how to improve drawing kinda fast:
ditch lineart for a bit (this way its easier to part with things that aren’t working)
use a REALLY thin brush
copy, copy, copy art you think is ✨art goals✨
don’t post that stuff tho :O
if you need to trace at first, thats fine lol but break away from that eventually!! you gotta train your eyes to draw what you see, spatial awareness is very important
copy hands, poses, expressions, anything you wanna get better at
don’t copy from refs that are way too simple to be used as a “master study”, like from the calarts shows etc.
copy from stuff thats kinda complex bc if you learn how to draw it in that complex way, you can always simplify it if you want ^^
im pretty sure this is how many of us have become obsessed with hip dips details LOL
if something looks off, flip ur canvas, mess with ur sketch, or even delete (or hide) parts of the sketch and try again. if you drew it once, u can draw it again. (erase or hold up the page to the light backwards if drawing on paper)
being cool with parting with your sketch if its not working will make you a better artist
youre allowed to frankenstein refs together lol (a hand from here, a mouth from there...)
if youre having trouble making your sketches look like theres actual shapes, try shading :D
literally the only reason i shade now is to show the shapes of objects in more of a painterly way (its not just for paintings btw, its just easier to describe it that way)
try new things that youre excited about like perspective, anatomy, blah blah
copy!!!! while youre copying it’s gonna be cool to see how much you remember when you try it on your own
scribble a doodle as often as you can, not like urgently, but like as something to look forward to (like how lots of ppl look forward to wordle everyday lol)
this list can apply to anyone but its fine if you wanna take some advice and leave some if it doesn’t work out. this list is mostly just to get you comfortable with sketching and learning, not performing.
I mention that “not performing” thing bc its easy to want to please social media platforms because that attention and validation can feel amazing! 
but its also addicting because many of us crave being in a community and talking to ppl who like the same things we do
there are many communities out there from artist youtubers, artist streamers, etc. and many of them have discords and stuff and it might be fun to join! and/or join fandom ones if u want ^^ 
that way you have something thats not bound by if ig decides to not show your post to your followers or something
there’s also lots of other platforms that aren’t social media based specifically for artist communities too!
with this said, please be safe! never give out private info and you’re always free to block/report ppl who make u uncomfortable or ask weird things. 
on the topic of being in communities... reblog art you like! comment the nice things youre thinking in the tags or in an actual comment! share art you like on your ig story!

I WILL TRY MY best to explain what i do… i don’t actually have a very structured system but this is vaguely how i got started and how i simplified the process
1. look up and compile a whole bunch of references
this will be useful for EVERYTHING– transfomos come with lots of shapes and gizmos and details and stuff so a variety of references from different angles and in different poses is really useful because you can see the shapes they’re made out of and also understand how everything connects with each other

trapezoid town! this is a mess but it’s a quick example of how by looking at everything you start to notice trends or details like what moves with what or how flexible some parts are
there are a whole bunch of resources very nice people have compiled on the web like here here here here and here (mainly MTMTE) and there is a discord server (this is a link to a tumblr post about it and not the invite link itself) for it too but you can always look through the source material and just start screenshotting and pasting shit into a folder.

you don’t have to do humongous in-depth breakdowns if you just want to be able to quickly doodle robots (god knows i don’t!!) but having the references on-hand makes it easier for the times when you’re like This pose is going to be challenging and I’m not sure how all of the cuboids will be positioned.
references also help break you out of thinking of it as just drawing blockier humans because the proportions and shapes vary a looooooot
2. draw draw draw
at first i drew a lot using refs heavily to get an idea of the shapes then i got lazy and just started drawing anime girls and smacking rectangles and kibble on top BUT as you draw more and more you start to pick up on the Salient Features as well as their General Silhouette.
drawing from memory means that what makes them look recognisable will become more emphasised in your mind so you’ll naturally pick up on how you can simplify them without losing what makes your guy Look Like Your Guy. so if you want to simplify the robots just be incredibly lazy like me B)
i'm kind of horrible because i don't even do like Basic Shapes i literally just eyeball it

anyway when i first tried to draw transformers but Something Didn’t Look Right it was either a) the level of detail across the entire drawing was inconsistent and threw it off balance or b) proportions weren’t right and these things only got better with me finangling and doodling and learning by iteration.
of course sometimes i don’t give a fuck because no cops in transformers doodle land but yeahhhh i’m the kind of guy who only gets through stuff by throwing a lot of rocks at it. i don’t have a Method to offer you unfortunately but what i did do was
3. experiment and exaggerate and experiment!!
The First Rule of Gun Safety is to Have Fun and Be Yourself! i took a lot of liberties and rarely stayed on-model when i doodled and waffled around (and i still do…) but it helped me figure out how much i was willing to draw lol and consequently how i would stylise them.
i would play with how big or small or exaggerated or expressive they'd be… even my most detailed drawings are nowhere near comic-detail but my least detailed ones were. turquoise triangle that’s vaguely brainstorm-shaped. having fun with it and just doing it to make stupid jokes makes the practice seem like not practice.
so yeah tl;dr i started by reffing what bots actually look like, would trace comic panels to get an idea of the shapes and details and then start drawing side-by-side → drew billions of perceptors from my diseased mind and played around with lines → ??? → upgraded from goofy-looking rectangles to goofy-looking rectangles
that’s it for advice! (i don’t feel qualified to say that much)
below are just examples of stupid doodles i’d make on my ipad in class or in the margins of assignments lol, you can tell the last one is from when i still didn't understand brainstorm's build very well because the wings are placed wrongly... But i grew.

