It is believed that this name originates from the fact that it was a signal for hunters to prepare for the upcoming cold winter by going hunting. This is because animals were beginning to fatten up in preparation for the winter season. Moreover, since fields had recently been cleared out under the Harvest Moon, hunters could easily spot deer and other animals that had come out to search for remaining scraps. Additionally, foxes and wolves would also come out to prey on these animals.
The earliest use of the term “Hunter’s Moon,” cited in the Oxford English Dictionary, is from 1710. Some sources suggest that other names for the Hunter’s Moon are the Sanguine or Blood Moon, either associated with the blood from hunting or the color of the changing autumn leaves.

• Day of the Dead- (Spanish: Día de Muertos or Día de los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality. It is widely observed in Mexico, where it largely developed & is also observed in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage. Although related to the simultaneous Christian remembrances for Hallowtide, it has a much less solemn tone and is portrayed as a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember funny events and anecdotes about the departed.

Samhain is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. Celebrations begin on the evening of 31 October, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset.
This fire festival is celebrated on October 31st & is considered the Pagan New Year. It is the first Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year, a cross-quarter festival & the third (final) harvest festival of the mundane year. This is the time when the veil between the worlds of the living & those who have passed is the thinnest, which allows greater communication between the two
Some believe this is the time of the Goddess's mourning of the death of the God until his rebirth at Yule. The Goddess's sadness can be seen in the shortening, darkening days & the arrival of cold weather

Some mega ultra protection potpourri I made for my aunt. She can't smell unfortunately so I didn't go crazy with fragrance, however I did put two drops of sweet orange essential oils so it does smell citrus-y but like, there's a warmth to it that comes from the lavender. Our lavender oil is so strong we used one drop and it was almost overpowering at first. But I will list below the sheer amount of ingredients I put in this
Grim's protection/banishing negative energy potpourri
Black salt
Gravel root / meadowsweet
Penny royal
Eucalyptus
Red clover
Benzoin powder
Uva ursi
Clove (oil and whole cloves)
Basil
Blessed thistle
Lavender oil
Black walnut
Elder flower
Fennel seed
Arnica flowers
Angelica root
Lotus leaf
Lemon peel
Orange peel
Juniper berries
Peony bark
A single rose hip
You may use this if you wish, feel free to use substitutions. I didn't write my correspondences with these ingredients because I feel you should make your own correspondences. However there are many lists out there that explain the general gist of the metaphysical properties

Herbs for urinary incontinence
Urinary incontinence is a common condition that affects millions of people around the world. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including pregnancy, childbirth, aging and certain medical conditions. There are many herbs that have been proven effective in treating urinary incontinence.
The most popular herbs used to treat urinary incontinence include: Saw palmetto: Saw palmetto is a plant that has been shown to improve bladder control and reduce the incidence of urinary incontinence. Uva ursi: Uva ursi is a plant with antiseptic and astringent properties. It may help reduce inflammation and irritation of the bladder that can lead to urinary incontinence. Goldenrod: Goldenrod is a plant with diuretic properties. It can help flush bacteria and toxins from the urinary tract, which may help prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs), a common cause of urinary incontinence. Dandelion: Dandelion is a plant that has diuretic properties. It may also help strengthen the bladder muscles, which may help improve bladder control. Nettle: Nettle is a plant with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It may help reduce inflammation and irritation of the bladder that can lead to urinary incontinence.
Please remember that herbs are not a cure for urinary incontinence. However, they can be a helpful addition to other treatment options, such as medications or surgery.
Here are some tips for using herbs to treat urinary incontinence: Talk to your doctor before taking any herbs. Start with a low dose and gradually increase it as needed. Be aware of any potential side effects.
If you suffer from urinary incontinence, it is important to seek medical help. Your doctor can help you determine the cause of your urinary incontinence and recommend the best treatment options for you.
Prostan Plus is a product needed by every modern man who wants to take comprehensive care of his health.

newly planted kinnikinnick (arctostaphylos uva-ursi) in front of some other plants at my house. the indigenous name refers to its common use in an herbal smoking mixture; it is also called red bearberry, for the small red drupes it produces, which bears love to eat. this plant is a low, trailing evergreen shrub. I have three of them so far, and hope they will spread out to cover more of this area. the species has a broad circumboreal distribution, meaning it’s native to many places in the northern hemisphere. it should feel right at home in Portland.
