Hello, I'm new to your blog but absolutely loved your Bo x Sleepy S/O headcanons. Was wondering how you think Bo would handle a very independent stubborn reader that doesn't know how to ask for help; getting far too ill to be going around the house. Maybe with a sprinkle of bashfulness? Hope this ask happens to be your cup of tea, I'm new to the blog and honestly haven't sent an ask to anyone in ages XD Thanks in advance, sending you best wishes ^u^
Welcome to my blog, new friend! This is just my cup of tea, too. I wrote this a while back when I was sick that has all three brothers! (pst, @fluffy-little-demon and @leewalkin, thought of y'all when I made this)
Enjoy!
Bo with a sick s/o
Tumblr media
Bo is like a weed: He'll thrive under any condition.
You, on the other hand, have an HP of 3 plus 10 fall damage.
But you're one determine motherfucker.
You crowed out of bed, swaying side to side. You feel the world weighing you down and you just want to sleep... but you have work to do around the house.
Besides, you don't want to quit now. You're so close to proving to everyone you belong in Ambrose, so why is your body betraying you.
Then you fall down the stairs...
Bo nearly drops the coffee pt on his hand, but he caught himself and placed it back on the burn. He set his mug down on the kitchen counter as he leaves the kitchen. Sometimes, Vincent would miss a step if he go too little sleep. As much as he doesn't say it, he hates it when his twin over does it (thought they are almost done with their mother's dream).
"Vincent?" He asked coming to the steps. "Hey! Get your Vincent van Gogh waxed ass back to," he stops at the bottom of the steps and sees you with your face in the wooden floor, "...bed." He kneels down and slowly lifts you into his arms, resting your head in his shoulder. He's not in a rush or sure if he should be worried about you. "Darlin'? Y/n?" He asked, shaking you slightly. "Sweet heart?"
"I'm good, Bo," you murmur, pushing yourself weakly against him. You tried to get up, but you felt your knees buckle and you slouched against his arms. "I need to get work done."
"Honey, words are slurrin'," Bo raises a brow at you. "Bed. Sleep. Now."
You shake your head as you tried to move again. "I can handle it."
"Ya can't even stand."
"I don't need no man to tell me shit," you playfully smack his chest, but your hand felt too heavy. You leaned against his chest and hummed at his warmth. "Warm... you're so warm."
You felt the back of his hand, and he clicks his tongue. "Sweetheart, yer burnin' faster than heart burn on a Sunday." You felt his arms under your legs as he lifts you up. He carries you upstairs back to your room.
"No, no," you whined. "Don't..."
"Yes," he replies. He places you back in bed and tucks you in. Again, his hand went to your forehead. He holds a still face as he looks back at your personal bathroom you two share. "I reckon I'll hav' Les go t'town for fever meds an' oranges."
You giggle as you felt your brain melt fast. "You talk funny, Bo."
He doesn't smile or smirk like he normally does. He leans down and kisses your head. "Sleep, honeydew, 'n I'll be back."
*****************
By the time you wake up again, it's in the afternoon and you smell soup. Bo came up the steps with a bowl of soup and a glass of orange juice. It's hard fro you to keep your eyes open, but he caught you in time.
He placed the food and glass down and takes out a bottle of medicine from his pants pocket. "Keep yer eyes open, love," he says, his voice softer than normal. "Ya need to eat an' move around some."
He sits on the side of the bed and helps you sit up. Your bones ache and grind together, and you sigh in relief as soon as your back is against the bed frame. You felt his hand against your forehead and he shakes his head, sighing disappointingly. His hand moves and brushes your back.
"Can you feed yourself?" He asked, his voice teetering on annoyance.
"Yes" you lied, your voice close to a whisper. It's getting harder to keep your eyes open. You hate that you're stuck here. Hate that you're weak in front of him. Your hand grips the spoon but your fingers can't move it. You try again but it doesn't work.
Bo's calloused hand pushes your hand away gently and takes the bowl. He scouts closer... then a spoon comes up. "Open an' blow, darlin'," he warns at the end. "Hot." You do as your told and you allow him to feed you. "There ya go, y/n. Goin' so good," he praises lightly, his voice heavy in his southern drawl. "Doin' real good now. After 'is, o.j. an' medicine."
You blushed at his words and looked away. "You think I'm good?" You asked bashfully.
"T'best, darlin'," he reassured, flashing you a charming smile. "Doin' real good." He put the soup down and held the glass to your lips. "Slow sips." He tilts the glass as you do what you're told as you drunk slow and steady. You motioned your hand to him to show you're done and he sets the barely half glass down. "Almost done. Look at ya," his hand rubs your knee, "ya such a star."
"A star?"
"A star," he gives you a smile.
He gives you your medicine and lays you back down.
As he leaves, he stops at the door and looks back at you. His heart falls a bit when he sees you breathing slowly, too slow for his liking.
He leaves for what felt like minutes and he's right back in your room. He takes off his work clothing and keeps his black boxers and white tank-top on. Bo comes on the other side of the bed and pulls you close. You rest on his shoulder and he brushes your hair.
"Yer sick," he whispers. "Fever ain't breakin', sweatin' lik' a sinner in church, sleepy and in need of help." His voice echoes in his chest, making you feel like you hear him in a cave. "Closed the shop, finished t'kill, Vincent's got a new project... hav'ta be a hen over a sick little chick." Bo's hand racks through your hair as you started to feel sleep take you again. "Sleep, y/n. There'll be monsters to fight t'morrow."
"You're not a monster," you hummed. Lazily, you lifted your hand and caress his check. "You're not a monster."
He lifts a brow and looks at you. He doesn't stop rubbing your back. "What am I then?" He asked curiously.
You snuggle up against his side and flutter your eyes close. You feel as safe and snuggled against him, his warmth lulling you to sleep. "A helper," you babble sleepily. "Best... helper..."
As you sleep, he kept an eye on you as a smile crept over his lips. He takes your hand and kisses your knuckles. "Sleep well, birdie," he whispers against your skin. "Sleep well. Dream of a better place than here."
Bo pulls you a little closer and kisses your forehead and ends up sleeping with you in his grasp.

