Weeks of poor maintenance, rain and stress to the once locktight mechanisms in the restraining metal collar around Jain's neck began to compound in on themselves, causing it to become looser. At first Jain hadn't noticed much- years of having the collar on it became sort of a part of him, but now he couldn't deny that it was much looser, sat differently on his collarbones and allowed more movement than before.
He didn't even think about it until he went on another hunt. Jain hadn't told anyone of the collar- after all the Boss that cared and placed it there was gone, if it fell off on its own? Well, Jain wouldn't mourn too hard. However, years of having the restricting tool on him had left him with the inability to hold back any shift. Not just teeth and claws, but a full body shift.
It was painful, his body struggled and fought against taut, snapping tendons and tearing muscle fibers unused to what at this point in his life be an easy transition. He let out a howling cry in agony, body taking time to reassemble into a giant, dark beast crouched on all fours in the dark. A few notable spots could be seen in the sheen of fur, a long mane-like scruff from head down to past the hulking shoulderblades only added to the creature's massive appearance. Black, clawed hands pulled further at the collar in wild desperation, wishing to shred it away like the scraps of clothes that hung like lichen from his form.
Sloping muzzle lined with stark white teeth howled towards the sky, taking off into the night in his hunger for violence. Torn between quadripedal or bipedal running, the beast was able to gain speed easily in either method.

Big Media’s lobbyists have been running a smear campaign trying to paint the Internet Archive as a greedy big tech operation bent on stealing books—which is totally absurd. If you’ve ever used the WayBack Machine, listened to their wonderful archives of live music, or checked out one of their 37 million texts, it’s time to speak up. On March 20, everyone is showing their support for the Internet Archive during oral arguments.
Here's how you can help:
The Internet Archive is our library, a massive collection of knowledge and culture accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Don't let greedy publishers burn down the next Library of Alexandria!
And if you're absolutely certain you don't use or need the Internet Archive, take a look at their projects first, you might be surprised. Those are all at risk too.

Hey, I had a thought for the fantasy au! So on one of the previous versions of the WH website, there was a rhyme for the show that went:
A house is a place with four walls and a floor,
with a ceiling above and a lovely front door.
There's a bed to cradle you safely at night,
and windows to bring in the morning sunlight.
Your house is a mirror of just who you are,
A reflection that tells you to never stray far.
Which I thought might make a good incantation for when Wally properly summons Home (I can't remember if that's ever required for Warlocks but hey, it's still a fun poem regardless).
ohhhh this. i like this...
bonus og sketch! big ol eyes...
& no capalet because uhhhh eh nah and also i wanted Home's pendant to be on full display!
