[Spinoff] Transcendental Meditation – One of the modern meditation methods.
As a comparison and contrast to Vipassana meditation (Ref) as an alternative medicine, we would like to mention Transcendental Meditation of Hindu origin.
Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a form of silent mantra meditation technique derived from the Vedas, made known in the mid-1950s by Indian Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Maharishi summarised and presented the Vedic teachings in a form that was understandable to Westerners, using scientific language.
Advocates of the Transcendental Meditation movement (TM) claim that the technique promotes a state of relaxed awareness, stress relief, and access to higher states of consciousness, as well as physiological benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure.
Transcendental Meditation is said to foster a higher consciousness and improve one's luck (described as receiving nature's support). When done in groups, it is said to promote very powerful attunement, creating harmony and positive influences in the environment (making the world a better place).
The connection between mantra and meditation is considered a "scientific technique" and is called the "science of creative intelligence. It is said to develop latent abilities, drawing out vitality, intelligence, and fulfillment, and even "transcending" thought. Maharishi states that "transcendence" is the transcendence of the mind over thought, the turning of the mind inward, beyond thought, beyond the conscious mind, to experience pure consciousness which being absolute bliss consciousness, totally unchanging and eternal. The "ultimate goal" of transcendental meditation is "God-realisation," the realisation of the value of "God" within oneself, and the attainment of God-consciousness.
Building on the teachings of his master Brahmananda Saraswati (known honorifically as Guru Dev), the Maharishi taught thousands of people during a series of world tours from 1958 to 1965, expressing his teachings in spiritual and religious terms.
Many celebrities and celebrities such as the Beatles studied Transcendental Meditation during this period, and its influence on the subculture was significant. It is known to have had a major influence on musicians during the Flower Movement, and among hippies in the 1960s, 'meditation' and 'zen' were seen as techniques that could provide similar psychedelic experiences without the use of drugs.
They were loved by hippies as a method for 'mental expansion' and so-called 'opening the doors of perception', with Transcendental Meditation being described in the rock media as the most 'effective' and known amongst young rock lovers.
Beginning in 1965, the Transcendental Meditation technique has been incorporated into selected schools, universities, corporations, and prison programs in the US, Latin America, Europe, and India. The technique has still been included in a number of educational and social programs around the world.

The Divine Feminine and Masculine in the Vedic Tradition: The Importance of the Moon as a Time Keeper
The Vedic tradition recognizes the Moon as the divine feminine, essential for emotional connection and timekeeping. Its phases provide natural rhythm, and in astrology, it influences emotions and mental states. Book and appointment with me today!
In the Vedic tradition, the energy of the Moon is recognized as a representation of the divine feminine within us and in Nature. On the other hand, the Sun is regarded as a masculine expression that reflects the function of the Divine Masculine in Nature as well as in ourselves. This understanding of the duality of energy is nothing new, and several other spiritual traditions also acknowledge it.…

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆ASTROLOGY MASTERLIST⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
◦ I started properly getting into astrology in 2023, after superficialy dabbling in it since 2021. Iniitally, I looked into it to debunk it. However, through approaching it with a critical lens, I came to realise the truth and significance behind it. What previously closed my mind off to ever taking astrology seriously was the garbage pop culture astrology permeating the internet, and its modern day link to spirituality and understanding it solely as a psychological tool (more of this will be disucssed in the first post). ◦ As I've been learning, I wanted to create a place to consolidate my thoughts, hence me creating this blog. The information derives from an amalgam of different sources, and I will try to cite where necessary.possible. ◦ Below is a list of the content I plan on writing about as I continue to learn. The titles will be clickable links when they are done.

