Fresh Thoughts Chapter 57

After reading spoilers on twitter (no spoilers here though^^)

The way Yoneda uses bl stereotypes as a tool while also rejecting some aspects of the genre is so interesting to read. In most bl I've read, sex is seen as the epitome of love - the culmination of two characters' pining and is seen as the end goal that suddenly fixes everything. The dick and brain are one and suddenly everything magically makes sense. But in Saezuru, Yoneda uses sex to unravel the characters while twisting them up even more-so. I believe that sex has never been and will never be the answer for Doumeki or Yashiro, and I think that is what she’s getting at. That is the point of all these sexual encounters that yield no real progress. You need more than three words and some head, ding dongs!

Doumeki thinks that all he has to do is give Yashiro passionate and gentle sex to make him realize that he loves him and imo he has it all wrong. It’s almost like Doumeki doesn’t truly hear Yashiro when he speaks. There's a pause and then a kiss or a continuing of sex as we've seen. I really wish he would’ve probed even further with the questioning instead of giving into desire and kissing Y. To me, it looked like Y was ready to talk more or hear what Doumeki had to say in response to his ‘confession.’

I don’t think D realizes that this is about Y and his view of himself. It doesn’t matter if Doumeki treats him kindly and calls him beautiful. Every person in Yashiro’s life has had an agenda against him or a plan to use him for something (nana excluded). There are always, always strings attached and his heart cannot accept anyone having no intention at all, except to love him purely. I do think D is on the right track though, making Yashiro chase him in a way. Not giving anything away as to make Y either trust his intentions or distrust him, Y needs to choose for himself.

It’s so interesting how the relationship between the two of them is outwardly focused on the physical aspect (which is definitely important), but the story is about the hearts of men. Twisted and broken men. Men with baggage and secrets and deep wounds. Men who seem to be the upmost composed but in reality, the soft touch of a feather can send their entire fortress crashing down. That's what we have here.

Yashiro’s coping mechanism protects him but is also the cause of his continuous pain. Saezuru is about choosing the right pain, the pain that will numb you and have you walk through life as a ghost, or the excruciating discomfort in accepting a foreign act of kindness that you know will save you. And for Yashiro, being saved means there was something wrong done to him in the first place - which I don't think he completely realizes yet. This would mean everything he ever told himself was a lie, and that he deserved none of the cruelty. The truth that would destroy him the most if he truly chose and accepted kindness, is that he is a good person and that he deserves to love himself and to be loved. With Doumeki, this has always been Yashiro’s battle.

Vile actions accompanied by cursed words are what has held Y back all his life from the moment he was raped by his stepfather and throughout the continued abuse, even up to the most recent events post-timeskip. And I think the exact opposite is needed from both sides to finally free both of them from their mental prisons. They just need to hold out and to talk to each other for more than five minutes. I hope they'll get there soon.

Lastly, I'm sure it wasn't her intention to make such an impactful story that subverts a genre and goes against the grain - in a wonderful way. I saw something another person posted that said this story and these characters are just a result of good storytelling and great care and I could not agree more.

I haven't posted anything of actual substance in a while (stupid work is stopping me from my true passion - alas!). These are some messy thoughts; I can't wait to read the actual chapter for true understanding! I need to analyze every pen stroke, blush, and body placement. I just had to get this out of my head, now back to my essay that's due at 11:59 *sobs*

Hi again, thank you guys so much for the amazing support on my last post!! And I hope this post also lives up to your guy's expectations.

Word Count: 2.1k (and somehow 11k characters?! TuT)

-----Younger Armin ( Bowl Cut ) -----

Armin wasn't exactly the most social type back then, so I imagine for you two to get close enough to date you must have spent quite a bit of time together.

I can think of a few ways you two may have met and gotten close. Maybe you guys sat next to each other in classes, were sparring partners, or maybe you were there for Armin all the times Mikasa and Eren seemed to have forgotten he was also a part of their friend group.

It had been just a few minutes after lights out when Sasha shook me out of bed and yelled whispered for me to grab my coat and follow her. By the time we were out of the cabin a few of the other girls had gotten up and were grabbing a few items. Sasha led our small group until we reached a clearing in the forest, a good distance from the bases. "Sasha, what's all this?" I asked her as the rest of our group ran over to their own friends. "It's a party, Duh." She said looking at me with a goofy smile until Connie yelled for her to come help him roll a joint. I watched her run off and then made my way to a group of my classmates sitting in a circle. Jean, Ymir, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin Arlet all sat around a small bonfire. Spewing out a few 'hey's and 'hello's before claiming a seat in the circle. Jean and Ymir were in some argument over brunettes or blondes being cuter, and next to them Eren sat trying to carve a spoon out of a small log. Mikasa and Armin were talking about something I couldn't really make out over the sound of the fire crackling and Jean and Ymir arguing. As I watched the fire crackle all I had on my mind was why the hell Sasha had brought me along. It's not like I'm antisocial but I hadn't really established many close friends and the ones I had were human meatballs now. So a party wasn't the most comfortable place to hang out. Before I could continue my thoughts I got distracted by Mikasa getting up pretty abruptly and running after Eren who had somehow broken the log he was carving and wanted to look for a new one. Doubt we'd see them again tonight. My eyes flicked over to Armin and as we looked at each other, a mirror of slight shock reflected on both our faces. Before either pf us could look away I burst into laughter at Mikasa's weird behavior and Armin just stared at me even more confused than before. "I'm sorry it's just I never see anyone so serious act like that, I'm not trying to be rude she just catches me off guard," I tell him, feeling like he may have kinda misunderstood me. A shy smile pulls on his lips as he looks back at me. "Yea it is kinda odd isn't it?"

And that's where your friendship bloomed from. A right place and right time you could say. Though Sasha says it's all thanks to her.

Over time the two of you became really close. While Armin read you'd sit near him fiddling with your own hobbies. Sometimes you'd get caught up in him and end up spending a few moments watching him while his eyes scoured over dusty pages.

Armin was such a sweet friend, always asking how you are, being there to talk, explaining the stuff you don't understand from class to you a million times until you understand.

And once again you both were at a party when your guy's relationship finally takes the next step.

Through a stupid game of truth or dare...

Sasha scans over each and every one of us as she carefully picks her victim. "Jean!" She exclaims and Jean looks at her with an annoyed expression. Sasha and Connie have been picking on him all night, each time either giving him the truth of exposing his crush on Mikasa or the dare of letting them draw on his face. This time was no different as Sasha added a small horse on his forehead that would definitely not be gone by tomorrow. After Sasha got done we all burst out laughing. "Hey!" Jean yelled, "It's my turn alright so shut it!" And of course, I had responded to him with a snarky "Okay, Horse face" Jean turned to me with a sarcastic smile and asked me truth or dare. "Dare" I chose nervously. Jean turns to Connie and they start to whisper between themselves before Jean turns to me with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Kiss Armin."

So now here you and Armin were. At first, he'd be kinda shy about y'all's relationship but I could see you bringing out a more confident side of him.

He would be the type to remember all the little anniversaries, picking you a small bouquet for your first month.