10/100 okay, I must confess that drawing while standing is not my cup of tea
I joined the 3materialsdrawingchallenge hosted by @/kathryn_boyt, @/charlotte.durance and @/naomitippingillustrator. the aim is to draw every day for a 100 days from life using just 3 materials and for no more than 30 minutes.
materials: a green blue Neocolor, a red Van Gogh oil pastel and a pencil from Faber castell. The sketchbook page was prepped with acrylic paint.

Fictober day 5: “You’re the smartest person I know.”
Fandom: Major Crimes
Rating: G
Rusty was listening with one ear his mother and Andy talk. They were debating going to the movies or to the theater the next weekend, when the Lieutenant spoke about that Classical music concert in a chapel by candlelight. His mother grinned and exclaimed “Andy, you’re the smartest person I know.”
From anyone else, he would have thought that statement ironic, even sarcastic but not from his mother. She always looked at Andy with heart shaped eyes nowadays. And even though it pained him to say so, he must admit she had a point.
Andy was the biggest goofball on the face of Earth. God, he’ll always remember the lieutenant coming into his bedroom, his dick half outside his underwear, in the middle of the night as he wanted to use the restroom and got confused during his first (and secretive) night at the condo. Or that time he smashed his head into the bay window because they were “too clean”. Or when he took Sharon's phone by mistake and answered a call from the Pope on the can… but his heart was always in the right place.
And except being quite unlucky, Andy is actually really smart. Rusty thought him to be quite dumb when he first got to know him, maybe because of his goofy attitude or because other policemen said bad things about him, he’s not sure. But as he got to know him, first at PAB’s, he discovered how perceptive he was. Then, one day, over burger with the 2 oldest Lieutenant, he learnt that he has a masters in criminology, that he teaches at university. Sharon told him that he also has a bachelor in finances. He asked Andy once about it and was quite surprised by his answer. When he stopped drinking, he needed to stay busy so he wouldn't fall back. That’s how he started taking evening classes. One thing leading to another he found himself with several undergrad diplomas and a master degree.
But in Rusty eyes what made him truly the smartest person, like his mother said, was his thirst for knowledge. Sharon was fond of Art: painting, photography, dance, music… you name it. He could tell it wasn’t really Andy's cup of tea, at first, but he never turned her down, on the contrary. Rusty saw the lieutenant read about Van Gogh when he went to see an exhibition with his mother, or about Verdi before they went to see Aïda. Andy's real strength was that, like Sharon, he never took anything for granted and had a real genuine curiosity.
So yeah, Rusty would never say it out loud, never confess it to anyone but he agreed with his mother: Andy was one of the smartest person he knew, just after his mother.
Notes: For the "little story" part: one my friend owned a bar after serving in the Army and to avoid drinking, he decided to keep himself busy. He started to take university classes and now has a doctorate in History.