My thoughts on the astrology ascendant line determining if a someone is an extrovert or introvert
Tumblr media
There is a video on TikTok where she explains using the ascendant and descendant line. The same line in the center of a wheel chart that goes from west to east. If more planets are above that line a person is more extroverted. Whereas more planets under it indicates an introvert.
I think I recall krs mentioning something similar years ago but he uses a north Indian chart so his demonstration was a bit different. I can't exactly remember.
Why would she say this?
Well it's simple because the 10th, 11th and maybe even the 9th house are houses related to socializing, public life, how the public perceives you, your followers on social media, long distance traveling. Her explanation was different though.
I disagree with this methodology
For many reasons not every planets are sociable planets like saturn. For example a planet like Saturn doesn't do well with being sociable because it represents fears, boundaries and restrictions. Which means if Saturn is in the 11th house aspecting the 5th house. A person won't exactly be extroverted but more so introverted. Saturn would make a person not interested in having lots of friends, or partying much because Saturn in the 11th aspects the 5th of hobbies, having fun, self expressing yourself.
The 12th house represents solitude. Whereas the 8th house is secrets and shows what we have secretive relationships with. Now imagine a planet like the sun that shows how we express ourselves in one of those houses? Then in the 12th a person prefers being who they truly are when alone. Does that sound like an introvert or an extrovert? What if sun is in the 8th house that shows someone self expressing themselves in secretive ways. Meaning they would not be open revealing who they truly are unless a lot of privacy is involved.
Conjunctions. What if you have 4 planets like a sun, moon, Saturn, mercury conjunction in the 12th house or shoots any of those house above the ascendant line. Saturn would easily limit someone self expressing themselves through communication. Imagine ketu is added to the conjunction.
The planets in the above houses would still aspect the houses in the lower half. Meaning the planets in the 10th house are still sharing energy as if it's in the lower half houses. For example sun in the 10th would still operate similarly as if it was in the 4th house.
The lower half houses still have a lot to do with socializing like the 2nd 3rd and 5th house. Let's say someone has a Jupiter sun conjunction in the 3rd house then that person would love communicating on social media. Shoots they would be making TikToks too. 2nd house is speech introverts tend to be shy and quiet. What if mars is in the 2nd house. Now you have someone who is arguementative and likely to be loud with his or her speech. You can even test this on yourself whenever mars transits your 2nd house.
Overall to determine who's extroverted or introverted depends on placements in the chart especially the sun's placement because the sun has a lot to do with revealing who we truly are.

shatabhishas and their facial features: 👀
shatabhisha, the 24th nakshatra, is represented by an empty circle and governed by the deity varuna
sidereal degrees: 6°40’ - 20°0’ aquarius
tropical degrees: 0°31’ - 13°51’ pisces
yesterday, i made a tweet about how shatabhishas probably have rounder features due to the circular symbolism of the nakshatra — after doing more digging, i found a lot of great celebrity examples !!
out of anything, i think the eyes are the most prominent on shatabhisha placements. notice in the photos below how they have those striking, round eyes !!
niecy nash - sba. sun and venus
christina applegate - sba. moon and mars
erykah badu - sba. sun
sarah michelle geller - sba. moon
rihanna - sba. sun
karin dor - sba. sun and venus
daniel kaluuya - sba. sun
dakota fanning - sba. sun, saturn, and venus
audrey hepburn - sba. moon
Tumblr media
@jad3w3av3r also mentioned how they have a very specific lip shape, which is very evident in the examples i provided — here’s the link to their tweet
Tumblr media
are you a shatabhisha with similar facial features ? let me know in the replies :)
book a reading !!

With the new Avatar series having been out a few months now, here's another mythology and language lesson people overlook and it's...tiring.
Tumblr media
The word and concept of Avatar is South Asian. I can't Hinglish it, but it's close to pronounced like: Uhv-thaar. you can just google it, but it's the idea and ability of gods or powerful beings to incarnate in new time/new forms/bodies, sometimes both mortal and divine.
It happens a lot in the Vedic epics.
Avatar: The Last Airbender? Concept, reincarnation, South Asian as fuck.
South Asia (as does other areas of the world/cultures) has a take on the x number of elements as well. Usually it's: wind, fire, earth, water, and sound/voice/space or spirit - aether - w.e. you wanna call it. Spirit bending the idea of the spirit world. Obviously this set is not a direct 1:1.
A:TLA draws a closer to parallel in ways to Chinese takes on the elements.
Obviously James Cameron's avatar takes this concept to a sci fi degree, essentially bringing your mind/consciousness into a new/different (Alien) body.
We also get into the world tree mythos/axis mundi parts of his story too, but that's beside the point and not unique to any one culture - that's anything out of proto Indo-European up. Obviously within in the pantheon of sff literature and other media the idea of reincarnation and cyclic nature of time - birth across time isn't new or rare.
The idea of a Wheel of Time, in fact, comes quite from: Kalachakra - translation = "Wheel of Time." This is an Indian belief that later spread through/over distance as well as religion, popping up in Buddhism and finding prominence most notably in Tibet still to this day.
The belief also ties back into the idea of conventional reality - time being an aspect of the larger world-universe- the smaller aspects of which are comprised of, once again: earth, wind, water, fire, space - sound familiar to something rom fantasy?
Probably. If not, read more. Or...more carefully.