Now I can't see him being great at making gifts but he would try his hardest!

Would definitely choose you as his partner for almost all group activities. Don't think that means he's gonna let you do no work, oh no no no. This man would rather teach you it a million times than let you get by being ignorant. (Sees this as an act of service kinda love lol) Told you before with the most serious face that " Knowledge was the greatest currency he knew"

Speaking of acts of service, that and praise is probably his love language. Of course, he would love holding your hand, a little bit of cuddling, or a few pecks on the cheek. But when he wants to show his love for you he'd tell you what he's thinking and just genuinely spend a lot of time with you.

I can't see him being big on any forms of PDA, except hand-holding. Hear me out though, I think he'd be the type to hold pinkies instead though.

I could see him writing you hundreds of love letters he'd never give to you but be too scared to get rid of them in case someone else (Jean and Connie) read them, or God forbid you saw them.

He would swap books with you if you were an avid reader. ( Would want for you guys to make matching bookmarks as a kinda of date!! )

But if you were more of a sporty type then he'd definitely love to watch you play, even if he cares nothing for the game itself. Maybe even give you some pointers he noticed or help you strategize. After watching you for awhile he would be able to go on like hour-long rants breaking down each and every little detail and rule of the game and way overthinking it.

Now if you guys for whatever have a fight he'd be quick to apologize because he'd never want you mad at him. (Still believes he's right though, just won't tell you that )

Definitely has a few red flags and will work on some of them.

When he's struggling with all the things going on with Eren, one of his main stress relievers would be you playing with his hair, tracing your nails against his scalp.

If you ask realllllyyyy nicely he just might let you braid his hair or tie it up. Even though he knows he won't hear the end of it from the others.

Surprised you a few times with flower rings he made for you.

I could see him being really involved in the wedding planning. If it was up to him either a light purple or sea blue color theme.

In a more modern au, I could see him offering to paint your nails for you if you ever complain about it being able to get them done. He would spend hours trying to perfect it and maybe it didn't match the reference perfectly but they were perfect to you ♡

(These are less relationship-focused and more so things I think about Armin )

Struggles so much with Eren always doing everything so rashly and getting into trouble that he never lets anyone help with it. I feel like he may have had a fear of being replaced or left behind by Eren and Mikasa because he isn't as strong as them.

Just someone tell him he's making the right choices and that he can't make everything right. He needs to hear that.

Jean and him are really close and hang out a lot. Jean is a way more chill and less stressful friendship for Armin compared to half of his other friendships. I can see Armin feeling like he needs to be a therapist friend for everyone, outside of just Eren and Mikasa too, big people pleaser.

Jean just really knows how to chill and not ask a lot of Armin, of course they've talked about heavy stuff before but it's a lot more talking from both of them rather than Armin needing to comfort the other person. Every once in awhile Jean actually is the therapist for Armin.

He does grow out of that though. Starts to become a lot more set in reality after seeing all the deaths in the recon missions. Some meaningless little drama isn't something he needs to focus on helping a fellow cadet out with. Still holds onto some of his people-pleasing tendencies but has figured out a lot of his priorities in his personal life.

I think Armin truly believed that fighting those bullies back in his childhood wouldn't have been the right choice and wasn't just because he was weaker.

I could see him knowing how to play a ton of card games that he learned from his grandpa.

I also think at one point he learned how to sew from Eren's mom. Eren would tease him by saying things about how he's "finally fitting into his girly hair" Then when he actually tries it and sees how hard it is and how much better Armin was he quits the teasing comments.

I think Armin has a lot of trust issues in almost everyone after figuring out Annie was a traitor. To him, they seemed pretty close and had a good understanding of each other. But Annie's betrayal really shattered some of his innocence and trust in the world.

One time he told Connie that if he walked around barefoot he could get flesh-eating worms. Connie was a bit more than traumatized by that information.

As sweet as Armin seems he is honestly so manipulative. It can hardly be noticed by anyone except maybe Commander Erwin or Levi but Armin's a bit too smart to try it on them. He accidentally tried to manipulate Commander Erwin one day over something small and when Erwin subtly commented on it he almost died of shock.

I could see Armin having a lot of respect for his superiors but not being the type to follow them blindly. Like the smart kid who isn't afraid to correct the teacher. And yes he was that type of student, to an annoying extent.

Armin as a student mostly just studied the material he was being tested on to a point where he was confident he knew it. And then would dig extremely deep into any topics that interest him. He knew every type of rock that existed inside the walls but couldn't remember his 12 multiple facts.

He definitely isn't antisocial or introverted. A little shy, yes, but mainly he's just a extrovert or ambivert who's not very loud. In no way has he ever been afraid of talking to people or making his thoughts known.

Speaking of talking to people, him and Hange are total geek besties. The spent hours looking at the hardened titan skin fragment and theorizing on all sorts of topics

I think when he was younger he saw a really huge pond and thought he had some how found the ocean inside the walls.

Probably would spend days going on picnics with his parents and reading in flower fields before the wall break. Once tried to bring Eren and Mikasa on one and never got any reading done.

This man's library card would be personalized in his favorite color (sea blue) and bedazzled.

I could see Armin being a really big Jazz and blue grass guy. Mostly because it's non-lyrical and doesn't tend to distract him as easily.

Would bust down to some Megan thee stallion and nasty redd. I mean, look at that stance-

Sorry to all those hoping for older Armin, I STILL haven't watched season 3/4 of AoT so I don't really have too many thoughts on older Armin other than that ma is SOOO FINEE Soon enough I'll write for him, and yes there will be another poll for writings posted after this post!! Sam & Dean are, in fact, soulmates

It’s rant time again! (Sorry)

I saw an idiotic interesting take on Twitter last night where someone claimed that Sam and Dean aren’t soulmates, and that they couldn’t understand how anyone could interpret it that way (particularly referring to "Dark Side of the Moon"). And they actually wondered what show soulmate-truthers (my term) were watching.

Umm, the actual show?

I’ve paraphrased the comment slightly and replies slightly, and I’m not posting a pic of the actual post, because I’m going to try not do that on this blog, but also, this person is just like the others in the replies (and in fandom) who “interpret” the show a certain way because it suits their destiel narrative. They all drank the cool-aid, so why single one out? At the same time, this take shows so little media literacy that it pisses me off. Thus, the rant.

One argument I saw under this tweet was that Dean needed to find a road to lead him to Sam, so it proves they weren’t in the same heaven.

Wrong.

If they weren’t in the same heaven, Dean wouldn’t have been able to find Sam. Period. We know this because Ash has to do a little spell thing in order for them to leave their heaven (“Winchester Land”) at all. They can’t just jump heavens on their own. We also see this in later seasons. People just don’t hop into each others’ heavens without some sort of help.

Another stupid argument I saw is that Sam and Dean can’t be soulmates because "they’re BROTHERS!”

Wrong Again!