RatteJak wasn’t my first fursona, Anastasia the goat was. I had trouble picking which animal I liked the most... In this design I combined a muskrat, a stoat, and an otter.
This is also the point where I started moving away from a realistic style to a more angular style.

Here I just kept editing the same reference image. The angular style looks pretty bad in some places, especially the clothing ref.
At this point in my personal life I started to shift away from being an edgy teenager to accepting my autism and interests.

I made an entire original species from the otter + stoat + muskrat concept. They were furry creatures that lived on land and underwater, and were also communists lmao

Do you have any advice for understanding hands better? I’ve been practicing them for years but feel like compared to other aspects of anatomy it’s the one thing I haven’t seen much improvement in. I draw both from life and images and draw nearly everyday but nothing I’m doing seems to help
I personally get by mostly from remembering poses that I’ve already practiced a ton, like I figure out how to draw it once and am able to file that away in my brain and use it again later, and tweak bits of the pose or the level of simplification to suit what I’m drawing. 
I’ve paid special attention to drawing hands for like.... most of my life so I have a LOT of poses I’m easy comfy with now, but when I need to figure out something complicated or new, I can usually work it out by breaking a hand down into shapes, remembering a few key points/”rules” from what I’ve learned about hands in order to help me break it down in a way that makes sense. And if that’s not enough either, then I take photo refs.

^^^ here is a pose I use a ton. I have a quick way of drawing it from various angles. the first time I had to draw a pose like this, I had to think and figure it out, but in drawing it a bunch of times and having to use various angles like this, I’ve eventually come up with a quick, reliable way to draw it from a few of the most common angles that fits the style I like to draw in. I’m blessed with a good memory for observations, so when I see a beautifully posed hand, I can usually really quickly analyze what I like about that pose and why, and that helps me absorb it so I can recreate my saved impression later. But I know not everyone thinks the same way. it might benefit you to quickly scribble down a study in a sketchbook when you see a pose you find beautiful and want to learn from for later.

^^^ here are some poses I had to stop and spend time figuring out, calling up the “rules” for how hands are built to kind of logic-out how they should look from angles I’m less familiar with. results can be mixed, but... if I end up with something expressive that fits the style of the rest of the drawing, I’m usually really forgiving of fudged anatomy or slightly wonky proportions. as long as the thumb is on the right side and there aren’t too many fingers, that’s a great start lol.

^^^ and here are ones I had to take reference-selfies for. I try to use this as a last resort because 1) it’s a lot of trouble 2) interrupts my drawing and 3) if I’m not careful I stick too close to the reference, and the drawing ends up with the hand looking referenced and the rest of the pose not, which is jarring to me. not to mention I have tiny manlet wrists that without fail, look horrific and emaciated in photos, and the lens distortion makes my fingers look scary too... ugh, photo reference has definite flaws. I actually don’t like the look of drawings for which I can Really Tell the artist drew from photo reference, because most often that means they’re taking the ref too much at face value and incorporating ugly lens distortions into their drawing. so I have to think extra hard not only about interpreting the ref, but also might have to make multiple passes just to get the hand to look normal, AND match the style of the rest of the drawing.
Anyway, here are some of the ““rules””” I mentioned earlier that I fall back on to help me figure out more complicated poses:

1. probably seen this before, but basic proportions. the palm is usually half the total height of the hand. obviously you can mess with this purposefully. 
2. I think of joints as like, ball joints or hinges. I find that easier than trying to remember bones & muscles. here’s a drawing of the wrist as a hinge. note that when you’re thinking of it this way, it’s a shortcut, but a shortcut is only good if you use it with precision. notice the pin for the wrist hinge is not just halfway, it’s closer to the top of the hand. being precise about that is what allows this shortcut to work. the heel of the palm juts out, while the top of the hand transitions into the wrist quite smoothly.
3. simplified planes. planes are important yo. in super simple terms: top is flat, bottom is round. this works on the fingers too, actually. the tops are bony and tendony, and the bottom is where the fat is, so it’s rounder and soft
thinking of the hand as abstract shapes REALLY helps simplify the task of drawing hands, and is just as helpful even if you are drawing from reference. I can say “the palm is a box” and obviously the palm is not really as simple as a box, but if I think of the palm, wrist, and each finger joint as various shapes of box, then all of a sudden, psychologically, my task is SO much easier. I’m not drawing a Hand, which is hard, I’m drawing boxes, which is easy.
4. that prominent knob some people have on their wrist? that’s on the pinky side.

1. the knuckles aren’t really a flat row on top. the hand is like a cup right, so your palm can hold water and things. so we can think of the hand as a box to make figuring out the pose easier, but when it comes down to it, you’ll want to make it more of a curve. this curve is why you can see multiple fingers in a side view
2. when curled up, the fingers nestle together. the fingernails also turn slightly toward the center. even if I’m simplifying the hands significantly, I usually still draw the fingernails because they are SO useful for communicating the pose of the hand effectively.
3. lots of people suggest to think of the hand as a mitten, grouping the pinky/ring/middle fingers and singling out the index finger. this works great, the index finger is more independent from the other three. on the flip side, those three are really stuck together; if you’re drawing the pinky curled up all the way, then you better not draw the ring finger sticking straight up, cause that would HURT. anyway, singling out the index finger leads to more interesting poses in my experience.

