 scott     was     born     the     oldest     of     three     siblings,     having     grown     up     only     knowing     of    alex.   a     tragic     plane     crash     led     scott     to     being     orphaned     (     little     did     he     know      that     alex     had     survived     )     and     during     the     crash     scott     sustained     a     concussion      that     would     end     up     messing     with     his     ability     to     control     his     optic     blasts     in      the     way     that     alex     can.     xavier     would     end     up     finding     scott     and     taking     him     in      as     his     first     student     and     x-man    at     the     xavier’s     school     for     the     gifted.      eventually,     xavier     would     form     the     first     team     of     x-men     that     was     made     up     of      bobby     drake,     warren     worthington,     hank     mccoy,     jean     grey,     and     scott.   scott’s      devotion     to     his     training     and     his     often     grave     demeanor     was     would     lead     him      to      becoming     the     leader     of     the     x-men,     but,     although    there     were     many     quarrels      here     and     there,     scott     considered     the     team     his     family     in     many     ways.

over   the   past   years,   things   have   changed   drastically.   there   have   been   highs   and   lows   for   mutant   kind,   and   scott   has   all   but   been   baptized   by   chaos.   being   pushed   aside   by   human   kind   has   in   a   way   radicalized   him.   scott   isn’t   keen   on   playing   nice   and   has   strayed   away   from   the   beliefs   of   xavier   as   he   no   longer   holds   out   any   hope   that   anyone   will   be   willing   to   die   and   fight   for   mutantkind;   evidently   he   is   willing   to   do   both.   scott,   alongside   emma   and   jean,   are   headmasters   of   the   xavier   institute,   and   with   the   current   case   of   disappearing   mutants,   scott   has   been   restless   and   paranoid.   he   really   isn’t   happy   about   working   alongside   people   he   essentially   doesn’t   trust   but   its   a   neccessary   evil.

- eddie lived a normal life before venom: spending years, working as the head journalist at the daily globe and dating gwen stacy. he was a normal happy guy. most of his success was a result of his work on the sin eater articles, interviews and accounts with an infamous new york serial killer

- when spider-man brought the real sin eater to justice, peter parker at the daily globe exposed brock as a fraud. everything eddie had worked for came tumbling down. the daily globe fired him on the spot. gwen was pressured into breaking up with him. brock’s friends all turned their back on the ex-reporter. he had no one. 

- that all changed on the night he met venom. eddie was walking home from gwen’s when a black oily substance made contact with him before disappearing. it was a simbiote (klyntar). the pair would spend the next several days acclimating to the simbiote/host lifestyle. they came to an agreement that they would do what they could to protect the neighborhood and protect the innocent - as if to emulate spider-man if that’s what gwen wanted. they filled the role of a typical anti-hero, only eating bad guys.

- everything changed the night gwen stacy died. when eddie learned the circumstances of his death and how exactly spider-man was involved, something snapped inside of brock. the goofy good guy seemed to disappear, giving way to rage and revenge. the pair began to plot our the next attacks on spider-man, learning everything there was to learn about peter parker.

- they’re planning on using the excitement of the missing mutants to shift the focus from eddie/venom and onto whoever is behind the disappearances so he can exact his revenge on spider-man.

- eddie’s a pretty reserved guy, unsure of who he can trust anymore. his new life with venom has made him a little more cold and calloused. underneath all of that is a same sweet guy who used to show up early at the daily globe. venom reflects his true nature, the pair of them always throwing jokes back and forth. 

- venom is quick to fire and always wanting a fight but eddie tries to think everything through. even after his breakdown with gwen and peter, brock refuses to allow any harm to innocent life. he’s still human! he has a strong bond with venom, willing to go great lengths to save the simbiote and vice versa. 

- eddie and venom live alone in their small nyc apartment, distancing themselves from any social circles as to avoid any trouble with the law or spider-man. under the radar.

harley studied pshycology before she met the joker, everything was normal in her life but even if that was true, since she was a kid, deep inside she had a dark mind, even if it was hidden.

when she met the joker in the asylum, she just fell in love with him or thought that it was love and he was able to bring out the crazy and dark part of her and that’s how harley quinn appeared becoming one of the most dangerous criminals in gotham.

she has been with the joker creating chaos eveywhere, however, even if she followed him because she felt love toward him, that doesn’t mean that he treated her right, no, on the opposite, he used to treat her really bad and eventually they broke up, he just dumped her and that didn’t really suit her well but she just decided to move on.