The family went to see the Beyond Van Gogh Exhibit. I loved it. It was wonderful and I recommend it.
I felt like I was in a dream. It was mesmerizing and even made me tearful at some points - stirring emotions.
The only thing that sucked was my pain. I can’t stand in one spot or sit (without a backing) for very long and I was in absolute brutal agony after an hour. (We got through the show in about an hour and 15 minutes.) I should have had a wheelchair. Anyway, live and learn. I’ve been still averaging only about 2-3 mg’s of hydromorphone a day which is hardly anything for someone in my situation. I need to not hesitate to take more if needed.
Anyway, seeing Van Gogh’s art come alive was really cool. It was worth the pain. lol. The accompanying music was perfect. The whole family really enjoyed the experience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a lot to read but it was written in a thoughtful and inspiring manner. There’s a few things I didn’t know about him and his work and am interested to read more. He had quite the life.
After the show, we went for dinner. I had a vegan rice bowl which was surprisingly delicious. I tend to hesitate on ordering vegan dishes because they’re often disappointing gross.
Tomorrow will be a long day. I have a CT scan (with contrast - yuck) and then will be bussing into the city (to another hospital) for some respiratory function testing right after. Aside from maybe walking to the local cafe, I don’t plan to go anywhere for the next 4 or 5 days. I need to recuperate and get back to a routine. My sister and niece will be heading home this weekend.
I have a cup of peppermint tea beside me and am contemplating a movie or a book. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. ☺️

My boyfriend got me a beautiful silk robe with the Van Gogh skeleton on it, a Van Gogh Sunflowers tea cup and saucer set, some cute little knickknacks all to my aesthetic and the frigging 1967 Baring-Gould Annotated Sherlock Holmes my Sherlock society uses for meetings and I’m deceased. I’m a puddle on the floor. I don’t know if I have ever felt so seen, so loved, so understood in all my life.

so tired of people saying hating is cool!!! no!! life is full of love!! don't you see loving is a cat sleeping in a sunny patch?? it's a cup of tea when you've stayed out in the rain too long! it's waking up on a sunday morning!! don't you see that loving is an act of rebellion?? yes the world is terrible and cruel and we should love in spite of it!! we are human! aren't we defined by our love?? yes people will remember the terrible deeds that have marred our history, but people aspire to be emily dickenson, shakespeare, van gogh, monet!! we are our love nothing else should matter!! aren't you tired of it? being mean and cruel? to love is to truly live!!!

Which books did I dnf in 2022?
I thought it might be interesting to look at the few books I decided to dnf this year. I have also put a few books on hold although I am sure I will pick them up again in the future. The books I did dnf have a much lower chance of being picked up again, but never say never, I guess.
From The Earth To The Moon by Jules Vernes
This is the first book I dnf-ed this year. I started listening to the audiobook and gave up on it after a couple of hours at best. I very quickly realized I had no interest in the story nor the way it was being told. It felt too technical to follow for some reason and it took out any excitement I might have had for this classic. I have never read anything else by Verne but to be honest now I am intimidated, because I am not sure whether his writing style was the problem or the story itself. I doubt I will give a second chance to this book in particular but as I said never say never.
Fatal Eggs by Mikhail Bulgakov
Yet another book I started as an audiobook and gave up because I realized I had zero interest in it. I had appreciated Bulgakov's writing in audio form with The Master And Margerita, so in this case I am pretty sure it was just the story that wasn't for me. Again this is one of those books I dnf-ed knowing I'll probably never pick it up again.
Ring Shout by P. Djèlì Clark
I would have never thought I'd dnf this book and yet here we are. The base idea is genious in my opinion, having people from the kkk being actual demons and having people hunting them was a really cool take, but for some reason this book failed to pull me into the story. I am not sure whether it was the slower pace, or the writing. I think I will probably give this book another chance in the future, but not in the near future I think. As I said I was really hyped for the book, but I am not sure where we didn't connect tbh.
The Secret Life Of Trees by Peter Wohlleben
I tried to get into this non-fiction book twice, because the informations in it are super interesting, and this should be totally my cup of tea, but I really did not like the writing. I feel like the author was trying to be funny when he could have just simplified the informations to make it accessible. I don't even know, I just really did not like the way it is written. I am still interested in the informations, so I might try it again in the future, but at the moment I cannot read straight through it.
Van Gogh's Letters to his brother Theo
I don't consider this book a dnf, I consider it being on hold. I starte reading it while I was working on my thesis, and I felt like it was not a read I was enjoying at the time as much as I could have so I simply decided to save the rest of the epistolary collection for another moment of my life. I might even decided to slowly get to it bit by bit, but I have not yet planned for it, because I'll wait to be in the right mood to enjoy it fully.
Genderqueer and Non-Binary Genders reviewd by Christina Richards and Meg John Barker
If I had a physical copy of this book I would have probably read it in a week. Unluckly I have a digital copy, which is the main reason this book was put on hold just like the previous of the list. I have grown to despise digital books, my focus is terrible on them for some reason, and I always inevitablly end up being incredibly inconsistent. I want to finish this book, but it's painful to even think about reading it digitally. What I read of this book was incredibly interesting ,and I really want to learn more, but I believe I'll have to plan this reading if I really want to finish it on the future (and spoiler, I want to).

