Not to kick a man down while he is already old - and I’m not saying I’m perfect at pottery or nothin - but Korn needs to work more on his pot cause that bitch was lumpy as fuck
Hello. I was wondering if you wouldnt mind giving instructions/tutorials on how to adjust the gifs in your Pornographer series? Especially Mood Indigo since it has a lot of dim lighted scenes. I really like your adjustment pallete. Thank you so much for your time
My coloring tutorials can be found here and here!
Sorry for how late this response is. I have not had the time or energy to make anything. I’m in a helluva slump right now.
Dark blue shows like Mood Indigo are super inconsistent and hard to color. They require using the eye drops in curves to get them brighter and easier to color.
I will be showing how to make this:
The first thing I usually do with something so dark is I use the white and black dropper in curves. With the white dropper (the third one in the column), I select one of the brighter points of the image and that helps brighten it up and it adjusts colors along with it. The black dropper (the top one), I use to select shadows. Sometimes the white dropper lightens up shadows and makes it grainy so I usually try to keep the quality of the scene by maintaining the shadows.
Like presented earlier, this is what we first have:
Here is what we have after applying the droppers in curves:
2. Color Balance
Here with color balance we can add some more tone to their skin and really work to make it look more natural than blue. These settings are not definitive for giffing this show BUT they are in the general range for what I use for this show. I really lean into the red and yellow for the most part because that usually counteracts the blue and adds more color in it.
3. Selective Colors
With selective color, I really like to go in and make minor adjustments. Add a little more color and/or reduce some colors and bump up the neutral to get it a bit lighter.
Levels is my favorite part. Now we can lighten it up to the point where we can see! How about that @ Mood Indigo? Because of how dark this show is, I still have to maintain how dark the shadows are in order to keep it from being grainy.
5.Selective Color (Again)
Once again, just minor adjustments to the colors now that we have lightened the gif.
6. Curves (Again)
I do not use the eye dropping for this step. Here I brighten the gif up just a little more and then darken it more to create a greater contrast and soften up the gif!