basically i’m setting harley on her movies suicide squad and birds of prey but also i’m mixing the comics her background and some people that she met there as well.

jean grey is an omega leval mutant with vast empathetic and telepathic abilities that were traumatically awakened when witnessing the fatal accident of her best friend. she was 10 when this happened and was never the same the same since. now unable to control her powers and in an withdrawn state, she isolated herself from the world. 

for several years after this, jean was seen by professor xavior for ‘treatment’ but he too was obviously a mutant. over time he taught her how to use her powers but after her subconscious had reached out to scott, barriers were put up by charles until he felt she was ready to use them. this made her bitter as she found out.

after enrolling her in his school for gifted youngsters, she joined the x-men as one of the first founding members. she went by the alias marvel girl and trained together with the other 4 members in the danger room. she still works with them today.

during this time jean developed a crush on scott summers we been knew, :rollingeyeemoji: even if they don’t get along 24/7. the bond she shares with him will be eternal and no one will ever be like him.

time displaced jean doesn’t happen so we shall ignore that comic ! 

after jean graduates from xaviers school she enrolls in metro college, now only working part-time with the x-men but missed working with her teammates. after awhile she was able to return as a full member and confessed her luv for scott. how romantic KFJNFKF. at this time charles also gave her full control of her powers. 

when the x-men disbanded for a short period of time, jean started a new modeling job. it went pretty well but didn’t last long as she was quickly reunited with her teammates to fight mesmero and magneto and helped charles the whole time in secret to stop the invasion. 

while on a mission in space with the fantastic four and the new x-men team, they had to escape back to earth in a shuttle during a solar radiation storm, and offered to pilot. while piloting the radiation was too much and jean began to succumb to its lethal effects. but instead of dying, she merged with the phoenix force in order to keep her and her teammates safe. during this, she fell into a coma from her injuries and was cocooned while the phoenix delivered its promise on getting her and her teammates back to earth safely. 

but instead of waking, jean was trapped at the bottom of the ocean in the cocoon and the dark phoenix was quick to take over. we all know she did some ugly ass shit but she did not destroy a whole planet of people! she just caused a lot of chaos and after finally coming back to herself, she realizes she wouldn’t be able to control the phoenix force and sacrificed herself in order to save the world basically. death number 1 for jean.

during the time of her death she was in the white room, during this time jean came to terms with what she did after being confronted by death itself, and together the two created houses for the souls that had fallen to the dark phoenix. during this time he explains to her she’s meant to be the phoenix and she should live and learn once more how to control it after she is forced to experience her destruction once more. 

still in the cocoon, jean rejects the phoenix due to being unable to handle the horrible pain the dark phoenix had caused. also, the madelyne pryor storyline does not happen here i do not like it ty! 

the avengers are actually the one to find jean at the bottom of the ocean and return her back to the x-men. when she returns to them, she at first has no recollection of what happened with the phoenix force. with their help though she’s able to remember. 

she comes back to a world full of anti-mutant sentiment that had risen while she was gone, and very confused as to why they were working with magneto. 

p much after that she just continues to work with the x-men in a variety of issues and continues to work on her powers i don’t feel like typing all of it LMAO. 

i will say that the whole floating on a asteroid and logan trying to kill jean so she doesn’t die a slow death is v sweet to me but she kept coming back bc of the phoenix force LMAO. they return to earth fine though and she is killed when xorn blasts her w an electromagnetic pulse. she died in scotts arms it was v sad but she told him she understood and wanted him to live on. some sad shit. death number 3 for jean.

she comes back to life again thanks to the phoenix force but it tries to go evil again ( we aren’t surprised ) and once again logan had to kill her several times and finally after returning to life she came back as herself and froze herself in ice to prevent any harm. death 2085059 for jean. 

binch returned once more when she was melted out of the ice and for once and for all put the phoenix force in its place but it tried to turn her evil again. but with the help of emma and the cuckoos they were able to stabilize it and she returns to the white room to become one with the phoenix and grow. so death again?????

after all this shit happens she becomes the acting head mistress of xaviers school and essentially runs the place. now she’s working with the others to figure out why mutants / superhumans are disappearing all over the city and she’s not happy about it.

Personality and relationships

Pietro is a flirt, a troublemaker and a lil shit. He can be very blunt and uses humor and bitterness to hide his trauma.

He’s stubborn and overconfident, ready to take a challenge even when his enemies are far stronger than him.

