What Could Have Been {Arcane Fanfic}

Summery:

What if Vi and Powder were separate as young kids during the war?

What if Vander finds Vi and takes her in?

What if Silco finds Powder and takes her in?

How would this story of two sisters who will become enemies to each other.

Chapter One - What A Wonderful World

(In Piltover)

It was a normal day in the Piltover, a young girl with pink hair named Violet but her family called her Vi for short and another little girl with blue hair named Powder.

They were with their father while shopping around town for some food and stuff, as they were walking around Vi noticed that there’s a lot of Enforcers all over the town.

“Hey dad, why are there so many guards out here, what’s going on?” said Vi while Powder looks up at her sister with a confused expression.

“Don't worry Vi, I'm sure that everything's okay c'mon let’s go." he said as they started heading home but Vi was being too distracted by all of the Enforcers.

Later at home Vi, her sister and her father made it home as they saw a man talking to their mother “Kids, i need you to go in your room” said Henry.

They nodded as Vi and Powder went to their room. While they were waiting, Vi was watching at her window seeing her parents.

“Henry, Jessica I need you to tell you that you need to get your children out of Piltover, there’s a war going on right now.”

“But where do we go? Where can we live?” Said Jessica as she began to worry.

“You all can live with me in the Undercity.”

“But isn’t it dangerous, i don’t want to put my daughters in danger.”

“Don’t worry, I promise that I won't let anything happen to your children.” Henry nodded

"I'll come back for you guys later on but be ready once I get back."

They nodded as both him and his wife went inside of their home, Vi then quickly moved out of the window while her parents walked in their room.

“Kids, there’s something that me and your mother need you to tell you about.” he said as they all sat down together. ”We want to tell you that we’re moving…to….the Undercity.”

“The Undercity?” Said Powder as they nodded but then Vi got up with an angry expression “We can't move! This is our home!” “We’re sorry Vi we can’t do anything about it.” said Jessica as she left her chin up. “Please Violet, this is very serious.”

“Right now we’re at war, the Undercity is our only hope and we don’t want to see any of you two get hurt.” “But wait, didn’t you used to be an Enforcer mom? Couldn’t you talk to them and stop this?”

“Unforcenly no, I stopped working as an Enforcer a long time ago. After everything that I've seen what we did to the people from the Undercity, I never wanted to harm anyone.” Both Vi and Powder were speechless but they understood everything.

(In The Undercity)

Meanwhile in the Undercity, a man named Vander who was walking home from Piltover but then sees an old friend of his.

“Ah, it’s about time that you show up.” He stops and turns around and sees a man who is leaning against the wall from the building.

"Silco.”

“Long time no see, brother.”

"What the hell are you doing here?”

“Aw come on now, i just wanted to see you.”

“If you're going to ask me to join you, then no.” He said as Silco let out a groan and went up to him.

"Why? Why can't you understand this! This is our feature, taking over the whole Undercity! The Nation of Zaun needs us."

"Us? There is no us! This is all on you! I never wanted to be a part of this vision of yours!"

He was about to walk away but then Silco grabbed Vander's shoulder all rough "You're making a big mistake brother, you will regret this!"

"Please Silco…I'm trying to protect you brother." said Vander as he begged Silco not to do this plan but he was angry at him so Silco walked away leaving Vander alone.

Later on, Vander went to Benzo’s Pawn Shop to talk to his other friend.

“There you are, what the hell took you so long?” Benzo said as he was cleaning the bookshelf

“Sorry, I was speaking with Henry and Jessica earlier today.”

“What was it?” he said as he stopped himself cleaning the bookshelf and sat down on his chair.

“I told them that they can stay at my place with me and my boys.”

“And what did they say?”

“They said that they're gonna talk to the girls and I'm gonna meet them at the bridge and take them with me."

"Have they been here before? What if they can't breathe the air that we're in?"

"Don't worry, they come here every now and then so they're used to it."

"That's good, what about your boys? Do they need to share a room with them?"

"I'm not sure, but we figured something out once they arrived." He nodded as two young boys came into the workshop. One was a big kid who was wearing goggles and one boy who was skinny with messy black hair.

“Mylo, Clagger, thank goodness that you two are here. I need to talk to both of you.”

"What is it Vander?"

"You boys know that I'm bringing a family to live with us, right?"

“Yeah of course we do.”

“Since they’re coming here, I wanted them and their daughters to live with us for now.” he said as both Mylo and Clagger took a moment to think about it and they nodded.

“Thanks boys, I promise that you kids will get along.” He said as he patted both of the boy’s heads and they smiled.

“Now go on and play you little rascals.” they nodded as they went outside.

