Fuck. The tri state tornado record (set way back in 1925) might get broken tonight. Holy shit. And this tornado has already touched FOUR states.

I don't think most people will realize how significant this is. As of right now, this tornado has been on the ground continuously for 150 miles. That's FUCKING INCREDIBLE, especially for a NIGHT tornado (as storms draw their power from heat).

I'd also like to remind everyone that this isn't your typical spring tornado outbreak. It's DECEMBER. And while it's not completely unheard of to have tornadoes in December, it IS unusual to have the amount of powerful tornadoes we've had in the past seven years.

The 16.1″ of snow that fell in Grand Rapids that day remains the biggest midnight-to-midnight snowfall ever. Here was my snow forecast typed on an old Royal typewriter. I think the only other time I forecast that much snow was the Groundhog Day Blizzard of 2011.

An amazing feat of forecasting tonight. Local meteorologists were warning that a tornado would hit Winfield, AL at 6:46 pm, and the clock on the square stopped when the tornado hit. It's stopped on 6:46 pm. Fantastic job, hats off to those meteorologists! It's awesome that today's technology allows for that kind of accuracy!