Hi hi!!:)I have a question
Do you think sidereal astrology is more accurate than tropical? I recently learned about sidereal :o
lol i'll be honest i've been DYING for someone to ask me about sidereal.
what i do is all tropical. the scientist in me WANTS sidereal to be more accurate. i don't even mean vedic astrology which is usually what people mean when they say sidereal astrology, but true 100% sidereal with ophiuchus and even other signs thrown in there, and a heliocentric system to boot. and while you CAN do astrology all of these ways.... my lived experience tells me it's just not as good as modern tropical astrology. i don't know why, and that gets under my skin, but it's like quantum mechanics - a model no one really understands fully, that probably (almost certainly) isn't really quite right, but it works better than anything we have so we keep doing it for now. (invoking quantum physics in astrological or other "woowoo" discussions is a pet peeve of mine but if i do it then it's okay, lol)
one thing i have heard, that i would like to have more time to test out for myself personally, or for someone to do a good study on that i could later read about, is that vedic astrology (not necessarily all sidereal systems) is better for making predictions, and tropical western astrology is better for knowing the self. it's an interesting hypothesis but i'm not in deep enough with vedic to have a serious opinion there.
actually i've always struggled to get into vedic because i can't let go of my outer planets. some find it blasphemous but if it isn't clear to yall already my whole approach is a patchwork quilt of what works and what doesn't. outer planets just work for me. ophiuchus just doesn't. placidus houses just work for me. as much as i want whole signs or equal houses to be better, they just aren't. exaltations and detriments are old school but they Make Sense to me (in a slightly modified form.) we should pay more attention to ceres and less to chiron. etc etc.
so anyway to answer your question no i don't but i kinda wish it was.
thanks for the great ask!~

Ancient Astrology: Unleashing the Power and Relevance in the Modern World
Tumblr media
Ancient astrology refers to the practice of studying celestial bodies and their movements to gain insight into human affairs and the natural world. It has its roots in various civilizations dating back thousands of years, including ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and India. In ancient times, people observed the positions and movements of the sun, moon, planets, and stars, believing that they held significant influence over human lives and events. Astrologers developed intricate systems to interpret these celestial patterns and make predictions about various aspects of life, such as personal characteristics, relationships, health, and even political and societal events.

Venus + Mars: Underneath It All
Traditionally mars (in vedic astrology) was not at all associated with lovers, dating, or anything romantic. In fact, mars was notoriously shifty in relationships that that's what mars indicated. Us fighting in relationships.
Only recently have vedic astrologers accepted mars influencing our sexual relationships but only in modern hellenistic is mars considered som indication of what any person attracted to men, find attractive in men.
Now with Venus; it was always seen as the "wife" in men's charts. In modern times for any person attracted to women, that's what most modern astrologers look to venus for. Our "type" in women.
Venus was also seen as the "marriage" planet for everyone (men and women) to some extent (tho men mostly because women had jupiter) even so...even with being assigned this; Venus was still seen as unsatisfactory in relationships.
The thing is that Venus represented the things we desired in the material world but our endless hunger for those things too.
To add salt to any hopless romantc's heart; any planets in 7th house except the planet of lessons; saturn, Was considered undesirable.
So tragic; did we ever have good indication of love?

