[Devil's Palace, Church]
One day in December, just before the end of the year…
All the butlers and I went to an old church near the mansion.
We were holding a mourning ceremony for the butlers who had passed away in the past.
Clonk… clonk… *bells ringing*
Berrien: "Well… this is the end of this year's ceremony.
Thank you, my lord, for praying with us. Every year, we perform this ritual to pray for the fallen devil butlers...
Fortunately, in the past two years since the lord's arrival… We have been able to celebrate this month of the ceremony without any new casualties.
This is all thanks to you, my lord. I would like to thank you again on behalf of all the other butlers."
> "It was all thanks to everyone's hard work"
Berrien: "Fufu… Thank you very much.
It is true that since the lord came to the mansion, I think that the bond between all the butlers has strengthened.
This is all… also thanks to you, my lord."
> "I'm glad I could be of help"
Berrien: "The lord has been a great help ♪
This year, too, with urgent requests and dangerous expeditions... There have been many occasions where you've joined us…
We hope that at least during the New Year's holidays, you will be able to rest and relax at the mansion."
> "I hope so"
However, the butlers' wishes were not granted... on the day after the ceremony, a new request came in from the Grovaner family.
[Devil's Palace, Dining Room]
Hanamaru: "Good grief. As usual, the nobles are such oppressors."
Ammon: "Just the other day they made us go to Velis, joining in a circus. As soon as the Christmas vacation is over, they are asking us to do another job already."
Miyaji: "Well, it's not just this year… it's always busy this time of year."
Yuhan: "So, what is the nature of this request?"
Berrien: "Yes. According to the contents of the letter we just received... It seems that the request this time is... 'to escort Lady Elvira'."
Muu: "Lady Elvira?
Isn't she… the witch who lives in the northern land?"
> "I think I've met her a few times"
Lucas: "Indeed. Seems like Lady Elvira herself is coming to the central land.
Apparently… she is going to participate in the '22 Years Festival' in the city of Maginaria."
Muu: "Twenty-two year festival...? What is that?"
Fennesz: "It's a fortune-telling festival held every 22 years.
The city of Maginaria has been known for its fortune-telling since a long time ago...
The number 22 is based on the number of cards used in tarot readings. Every 22 years, the power… of fortune-telling seems to increase."
Hanamaru: "Oh~ I see.
As expected of Fennesz, the living dictionary of the Devil's Palace."
Fennesz: "Ahaha...
Well, I've never been to Maginaria myself, though."
Nac: "Lady Elvira has been invited to be the main guest of the occasion. She herself is a famous fortune teller.
In a sense, she is the 'main event' of the festival."
Lato: "By the way… If I recall, she did fortune-telling when we met her before at the northern border."
Berrien: "Yes… she did."
At that time, she told us that 'many people would die'...
After that, the fortune-telling came true... Neither I nor the butlers dared to mention it ever again.
Boschi: "So, during that festival… we should just escort Elvira and that's all, right?
I understand that she is an important guest from the northern land and needs an escort, but... does that job have to be us?"
Haures: ".......Don't say that.
The fact that they're asking us to do just that, shows how much they trust us."
Berrien: "Exactly.
We devil butlers also have a close relationship with the witch tribe… If they need escorts, we should cooperate with them as much as possible.
However… For this request, we only need a few guards…
The lord and a few butlers will escort her... Is that good as a response?"
Miyaji: "Only a few butlers, huh..."
Lamli: "Yes, yes! I want to go with the lord!
I don't want to be away from my lord during the New Year's holidays…!"
Nac: "Lamli.
If you put it that way, then so do I. Of course, I would like to accompany my lord as well."
Flure: "I-in that case, me too…"
Teddy: "I want to serve at my lord's side, too!"
The butlers raised their hands one after another…
In the end, all of them wished to be assigned to guard duty.
Berrien: "Well, well... This is a problem, isn't it?
I can't believe that everyone wants to participate in a mission that should only require a few people…"
Lucas: "We could always draw lots to determine the members, but… since it's New Year's Eve soon... I think all the butlers should accompany the lord on this request ♪"
Muu: "What! Is that okay?"
Lucas: "Yup. I'm sure the Grovaner family is weak to sudden requests like this...
Well, leave it to me. I'll talk them into it ♪"
Teddy: "Hooray! Thank you, Mr. Lucas!"
Lucas: "How about you my lord... Would you like it like that?"
> "I would be happier that way too"
Lucas: "Fufu… if you say so, as a negotiator, I can't wait to put my skills to good use."
Berrien: "So, we are accepting this request.
As of the 30th of this month, we shall be leaving for Maginaria, the city of fortune-telling."
note: I didn't add that notice, it was in-game so I just put it there.
In the thrilling conclusion to the Fourth Annual Cauldron Lake Ice Hockey Tournament, (sponsored by Coffee World and the Bright Falls Council for Outdoor Recreation), the Oh Deer Diner Deer, led by team captain Rose "the Brute" Marigold, face the reigning champions, the Kalevala Knights, led by team captain Ilmo "the Grinder" Koskela. Which team will rise to the occasion and which will sink beneath the black water of Cauldron Lake?
