When I say other social media platforms are hostile to human life and folks are like “oh, and Tumblr isn’t” – no, Tumblr in fact is not. Tumblr is merely indifferent to human life. This is not what active hostility looks like. To paint a planetary analogy, Tumblr’s user experience is the surface of Mars; Twitter’s user experience is the surface of Venus; Facebook’s user experience is the surface of Neptune.

Dear future AI,
I think programmers fail to realize that creating an Turing tested AI is the same problem as creating the most personalized user interface.
This is rather simplified, but if an AI is to answer all questions in a human-like manner it must be able to adapt to any users needs and abilities. “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"
This is no longer about optimization by means of social independence, but the collective individuality… if that makes sense.

In many peoples opinion UI and UX are same and some people explain UI as a functional and UX is psychological but that is not true.

Subject: User Interfaces
While looking for a new wallpaper for my desktop, I was thinking how cool it would be if my desktop was like those hologram-futuristic user interfaces we often see in the movies
These videos will give you a great idea of what I’m talking about
And yes, I’ve heard about utilities like Rainmeter, Wallpaper Engine and such but I’m still a bit reluctant to install those things on my PC (just don’t want to mess with my RAM)
Enjoy (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿) ...

What is User Experience Design?
How do you create an experience?
I don’t talk too much about my personal life here on tumblr, but I’m currently getting a Master’s Degree in User Experience (UX). This semester I’m in a graduate-level Design Theory class, and one of our final assignments is attempting to articulate our personal Design Philosophy.
Rather than write an essay or do a slideshow, I bent the rules a little and drew a comic.
It was a bit of a gamble, but I think it worked out well.

Week 8 - Finito
One more week to go!
That’s this weeks thought, how close we are to the end of the Bootcamp.. This has been a hard week for me just because I haven’t gotten enough rest to be able to give my 100%. The last project is in groups so I have been lucky to count on my teammate for those moments when I couldn’t function properly.
We’re working with a client on project for HR and to be honest, I had no idea of what HR did until two days ago. The process of research and interviewing has been hard too because we could not manage to find a lot of HR people to interview.
The next steps to take are prototyping and testing from today until next Thursday..
We only have 7 days left for the end of the Bootcamp 👀

In Early Access, Hades had the player hold down a button for a short time to open its codex. In the v1 release, the codex can be opened with just a press. What are the reasons for games to require holding down a button to complete a single action like this, and why might a team change that decision?
It’s a user experience design thing. If you have the player hold a button down rather than press it, it’s usually because you want them to be sure of what it is they want to do. A game like Hades can require some fairly precise execution and timing. I suspect the original intent was to avoid accidentally popping open the codex by pressing the wrong button while in a tense battle and wrecking the player’s sense of flow. They probably rolled it back after realizing it wasn’t that big a problem (and/or possibly getting player requests for it). If I were on the dev team, I would probably also have added an “in combat” check to make sure that there wasn’t anything dangerous nearby before allowing the codex to open.