1. this is another illustration of top = flat and bottom = curved. this is a really easy way to organize your line quality. straight lines and sharper angles where there is bone, and soft gentle lines where there is muscle and fat. your drawing as a whole will read very clearly if you find some guidelines like that to stick to, as it means all your lines are intentional and thoughtful.
2. this one’s about overlaps. when forms overlap, it makes a crease, and when you draw that crease you’re communicating which form is in front of the other. in the second drawing I reversed all the creases, and it looks.... messed up. think about how pieces connect.

so when you’re trying to make up a pose without using specific reference, I think it’s good to think about the.... flow of energy through the pose. honestly, I know it’s really abstract, but if I have an ability to make interesting poses that communicate weight and movement, the things that make people say your character feels ALIVE, like they really EXIST in a space... it’s because I started to think of poses this way. imagining streams of energy bouncing through the body, flowing down the limbs and out through the fingers. this is why hands are so important to me, cause they’re where the kinetic energy of the pose ultimately ends up. I talk about it when drawing the torso and arms and legs, but an interesting drawing has a bounce back and forth between opposites: for every curve, an opposing straight line, alternating back and forth down the entire body. if you’re sensitive to the energy of the pose, then even very simple poses will be interesting to look at.
anyway, with regards to hands, I imagine the energy getting sort of cinched in as it passes through the wrist, and then emanating out through the fingertips. I hope my drawing at least SORT of communicates this imagery. it makes sense because that’s BASically how the bones in the hand are anyway. and then the right side of the image above is just demonstrating some highly simplified gestures. see how the fingers fan out and curl in, rarely parallel to eachother. when you’re figuring out the pose, using a line to stand in for the row of knuckles is super valuable.

aaand finally, here’s two hands where I intentionally neglected correct anatomy and proportion because I felt it worked better for the style of the whole drawing. Left side: since this is a really simple and cartoonish style, I was thinking back to kids’ and shoujo manga I have read where the style was very solid and distinctive, but definitely NOT overly concerned with correct anatomy, or even really drawing hands, uh, “well” at all. to me, that sort of approach has a Look that I like to invoke sometimes, since for years I felt like I learned a bunch of anatomy and proportion and drawing from life actually in detriment to the liveliness and appealness of my drawings. this hand is mushy and makes very little sense, but it turned out as intended. Right side: sometimes I like to pretend fingers only have 2 bones in them, cause i am a Queen and i do what i want
and there you go. I hope that helped, like, at all? Look at real hands and photos of hands and hands in motion, but also look at drawn hands as well. find what you like, and work towards expressing that yourself. and remember the hand is part of the whole drawing. not only in the art style like I’d been talking about, but because the angle and placement of the hand is reflected in the angles of the arm, which in turn reflects on the angles of the shoulder, which affects the whole torso, etc etc etc. and the techniques you can use to understand and draw the rest of the body, works on hands too. as you improve everything else, your hands will improve as well.

im still kinda figuring out what i want but i wanna lean into like... a round gothic ouji cowboy look for lucid which is a wonderful phrase! u can sorta see it in that doodle to the side but i decided to opt for suspenders instead of a vest, it feels better. the huge sleeves are part of the button up though. whether they stay open n flare out or i go for the poofy look im considering is up in the air lol. the cowboy hat isnt though that stays

the ages/timeline are all kinda mixed around (cuz like wm and freud are here but so is the resistance & neinheart and all. dw abt it) and i wanna make lucid younger than i had her in the first iteration of ssau. so maybe a little older than she was in her lachelein flashbacks, so like...... [the elven equivalent of] 14? they might be like half elves and age like humans til theyre adults but can you fucking imagine being a preteen for 30 goddamn years omg
u can see tentative shape notes on the side, also i did in fact forget that magnus exists and that i should include him somehow. hhhhh
as for older concept art... theres more than i thought!!

fairly sure this is what i sent someone as a ref sheet for a commission. which is def serviceable but like lmfao. i honestly dont think ill change much aside from the headband and making the collar more distinctive? maybe make the shirt itself a lil more interesting, but honestly keeping it kinda plain may be best practice

Is it true that once one studied the human anatomy enough they are able to draw whatever pose, even without reference? Also how long did it take you to master anatomy and drawing mostly without reference. (Correct me if I’m wrong but you once said that you barely use reference)
To be clear; I have not mastered anatomy, I just know enough to stylize without leaving the question of where would the internal organs go?? I still mess up quite a bit with joints, etc.😂
All and all I studied anatomy on and off for about 6 months before I felt comfortable enough to stylize. Only time I don’t use refs is for quick pieces. If I’m doing comms or more in-depth, I use references. If that means I google or have to take pictures of myself or friends in ridiculous poses, I do lol