ty for the questions 😊
9. 3 things you like to do on a rainy day
1. usually stay inside. I like to curl up with a cup of tea or coffee and watch the rain out the window
2. set aside some time for a creative hobby whilst i’m sat by the window. lately this has been crochet or writing
3. sometimes i like to go outside and enjoy the rain. If I’m in a fierce mood and the rain is fierce I’ll stand outside and sing to the rain, it’s v cathartic to me. I also love to enjoy the light drizzle on a warm spring or summer evening.
15. 3 quotes that that have a special place in your life
So many this is impossible for me 😭 these are just some that have been floating around my mind recently
1. ‘Everybody’s dying to be somebody else, but i’ll live my life if it kills me’ by E. E Cummings
2. ‘And if you missed a day, there was always the next, and if you missed a year, it didn’t matter, the hills weren’t going anywhere, the thyme and rosemary kept coming back, the sun kept rising, the bushes kept bearing fruit’ - an excerpt of Sunrise by Louise Glück
3. ‘It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.’ by Vincent Van Gogh
24. 3 places that makes you feel peaceful
1. my bed lol (I’m a sleepy girl)
2. my local beach. every ocean and sea calms me, but I’ve been walking down to my local beach for 20 years now, and it is special to me
3. my grandparents orchard and the small village it lies in. for me it is the safest place in the world, and full of cherished memories from the best moments of my life ❤️

Hiya dashing Paola I just thing you are the most wonderful & an amazingly talented creator with art, writing & make-up in your bag what else can't you do? 😆❤️ Your ability to inspire & impress me has no bounds ily 💖
I wanted to ask who or what are your art inspirations?
Do you have a special place tonget inspired or make your art?
What's your favourite medium to create with?
How do you handle art block?
Also if I were to go to Italy where would be the first place you'd take me & what foods would you get me to try? 😘😘😘
myn, my beloved, how are you the sweetest person on this planet? like you manage to put a smile on my face every single time 🥺💙 ilysm!!
i have a lot of art inspirations! first of all our dear ian and mickey have inspired me endlessly these last eighteen months. 70% of my paintings/drawings are about them! but also whatever makes me happy or pleases my eye: a sunset, the beach, blooming trees, plants. my friends! i love making art for them. i love doing makeup for them too! drag queens are a big, big inspo as well. alfons mucha! van gogh! my wonderful grandma. virginia woolf! italo calvino! remarque!
i feel the most inspired when i’m high on the rooftop of my building or down below by the sea, feet in the sand and salty skin 🌊 anywhere i feel at peace, really ☁️
my favorite medium to create with is a toss-up between my ipad and my own face lol like i’ve only very recently gotten into digital art (just last july!) but i’ve been playing with makeup (glam, sfx, artistic, anything) since i was 12, so it’s a big part of my artistic journey!
the way i deal with art blocks is i have a means of expressing my ideas that i keep to myself for the most part; something that’s for me only. a lot of the time what stops me from creating, my biggest hindrance, is the fear of not being good enough. of not meeting a certain standard that people have put on me (but that, really, i have put on myself, by myself) so i just stop creating altogether. but whenever i paint with oils on a real canvas (i’m really not great at it!), or stitch, or cook, or sing, or skate, it’s just me. i’m doing it for myself, nobody will see me but me. so it takes the pressure off a bit! i believe you should always create for yourself first, but sometimes it’s hard not to put what you think other people would want from you first instead. so i literally do something fun like no one is watching!
and oooh my goodness!! any time i get to talk about italy i’m so so happy 😭🇮🇹 of course i’d take you to rome! florence! milan! but then i’d show you around my city too! it’s smaller and not as well known, but it’s really beautiful. i’d take you to the old part of town, made entirely out of white stones and marble, to the old wall flanking it, surrounded by the sea. we’d have gelato because duh! and then focaccia—which we’re known for here! then, if you’re into it, there’s like toooons of seafood here! we could go fish it ourselves if we wanted 😌 but if that’s not your cup of tea, then i’d take you to my place of work (which is also a place where i spent a lot of my childhood!!), a uni campus for agronomy students, and we could harvest our own produce from the fields and make our own fresh salads or lettuce wraps!!
Tumblr media
hello from the beans!!
and of course we’d go to my favorite restaurant too, where someone sings every night and each table has a wonderful view like this 💙
Tumblr media
i talk too much!! sorry!! ily!!! 💙💙💙💙