(In Piltover)

"Vi, may I speak with you for a moment?" Jessica comes in as Vi gets up to meet up with her mother.

"What is it?"

“I want you to promise me something, i need you to promise that you will take care of Powder no matter what happens to us, I need you to promise that the both of you will look out for one another."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I want you to tell me this because, in case…something happens to us." Vi's eyes started to tear up

"No I won't let anything happen to you and we don't want to lose any of you."

"Please Violet, promise me, promise dad, promise us that you will protect Powder." She slowly nodded,

"Good, we love you both so much."

"We love you too." She kisses Vi's forehead, she takes off her necklace and hands it to Vi.

"You're giving me your necklace?"

"Mmhm, I just thought that I should give this to you and besides, it looks better on you than me."

She smiles and puts the necklace on Vi's neck. "It's perfect, thanks mom."

They then hear Henry and Powder walk in. "Jess, you got everything ready?"

"Yes, you girls ready?" They both nodded as they started heading out.

(In The Undercity)

As Vander finished cleaning up the bar he found a note from Silco.

“Meet me at the river, you and I had unfinished business to do. - Silco”

Vander sighed and worried what his brother might do, so he decided to meet up with him at the river but then stopped by Benzo.

"Hey, are you closing the bar early?"

"Yeah."

"What? Do you have a date or something?"

"Actually no, I'm actually seeing my brother."

"Your brother, you mean Silco? What the hell does that rat want from you?"

"He just wanted to talk with me, that's all."

"Vander, you know that we don't trust him!”

“I know that, but I can still talk to him.”

"Vander, what if he tried to kill you?"

"He won't Ben, I know my brother and I know that he won't hurt me." he says, he turns around let out a soft sigh and heads out.

(At the River Lake)

Meanwhile he made it to the river but then he saw Silco standing there with an angry expression on his face.

"Silco, please you don't have to do this."

"It's already too late! I give you a chance Vander but you won't listen to me!"

"I'm trying to protect you! Don't you realize how much danger that you're putting yourself in!? Do you want to be locked up in Stillwater for the rest of your life!?“ he said, as he broke down into tears fearing that he'd lose his brother.

Silco scoffed with a smile and chuckled "Really? Tears? You think crying is gonna stop me?” Silco says, Vander looks up at him again and sighs with anger but then Silco stops smiling as Vander pulls out his pocket knife.

“Please Silco…don’t make me do this…”

Silco was speechless but felt betrayed by his only brother, the person who he grew up with. His childhood friend who he knew ever since they were kids.

But then suddenly Silco began to charge at Vander and strike him down, he then missed him and grabbed his wrist and hit him a couple of times. Silco then gets up and strikes Vander once more but then suddenly.

" AUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!" He screams in pain when Vander stabs him in his left eye.

Silco pushed him away and took the knife out of his eye but then Vander pushed Silco back and landed in the river.

But it wasn't any type of river, it was a river that was full of toxic and dirt and he felt it in his eye as he was struggling to breathe.

He felt like he was drowning and couldn't breathe at all, as soon as he felt like he was going to pass out he felt another pocket knife and took it out and stabbed Vander in the forearm and he got out of the water.

Vander takes the pocket knife out of his forearm and sees that Silco is gone, he then remembers something when he realizes that he had to meet up with Henry and Jessica and their daughters at the bridge, so he then starts running to piltover.

Meanwhile Silco was running away while covering his wounded eye, he hid himself behind a building as he sat down on the ground. He then hears someone right next to him.

“Are you alright young man?” Silco looked up at the man with grayish brown hair.

‘Who are you?”

“My name is Singed, what’s your name boy?”

“Silco…”

“What happened to your eye, Silco?” he tries to touch it but he flinches away.

“It’s all right, I'm a doctor here.” Silco slowly moves closer to Singed as he checks his eye.

“Who did this to you?” he said as he cleaned his left eye.

“My brother, he and I had a fight and he ended up stabbing my eye out.”

“I see, why don’t you come with me to my office? I can help you with your eye.”

“Why should I go with you? I hardly even know you and how can I even trust you?”

“I’m the only one who can help you heal your eye and I have this very special medicine to make your eye feel better.”

“What kind of medicine?”

“I actually can’t tell you because it isn’t finished but in the meantime let me help you.” Silco nodded as they headed to Singed’s office.

After an hour passed by, Singed was finished doing surgery with Silco, he was still numb from his left eye.

"How long does it take for this to heal?" Said Silco, as Singed as he cleaned up his tools.

"It might take a day or two but for now you need some rest.” he nodded as Silco gets up and lay on the bed.

"Listen, if you don't have any place to live you can stay here whenever you like."

"Thanks, I owe you one." He said as he lay down and slowly started to sleep.