Rose’s Ref sheet. This is gonna be a long post bc I actually have her story ready right here lol. It’s not the best but here it is. Sara Drisskle was a normal 16 year old, well, normal was an open term, she supposed. PTSD from years of unintentional neglect and emotional abuse from a mother unfit to care for her had taken its toll in making her a little less “normal” than most kids. But still, she was quiet, attentive in class, wore mostly black and kept to herself, so most people left her alone. Exactly how she liked it. There was one girl who could never quite give it up though, constantly picking on her and trying to mess with her, get her to lash out or snap. But most people had low tolerance for that. “Leave her alone, she's not doing anything” “This is getting old, Amy” “Just leave her be, no one thinks you're funny anymore” Needless to say, Amy didn't like her much, but Sara didn't care a whole lot. She was content on her own. Alone. Well, mostly alone anyway. Cindy was there. She was always there Cindy was always so clingy, always finding a way to make Sara smile, or laugh. Always finding some way to make her happy. But she never noticed that man in the trees. The tall man who Cindy swore was Sara’s overactive imagination. But Sara swore that man was there He was always there Cindy and Sara spent every waking moment together, always together. Sara wanted to go out for food? Cindy would go along. Cindy wanted to go shopping, she’d beg Sara to go with her. She desperately wanted to stay by Sara’s side no matter what. Sometimes Cindy tried to get her way, she got cocky and tried to force Sara to do everything her way. But then Sara would say those fateful words “Well, if you don't like what I'm doing, you don't have to do it with me” And Cindy would come crawling back, begging for Sara to stay with her, to be her friend again, begging and begging and begging. More than once she’d broken down in tears. What type of friend would Sara be to tell her no? Of course, once Cindy was comfortable again everything would start all over. She’d make Sara smile, make her laugh, talk to everyone in class and out of it, she’d go back to being that ideal friend who confused everyone with her choice in friends, or rather, friend. And then she'd begin having episodes again, zoning out, staring at blank walls, shutting down all emotions and acting out violently. Every time Sara would try, and succeed, to get away, but Cindy would come back. Sara knew she should just report Cindy, go to the police or just stop being her friend altogether, but then her Cindy would come back. She'd be back to her laughing, happy self that never failed to cheer Sara up. She’d be back to the ideal friend everyone loved, she’d be back to being that lone light in Sara’s traumatized life. The light she needed in her life. To distract her from the past, from the future, from the feeling of her stomach sinking, her mind breaking, and from the tall man that always watched her. So Sara would let her stay. A desperate bid to be happy. It never lasted long, but she always came back. She would always come back “Why are you running, Sara?” Cindy’s sugary sweet voice cut through the air like a blade, chilling Sara to her bones as she backed up against the wall. Eyes trained on the rusty shears held in Cindy's hands “aren't we having fun?” Cindy lunged at Sara, but she was to scared to move, too frozen to get away, her eye stared at Cindy’s blank face as she held the now bloody shears, Sara's left eye hanging from them. Searing pain tore through Her head, but she was unable to move as Cindy walked away, muttering something to herself and tapping her fingers. That's how Sara's parents found her. Her mother screamed. Shut up you fat cow Sara's mind raced back and forth How dare you pretend you know me she thought bitterly how dare you pretend you care Sara's eye went from side to side, desperately searching for a way out she's going to hurt me there was no time. she's going to hurt me again she was closing in. Run run run but now her mother had her fat, disgusting fingers on her, her horrible voice that made Sara want to hurl screaming for help. In the ER Sara got bandaged up, but refused to say how this had happened. “Are you ok, Sara?” Her dad asked “Fuck you” she had retorted. He blamed it on the pain medication, that might have been part of it, yeah, but right now Sara had half a mind to kill anyone who dared to get close. She couldn't trust anyone, they would only kill her, they were here to finish the job. “Sara, sweetie, let's get you to your room” one second, her mother was closing in, coming to hurt her, but her eye landed on the metal bat her father kept by the door ‘for if you ever get a boyfriend’ he had said. Sara's hand landed on the bat and before she had time to even think her hand closed around the handle and she swung, hitting her mother in the head, she swung again and again and again and again until her mother's head was a bloody pulp on the ground. Sara’s breath came in raspy gasps as she continued to pointlessly hit the red, sloppy looking lump. No time she thought there's no time there was no time for this, if she was down, she was down. They were going to come back for her, kill her for killing one of their assassins, he was watching he was there. She knew it, she could feel it. She ran to the room her father was in, her eyes laid briefly on the picture frame on the desk. She took a swing from behind him, cracking the back of his skull, he fell forward, colliding with the desk. Blood ran down his forehead. She beat and mashed the head again, and again, and again, making sure he wouldn't get up. Finally she stood up properly. They were dead She breathed heavily, gasping as adrenaline pumped They were dead The picture frame was broken They were dead? The glass of the picture was cracked They were dead A crack ran over Sara’s now distorted face They were dead Sara braced herself for someone to come from behind her, she looked outside, no one, she looked around the house, no one. She was alone. She ran her fingers over the ornate picture frames, and dragged her thumb over the pictures of her parents' faces. pictures that could never be taken again. Because they were dead. As time progressed over the course of a few weeks, the smell of rotting flesh coming from her parents corpses, of which she had not moved, began to fill the house. She had brought in flowers from the garden and used her parents credit cards to even buy them from the store when they'd run out to combat the stench. It only worked so much, but now that the house looked like a greenhouse, at least that was some form of distraction. She knew she should feel sad or guilty, but she only felt numb, she waited for the adrenaline to go down, but even when it did she still felt numb. She'd have to wait for the guilt to set it. In an act of desperation to rid the place of the stench she had cover the bodies in flowers. They were pretty, like flowerbeds. They covered up the smell some, too. The school was under the impression that Sara was sick, which was not untrue, but she could only send emails posing as her parents so long before someone would inevitably check in on her. So she did the only thing she could do, and returned to school. She hadn't seen Cindy in a while anyway. She was looking forward to having a little chat about what had transpired between them a few weeks prior. So she returned. She got some questions on where she had been, her answer remained constant “just very sick”, if you're going to lie, you may as well keep your story straight. So that's what she did, she couldn't shake the impending feeling of doom that rose from her gut to her chest when those familiar arms wrapped around her, though. “Sara!” Cindy's voice came like razor blades to her ears, mixed with rubbing sweet sugar into the wounds “I was wondering where you were!” Sara gave the same answer as always, she was about to retreat home for lunch before seeing the familiar head of long brown hair sweep through the halls. Not any greeting, not even any kind of acknowledgement. Just a blank face. Whatever possessed Sara to follow her could be damned to hell for all Sara cared, as she followed Cindy into the supply closet. Cindy's slim fingers wrapped around the edges of the ladder in the corner as she slowly pulled it over to rest under the opening in the ceiling, still not acknowledging Sara, despite clearly being able to see her. She climbed the ladder, pushed up on the trapdoor, and pulled herself through. Onto the roof. The cold air assisted Sara’s face as she dragged herself through as well, standing up and walking over to where Cindy stood, teetering on the edge of a 3 story drop. back facing Sara as she approached closer. “I knew you would come” Cindy spoke, her voice was emotionless as ever. “Don't you see?” She turned her head and torso to face Sara from over her shoulder, with her feet unmoving as she teetered more dangerously, her green eyes wide and pupils thin. “He's coming to kill me, I got away, so he's going to kill me” “Who are you talking about?” Sara asked, though she had a feeling she already knew. “You know who, you see him too.” Cindy didn't look at her, but seemed she could see if Sara were to run “he watches you, I escaped so I thought, if I stayed close to you, you would protect me” she finally looked at Sara, eyes wide and crazed as she seemed to stare at nothing and everything at the same time. “He doesn't want to take you for himself, so I was sure you’d protect me” “So you were using me, is that what you mean?” Sara asked, Cindy stared blankly, it was then that Sara noticed the crowbar that Cindy now clutched in her hands, Sara wasn’t scared anymore, not really, if she was about to die, might as well take one more person Down with her. Cindy lunged at her, Sara dodging out of the way and trying to run past her, she stopped, catching her balance on the edge of the roof. Turning around she saw Cindy spun around and lunge at her again,catching her fists in her hands Sara pushed back, no strategy could get her out of this one, it was a battle of pure strength and Sara was rapidly losing. Suddenly, Sara felt herself falling, her right hand tightened on the fists that pushed her and her left reached out to try and grab something, meeting the fabric that made up Cindy’s shirt. She gripped on, hoping that Cindy, through whatever trance she was in, would catch her balance and not let her fall, she held her breath. And a feeling of weightlessness came over her in the brief moment that she was falling, clutching onto Cindy, somehow their position was turned around and Sara felt the cold air hitting her face, she was falling, then, she heard a sickening crunch and felt pain shoot through her as she fell on top of the broken body that used to belong to her friend. With that, it was all over. She was bound to die, surely, she felt her consciousness leave her body and when she woke up, she was in a dull hospital room. She had to get out, of was only a matter of time before they found out that she was the one who killed her parents, strangely, the guilt still hadn’t set in. Was that cause to worry? Probably not. The fiery rage that built up inside her all these years had finally been released on three of the closest people in her life, she was in the clear, or at least, she would be once she got out of this place. There was no cause to panic. No need to be scared. Not even the tall man who continued to watch her. He was still there after all He would always be there.