Read it on ao3
“Alright team!” Ilmo shouted over the rumble of idle chatter.
All of the heads turned to him as he stood in the doorway of the heating tent. His stance commanded attention; legs spread to keep his balance on the skates on his feet and his arm out to the side, holding an old hockey stick that looked like it had seen better days. He had a look of steely confidence that seemed at home on his features.
“Last game of the night, last game of the tournament,” he started, walking into the tent to conserve heat. “It's us versus the Oh Deer Diner Deer once again.”
A quiet murmur filled the tent as the team made their comments about their rivals. Ilmo put a hand up, silencing them effectively.
“You may have heard that Bright Falls has a goalie that has been dominating this year. The rumors are true, the new Sheriff, Tim Breaker, is helping out the Deer this year. And yes, he played semi-professional hockey. But, he’s got nothing on Jaakko.”
A few cheers sounded and Jaakko was shoved from side to side in his goalie gear. A small smile appeared on his face as he pushed his teammates back playfully.
“Okay starting line up time:” Ilmo announced, and all the heads popped up. “Jones, ya ready?”
A middle-aged man with grizzled features nodded sharply.
“Good, ‘cause you’re going!” Ilmo shouted, and the team gave a grunt. “Charlie, ya ready?”
Among the older denizens of Watery, a teenaged boy popped his head up. The black and yellow hockey gear he sported seemed to almost drowned him. Nonetheless he raised a fist, “Down with the Deer!”
The team cheered in agreement.
“Good, ‘cause you’re going!” Ilmo repeated. “WIlliams, ya ready?”
Another player grunted, leading the team in cheers.
“Good, ‘cause you’re going!” he said, before locking eyes with his brother. The two of them stared each other down with fire in their eyes before Ilmo spoke up. “Jaakko, ya ready?”
“You know it, brother,” he replied, “Let’s kick some Bright Falls ass, boys.”
Ilmo belted out one last “Good, ‘cause you’re going!” and the tent erupted into shouts as the team stood up and donned the rest of their gear.
Meeting in the middle of the tent, over the propane heater, all of the team members put their hands in a circle.
“Knights on three,” Ilmo instructed, “Yksi, kaksi, kolme:”
The team shouted, “Knights!” in unison before filing out of the tent.
Ilmo made his way to the back of the tent to his brother, who was buckling his mask to his helmet. Jaakko smiled at his brother and grabbed the back of his head and brought their helmets together with an audible clash.
“Go get ‘em, veli.” Jaakko encouraged, making Ilmo smile widely.
The brothers tottered on their skates out of the heated tent and onto the ice of Cauldron Lake. A good-sized rink had been cleared of snow and benches had been hauled out for spectators to watch. Under a tent on the opposite side of the rink, a table with chairs behind and on either side served as the penalty boxes and score-keeper’s table. Behind the table, in a heavy fur lined coat was Ahti, nursing a coffee and leaning against a shovel. Next to him was Rose Marigold, teetering back and forth on her skates. Her team was warming up on the ice as the Knights joined on the opposite side.
Jaakko broke from Ilmo and joined the rest of the team and the captain skated over to the tent. He came to an abrupt stop in front of Rose, sending a flurry of snow at her calves. She just rolled her eyes.
Ahti just chuckled and shook his head. “Pluck your chickens elsewhere, lapset. Wouldn’t want a repeat of last year, ei?”
Last year’s tournament flashed vividly in Ilmo’s mind. His back still hurt from where Rose had body checked him hard enough to send him into the snowbank. But getting her back with a slapshot between her skates had been payback enough. However, the two didn’t speak for a month afterwards.
“The Deer are committed to sportsmanlike conduct this year, Ahti. No trouble from us.” Rose boasted, leaning against her hockey stick.
Ilmo rolled his eyes. “Knights are known for their chivalry, you know.”
Rose scowled. “Oh shove your chivalry up your ass, Koskela,” she mocked.
Ahti laughed heartily, throwing his head back. “Ah, ten for the attempt.”
The two players shoved off of the ice towards their respective teams. It was sure to be a close game.
kind of a self indulgent post bc i was struggling w art block so i went thru the depths of pinterest and found a pose like this :D and i decided to draw aira bc...i've never drawn him before HELP
- What I want? Eira had to think about it, it wasn't clear in her mind either. I don't know exactly what I want, she said after a while. It's more what I don't want. I don't want my life being solely about cleaning and feeding babies. Don't you ever feel that Noor?
- Haha, I feel like that most of the time, Noor admitted, Like, last night I was so frustrated, when little Phaidros was waking up the whole family with his crying. And not just once, but five times! I swear to you, I'm starting to think that he is doing it on purpose! None of my other kids were like that...
- Holy Astanna, what a nightmare! Eira said.