(Meanwhile at the Bridge)

Meanwhile Henry, Jessica and their daughters were walking around in Piltover meeting up with Vander at the bridge.

"Hey, you alright Pow-pow?" said Vi as she held her sister's hand.

"No, I'm scared, Vi."

"Don't be scared, it's gonna be okay." She then gives Powder her toy bunny.

“Here you go.”

“Thanks Vi.” she smiles as they both hug each other. Few minutes later they finally made it to the bridge,

"Look! We finally made it, come on!" Said Henry

As soon Henry, Jessica and their daughters made it to the bridge they were stopped by the Enforcers.

" STOP RIGHT THERE!!!" said one of the Enforcers as Vi and Powder went behind them, then their mother looked at them and quickly yelled at both of them.

"VI, POWDER, RUN!!!" Vi then grabbed Powder's hand and started running across the bridge, two of the Enforcers ran after them while the other three were with their parents.

Suddenly Powder let's go of Vi's hand and tries to go after her parents.

"Powder don't!" As soon as she was about to run after them, they heard two gunshots and saw their parents laying down on the ground dead.

"MOMMY!!! DADDY!!!“ Powder screams while Vi watches in fear but then she grabs Powder's hand again and starts running.

"Powder, stay close to-“ there was a big explosion that caused both of them to separate, Vi was on the ground while Powder was hanging on the edge of the bridge.

“Powder! Hang on!” she said as Vi tries to get up but she was too weak to move

“Vi! I can’t hold on!” She couldn’t hang on much long but once Vi got up and ran to her it was too late.

“POWDER!!!!!!” Vi screams as her little sister falls into the river.

“NOOOO!!!!! POWDER!!!!!” She fell to her knees as she cried.

She then hears the rest of the Enforcers coming after her but then stops for a moment and hears them getting beat up.

And then a man appeared and it was the same person who was there at their home talking to her parents.

“Vi? Vi is that you?"

"Who…who are you?"

"I'm an old friend of your parents, wait where's your mom and dad? Where's your sister?" He then sees both of her parents laying down on the ground dead.

“Oh god…dammit i’m too late, i swear to god i'm gonna kill Silco once i see him again.” he faces Vi who is still crying and he kneels down at her.

“What are we gonna do? I...i saw my sister fall into the river, she’s still out there! We can still save her!”

“I know but right now we have to get out of here, I promise I will find your sister.” she nodded.

“Come on, I'll take you home with me.” he held her hand and took her home.

(In The Undercity)

Meanwhile Powder makes it to the surface and slowly gets out of the water, she stands up and shivers so much and looks around but she doesn't recognize the place that she’s at.

She picks her toy bunny and walks around town, “Hello? Is anyone here?” she cries out but there’s hardly anyone out here, she keeps looking around hoping that she sees someone.

She starts to cry and gives up hope but then she hears footsteps and hears a man's voice.

Silco was in his room healing from his new eye, it was tough to see but he was getting used to it. He got out of bed and went out for some fresh air but suddenly he saw something far away but it was getting closer and closer, so he walked up to it to get a better look.

As he walked up to a strange figure it was a small little girl with blue hair holding a stuffed bunny but she was crying and didn't realize a man was in front of her. So he went on one knee to get down on her level.

“Hello little girl, what are you doing here in the dark? Where are your parents?”

He said in a calm voice but she was frightened by his left eye and she fell down on the ground.

“It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you.” He reaches his hand out to help her up.

"Could you tell me why you're out here alone?" She tried everything that she could to explain herself but she was still scared after everything that she saw.

"Mm…my parents…they're gone….*sobbing* and I lost my sister…and I don't know where I am…*shaking voice* I'm so scared, I miss them."

She starts to cry even more while Silco stares at her wondering what he's gonna do with her, so he reaches out to her and hugs her.

"It's okay, I promise I won't let anything happen to you and I'll take care of you." She nodded as she nuzzled her face and hugged him back.

"What's your name, little one?" He asked curiously.

"Powder." She said it shyly.

"Powder, that's a nice name." He smiles softly as he whips her tears away and he picks her up.

“Come child, I'll take you home with me.” He picks her up and carries her inside of his new home.

“What’s your name sir?”

“My name’s Silco.”

“What happened to your eye Mr Silco?”

“Me and my bro- well my old friend of mine had a huge fight and we didn’t agree on one another.”

“Don’t you usually talk to your friend first?”

“I've tried many times but he wouldn’t listen to me.”

“He doesn’t sound friendly at all.”

“No…no he wasn’t…i thought that i could trust him, but i was wrong.” Powder nodded as she nuzzled her head to his chest and fell asleep into his arms.