He’s very protective of Wanda, the only family he has left. The twins have always been close, and the successive tragedies in their lives only brought them closer.

Pietro works with the Avengers, but he isn’t close to many of them. He might joke with nearly everyone and flirt with half the people he meets, but he rarely trusts someone. When that happens, though, his loyalty can hardly be shaken.

Stealing from the rich or from big companies to give to everyday people (or just to himself) is one of his favorite past times. He’s made some contacts thanks to his illegal activities, but he’s not organized or formal about it in any way. 

Backstory

Pietro’s backstory mostly matches the MCU version. 

He was born in Sokovia, where he spent his childhood with Wanda and their parents. Both Pietro and his sister had latent powers that wouldn’t fully manifest until much later in their lives.

The twins are mutants, adopted by their sokovian parents. They grew up not knowing that their biological father is Erik Lehnsherr, aka Magneto.

When the twins were 10, a mortar shell hit their family home, killing their parents. Pietro and Wanda were hiding under the bed when a second missile hit, but didn’t go off. The twins stayed hidden, a few feet from the shell, until they were rescued two days later. During all that time, they stared at the shell, fearing it would go off. On it, they could read “Stark Industries”. The episode left Pietro scarred for life, with a profound despise for the Stark name.

Pietro and Wanda were later radicalized, rioting against American forces and their heros, notably Tony Stark and the Avengers. They were manipulated by HYDRA and became test subjects of Wolfgang von Strucker. The tests developed Pietro’s superspeed ability.

The twins were manipulated by both HYDRA and Ultron, but ended up realizing that they were fighting for the wrong side. They joined the Avengers, though Pietro doesn’t really feel like a part of the team. He can work well with them, and actually trusts some of them, but he’s still hurt and wary.

Around that time, the twins found HYDRA files about them and their origins, revealing that they were both mutants. Pietro was in a bit of a shock with two particular lines in his file: “Father: Lehnsherr, Erik. Siblings: Maximoff, Wanda. Dane, Lorna”. He had never imagined his family going beyond his twin and his adoptive parents, and he is still trying to figure out what that means for him and Wanda.

a demon came to one of their performances and possessed the nightclub owner's daughter, astra. john tried to perform an exorcism to save her but failed and her soul got sucked to hell and in return means his will when he dies as well

this whole event has plagued his life and as a result he suffers from ptsd from the incident

moved to london to try to get away from it all, but he’s a whole mess there too

another event that tortures him is the séance that led to giovanni zatara's death, which he feels immensely guilty for and as a result he tries to help giovanni's daughter, zatanna zatara, whenever he can. even if their relationship is... complicated.

due to everything that's happened in his life, he's incredibly cynical about pretty much everything

he prefers to work alone but sometimes works with justice league dark and enjoys annoying the hell out of bruce wayne

anna was born mostly in an attempt by her parents to fix their deteriorating marriage after getting married so quickly into their relationship.

not long after anna was born her parents were recruited into a nature loving commune (cult) whose goal was to reach a native american mythological dreamland, where the rules of the physical world no longer applied.

something went wrong with the ritual and her mom along with the commune vanished.

her dad, not knowing where else to turn went to his wife’s sister, carrie, to help him raise her.

it was a strict upbringing, since her aunt didn’t want her to repeat the mistakes of her mother, but the whole unattainable aspect of her made her desirable to most of the boys in town.

eventually she fell in love with one boy in particular, cody.

the night they shared their first kiss, anna’s first kiss ever, she developed her power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact and left the boy in a lifelong coma.

after the other townsfolk discovered her abilities they ambushed her home with torches and guns.

her father fought off the mob while she ran off into the swamplands. not long after this is when she ran into raven darkholme, the mutant known as mystique, who took her in as her own daughter.

in time mystique turned rogue's loneliness, envy, bitterness, and despair into anger, using that to get her to join the brotherhood of evil mutants.

rogue fought with the brotherhood for a while before she turned to the x-men, more specifically charles xavier, to help her with the effects of her powers. since absorbing people’s life energy also had her absorb their memories and it was essentially overloading her own mind.

after this the professor invited her into the x-men, even though the others were weary about her joining the team. eventually she was welcomed

she still struggles to keep her powers in check at times and the trauma of putting people in the hospital because of them has her usually wearing body-concealing clothing that eliminates the possibility of accidental skin contact but she’s learned to deal, even choosing to become a mentor for younger mutants.