Decided to compile these asks to show my process with a drawing, hopefully it's helpful. Gonna number and explain these pics 1-8, going left to right, cause mobiles butt (warning long post) (1) I usually dont go into a drawing with a pose in mind already, but once i draw the head, i decide on how i want the body placed (2) After that i mess around on what i want the limbs to be doing, it's always good to make each one do something different, even slighty. If you want poses to pop more keep both sides of the drawing asymetrical (3) Once i figure out where i want the limbs put i make em thicc. Where you put the hands and feet are important too (hand could be clentched, opened, doing peace sign, ect. Feet angles can change a lot too) (4) Once i get an idea on how the drawing is shaping up i decide on a face. Expression can be divided by the eyes, brows, and mouth. Mix and match it to see what sticks with you (i also dont recommend coloring rn, like i what i did with the eyes and nose there. We're still gonna erase some stuff later) (5) Then i put the clothes on him, dudes naked. I press slightly harder on my pen here so the lines for the clothes take more priority, you can barely notice the sketch under it now. Make sure the clothes go around the pose you make so you get an idea on how everything is positioned (6) Now everythings in place, i press harder on my pencil again, letting all the lines i want take priority. So far nothing in this drawing has been erased, but you can barely see the sketch under it anymore. But we need to tidy up (7) The reason you wanna draw lightly at first is to erase the sketch lines later. So just start erasing gently. Dont worry about accidentally erasing parts you wanted to keep, you can just redraw it later. (8) Aaaaand it's finished. I cleaned up the lines and added some finishing touhes with coloring the outfit and such. Some extra tips: - If the pose is the main focus of your drawing, try and make sure it has a nice silhouette. A good pose is something you can identify just with it's figure. You dont always have to do this but it's something to keep in mind sometimes. I think back to almost all the recent smash bros and pokemon trainer model art as example. A lot of those characters really pop there. - Learn some basic anatomy. Whether for a human, animal, or whatever, knowing how your drawing is shaped gives you more room to mess with poses. You'll also be able to draw them faster in the long run too - Exaggerate more, especially if your drawings are on the more cartoony side. Always try and find ways to curve and bend your character around, if that makes sense. - Look at refs. If you see a piece of art you like, really try and pin point parts you like about it, and impliment it in your own art. Maybe you like how they draw a cloths wrinkles, or the hair, or arm angle, ect. Even look at the mirror if you need specific angles if you need to. Its amazing how much of the little details go a long way. - Constantly try out different poses. It's my secret to drawing filbert so much, just draw him doing something different everytime lol. But always try and learn something new. Draw em sitting down, leaning on a table, just anything that pushes you into draw them in different way. And again use refs if you need them. So anyway i hope this can help some of you, this may not work with every art style out there but hopefully it can give sone insight. And @ryodarocker give yourself some credit, you've come a long way with your art! You should be proud of all the progress you made, and good luck~

