sorry but snow is such a well written iconic villain and donald sutherland performs him so fucking good it's almost hilarious how i start practically foaming at the mouth every time the man opens his mouth to say something deplorable in those movies, like he's so utterly and despicably wrong about almost every crucial thing from katniss and peeta's relationship to human nature as a whole and yet the second he starts talking about how hope is the only thing stronger than fear and how you have to allow a little hope but control it so its spark doesn't grow into revolution and how it's the things we love the most that destroy us you bet your ass i am on the floor screaming crying throwing up because that is my psychotic mustache-twirling villain RIGHT THERE

I think we haven’t mined Harrow’s tendency to leave multiple long overly detailed notes for romance potential. Like I’m imagining Gideon waking up to a note on her face and 3 more on the bedside table and it’s like-

Note 1: I have gone out to pick up some things, I am expecting to be back by 10:30. If I am not back by 11:00, assume some unforeseen complication. If I am not back by 12:00, you may assume I have been kidnapped and react accordingly.

Note 2: If you were planning on making food for yourself, don’t. I will be bringing you a smoothie and a breakfast sandwich from the cafe down the street. And before you start fretting over me, yes I am getting food for myself as well.

Note 3: Please try to be finished with your workout before I get back, or wait until after I return. I know your muscles wait for no man or some-such nonsense but I’d like to eat breakfast together.

I miss...giorno giovanna.

im thinking a lot about his complex role as a healer. his stand isn't meant to heal, he essentially brute forces it, which fits for the kind of person he is vs Josuke. furthermore, giorno is very self sacrificing in a very literal sense. he loses multiple body parts over the course of part 5 and just has to remake them. there's a ship of Theseus paradox here though I dont think THAT much of him was remade.

after the white album fight, mista tells him that their victory will be all of them surviving together as giorno once again tries to sacrifice himself. he takes this to heart, but soon afterwards its proven that this cannot always happen. His healing isn't enough. he can only give Bruno a little more time. and his reaction when bruno tells him this says everything.

Keeping everyone alive is his role, and he spends the early days of the part being given shit for being a newcomer, so having a solidified sense of usefulness only to have it swiped away so quickly when his stand cannot save his comrades is rough.

golden experience requiem is interesting in this context because its main purpose is protecting him from any and all harm. giorno has again, spent the entire part going through jojo typical levels of body horror, gore, etc, with the added benefit that he can remake limbs and chunks of flesh so they can do a lot worse to the part 5 cast and have them live. so in one sense, GER is a reward of sorts. he endured all that and his reward is never getting hurt again.

But at the same time, it's cruel irony that even with one of the most powerful stands in the world, its capabilities are on protecting him and no other. im sure that his enhanced capabilities make it easier of course, but the idea that he could still be too late will forever remain. whug.

#he was my icon for a hot minute in the past I remember #sorry I suddenly got hit with a rapid wave of remembering a past hyper fixation. giorno my beloved idc that people say hes boring think #about his actions and his powers please please please. and hes only my second favorite jojo lol #I also think an interesting aspect of him is how he DIDNT ever show a desire to be the boss in any way. he said 'gangstar' which is. vague #and just seems to be in the vein of 'responsible gangster helping their neighborhood' like his childhood hero but at every turn the #assumption is bruno being the leader and every time the idea of bruno leaving comes up giorno is greatly distressed. he actively plays #support hes the one lifting bruno up being THE main guy is not necessarily his desire but he has to be. it's his birthright. it was always #going to happen this way #jojo's bizarre adventure #giorno giovanna #jjba #vento aureo

Genuinely my best strategy (and therefore my advice to you all) whenever someone leaves a rude comment about my pet care, is to completely ignore the tone and respond as kindly and curiously as possible. Someone says my enclosure looks bad? I’ll say something like “I appreciate your concern- Do you have any specific recommendations for how to improve it? I’m always looking for new suggestions to research for how to better provide for my animals. Thank you :)” If it’s an enclosure I already have improvements planned for, I’ll briefly outline my goals for it.

If they provide me with genuine recommendations, I will seriously consider the advice given and respond back thanking them, and then give my feedback on their advice (sometimes it IS a good idea in which case I acknowledge that, sometimes it’s something based in misinfo which i correct with evidence, etc). Sometimes, they don’t respond at all or say something extremely vague that isn’t actionable.

I firmly believe that care advice should always be given as kindly as possible. And you should never simply say something is bad without explaining WHY and what to do instead. However, not everyone is going to do that. And some people only care about being hurtful and have no intention to actually help in any way.

But I feel better knowing that even if they don’t actually want to give constructive criticism, I made myself open to feedback. And it honestly really catches them off guard sometimes to respond with curiosity (why do you think my cage is bad? what can i do?) instead of defensiveness. Sometimes I’m able to have a productive and respectful conversation. Sometimes they’re just a troll or they don’t respond. Either way, this is my favorite strategy for handling this type of rudely worded but vague criticism.

#not vaguing anything that happened here recently #i mostly encounter this on instagram actually lol #but since employing this strategy it bothers me 10000% less when people leave comments in that vein