MEET THE EMBERS HIGH STAFF: GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, DR. DAWN HARDIN
Way back when, most of Dawn Hardin’s classmates were surprised when he dropped his visual arts major in favor of psychology, after ending up with a full ride to art school from his high school painting portfolio. Anyone who knew him wasn’t surprised in the least, his parents having been more excited about making his artistic talent his career than he was. Ten years later, most of Dr. Dawn Hardin’s old colleagues were surprised when he closed his private practice only a few years after opening it to instead go and work as the guidance counselor at Embers High, but anyone who knew Dawn personally wasn’t surprised in the least. The adoption process is difficult, to say the least, for someone who’s single, no matter how successful, and the discouragement from dealing with the system unsuccessfully led him to search for fulfillment in other ways. There was no way not to notice that several of his teenage patients came from the same school, which formed the idea of finding a way to help more kids who needed the specific kind of support he’s always been an expert at providing. He didn’t realize so many of the adults around might need it, too, but his office door is always open to anyone who needs an ear, and a nice cup of tea.
WHERE YOU CAN FIND HIM: Guiding any and every student through teenage crises both academic and personal, doing the same for the staff, too, on the down low. Spending more time sketching between talking to students than doing the paperwork he needs to do. Sitting in the front row of football games enthusiastically pretending he understands the rules. Sewing and/or painting for the Drama Club, usually in the woodworking shop either way.
WHAT’S IT LIKE IN THE GUIDANCE COUNSELOR’S OFFICE: Cozy and comforting, more like a therapist’s office than a guidance counselor’s office, with lots of tissues, a seemingly endless supply of tea, and a fresh batch of whatever baked good Dawn’s been perfecting at home. The other most likely place to find students crying besides outside of gym class.
WHERE HE IS AFTER SCHOOL: Spending too much time thrifting for the Drama Club’s costumes. Volunteering his mental health services at the local shelter. Baking enough to feed an army, or painting barefoot on his porch. Cuddling on the couch with his cat, Vincent van Gogh, and only his cat, certainly not an infamous football coach he’s been known to be seen at Home Depot with or anything.

Do you have a china set? What is is like/where did you get it?
I do actually! I got it online with leftover student loans from my undergrad. It's 6 cups/saucers/spoons (though a couple of the spoons are broken now) with different Van Gogh paintings on them, including my favourite, The Sower
Tumblr media
The spoons are tiny and not great for measuring regular tea leaves but are weirdly the perfect size for measuring matcha, which is a fun bonus since I have matcha most mornings
Can't remember the name of the website sadly but a quick google suggests they're available lots of places

I hit the Van Gogh episode while baking and I’ve decided that’s what I’ll treat myself to tonight ^_^ Insha’Allah saving it for when I can watch with a cup of tea and some dessert
0 notes
Good evening! I hope you've had a pleasant day. ✨
In regards to your previous answers, how lovely! I enjoy mornings too most of the time, and I must agree that nice hot cup of tea to start the day off is always very refreshing.
I haven't had a chance to pay a visit to London either, but I would love to go as well, if only to study the history and architecture. I'd also like to visit the museums and art galleries there. I've always wanted to see Van Gogh's Sunflowers for myself. Speaking of art, you're quite the artist as well, Professor! The watch is very pretty.
May I ask what happened after the events of Unwound Future, if you recall? Also, you mentioned before about having memories not quite canon about residing in the Bostonius. Does that also imply you were close with your brother, Professor Sycamore?
❓ Curious Anon
Good morning! I did not front at all last night, and the alter who was fronting wasn’t certain if she was allowed to answer the questions for me, so apologies about the late response. The museums are certainly a place I’d like to see, though now that it’s brought up, I’m certain we’d like to visit some art galleries as well. Thank you for your compliment on my work, haha!
I have memories of certain events after Unwound Future, and when New World of Steam was announced, those were integrated as well. My memories after canon aren’t exactly clearly defined events, but more of things I know happened. I recall parts of the rebuilding of London, and a general recovery of my own mental health after that night.
I was very close with Desmond, as I was with the other people I traveled with. Living in close quarters forces a bond that’s difficult to replicate, not mentioning the things we went through. There was a level of distance between him and I that didn’t exist with the others, because he did his best to keep his distance. However, we were still quite close.