Reaallly long art rant
Lately, the past 4 months or so, ive felt v drained inspirationaly. This is the longest ive ever had art block. So, whenever i finish a drawing i have this satisfaction, this high, it makes me feel so good. That when i felt like i wouldn't finish it, that i didnt have the energy to, i did. I also feel like tumblr is a big part of my block. Dw im not leaving of course lol, im just ranting. But yeah, ive been on here SO much and i hate that i am but i AM. Its like an addiction. Plus all my friendos are on here so i dont just wanna take a leave.
Another big part of my block is sorta myself? My personality ig u could say. And what i mean by that is i can never say no to anyone. It makes me feel terrible. The thing i can never say no to is art requests. I get them so much from my extended family. And thats another part of the block, family.
Theyre always askin me to draw stuff when im like "er not rn....im uh on this *points down at paper* rn. Maybe next time..?" Thays my attempts at saying no. But noooo of course my cousins are like "no no no just draw me rn ok u can do that drawing some other time ive been begging u to draw me forever!" BOTH of my cousins are always bugging me nonstop to draw them. I hate it just leave me the fuck alone i just finally got to another drawing and u won't even let me finish it go fuck off. But i of course dont say that. I start immediately on one cousins sketch while he watches me (tjis was on ny's) Now im doing the other ones sketch rn. Only because his birthday is today and this is his gift. Also because when we go to see them today, and i dont have it done he'll make me feel horrible. And since i dont have my other cousins sketch done he'll do the same. (I dont have the ref photo so i cant finish it. My bro has it and refuses to send it to me.) Another thing is they cant respect how i do my art and my art style. They want all the art i draw in realistic color whereas i only do traditional b&w shadding. And my other extended family is always trying to get me to draw them live. Like, they pose and i draw them. I CAN'T do that. It takes me HOURS to draw. Plus ik they'll be like hurry up! And get tired after 2 mins. Plus idk, thats awkward for me. Id rather just have a pic. Boom. Simple. But THEY wont understand that.
Theres alot more that theyve done but I'll stop there.
And sometimes im in a way putting this block on myself? I hold these free giveaway stuff then i ask ppl if they'd like a request or i accept requests or an art trade or i say im gonna draw this for somepne for this holiday or smtn. I do it for fun and it makes ppl happy. And idm doing it. But it builds up. More. And more. And more. To the point where im feeling v v v overwhelmed with stuff im supposed to draw for ppl. And i get v behind on everything. And i cant even enjoy when i finally finish a drawing. Im like welp, im v late on all these, onto the next. Its not a good feeling. And sometimes whenever im like "i do so many drawings for OTHER ppl, i need to do one for MYSELF like i used to" so i try. But then i have no idea what to draw. And then all i can think of is what im supposed to be drawing for other ppl. Then it makes me feel like im being selfish by trying to draw for myself. To try to distract myself i go on tumblr. But then im just procrastinating. And i usually just end up not drawing anything. But when i do its just requests or stuff for other ppl. And i feel i dont upload art much anymore on tumblr so i feel the need to get something out there. And when i do it doesnt get too much notice. So i feel more deflated. Just a repeating cycle. Over. And over and over.
And since its for other ppl i feel i gotta make it perfect.
I just wish i drew as much as i used to without a care. I wish i COULD do that. But im in a huge mess and the only way to get out of it is to finish all the drawings. Then start fresh. It feels I'll never get to that tho.
Alot of the time i just think about giving up on art. Alot. Cause its not so enjoyable anymore as it used to.
I wont tho cause it IS what makes me the most happy in the world. Im mesmerized by it. Its what i want to do when im older. I dont wanna throw all that away. Without it id be basically nothing
For now, I'll sort thru (try to anyway) the mess i got myself into and try to kill the damn block. And try to draw for myself sometimes too.