grew up in a very wealthy family who dealt with commercial trading

but they’re like… Rich Rich…. like they Been rich since the 1600′s, rich

emma’s mutation started manifesting itself when she was a teen and she used this in order to become the top of her class

tho after her father found out she was having an affair with one of her teachers, she dipped and basically made her own wealth, using a mix of charm and telepathy to climb the ladder of the business world

emma also exposed an affair her father was having and because of this he was…. impressed…. weird flex but ok — and asked her to be his heir but she basically told him to kick rocks bc she wanted nothing to do w him

this is when the hellfire club approached her to become a member

emma helped them work toward their goal of economical and political world domination

tho w the use of her telepathy she found out that their actual intention was to get rid of all mutants and she flipped her mf lid and worked w seb shaw (who was a fellow mutant) to take over the hellfire club and rename it the inner circle

after this the inner circle was basically mutant dominated and emma eventually started recruiting young mutants in the hopes of their abilities serving the inner circle. this team was called the hellions

i’m just gonna let y’all know there are few people in this world that emma would give her life for and her lil team of hellions is 1000000000% high up on that list. she LOVES instructing them

tho of course my girl gets paid dust and after this time travelling fuck, trevor fitzroy, basically throws emma into a coma and kills a majority of those on the hellions

emma’s mind was still active and her body was kept at the x-mansion after this

her lil school, the mass. academy was absorbed into xavier’s, and once emma was brought to consciousness she realized this was probably the right decision all along. she also broke down when she learned what had happened to her hellion bbs. i’m Emo

she started training a new team of mutant bbs called generation x and here they learned how to be the next generation of x-men basically

tho the mass. academy closed its doors after a sentinel attack that lost her some students, and had emma kill her own sister due to revenge adrienne frost was trying to get on her sister. this is also when emma learned of her secondary mutation which is her organic, unbreakable diamond form

emma joined the xmen. most resented her but emma found a friend in beast and had a big fat crush on scott summers.

at one point she was assassinated by a former pupil who shot her in her diamond form but in a weak spot. she pretty much shattered and it took a lot of work on beast’s part to put her back together, and she was brought back to life by jean.

later she and scott became the two co-headmasters of the school and began tutoring a group called the hellions squad once a rule was put in effect for xavier’s students to break into smaller teams. she continued to serve as an x-men during this time. not many of those on the team trusted her due to her villainous past however scott, logan, and beast trusted and believed in her and that’s all she cared about tbh

clint is just a regular dude that wants to help and do what he can to ( cliche as it is ) make the world a better place . he wants to leave each place a better place than he found it and is the most well intended dumbass you will ever meet . clint has like four functioning brain cells and spends a lot of his time with his dog lucky . 

won’t go into detail but clint’s father was not the best man . his drinking led to a lot of abuse and eventually the death of both himself and his wife leaving clint and his older brother orphans . jumping from foster home to foster home and then eventually having a run in with a circus clint learned how to shoot a bow and had a real talent for it . 

clint has little to no relationship with his older brother both of them having taken drastically different approaches to life . 

he lost most of his hearing in an accident and has adapted fine . a lot of the time he uses it as an excuse 2 not listen to tony complain about the coffee maker in the avengers tower ( love you tony )

clint met natasha romanoff while she was not yet with shield and despite that definitely not being something that should’ve worked nat quickly became his best friend and family . they raise a lot of hell together because what happens in budapest !

he and bobbi morse met fighting a bad guy and naturally decided to elope after kicking his ass you know the responsible hero thing to do ! despite this though clint loved her. alot and their marriage just fell apart at a point and that was not really the vibe he was going for .

so when natasha was an infant, the building in which she and her mother lived in was attacked and on fire. in an act of desperation, natasha’s mother gave her to a russian soldier named ivan. her mother didn’t make it out of the fire, leaving ivan to adopt and later raise nat. 

since ivan was still actively in service, he brought natasha down to department x (a covert soviet agency created to train and super soldiers in order to fight for the kgb). here, natasha was trained by the black widow ops program. 

here, natasha was trained in combat and espionage at the red room facility. while there, she was biologically and psychotechnologically enhanced. 

during her time at the red room, a number of things were done to natasha. training aside there were false memories implanted into her brain, ones that made her think all those years she was actually a ballerina who performed at the bolshoi theatre in moscow. 

in later years she meets clint barton and is recruited into SHIELD by him, becoming one of their top agents. 