While having a soulmate is often (maybe even most often) seen as a romantic trope, being soulmates is actually not inherently romantic. Let’s even just stay on the WB/CW level for this one for a minute. Dawson and Joey consider themselves soulmates in Dawson’s Creek, but they don’t make a good couple, they work better as friends, and they don’t end up together. While they aren’t entirely platonic, them being soulmates ultimately isn’t about romantic love either. Sorry, I stumbled onto a reactor watching this show lately, so it’s fresh in my mind. You could also make arguments for Xander and Willow, Joey and Phoebe, or Christina and Meredith (Grey’s Anatomy calls it “my person” being science-based, but it amounts to the same thing). Ultimately, being soulmates just means two people have an incredibly close bond, love each other dearly, understand each other on a deeper level than most, and often need each other. Despite what some hellers think, not all love and closeness is sexual or romantic. Finally, if someone sees being soulmates as having to be romantic, they should probably take it up with Kripke.

Anyway, let’s round this rant off at three flawed arguments with this one: people are “free” (passive aggressive) to interpret the episode how they “like,” but Sam and Dean bring soulmates is not actually supported by the episode.

Ugh!

Why the hell would the writers have Ash even mention soulmates in the scene at all, if it wasn’t to tell the audience (and the boys) something important about the characters? Knowing that soulmates share a heaven isn’t necessary to the plot at this moment (if they aren’t soulmates). We have been told people have individual heavens in most cases, so we don’t need to know the soulmate exception to generally understand how heaven works. But we do get this bit of exposition because 1) it tells us why Dean was able to find Sam on his own (with no spells, even though people don’t usually share a space), and 2) because it tells us the info that they are soulmates, bound together no matter what. It deepens their whole tangled up relationship, for better or worse. Is it a bit unusual for brothers to be soulmates? Yes! That’s the whole point. Sam and Dean are weird. This is not news. Where have these people been for the last 4.5 seasons??

Also, Ash looks directly at Sam and Dean after he drops the soulmate bomb. And each of them looks uncomfortable. The scene takes a beat here, a short one but it’s clear, so the audience can acknowledge this info. Why would the camera focus on the characters’ reactions if the soulmates line was a just a random little nugget of info? People hellers will write whole distractions on the significance of “parallels” between characters and “interpret” scenes using head-canons as support, but they can’t don’t want to understand that the camera lingering on the brothers when they learn information about themselves is significant? Also, it suggests in the script that Ash looks away from them to give them a minute to process this info. Why would he care if it didn’t pertain to them? (Hellers. Have. No. Media. Literacy.). Sam and Dean are soulmates. It’s canon.

Also, this is another episode but it adds confirmation. In 15x20, Dean feels Sam on the bridge in the new heaven before he sees or hears him. Thus. Soulmates!

So actually a good 80% of this is written from personal experience LOL I used to dance and was into drift building/racing in my late teens/early twenties! Most of the references or scenes in Midnight Menagerie are references to things I've seen or done in real life, OR stories friends have told me within the same field. (Nora is literally just a rebranding of this one mutual friend we had who just. Absolutely fucking unhinged) Like for example, the anticipated Hangover Chapter is just a retelling of an insane Summer weekend I had in 2017 ☠️ it's a personal delight being able to translate things into the narrative, even more so knowing people find my stupid, terrible decisions as amusing as I do in current times lol

My general rule of thumb is to write from experience. Things I understand either on a technical point or emotional connection. So, if you've read it in my work, it's probably something I've done LOL

Another reason I find drive in writing this type of narrative is that MM!Blake's type of dissociative PTSD is something I haven't seen much in media in general. I've seen people depict her in various ways (some of them good!), but none of them ever really apply directly to me, so I wanted to make something that I could relate to and how to properly navigate life, given the environmental circumstances. Plus some us need better examples on how to juggle mental illness as adults and also be in healthy long term relationships because damn I have zero reference LOL

They're doing an amazing job and deserve praise

I should just preface already that every book Blake reads in MM is a fanfiction that exists because I love Easter eggs. Everyone knows I had Blake reference this in chapter 3 LOL but it's equally as immaculate as Erin's work. I LOVED especially the dynamic between Weiss, Yang, and Ruby in this one. Baby, we're complicated fucking murdered me 😭 also that fuckass Christmas scene, that's my favorite Christmas song LMAO

5. The Home Inside Your Head

Written by the ever skilled @/writeriguess . I found this fic by accident by seeing fanart for it floating around on this site. Got curious, picked at it, and. Oh, my god. It's not very often my brain gets scratched in the right way, but boy this one does it. This author does something specifically unique I haven't seen many do before, and I applaud them for it. There's great detail on the scenes that matter, and the fucking organic build up between Blake and Yang is just. God. Chef's kiss. Truly. It feels so god damn natural and healthy and it's already crossing off several of my agendas already. Give this one a read and give the author some love. SENSUAL FACE TOUCHING? CHAPTER 13????? BOOOOOOOYYYYYYY I'm normal about it

6. You'd Be Paranoid Too (If Everyone Was Out To Get You)

Okay so this one's completely different than what I've previously listed but HOLY FUCKING SHIT IS IT A THRILLER. It doesn't nearly have the amount of love and attention it truly deserves. A friend of mine recommended it to me because it shook them so fucking hard they were in total brainrot hell for a MONTH. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY LMAO God I was obsessed with this for weeks myself. It obviously lives up to it's rating, horror fics aren't for everyone. But if you're able to read it, good lord you should. It's chilling, captivating, and had me on the edge of my fucking seat the entire time. Both endings are good, I still can't decide which one I prefer but RAH I will make sure this is seen god dammit

7. You And Me and This Temptation

Okay this one was an accidental find as well. A friend sent it to me because THEY found it by accident, I clicked on it for later, went looking for a completely different fic that I mistook for this one, started skimming and realized 'wait a minute LMAO I don't recognize this'. But the thing you have to understand is I hate reading. I'm not a reader, I'm picky and it needs to be worth sitting down for long periods of time. This is one of the rare instances where I was so captivated by it I kept reading more and more from the middle where I landed, and eventually just said ykw let me just start from the beginning cus LMAO context.

This one is, by far, one the healthiest and loveliest depictions of first times I have ever seen. This shit was so inspiring to me that it literally kickstarted an essay in someone's DMs why depictions like this are so important. I didn't have this experience irl, and why MM is written the way it is is because its meant to serve as a lighthouse for those who, like me, haven't. This fic however I feel like should be a required read for anyone getting into relationships for the first time because if it's not like how these two interact, LEAVE IT. This is the standard. This is amazingly written, it's the closest I've ever seen canon Yang and Blake be written to date. The fucking souvenir bit 😭 NJKFGNFJKGNGJ killed me, I was kicking my feet laughing for a good minute. This is the kind of standard everyone should look at and go 'yeah, I want what they have' BECAUSE IT'S CORRECT. LOUD CORRECT BUZZER NOISES

Honestly everything in my bookmarks is certified Kaeli Fresh but these 7 are my top faves. They're probably also really commonly known I'm sure but LMAO like I said I don't read much 😭 which is heavily ironic considering I write myself. Anyway this ended up way longer than I intended but LOL <3 <3 go give these incredible authors love!!

Sorry to bother you. I saw that you'd gone through 4.5 and couldn't help but try to make a plea to convince you to join in the boycott of the game going forward.