I've been reading a little about vedic astrology (that uses the sidereal system) in the past years, and initially, yeah, it's kind of disorienting when signs are really different (I'm a pisces sun in sidereal too lol) but honestly the answer it's in the nakshatras, their myths, the padas and nakshatra ruler. That's the key to understand the difference and I can observe many similarities between my T and S chart when they are added into equation. I still prefer traditional/hellenistic astro bc I'm more familiar with it and I consider it more clear and straightforward, since vedic has a heavy religious and spiritual bend and talks a lot about karma and past lives, and I also disagree in the sign = house method that is used in vedic too. But anyway, It's still very interesting to learn and I feel like at the end, both methods, vedic and hellenistic, will lead to the same delineations/predictions if the person has good grasp on them.
I see, but I think we're always making the mistake of making vedic astrology sound like it's one cohesive thing.
Vedic is not one thing and also not necessarily sidereal. Vedic astrology is hugely vast, let's remind that astrology is a huge thing in India and there's even a lot more diversity than the branches of "western" astrology. There's an epistemological difference in the kinds of astrology that use the sidereal zodiac and the ones that use the tropical zodiac, and that diversion is also found within the many vedic traditions. If you use one, you're taking into account the significance and importance of the constellations, whilst using the other you're caring about the symbolism inherent in the times of year and areas of the sky in relation to our observation.* The most popular vedic traditions we see today use the sidereal zodiac, and I don't intend to explain why, firstly because I don't believe history has a cohesive and linear narrative with a logic of cause and effect, especially in cases like the history of a form of knowledge, and second, because I don't know much about vedic traditions or Indian culture. However, I can't help but wonder if it's just a coincidence that the sidereal zodiac has become popular in India after western intrusion and then english colonization, and that the western scientific community has always tried to use the precession of the equinoxes as an argument to invalidate astrology. Still, even if that has nothing to do how things went, in anyway I think it's important to wonder about the effects of colonization in vedic astrology, and today as the sidereal zodiac gets even more popular, I see as a common thing people refering to it as the "better" and more accurate model because, in the western, modern and cartesian mind, it is more rational, even more "scientific" (as if that can be said about astrology). But the difference in these methods isn't about different religious philosophies.
I also feel like the nakshatras and their deities are the best part about vedic astrology. Not really the rulers, because I think they're assigned to each nakshatra in a weird way for me.
*For those who don't know about the precession of the equinoxes: when we say the Sun is in Aries, in our kind of astrology, that doesn't mean that the Sun is aligned with the constellation of Aries, because we're actually refering to the Sun starting to make a shift and changing the duration of the days and nights, which happens in the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere as the days getting longer (and in the autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere as the days getting shorter). The precession means that now the spring in the northern hemisphere starts when the Sun is aligned with constellation of Pisces, instead of Aries. That's why we're in the so-called "age of pisces", going intto the "age of aquarius". When we use the sidereal zodiac we're seeing mostly the constellations sort of aligned with the planets and placements, even though each constellation is very different in size and sometimes things get confusing.

Me quickly debunking the Traditional astrology belief of the 4th house representing the father
This is a short post because I can't even believe claims like this even exist. Vedic Astrology an astrology system that existed before any sort of Greek astrology doesn't even make these claims.
The 4th house is originally ruled by the moon/cancer sign. This is a feminine type of planet so how can it indicate something that's masculine/male energy. 4th house is the mother no other way to put it.
10th house is the father ruled by Capricorn/Saturn what's so feminine about Capricorn and Saturn?
Anyways I know the 4th house to represent the mother because I tested the 4th house transits and saw how it affects the mother. How it affects the relationship between me and my mother.
You know what imma update this because in a different app someone tried refuting what I'm saying. Check out someone's chart that has moon in the 10th house like lebron james. I can't remember if it's in his sidereal or tropical but the moon is in his 10th house. Why did his mother took on the role of his father? 😱😱😱
Use someone with sun in the 4th house right. Sun represents the father right? I hope it does in traditional astrology. Then why do people that have sun in the 4th house grow up with single mothers, where their mothers takes on the role of the father?
