before wrapping his arms around Grievous and launching them both off the transport, falling into the fog below.
Without hesitation, Jumper leapt off of the transport after them, but just as he did, the tractor beam caught them, freezing Jumper in midair.
Panic filled Ulysses as he watched his brother disappear into the fog. He had been one second away from following Jumper off the transport. In the longest moment ever, they were hauled up into the Republic vessel. Max was immediately put on a stretcher. In a haze Ulysses and Jumper fight to jump back out through the open door. No plan, just desperate to get their brother and leader back.
 The transport door closed.
Ulysses raced to the nearest window for any glimpse of Atlas. The ship speeds away.
Hot fury boiled in Ulysses chest. He stormed into the cockpit.
“Turn us around.” He said quietly. A commanding officer, steps in front of him.
“We cannot do that. Our forces are being overrun. If we don’t leave now we-“
“I don’t care. Turn this ship around. Now.” Ulysses said, more forcefully.
 “We cannot afford to-“
Ulysses grabbed the man by the collar, interrupting him, and slammed him into the wall.
“Turn. Us. Around.” He whispered in the man’s ear. The man looks both terrified and sad.
“There’s no point. He’s dead. I watched.” He said. Resisting the urge to snap the man’s neck right then and there, Ulysses threw the man down behind him. He stalked towards the pilot.
“If you won’t turn this ship around, I will.”
The door opens again behind them and Jumper walked in.
“Oh good! You! Talk some sense into your teammate!” The commander called to Jumper as he got up.
Jumper surveyed the scene and Ulysses made eye contact. Jumper turned to the commander and shrugged.
“No brother left behind,” He said, then turned back to Ulysses, “Do it.”
With a curt nod, Ulysses turned to the pilot and yanked him out of the seat.
“Guards!” The commander called. The commander stepped toward Jumper. Smoothy, Jumper pressed his elbow into the commander’s throat and pinned him to the wall. Then a crackling pain shot through his body, freezing his limbs. A cold numbness spread through him and Jumper crumpled to the floor. Ulysses leapt across the cockpit at the guards who had stunned his brother. But before he could get there, the commander pressed his blaster into Ulysses side and pulled the trigger. The crackling pain shot through Ulysses and he convulsed and his knees buckled. He collapsed to the floor as the cold numbness spread through his body. Blackness overtook him as he lay on the floor. The last thing he heard was the sound of his own heart, and the faint memory cry of Atlas as he was ran through.
   ………………………………………………………………………………………………………
A dull ache pulsed through Atlas’ body. The rain had turned to snow which had been stained with the mud, the bacta, and the blood of the fight minutes earlier. Atlas groans. The sound jarred his ears. He tried to breath in, but a burning pain in his stomach stopped him. Next to him, a bacta injection lay in the snow. Several of them scattered over the snow where they had fallen from General Grievous’ ship.
Atlas took a quivering breath. He could feel his life force leaving him. Weakly, he reached for the bacta and injected it. A small relief. There was another one nearby. Again, he reached for that and injected it. Slowly, a warmth slowly spread in his fingers. But, he was still on the edge. He needed more, but there weren’t anymore nearby.
Slowly, Atlas propped himself up on his elbows. Hot blood dripped down his forehead and off his nose onto the inside of his visor. Grievous’ ship was nearby. If he could get to that, he could get more bacta and maybe call for help. He crawled, painfully through the snow, one inch at a time. One last bacta injection was enough for him to feel his strength slowly returning. He made the mistake of trying to stand. His vision blurred and spots danced in front of him. Pain ripped through his abdomen and he collapsed. He didn’t hear the footsteps approaching.
“He’s still alive.” A gravelly voice said.
“He’s one of those commandos. He would fetch a high price on the Zygerian slave market.” A second slithering voice said.
“Or a good hunt….If he lives.” The first said. A figure crouched down into Atlas’ vision. A Trandoshan.
“Well, we better get going before Count Dooku gets here.” It said.
“Or Grievous wakes up,” the second one said, “Come on big boy, you’re coming with us.”
The Tradoshan slammed the butt of his rifle down on Atlas’ head. Atlas’ vision flashed white, then went black.