Let’s see if I got 57 facts in me, lol.
My car, Sheila, is a stick shift. I’ve been dirving stick since I was 19. My dad taught me and I got it down within a day. The hardest part is stopping/going on a hill.
My favorite color is blue, but I love the darker shades of blue. They speak to me. (And they also taste good no matter what it is).
I’m 30, but I look half my age. At least according to everybody. It’s a curse. And don’t give me that, “but that’s good~”. 
I won a Xbox One X from Taco Bell last year. I’m just as surprised as you are. I’m gonna try and see if I can win the white one this year, lol.
My Steam queue and game queue in general? It’s outrageous. 
I served in the military (Air Force). I fixed radio equipment and antennas. 
For almost 3 years because I have really bad shins.
I lived in Germany when I was 2months - 4 years old. I don’t remember any of it, but we have a lot of pictures.
I got kicked out of a major university marching band because I was frustrated with a lot of things and I may have made a F-bomb laced post. (And I talked to the higher ups about stuff but they didn’t listen/did nothing about it). Someone snitched on me; still don’t know who did it. This was back when FB was college-only.
I played the clarinet from 6th grade up until that point. Should have taken up saxophone if I’m gonna be honest.
And then like a semester later, I flunked out. 
When I make OCs, I put a lot of thought into them.
I had a tough love approach to making them, but I'm way gentler now. Mostly.
I tend to make them in pairs? Or eventually they end up being together, lol. I think one pair is married?? But they all tend to have old married couple traits, I think. They *clearly* love each other.
I would make them in TS4, but I forgot what they look like... 😟
I'm 5'0.
I powerlift! Which is *very* different from Olympic Weightlifting! And bodybuilding is completely unrelated to both!
I don't look the part though. Powerlifting brings all sorts of body types.
I've been competing in the 84kg weight class for 3 years, and counting.
I've won 1 1st place, and 3 2nd place medals.
My total right now is about 610lbs for all three lifts. I've got a ways to go to start competing on regionals/nationals.
I have a meet on Saturday and I'm super nervous about it, lol.
I'm single, not sure how to mingle, and at this point... kinda don't want to?
Never really been in a relationship; some times I'm alright with this other times I'm cursing the universe.
I'm demisexual, or, somewhere on the ace spectrum. Demi fits me the most currently. (What's up my fellow aces 🖐)

I *do* have a type. Well, types, but I do love characters that are strong as hell, but also really sweet??? Like they can fuck you up, but also loves baby cats. A "bad boy" but a sweet boy.
Physically?? Oof. I have a tag on my main that's like my jam, aesthetic wise. They're so handsome. But my fav body type is actually the "lumberjack' build. I like a little beef ~_~
I started making poses because a lot of poses didn't fit my boys/very slim pickings and hardly nothing spicy wise, and I could never find anything super specific that I wanted.
I pretty much learned on my own through a LOT of practice with the Pose Helper. There was like one tutorial using the pose helper, and that was it. Lots of trial and error. If you really want to go through it, go through my ts4 pose wip tag. Like alllll the way back. It was a rocky start.
I do the NSFW/spicy poses in cycles. Basically, when the mood strikes me. I'm not sure what theme I'm gonna go with for the next one though. I've been wanting to do some stripper poses, but also light bondage or something. Hmm...🤔
I do enjoy making them, but 😳
My favorite pose set is probably Bare Knuckle because, at the time, the most complex thing I made and I'm super proud of it. The idea of fighting a literal demon just... came up lol. I am considering doing another Muay Thai centered pose set, but pic refs are hard to come by. The one I used for BK deactivated :(
I use a lot of refs. It's very okay to use refs! Sometimes I have to adjust them to accommodate male frames.
I have a weighted blanket and it's fantastic and if you're able to get one, I SUPER recommend it.
I was born 2 weeks late. Yeah, lol. Sorry, mom.
I have an older half brother. He's out there doing... stuff.
I have 4 nephews. That I know of.
Up until last year, I was the only granddaughter of my grandma. Now I'm the oldest!
I am older than my uncle by 4/5 years. (He was a late/surprise baby lol)
I have a bad habit of making faces. I am *very* expressive. Basically, I'm a walking reaction gif, lol. And I have gotten in trouble when I was younger.
I know how to read maps. Like actual road maps, and I can navigate by sight too. When I was younger, my dad gave me the role on long trips to help me read and know geography. I don't get lost.
I'm pretty hungry right now...
I used to play DDR. Like, an absurd amount of it, allll the way back when Max2/Extreme came out. Now? I play when I can.
Not as good as I used to be, stamina wise, but I still get ridiculously high grades/marksbn on songs. The highest difficulty rating I was at when I peaked was 16s. That's out of a 20 scale. Now? I'm lucky to clear a 13/14. There's a HUGE skill difference.
I have trouble verbalizing things in general. When I'm writing/typing, I'm fine. But speaking?? Forget it.
I am a naturally quiet person, which tends to unnerve a lot of people? I just don't have much to say on a lot of things.
People tell me some wild shit, but uh, I forget because I have a shitty memory and attention span.
Never been in a fight, but I did punch this bully that was messing with me back in kindergarten right in the stomach. Just dropped him. My dad taught me :>
I've been on Tumblr for a LONG ass time... since 2010. I've seen shit. This blog is I think 6 years old? But only 3ish years since it became a simblr, hence the name. It was for my writings at first but ~nobody came~.
I really do love making poses, yall. Even on days where I'm feeling crummy, I try and do one pose. Don't matter what it is.
Every time I get a message saying that my posts/cc brightens someone's day, it makes my whole damn week. Thank you for nice words. I still have an anon message that was sent months ago, saying they really love John and Brian's relationship with each other, and depicting what love is. Thank you, anon 😭😭😭