Project Moon hasn't made a single announcement since the Korean-only notice of the story illustrator's absurd(and certainly illegal) layoff. I'm thankful a lot of tumblr's been made aware, but. They're clearly hoping the situation will blow over with 4.5's release, possibly with many international fans never even hearing of this... this absolute idiocy they've commited. They won't post English or Japanese explanations, they didn't even include the Korean one in the in-game announcement. They know they're in the wrong. It's cowardly and their horrible treatment of their employees and contractors need to face justice. We have to make clear we don't approve of these practices, because if we let them get away with this, in the present, they'll be doing it forever. Their actions have shown all they care for is the capital they get from active users, directly and indirectly.

I realize it might be hard to let go of the characters and the unique world of project moon that you've become fond of. Isn't it the same for us all? But I implore you to consider refraining from logging in, at least for a little while. The investments they get, that keep the company going smoothly, are tied closely to the number of active daily and monthly users, especially after a big update like now. If the international fandom could join in the boycott(not logging in, deleting the game or requesting refunds through the app store and steam if they've spent money on it), projmoon will eventually have to address the situation if they want to continue servicing limbus. I mean, there are other factors such as pressure from news media and the possiblity of a lawsuit from the illustrator, but this is the most definite way.

Projmoon's broken our faith in the worst way possible. They'd rather indulge the outrageous demands of a hate group that antagonised their employee over evidence of nothing and tanked their game's reviews for fun than show an ounce of sense, and personally? Those very employees and contractors seem to have been the heart and soul of the stories I fell in love with, and with kjh refusing to even pretend to understand the very themes his games have been built on, I can no longer take any of it seriously either.

Uh, well. The ask's become a bit of a slog to get through. If you have anything you want a clearer explanation on I'd gladly answer, and if you want to keep on playing I can't stop you. And I suppose it might not feel fair that you were the one I addressed, out of the many, many who are doing the same.

But thanks for reading anyway, because I loved their games, loved anticipating the future stories they'd tell, and kjh turned out to be the kind of asshole who fires a longtime employee over the phone at 11 pm over baseless claims with not a shred of regard for labor laws, and I am at a loss at the absurdity of this entire... thing. I had to say something. Hell world.

To my fault, I didn't think about boyscot as act of protest by myself, and saw people suggesting it on Twitter only when finished 4.5. It made me feel really stupid, especially when I saw graph showing how many people visited game. But now I'm not going to return to the game, at least until PMoon makes an announcement. I also feel horrible and confused, especially with the amount of false information around, which makes it extremely difficult to trust anyone right now. But I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Also hope that at least my mistake, will help people, satisfying their curiosity without need to read by themselves.

Kotaku is an outlet banned by square enix right? That's what I've seen back in april at least. Im asking because there's a clerith on twitter defending aerith from her questionable attitude with barret. Then they post a clearly biased translation by kotaku of the scenes on which the video is explaining the "right" translation. Perhaps their translation is right but is the interpretation correct? I never heard aerith to be equated to having a high EQ, if she did she wouldn't be willfully making the people around her feel uncomfortable like with cloud and tifa in OG and/or in remake. She's an insult to people with high EQ, high EQ people are sensitive, careful, and wise. A side note as well, they really do love to hold onto cait sith for confirmation huh? Even if this sham directly says that cloud is madly in love with aerith, should that really hold any value at all? He doesn't even know what's up with anyone really, And for someone to be called as "to loose someone so precious" cloud went idgaf afterwards her death. He was honestly really chill, he even went snowboarding chill (lol). It even took him 2 years and a sickness to remember, "oh yeah I have survivor's guilt". So precious that he couldn't even visit her grave and decided to pop his cherry with his true love under the highwind. Whatever, the mistranslation isn't even a big to begin with, I still don't think it's good what she did and Tifa has the right to call what she did as harsh, does this girl ever know how to read people properly? That's the weird clerith dude who screams "I LOVE HER!!!" every time Aerith appears right? He didn't even bother to translate the entire game, despite saying he would. He only went up to Aerith's death and acted like the rest of the game is an afterthought where nothing happens. He's also very insulting to Tifa.

His translation may be useful for those small sections where he isn't a rabid garbage bag trashing Tifa and Zack and lying about Cloud's feelings, but in general it's total shit.

And yeah, the Cait Sith thing is just lame. Who takes Reeve's robot as a valid source over Cloud literally telling Tifa she's his reason for everything? And let's not forget they fucked, live together and have kids.

 While listening to the news that Fury was communicating to you, you tried not to change your expression. You could not even believe what he was saying—how was it that he had been able to survive for so long?

You turned around when you felt a light squeeze on your arm; it was Brock. You looked at each other for a few seconds; the two of you knew what it meant. You looked away when you realized that you were about to break the pen you had in your hand.

Dinner time was quiet; tension was felt in the air, and you couldn't stop thinking about what had happened a few hours earlier.

"I don't like this, Brock; how is it possible that this man survived?" And specifically, they would have found it at this time, but above all, why was it not our organization that found it? "you commented.

Brock raised his shoulders; for the first time in his life, he did not have the answer; however, you would be attentive to everything that could happen.

Everyone knew that HYDRA had gained power thanks to the disappearance of Rogers and the fact that one of its best leaders had managed to enter HYDRA without anyone suspecting; no one would suspect the great Peggy Carter, nor that thanks to her, HYDRA had not disappeared.

Therefore, you were not going to let Rogers ruin everything either.

"Maybe we should run away," you proposed, although you were actually joking.

Brock raised his eyebrow. "Why should we flee?" he questioned.

"I joked, but if things go wrong, it's an option."

2014

 When your phone started ringing, you threw yourself on the bed and bothered the pillow; when Brock's phone started ringing, you couldn't help but shout victory when you read the message.

"Let me sleep; don't make so much noise," Brock mumbled, a little annoyed.

"You have to read the big news; I doubt they can save him, but they need us right now," you said excitedly.

Brock cursed while taking the cell phone; he assumed it was some stupid last-minute mission, which was not expected and was the best news in a long time.

"Any news on what happened?" Brock inquired. "You'd be at the hospital in less than fifteen minutes, and I wanted to know what he'd face."

"Officer on the S.H.I.E.L.D. part, no, but it was the soldier," you replied as you watched the incoming messages. The next few hours would be chaotic, although you were confident that everything would go according to plan, a lot of hassle would be removed, and Hydra would triumph.

You couldn't stop seeing what was happening; maybe you've never felt so excited in your life before, and yet you had to contain all your excitement when you saw that the plan, whatever it was, had the results you had been dreaming of for years, as well as the smile that was beginning to form on your lips.

What you did not count on was the brief chaos that would be unleashed in the hospital, not among those present, upon receiving the unexpected news. Of course, several people expected a different ending.

You watched, without them seeing you, as Rogers and Romanoff argued, yet you didn't realize that your husband had approached you.

"I have to take it to Pierce," Brock whispered in your ear.

"I guess I have to go," you said without stopping to look at them. There was something hidden. It seems that there are troubles in paradise.

"Yes, but not with us; you'll go tell Pierce what happened."