i’m keeping all her mcu appearances (with the avengers) canon because trying to pick and choose from her choppy comic history is gonna take me all year lmao

 oliver has  spent  a  good  portion  of his life  trying  to  make-up for his mistakes,   which   includes trying to be the dad his kids deserve but truthfully he hasn’t fully rectified the damage he’s done.  as  a  justice  league  member,   he’s probably one of the most temperamental,  he   often is a  loudmouth and  isn’t afraid to defy his teammates but he  definitely  respects   most of his  teammates  and  has  even  formed  close  bonds  with some.  like most of his teammates, oliver has moved temporarily to gotham in order to figure out what has happened to the missing meta-humans. the justice league have set up a temporary base where they can have their meetings and collaborate on their findings. he’s living currently with the love of his life dinah lance in an apartment.

diana met steve when he quite frankly crash landed on themyscira, told the amazon’s about the war to end all wars and diana insisted that taking down what was so obviously ares was the duties of the amazons.  and that if they weren’t going to go, at the least, she had to, to defeat him once and for all. in doing that not only did she put an end to the threat that was ares but she lost someone near and dear to her, steve trevor

steve did mean a lot to her. he is ultimately the foundation of her belief system ??? he taught her SO MUCH in their time together and although it’s been ages since then, diana still holds it very close to her heart. needless to say, shit talk steve and she’ll break ur jaw

i’m also keeping it canon that diana stepped away from man’s world between 84 and BVS. she was so concrete in her belief that once ares was dead, that meant men could live among one another peacefully but then ww2 happened. the atomic bomb. the cold war. vietnam. it all kept happening and diana didn’t understand why. she didn’t understand why mankind couldn’t live in harmony. it hurt her to realize that ares wasn’t the sole influence of the hatred that brought on wars, but it was man itself.

soooo, she didn’t pop back up actively/consistently until bvs happened. diana’s reluctance to put more of her friends/colleagues on the front lines after having lost steve (twice lmao) to it is still very much alive and well to this day and it hurts my heart tbqh

diana became a founding member of the justice league, alongside batman and superman who she now considers her closest friends and allies.

as far as how i plan on playing diana, she’s a big ol’ softie. a badass with a great ass. bi icon. i also lowkey took the “A BABY!!!” thing from ww and RAN with it. diana loves babies, loves kids, loves grown ass adults and will mother any and everyone if they give her the chance. so if you’re in need of a mom, hit my line !!!!!!

diana has years and years of amazonian combat training beneath her belt as well as expert weaponry and divinity given her demi-goddess status

i’m also a lil extra and have done diana’s natal chart in the past and diana is a fucking aries THROUGH AND THROUGH. she shares a majority of the positive and negative traits of an aries, the most notable being that she’s OPTIMISTIC, energetic, courageous and incisive. however she also heavily portrays some of the negative qualities of an aries, for instance - she’s incredibly IMPULSIVE, confrontational and at times can be rather stubborn (not in an arrogant way, more so just set in her beliefs).

diana has a tendency to think with her heart before her head and though sometimes it can be a good thing, there are rare times where it’s the exact opposite. she’s aware of this quality and often beats herself up about it but there’s something inside of her that wills her toward what she thinks is right.

in one accident, she decided to use her powers to save her sister from a plane crash and that’s when everything started and her new identety appeared, she was called as supergirl and she is always just glad to be helping out people, that’s what she does enjoy to do.

just a small thing is that she works as journalist in her human apperance but when people need help, usually she turn into supergirl to always help out others.

honestly there is nothing much to say about her because i’m not placing her in a particular order but she’s mostly based for the show, however, i can always put some comic things there as well for connections!

mj was born to philip and madeline watson, she’s the youngest child, being 4 years younger than her siblings. at a young age her mom left her and her sister with their abusive father. 

for awhile mj got out of the abusive household and lived with her aunt anna, causing her to move to new york which is where she’d stay even today. after a few years her mother comes back and she rekindles her relationship with her. just happy to be away from her father. 

nothing exciting happens for awhile, she goes to high school, starts her career in acting by starring in school productions and so on and so forth. but her mother fell ill during this time and she instead took up after school jobs to help provide for the family.  

her mother dies in her senior year of high school and it leaves her devastated. she leaves home after this determined not to sacrifice her dreams like her sister and mother did. 

she meets peter after this and literally the first night they ever hang out they go after rhino together it was great. he introduces her to the gang shortly after this, becoming close to them very quickly! i like to ignore the whole rivalry thing and like to think they just got along as friends ty. 

