"The Last Hurrah" - a Wake for the Tswuun-Tswuun Rotunda held Sunday, April 25th, 2004

Objects that spent time in the lobby of the Velaslavasay Panorama are photographed in the garden.

Drawing on the illustrious history of the great panorama paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries, The Velaslavasay Panorama is an exhibition hall, theatre and garden dedicated to the production and presentation of unusual visual experiences, including those of the 360-degree variety and linear moving panoramas.

The Velaslavasay Panorama's digital collection at California Revealed consists of images from the 2000s. The collection includes brochures, texts, ephemera, and photographs related to the museum’s establishment in the early 2000s.

An amazing miniature version of Los Angeles’ La Grande Station created for the Velaslavasay Panorama’s “Shengjing Panorama Limited Express” exhibit (opening the weekend of June 8). Torn down in 1946, the La Grande Station opened in 1893 as the main depot for the Santa Fe railroad.

Kosmos: Russian space flights of the imagination from Museum of Jurassic Technology on Vimeo.

On January 23rd, 2015, Dr. Olesya Turkina presented a lecture at the Velaslavasay Panorama entitled 'Kosmos: Russian space flights of the imagination from Tsiolkovsky to Klushantsev'.

Dr. Turkina is a curator and writer -- most recently of the book Soviet Space Dogs. She is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Contemporary Art at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and a member of the Russian Space Federation. An esteemed collaborator of The Museum of Jurassic Technology for nearly two decades, Dr. Turkina played an essential role, both in front of and behind the camera, in the making of the Museum's Chain of Flowers film series shown in The Museum's Borzoi Kabinet theater.

Hammer Museum is screening the film Dark Money with a Q&A with director Kimberly Reed and political director for Crooked Media Shaniqua McClendon to follow. (free)

The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is hosting Vote For Your Lives Rally, an event in collaboration with For Freedoms, Summit, and March For Our Lives, to share ideas and inspire voter turnout leading up to the midterm elections. The event includes an electronic bus by Jenny Holzer & March For Our Lives and features Aja Monet, Alex Ebert, Beau Sia, Jammal Lemy, Kristina Wong, Madame Gandhi, Muna Malik, and Philip Agnew, and others.

Swing Left is hosting a free (RSVP for a ticket) night of music, comedy and activism at the Palace Theater to promote The Last Weekend, an effort to get people out to vote. Featured performers include The Bird and The Bee with Dave Grohl, Moby, Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The Velaslavasay Panorama will be opening its doors as part of 24th Street Theatre's free annual Día de los Muertos Festival and will host performances and art demonstrations and more for the event

It's the last of the performance nights celebrating the Triforium. Performers tonight include Thao Nguyen (of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down), Taiko Projects, world champion whistler Molly Lewis, Restless Nites DJs, and "onsite scent activations" by the Institute for Art and Olfaction

Cloud Nothings are playing at the Teragram Ballroom with Shells and Divinity Band opening

Grand Ave Arts All Access is a free day of arts and programs including a scavenger hunt at The Broad, free tours of the Central Library and the theaters at The Music Center, musical performances by the Colburn School and the LA Chamber Orchestra, free all day admission at MOCA and more.