"Do you think you can fight him?" you asked, concerned; you guessed what would happen, but in reality, you would have preferred someone to tell you what the damn plan was.

You had heard what happened in the elevators, and you needed to know how Brock was, although you were sure that he would be much more than angry, for what they had told you was not so bad, you still felt that your heart beat too fast, like all the times he had been injured on some mission.

You went into the infirmary, surprised by the number of agents there. You couldn't believe Rogers could have fought all those people. You carefully went through the curtain, and there it was; it was only a few wounds.

"Brock... "

You knew things weren't going to end well, so you decided to go find your husband. Once Rogers figured out the whole plan, it would only be a matter of time before they went after you.

They knew what you were doing, but they would not understand your reasons. You kept running down the stairs; surely, on one of the upper floors, one of Rogers' friends would be waiting for you to fight you.

You had probably already lost several HYDRA members, possibly even Pierce, and you were certain that the soldier would have to be contacted in the same way. Somehow, you had to escape; you three had always been a team.

You dashed up two more floors and flipped while drawing your gun when you heard the emergency door open, but you quickly lowered it when you saw it was Brock.

"Are you okay?" "He asked you when he saw you; he also lowered the gun." I was looking for you; we have to go with Pierce; the widow is with him...

"Let's run away," you said, taking his arm in yours.

"But... "

"Do you think they'll help us out? You know Rogers and his team will beat us, and we'll have us in Raft... separately."

You knew that you would convince him; from the moment you met, Brock had promised you that you would never be separated again, not even after death.

Through the intercom, Brock managed to tell Jack the plan, and they quickly agreed.

"Cover me. We have to leave before anyone notices or catches us," he told you as he walked back to where he had entered.

You stopped him. "We can't go around; there are cameras, and I'm sure someone is helping them from there," you said.

You had to go to the basement; there was a secret exit that you used to use when you had to do a Hydra mission that no one from S.H.I.E.L.D. must have known about.

You continued down the stairs; you walked a little fast, but you remained alert in case someone tried to attack you. At that moment, you could not wait for Jack, but you trusted that he would also manage to flee.

Twice they almost caught you, but somehow you got to the basement and went straight to where Brock's bike was, confident that you could continue to elude your enemies.

You hugged Brock's waist while he was on the motorcycle; you put on your helmet, and you couldn't delay. You went out, and you put your head against his back.

You knew it was all over; probably everyone already knew what you were doing, but it didn't matter. You and Brock were going to run away. It didn't matter if you were wanted; it didn't matter that you had to abandon everything and start over.

You assumed that finding a new job and making a living would be simple, but in the end, everyone was your adversary; you couldn't even rely on HYDRA. And yet you had the necessary contacts to "disappear."

If you hurried before it was too late, you could take some things out of your apartment and leave; when the others arrived, you would find nothing, not even a single clue as to where you had gone.

The sirens of the ambulances and patrol cars were heard as you walked your way; you knew you were heading to the Triskelion; probably the chaos was enormous; maybe in a short time, your faces would appear on the news, everywhere, because they would be looking for you; most likely, they wanted to be told everything you were doing and other secrets of Hydra; but nothing that happened or what would happen was going to cause you to be traitors and talk.

You gave Brock a few minutes to say goodbye to his bike; you knew how much affection she had for it, but you would have to abandon it because it was easy to recognize. You entered the building stealthily; instead of getting off the elevator on the usual floor, you went up two more floors. You would arrive from the back; in fact, you would use the emergency stairs to enter through one of the windows.

You went in first, although you had a hard time convincing him since he didn't want anything bad to happen to you, coupled with the fact that you weren't sure if they were already waiting for you.

You began packing quickly, leaving only the furniture, but you didn't want to leave them any of the living memories that Brock and you had been sharing or give them any idea of where you could go, even though you didn't yet know where you were going; Jack sent you a message with the location where he was waiting for you.

They came in two hours later; Sam made an annoyed gesture; the apartment was empty; you were supposed to have been caught, and they needed to find out where you were.

They needed the information from the three of you; they didn't know where you might have gone.

You turned to see the sunrise through the window; in a couple of hours, you would reach your destination. Brock took your hand and saw it; he moved his lips to tell you, "I love you," and you smiled.

You would never be caught.

anyway, I'm going to rant underneath your ask about being a child now im so sorry 😔

It's always been so weird being as young as I am both on tumblr and in the fandom space I'm currently a part of. Like realistically, a 14 y/o boy liking minecraft/mcyt sounds really normal but I don't know anyone my age that is open about being a part of this space. I think growing up on tumblr instead or twitter or tiktok honestly really helped when it comes to being happy in my intrests, since almost every other freshman to ever exist has no idea what this website is and they have no chance of ever finding my posts to make fun of me with them. I still use the other two, but I don't post and I only really open them when a cc like Charlie or Ted posts.

It's hilarious to me that because of my current intrests (jrwi and charlie in general) almost everyone that I'm friends with on here are much older minors or adults, mainly because charlie has a pretty mature and well rounded audience (THANK FUCKING GOD 🙏🙏), but also because everybody else my age that are in this fandom are on tiktok. Using tiktok for me and actually posting is kinda unsafe because of the way the tiktok contact sharing works? if someone from my classes finds it through "recommend accounts" then they can look through my account and harrass me if they recognize who it is. Not to steal a Charlie Slimecicle quote for a second, but I was rewatching an old podcast episode from the very beginning of 2020 and he described it as "elevated highschool" which I 100% agree with. Even 3 years later it's still very much just a higher form of highschool bullshit to have to deal with.

But since I don't post on tiktok I don't really have much to worry about!! My account is blank and it's the same @ as my url so nobody should recognize it and put a face to a name which im grateful for. However, being on tumblr isn't the greatest either;

People on here are all adults and I feel a little bit intimidated? In a sense? I understand that I'm a LOT different than most kids my age and I don't typically have anything to worry about but!! I feel like that's what makes it worse. The other people my age that were or still are on here don't understand tumblr etiquette, don't understand not to act like this is twitter and not have stupid cubito discourse, or just aren't funny? Idk I've just never found anyone my age (with the exception of like 3 of my mutuals you guys are amazing and I love you) that I can really talk to on here, so all of the friends I've made are much much older. I'm smart with who I talk to and how I talk to them so I'm safe don't worry!! My parents raised me right and online safety is such a wonderful thing, but one of my closest mutuals on here is in college right now, and the others are juniors or seniors in highschool. I kept my age out of my bio for so long but honestly that was because I was terrified I would scare away the people that I trusted so much because literally obviously it's going to feel weird for them to be mutuals with a genuine honest to god child. I'm relatively close to turning 15 so I'm getting less and less worried about stuff like that happening but eh that was still a real fear for a while.

Relating to the drama post I made a few days back but uh…

Somehow the flames got reignited and now my ex moot and a friend of hers are being really stupid by showing how aggressive they are on insta’s stories despite the ex moot saying that *she’s a victim* and “im not a bully i just want peace 🥺”

I have them both blocked thankfully but the way they’re going at all of this (that I only talked about like once this year and I have not once name dropped anyone) is god awful like they’re even dragging my close moots into it and calling us all pieces of shit.