after this mj has plenty of interactions with spider-man and she’s slowly beginning to piece it together as to who’s behind the mask (though she’d never tell him that). 

mj became very close with gwen stacy despite having feelings for peter, and viewed her as her sister. her closest friend. when she died, it changed mj forever. her friendship with peter grew closer and after gwens death mj became a lot more sensitive and serious to the world, the spark inside her not as bright as it used to be. 

that’s p much where i’m at w her cause the rest of her comic lore is when she’s a lot older! right now i have her living with her father again, as her aunt is too sick to care for her. 

it’s a lot on her and it’s an abusive household but mj tries her best to stay out as long as she can, or crash at someone else’s house. she’s currently in college for acting ! and also runs a fashion blog/instagram since fashion design has also been a dream of hers! 

she also runs a secret crime reporting blog that follows the trail of missing superhumans and it often gets her in more trouble than it should as she goes to places she shouldn’t. oops!

roy’s father was a forest ranger who died in a forest fire saving the life of a man called brave bow, leaving roy to be brought up by the navajo. brave bow took him in as his own, however after learning of a terminal illness, he requested that billionaire oliver queen ( green arrow ) should take roy in as he always looked up to him

in an archery competition, roy impressed oliver with his skills so he indeed did take him in

because roy idolized ollie and green arrow, he quickly adopted the speedy title ( because he can shoot arrows faster than ollie )

despite his appearance and demeanour, roy is actually a pretty smart cookie and great at engineering and manufactured green arrow's trick arrows and other weapons for the pair

he soon joined the teen titans, which consisted of other young sidekicks to the justice league

during his time with the teen titans, roy spiralled - especially after the group disbanded. he resorted to heavy partying and using drugs to stop himself from feeling the pain and anguish he felt from the stress and upset from losing that connection to his friends

it got so bad that when roy turned 16, ollie kicked him out once he found out roy had become addicted to heroin

during the breakup from both his team and guardian, roy formed a rock band ! great frog, where he played the drums but despite being booked and busy, he still never thought they were good enough for success... even though they kinda were but his depression just wouldn’t let him see that  ( obv this is all very important info that must be included )

as expected, the abandonment of his father figure made roy's depression even worse and it was during this time roy became close to the assassin, jade nguyen ( cheshire ), who he shared a deep connection with

he convinced himself they were in love and they have a child together, lian, who lives with her mother

with the help of fellow teen titan, lilith clay, and rehabilitation, roy has now recovered from his heroin addiction, but still in recovery from narcotics altogether ( no thanks to his baby mama for that )

he is now technically a titan again, working with them in a penthouse in gotham city that they’ve adapted for helping with the search of the missing super humans

stephanie brown was born to arthur and crystal brown. The former of which was better known as the cluemaster, one of gotham city’s third-rate villains, considering how many times he was caught. he’s basically like the riddler but instead of leaving riddles he leaves clues. but because of how often his schemes were thwarted by batman the man spent the majority of steph’s life in and out of prison.

steph, tired of her fathers games, tailored a costume all by herself and took up the mantle of spoiler because she was determined “spoil” her father’s plans once and for all. using his own tactics she left clues behind for batman and robin (tim drake at the time) on where to catch her dad. and because of her relationship to man and knowledge of how he thought they allowed her to work with them that one time. after which batman basically told her to stop and live a normal life. 

as you’ll come to learn, steph never listens to a thing bruce says and kept doing vigilante work as spoiler long after, despite the man’s wishes.

sometime down the line she became pregnant from an ex-boyfriend, had the baby, and gave her up for adoption. 

all this time and history having spent with both batman and robin she didn’t know their true identities until bruce sought her out to train her after tim was forced to quit his role as robin. 

she trained as the new robin with bruce and the birds of prey for a few months before bruce fired her for disobeying his orders and being too careless out in the field. because her reckless nature reminded him too much of jason todd and he didn’t want a repeat of the situation with the former robin. and as fate would have it he wasn’t wrong to be weary.

steph going out in the field alone to prove herself to bruce and subsequently ended up captured by black mask. she was tortured for information on batman’s identity and as a result “died”. 

it was revealed later that dr. leslie tompkins helped her fake her death and that steph spent the year everyone believed she had passed away with her in africa recovering and doing volunteer work under an alias.

after her return to gotham she eventually took up the mantle of batgirl under tutelage from barbara gordon herself for a while before the once again taking up the mantle of spoiler.
