Saw Elemental yesterday and loved it! 💙🧡 It was a very sweet and heartfelt story with a lot of care put in (I'm an animation nerd and there were a couple parts that made me legimately gasp), I came out of the theater already knowing I'll be watching it again. Half the parents of the group I went with are immigrants, we cried the whole way through.
And if it isn't obvious by everything I've been reblogging, I adored the romance. It was refreshing to see a love story where they didn't get together at the very end of the movie, we actually get to see the relationship! They went on dates, they found things that didn't work and things that did. All the while watching the other one like they were the best thing they'd ever seen. And Emotional Himbo who's looking for purpose x Cranky Failgirl who's bad at figuring out her own feelings is just. *chef's kiss*
Yeah. I loved it.

Can we go back to this for a sec? To Aziraphale having to explain the concept of being in love to the other angels? Because I cannot imagine what a trip it has to be, falling in love with someone when that is literally not something you are supposed to be able to do. When it is something you barely understand. When the object of whatever this is isn't supposed to be able to feel this way either, except as time goes on you start to realize it's happening to him too. And neither of you can actually talk to each other about it.

going into youtube "Shorts" URLs and surgically removing the "shorts" part and replacing it with a donor "/watch?v=" like congratulations the operation was a success

i hate what bingeing culture has turned the consumption of media into. the pressure to watch everything all at once as soon as it drops otherwise you simply can't go onto social media or 'it's your own fault, you should know better!', the way it forms a dread around shows you know you can't watch straight away because of life commitments when you should be excited for them, and the way buzz only lasts for a few days before inevitably, everyone moves on and forgets about it. i just wish i could return to the excitement of weekly releases that kept me guessing for months on end and fostered a discussion around media

escaflowne episode 3: THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTINGGGG
This episode officially brings our count up to 4 bishounen, right off the bat.
my best friend really liked those two evil dudes, I recall. Nobody liked Allen.
I was curious to see if that dislike was justified, or if we were just biased in favor of Van. Nope, his first scene and I'm not a fan.
Like, Van hears Hitomi scream, runs through the forest and finds her unconscious being held by Some Guy. Of course he's going to freak out! He doesn't know you!! ANSWER HIM!! don't just keep being like :/ drawing your sword is a real bad idea :/ hm :// I'll kill you if you do that, so :///
dude???? considering Van is an anime dude wearing red, he is being pretty goddamn civil. Why are you delivering the news that his entire home was destroyed like he's annoying???
"Hitomi✨ you precious flower🌹 don't leave this room 💕Also King of Nothing--I mean hey you, you're also on house arrest. bye."
SAME, VAN. ugh what is this guy a knight of,other than being the worst.
ahh, there they are. Van might be tsundere as heck, but whenever he's at all worried about Hitomi he's right there immediately. if i'm remembering right this is pretty much their cornerstone.
Anyways Van tries to leave and Hitomi is like "But Allen said nooo!" and Van obviously doesn't care. then Allen shows up to treat Van like a child some more and they fight, but the important part is this:
teehee.