For someone who wants peace, her calling me a piece of shit while her friend shares memes that depict some… lowkey aggressive stuff that very obviously is directed towards me is so telling of their true character.

I mainly got most of the info from some people who I deeply cherish who also happen to have been wronged so badly by these people and it sucks that they don’t seem to see that what they’re doing is bad? They constantly attack anyone and I mean ANYONE who has a different opinion on anything. I feel bad for my friends who most definitely had it way worse than me.

We’re all adults at this point and I swear the two of them are acting like immature kids with how they act online. Grow up man this is tiring.

Jiang Yanli was determined to spend time with her brothers, like they used to when they were kids. She really missed them! It was nobody's fault that, after she'd gone to high school, she'd had too many obligations to just hang out with them.

And then she'd gone to university and they'd gone to high school, and everyone was too busy and doing things together seemed like an impossible task. And then she'd graduated and her brothers had gone to college instead, and with exams and projects they never had time for her!

But Jiang Yanli was determined. Now that they were done with exams for the moment, she asked them to meet up the next friday and they agreed, also eager to spend time with her (at least, she presumed...)

"A-Cheng, A-Xian!!! Here!!!!" She waved at them from the park bench she was sitting on.

They hugged tightly like they hadn't seen each other in months (not true, but family dinners didn't count) and helped her spread out the contents of their picnic baskets.

It was such an enjoyable time! All three of them, hanging out again, talking about their lives. She'd missed them so much!

After a while, seeing that they rarely mentioned someone else in their tales, Jiang Yanli got curious and asked:

"So is there no one that you like?" And that's when things started to get... Weird. Jiang Cheng got somewhat cagey - but what was fine, he's always been shy! Maybe he wasn't ready, so she wasn't going to press. But Wei Wuxian also avoided the question.

She would have expected Wei Wuxian to either be upfront about not liking anyone, or be excited to tell her if he'd met a girl he liked! But maybe... Oh, was it because it wasn't a girl? It wasn't something she'd expected, but it was nothing to be ashamed of!

She decided to show her support "So there's no girl, or boy? Anyone? You know you can tell jiejie, right? You too, A-Cheng! I will always support you ☺️" "Eh? Ah, haha, thanks, jie, but there's really no need to..."

Wei Wuxian trailed off as he looked at Jiang Cheng's closed off expression. Jiang Yanli saw some kind of shift in him, as he seemed to change course of action "Actually, there is someone I like, quite a lot" "Oh?? Do tell me more, if you can ☺️"

"they are always shy and grumpy, but very kind. They're like tofu that's crispy outside but soft inside!" Jiang Yanli laughed at the comparison, while Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes and turned his head away from them

"i really, uh, I really like spending time with them, it's fun and they. Uhm. Jie, they make me happy" Wei Wuxian said, turning shy and looking at the grass under them. Jiang Cheng was now looking at him, too. Jiang Yanli was surprised. Could it be that her A-Xian had found his forever?

"Wei Wuxian... You- you really mean it?" "Of course I do. This person is... very important to me and I- I want to make them happy as well. If they'll let me" Aw, so her A-Xian really was in love! But why did A-Cheng look like he was about to cry...?

"Stupid" Jiang Cheng said as he threw his arms around Wei Wuxian, who hugged him back immediately, their momentum bringing them down half on their blanket and half on the grass...

...huh? Jiang Yanli was very confused. Who was this special person?

Why would A-Xian's confession get such a reaction out of A-Cheng? But as she saw how the two were entangled, smiling with tears in their eyes, and had maybe even forgotten about her, she realized who that special person was.

Jiang Yanli smiled and cut three more slices of cake. There was something to celebrate, after all.

Lots and lots and lots of white knight thoughts below the cut. I anticipated hating it a lot more, but it wasn't all that amazing either. but I have been lent the second TPB so I will be continuing to read it, and I haven't read a TPB in a while so i have a lot of opinions.

Stuff I liked (with some things I didn't like): 1. The art is just beautiful. I love the way Sean Murphy does crosshatching and eyes and shading, I love his use of colors. I've been saying it but I loved the designs, and especially especially the Joker design. There's a lot of splash art of Joker at like...Batman shrines, essentially praying, that I found really beautiful. 2. I really liked the interpretation of the Joker as a Batman "fanboy" and someone who is pushing him to be "better" rather than trying to establish superiority over him. I like the idea of Joker trying to take the city to give it back as a sign of affection. of course, that being said, I wish they had been more explicitly queer about it - the fact that the volume ends with the Joker/Harley wedding as attended by Batman is stupid. I also think there's an issue with whether or not the Joker is evil - I made a post about how WK Joker had never been charged with anything more than armed robbery, and we learn that he didn't kill Jason (though he might have if not for Harley). We hear from Harley that he was a bad boyfriend, but then we also hear from copycat-Harley that he never assaulted her or otherwise abused her. So what exactly has he done? Why IS he so bad? WK needs to walk the morality line so we can accept Jack as a redeemable protagonist while also needing Joker to be SO evil that we struggle with it...but Joker seems like he wasn't even that bad in the first place. 3. I like the reworking of Jason and Dick to have Jason be the first Robin. i think it adds another layer of drama to the family unit, and does a lot of work to explain why Bruce is so fucked up in WKverse. i like that, for a minute, it's ambiguous whether or not Jason died, and PART of me likes that he didn't die and instead chose to disappear. however, i think he's a little too young of a character to have actually made the choice to go missing. 4. I actually do like a lot of the politics stuff. I mean, a lot of it is very bad-faith "if Batman good, why property damage?" stuff that you see on Twitter daily, but the comic actually engages with the critique and examines how that would function in-universe rather than just parroting it and calling it a day. I think the Joker's rise to power is kind of feasible with some of the talking points he had. I think where it falls short is there's too many buzzwords and they don't go far enough sometimes. Stuff I have mixed feelings on: 1. Two Harleys. This is okay - this is actually kind of cool. Harley as a character has been like...plaguing DC writers for years now, nobody quite knows what to do with her because she's been REALLY different in various incarnations, to the point where now a lot of comic canon spends time commenting on how Harley doesn't really have a consistent character. Whether or not that's true is anyone's guess...to be real, a lot of it is misogyny in my opinion, because EVERY comics character is very different each time they get written, but you don't see people agonizing like this over the Riddler. Anyway, Murphy's solution is that Classic Harley is actual Harley and New, Sexy Harley is replacement Harley.

Classic Harley is alright. I don't buy that she could have manufactured the mystery magical mental illness cure pills for Joker, but those pills are a stretch in the first place. I also don't buy that she "really" fell in love with Jack, and not the Joker - I think that's a pretty simplistic version of the character, I think it's more interesting for her to be obsessed with Joker despite the toxicity of the relationship. I think they went a little too "empowered girlboss" and ironically ended up erasing a lot of her character.

Replacement Harley ended up actually being FAR more interesting to me (though I do think it's funny she even exists) because she is, if anything, a reworking of a Harley origin in feeling "saved" by the Joker. I do think the Neo-Joker thing is kind of bullshit though. She should just be trying to claim the Harley Quinn title.