I’ve spent an obscene amount of time playing Overwatch so I have many thoughts on this Neither Diya nor Noelle have ever played a first person shooter before, but Noelle studies many strategy guides and videos to prepare beforehand.
Following her research, Noelle chooses Symmetra after memorizing the optimal turret and teleporter/shield matrix placements for each map. Symmetra is a good hero for inexperienced players because she doesn’t require aiming skills, but secretly, Noelle likes her because she is focused and serious. She’s scandalized by her default outfit, but can’t afford to get the Vishkar/Architect skins
Diya sees the dog helmet on Pharah’s Anubis skin and instantly unlocks it, automatically setting her as a Pharah main. Diya is the type to happily choose Pokemon based on cuteness instead of practicality, so this is typical Diya

Min ONLY plays these 4 attack heroes, in this order of preference: 
Reaper (cool and edgy)
Genji (sword is a long knife. only chosen if the above is taken)
McCree (cool. only chosen if the above is taken)
Soldier 76 (a soldier, cool. only chosen if the above is taken)
She’s mechanically very skilled, but in her 100+ hours in game she’s never even ONCE selected a tank, defense, or support hero, not even in skirmish or training, not even when she’s the last one to choose and there’s no healer. Literally 0 minutes on her career stats. 
Akarsha is an ironic Torb main and also a useless Sombra. During their first game together:
Akarsha, selecting Sombra: (affectionately) it's me
Noelle: How is that one you?
In spawn, Noelle can see Akarsha as Sombra with the Battletag “RedFart”
Sombra: (smugly) Hack the PLANET. 
Sombra: (annoyingly) Miss me? 
Noelle: .......... (the game hasn’t even begun yet and she’s already seething)  
Diya manages to get a triple kill with concussion blast through sheer luck before accidentally killing herself with her own rocket. Min constantly spams “I need healing!” in impossible to heal locations, or when she's already being healed but doesn't notice. Whenever she dies she goes “res me”. Akarsha is nowhere to be found. In the kill feed, Diya has managed to accidentally kill herself again with Rocket Barrage. Noelle switches to Mercy and Min blames her for “not healing fast enough”. Eventually, infuriated, Noelle just screams into the voice chat “FINE! DIE ALONE, YOU FOOLS!!!!” and lets her teammates at critical health perish at her feet 
the match ends in defeat but Diya got POTG for her triple kill
Noelle: Akarsha, what were you doing this last match?
Akarsha: Turned invisible
Noelle: YOU'RE NOT ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING WHILE INVISIBLE
Akarsha: There should be a card for “time spent invisible”

Only Min and Akarsha consider themselves gamers. Diya and Noelle will play Mario Kart at other people’s houses but don’t regularly play games Akarsha: besides DS games like Ace Attorney, she’s particularly addicted to MapleStory
Min: plays more console+pc games, likes CoD and Team Fortress 2

Sakura, Yuki, and Akarsha have all watched magical girl shows at some point. Akarsha’s favorite one is Madoka Magica.
Akarsha likes a lot of Ace Attorney characters and her favorite is Phoenix, she finds him relatable. However, if you ask her, she will answer “Spark Bruschel” (below)

She dreads it starting from the night before the presentation and have trouble falling asleep from anxiety. As the time to present approaches she’ll get more and more nervous and sweaty to the point that she won't have an appetite and her stomach hurts
As she's presenting, if she has note cards or a powerpoint to read off of, she stares at that the whole time and reads at lightning speed. Diya has to write down what she's going to say word for word, she can't just put chunks and phrases on note cards because she wont be able to construct a coherent sentence. her life flashes before her eyes whenever she stutters or messes up a sentence
If she doesn't have anything to read off of, she stares at inanimate objects instead of the audience, completely blanks out, and sometimes when she can't recover from that she panics and tries to end the presentation prematurely by suddenly going back to her desk. just bad all around

Noelle has good posture, the others are all pretty eh and slouch sometimes. In particular, Diya slouches a lot when she’s with Noelle because Noelle was taller than her in elementary school and Diya still isn’t used to the fact that she outgrew her. 
It’s similar to how Min’s brain actually can’t fully process that she’s way shorter than Diya. When confronted directly with the fact Min will acknowledge it, but it hasn’t really sunk in, at all. Diya was only a little bit taller when they were kids, so in her gut that’s how it’ll always be.  I experience this with my childhood friends too LOL I still instinctively feel like I’m taller than my friend who’s now like 5′8″ (I’m 5′2″)

I’m really glad to hear this, I sometimes wonder “should I have made them older?” but this is ultimately why I made them the age they are! I think a lot of people in their 20s instinctively feel 14 is too young because they’ve forgotten what they themselves were like at 14. I kept journals so I have evidence haha