2. Bruce Wayne. WK randomly has some of the best Bruce characterization fucking ever - the relationship with Alfred is good, him paying for city damage out of pocket is good, the bit where Neo-Joker robs his house and he's like "good heavens no!!!" in the bathrobe is amazing. I love when he goes to the socialite party and gets so so mad at the other socialites. I don't think everything is cohesive, though. WK needs Batman to be at his ABSOLUTE lowest in order for the story to make sense, and I don't think that Alfred dying is quite enough to explain the shift to brutality that we see Batman take. I also don't understand how Bruce didn't know that other 1%ers were profiting off of crime if HE'S been the one losing money on it - literally directly taking the hit to protect the city.

Stuff I didn't like: 1. Jack Napier, as a character, is just some random guy. nothing about his behavior makes sense as "guy who used to be the Joker", he's just like, super well-adjusted and way too intelligent for the sake of the plot. I think the story would be a lot more interesting if he was just a little weirder. There are a lot of moments, particularly in the later issues, where I think the implication is supposed to be that Joker is masquerading as Jack...that is interesting to me and I'd like more of that. 2. the pacing was ABYMSMAL and I think because the story is about power dynamics SHIFTING OVER TIME, pacing is a MUST. i should FEEL how much time is passing. 3. mind-controlled rogues gallery as props for Joker and Neo-Joker SUCKS and I hate it and it's lameeee. the rogues gallery doesn't even factor in that much to the story, they honestly don't even need to be here if they're just going to stand around blankly. 4. I don't think the writing about class or race is particularly well-thought out or....good......I am willing to suspend some disbelief to accept a world where the Joker could somehow become a left-wing socialist icon, but then it doesn't actually make sense with the politics he's propping up. namely the Gotham Super Police (which in itself is very stupid). and the writing about race is honestly even worse, you get the sense that they just through in some dialogue because they realized it was weird to not acknowledge race but also they didn't really want to acknowledge it. I also don't know why we're making Duke Thomas a random street militia guy. Why is that Duke? are we just calling this guy Duke because Duke is one of the only black men in Batman comics from the past decade? nothing about Duke in WK has anything to do with Duke as a character, they should just...have him be someone else.

5. the whole ending goes completely off the rails. WK bills itself as a grounded, social story about political upheaval in Gotham, and then halfway through turns into an all-out brawl with death lasers and frozen cities. that just sucks, I'm sorry.

Regarding Eddywow. Bc I just really need to get it off my chest and it's been bothering me all day. So firstly I cannot find a single primary source about this infamous fic posted on 8/30 aka a copy of the fic or even a screenshot of the tags so everything I can find in response to or accusing the fic of is a gd moot point. However, what I can see from previously posted fics are pretty fucking tame kink wise frankly and very clearly tagged not only in tags but in beforehand notes. Thusly I'm led to believe from what small evidence that I can uncover that what occured in the last 24hrs was a witch hunt against this author, who even at this point if they did something wrong, has been harmed completely out of proportion to their supposed crime. It's absurd this is still something that happens in 2022 and greatly distressing how many people are willing to just jump onto the bandwagon of destroying someone without a scrap of first hand evidence. From what I can find the person on Twitter who initially brought up disliking this fic has even backed down from their opinions and stated they harbor no ill will against eddywow (for all the good that does now). On the one hand I hope this doesn't destroy Eddywow's enjoyment of this fandom, but on the other hand if they never step foot in the fandom again I can understand. Verbally berating and threatening someone will never teach anyone anything but fear and contempt and does nothing to address or help real issues.

So I only noticed this when i went to bed at like midnight and didn't reply 'cause i had to wake up at 6am for work and had no brain power to actually write words lol anyway sorry for being late

And well I don't need to find any screenshots because I did read the fic, and I did see the tags and the warnings she wrote, so it might be a he said, she said sort of thing but I still know it was there and so do a lot of people (and tbh even if there were no warnings, for the situation to escalate the way it did is fucking stupid and ppl need to quit the internet if they can't behave). But ok that's fair, it's a moot point 'cause you can neither confirm or deny with your own eyes.

But as you point out she has a history of tagging things properly and even giving warnings in the notes, so it'd be fairly strange if she just decided not to do it this time. And *ding ding ding* you said it exactly right, it was a witch hunt taken to the extreme over something fictional. I'll tell you something, I think it got to that point because her writing is popular and maybe some ppl were jealous. Yes there's still the anti mentality and the purity bullshit thrown in there, but it wouldn't have blown up if people didn't love her writing as much as they do.

It seems I’ve spent three months making an archive on a Discord server about the ruin of Lizzie’s Bar. If you’re interested to know what happened and who’s responsible for it, everything is there. If you’re still in contact with folks from there, I would peek into it as I’m afraid it’s very likely something similar happens again or if you want to be informed of the unacceptable behavior some of us showed.

The Ho-Oh Club server, made around Hexpresso, Zel, Josh (Valer48), Dingo, Jayth, had fun seen the bans of the first three ruining Lizzie’s for it. Bullying survivors, impersonating sick wives to sway a debate, intimidating people in DMs, blaming Haley’s suicide on Doom for Josh when he lost access to one Discord, recruiting prospective members in DMs and from our old Reddit post, placing candidates for mods either loyal (Dingo, Annarchy) or “easily manipulated (RDS); ridiculous legal threat over one dismissive comment on a fanfic. Etc.

I went a little overboard on the transparency but I’m very confident some concrete information was needed and will clear things up. Even if not many will approve of having it all exposed, I know the only ones that should be ashamed happen to be the ones I hold in the highest contempt. If you do too after reading this, great, if not and you keep on believing everything they or anyone tells you, you’ll… probably be fine but it’s not my problem anymore.

 I warned over and over my fellow Moxes but it was never enough, and when it was substantial, half the mod team was more focused on believing a fabricated story to get Lizzie’s for themselves. Doom wanted already to take a step back and that betrayal from Bethy and Lace was the last drop, turning that break definitive and leading him to wipe the server too. It was very tempting to stay away from any fandom space after this stupid waste of time but fuck it. When you lose something good, you just need to find or do better.

Where you'll pretty much find Lizzie's Bar, but empty and reset to square one. Which I find a damn shame and complete waste of time and of a good thing. Where I’ll try to recapture what I loved in Lizzie’s and where I can assure you I will fly into the sun any hint of the shitshow we got, from anyone — be it amateur artists with inflated egos, listless or feral mods or more simply, killjoys.

 That’s all there is to take away from this. As a great philosopher once said, “If this does not spark joy, into the fucking trash it goes.” And if it does, keep it close and treat it well. I don’t think simple positivity is the antidote to toxicity, but what is rare to find online and what I saw in Lizzie’s Bar: warmth.

If you want to join and contribute to a community where strangers have human faces, if you want to vibe with like-minded nerds over your latest hyperfixation — the door is open. I’m honestly not confident it’s possible to salvage everything with everyone after that mess, but I thought best to start by letting know anyone that was interested at some point or built in some capacity the first iteration. What is possible though is to not let the idea behind Doom’s project and the culture of his community be forgotten.

It's supposed to be my 4 year HRTiversary but something happened.

A few months back I stopped feeling as much like a girl, then I started taking T as well as E, then I stopped taking E, then I stopped wearing women's clothing then I stopped wearing makeup. I might go back to E/being a girl at a later date, but I might not.

Now I wear suits, use the men's toilets, go by he him pronouns, and I'm happy - or as happy as I was as a girl. I still feel trans, but I'm not really transfeminine at this point, and I'm clearly not transmasc either.

I don't think i count as transmisogyny affected, even. I just seem to most people like an effeminate gay man (they're not wrong, but it's more complicated than that, same as it is for anyone really)

I don't have any regrets - I look at my tits (small and perky) and I think they're neat. I like that estrogen gave me a softness and a connection to my emotions I had previously been lacking, but I like that T has given me the composure and poise to push back the tears and communicate to ppl how I feel instead of just falling apart and letting people see how I feel from that.

It's hard though. Am I detrans? Not really but I do make some people uncomfortable, I suspect. Or a joke that I could have made without a second thought suddenly becomes a minefield of "is he allowed to say that"

There's another detrans grifter in the media. This one is complaining that testosterone made him bald so he "may as well" keep being a guy even tho he regrets it. Fuckin idiot. Men go bald. If I go bald I think I'm gonna cry, (only I can't cry now.) Does this make me a hypocrite?

What's a HRTiversary anyway - it's a big deal for some, for others it's just "the earliest date possible they could get on hrt."

There's other people like me, irl and online, doing similar things - retransitioning rather than detransitioning - but I don't really feel that connected to them either. I know people desperate to tell you that they're a boy (but a girl really!!!!) and try and look as clocky as possible - this reads as weirdly transphobic against the tboys. There's a way to honor and appreciate trans beauty without fetishising clockiness, that's chasershit to me.

Idk where I'm going with this tbh. I don't really understand it but I am starting to resent the constant attempt by other trans people to categorise me into something safe, or at least nameable .

What I've really learned as well is how fuckin godawful girlie culture is from the outside. Some stranger tried to pat my head at a punk gig my girlfriend was playing back in april and I told her to go fuck herself. If I tried that now I'd probably get booted from the community. Fuckin hell we got Imogen Binnie, Lou Sullivan, yknow there's actual cool parts of The Culture that you can engage with/riff on (like Jackie Ess did with Darryl and its links to Nevada) - why are we content with memes about sword lesbians and blahaj?

I'm part of the problem, too! I did that stupid "gifted boy to burnout girl with a praise kink" post from last year that I've seen go around twitter, Facebook, insta, tiktok, I'm feeding the cultural rot.

I fully expect to lose followers over this, cause it's upsetting to hear. i avoided detransitioners (still not a word i identify with) like the plague ever since i transitioned, not just cause they're normally creepy and weird but i think i genuinely believed that they'd somehow social-contagion me (Torrey Peters is occasionally capable of making a salient point, turns out!)

Anyway whatever. Burn it all down. Love and solidarity to my trans siblings, if this is creepy and weird to hear, catch you on the flipside in like 6 months when i get bored of this and go back to being a girlie

This fandom is 7 months old and it is one of the most toxic fandoms in existence.

For a show about found family, acceptance and love, the only thing the fandom is interested in is hate. Hating the characters, hating the ships, hating the cast and the crew and hating each other. It is disgusting.

There is not a single justification for the way this fandom treats each other. The way they (it, you, we) treat the crew, the cast and their significant others.

David Jenkins proved on Twitter that at least a few of the cast and/or crew are inside this fandom with us on anonymous accounts. They are absolutely seeing all of this vitriolic dreck that spews forth from this fandom. The fact that he chose to answer a question that so easily could have been a simple y/n but instead used it to say yes he's heard of the most popular SMAU in this fandom and intends to read it, just hours after the author was completely torn apart to the point of leaving Twitter for simply writing it. That's not a coincidence.

This show has been so overanalyzed that what began as simply disliking characters has turned into full on livid, vitriolic hate. And it's all based on interpretations of characters that might not even be accurate to canon. What are all of you going to do if we get a completely different backstory and motivation for characters and it doesn't in anyway line up with what you've indoctrinated yourself into believing? Are your death threats going to shift from other fans and the cast to David Jenkins and the rest of the writers?

Do you have any concept of how ridiculously stupid it is that death threats have been issued to fans and cast members of a fucking television show that is about love and acceptance? Do you people see yourselves? Do you hear what you're saying?

If you are too young or not emotionally mature enough to handle the themes of the show or you are traumatically triggered by something in the show, stop watching it and do not engage with the fandom. Just admit it's not for you and move on. If you get to a point where you can handle it, the show will be there for you to watch.

If the fandom is too much for you, the themes of fanfic or fanart triggering or you're just not able to handle it for whatever reason, either avoid the fandom or start blocking tags and don't follow accounts that don't use tags. It really is that simple.

You DO NOT, under any circumstances, have the right to dictate what other people create or engage with in fandom. You DO NOT have the right to attack creators because you don't like what they create. You DO NOT have the right to attack the cast or crew because you don't like a character, ship or plot point. You DO NOT have the right to attack cast members because of the way they engage with ADULT fans. You DO NOT have the right to attack the friends, family or loved ones of the cast or crew.

Fandom is here for the sole purpose of sharing what you LOVE with other people that love it too.

We have been handed a fucking GIFT with this show. It is literally one of the first of it's kind. A show full of lgbtqia+ characters with a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. There's no coming out storyline, no need to justify why the characters are who and what they are. They just are. They exist wholly and completely as they are and they are simply going about their lives. This is the story that we have been asking for, begging for, for literal YEARS. And now that we have it you're destroying it. And for what? Seriously. Why?

Thor: Love and Thunder

I'm a bit baffled as to why so many people hate the movie. Seriously. When it was announced Taika Waititi was staying on as director (after directing Ragnarok) and was going to be writing the script and we were told what the title was going to be, I've had a vision in my mind of what this movie was going to be. What we got is exactly what I was expecting. And I managed to accurately predict the tone and style of the movie without having seen a single thing of Taika's except Ragnarok. Having now learned more about Taika and having seen much more of his work, it's even more obvious what Love and Thunder was going to be.

Love and Thunder is not meant to be a clone of Ragnarok. Thor Ragnarok is easily one of the best movies of the MCU. It has a heavy storyline with humor injected around the edges. Love and Thunder on the other hand is meant to be fun. It has two heavy storylines inside it. A man on a killing spree because his daughter died and Jane Foster dying and hastening the process by using Mjölnir. So to keep the movie fun Taika pulled absolutely insane story elements from the comics and Norse Mythology then set it all to a soundtrack of Guns 'n' Roses (and I fracking love him for it).

Ragnarok is meant to be astonishing. The fight on the Rainbow Bridge overlaid with Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song is designed to give you feelings.

Love and Thunder is meant to make you smile. That's it, it's designed to make you happy and keep you smiling and laughing all the way through. Even with all the death and kidnapping of children. Stop taking it so damn seriously and just enjoy it. And maybe go watch the making of documentary, it might help you lighten up a bit.