- I know! My life is a continuous nightmare, because this happens every night! I feel like a sleepwalker. Maybe that's why I don't reflect much on how to fulfill my dreams. I'm just to tired! Haha!
- I don't understand how you can just laugh about it sister. I would go crazy, but nothing seems to break you. You are so strong, I really admire that about you.
- Eira, I don't have a choice, do I? This is my life. I accept it. I'm just trying to do my best, and keep in mind that one day, they will grow up. All of them. Well except my husband. I don't have much hope for him, to be honest.
The sisters laughed and comforted each other, but soon it was time to continue with their daily routines. Nothing had changed, but the work didn't seem quite so overwhelming now.
When she came home Eira felt a bit lighter and energized.
- Did auntie Mezamura give you some dinner, Khará mou?
- Sicken!
- What? You were sick? Did you throw up?! Eira was worried.
- Not thlowap! Sicken! Khará was annoyed. I eat sicken. Sicken wit beans.
- Oh chicken! Eira laughed, Now let me put your sister to rest, and then we'll have some time together, just you and I. Do you want to have some chamomile tea and talk?
- Yess! Momomilli tea! And honey! Lotto lotto honey!
- Now let me tell you about the fox and the grapes...
- I love this stoly! Fox is vely hungly!
- That's right, the fox was very hungry. Maybe you would like to tell mama what happened?
- Yess! Foxie had no sicken fol many days. He was veeeely hungly!
- Oh that poor foxie. Eira enjoyed the dramatized narrative very much. So what did he do? You are such a good storyteller Khará! Soon you can tell stories to your little sister as well.
- Bah! Bansabila is musch too little. She is just a babie! Now listen mama! Foxie JUMP sooo high to eat the glapes!
That evening Eira found time to take a little nap. Or rather, she decided to not do all the housework she had to planned to do, and had a rest instead.
- I have to take more care of myself, she said to herself. If I get exhausted everything gets worse. Someone else can clean that bath tub. Now I will just rest, and don't put more pressure on myself.
And as it turned out - someone else did clean that bathtub. When Eira woke up, there was a wonderful moonlight, Mezamura and Teteriu was working with those papyrus scripts, Khará and Bansabira were sleeping, and Eira took her clay colors outside and started painting.
- Oh yes, I have to live for these moments. Cherish them and find room for them. And don't worry about everything. I will talk with my sister how we can help each other with the children. Everything will be okay.
It was a small, but very tangible moment of satisfaction, and yes, even happiness.
Ayla was shocked after she watched the video. She wanted to watch the video again with sound so she could hear what they were talking about but she dropped the phone and broke the screen.
Ayla:"Why do you have this video on your phone Resul? Or did Akif kill you because of this?"
She said that she needs to fix the phone immediately so she went to a repair shop and asked the guy to fix the phone and to make sure nothing is deleted. When Berk got back later, he didn't find the phone so he asked his mom if she took his dad's phone and she said yes she did but the screen broke so she's going to repair it and return it to him. She asked Berk if he looked through any of the videos and pictures that were on the phone and he said he didn’t. Berk was annoyed that she went into his room and touched his stuff. Here it's clear that he was still mad at her for what she did to Aybike and her family but I want to know how and when did he go back home. They gave us zero explanation concerning this 🙃
The next day, Ayla met with a guy named Mehmet. Apparently, this guy worked with Resul when he established a partnership with Akif's company. She asked him if any accidents (someone falling and dying or breaking something) occurred in one of Akif's construction sites during that period. He said that if something like that happened during the period he worked with Resul he would've definitely known about it but he's going to reach out to a friend of his who worked with Akif and he will ask him about that. The next day, he called Ayla and told her that an accident happened in one of Akif's construction sites but it wasn't during his partnership with Resul. He told her that someone died and Akif gave his children a scholarship. Ayla was surprised to hear that and asked him about the name of the person who died and he told her it was “Veli Eren”. Since his last name was “Eren”, Ayla thought he was related to Aybike somehow so she looked him up on the school's intranet (I think) and Asiye and Omer came up in the results. Ayla said that she needed to look further into this to verify her suspicion.
In the last episode, Gunul gave the keys of the restaurant to Sengul and she told her that she already paid the rent for the next 3 months. The Erens thought about changing the decor of the restaurant and decided to convert it into a coffee shop where students can come and study.
At school, Oglucan told Aybike that they need to go to the restaurant bc Sengul needs their help. Berk said that he will drop them off then go home to bring some stuff he thinks they need at the restaurant. Aybike wanted to know so bad what he was going to bring but he told her it was a surprise. I love that cute moment in the end where Berk carries Aybike's bag 🥰
When Berk came to the restaurant, Sengul said:"Welcome, Berk" and I honestly couldn't believe that she called him by his name. Oglucan almost called him "brother-in-law" at first 😂 Berk showed them the posters and the dart board he brought with im and Sengul was like:"Good job that's a good idea",
Oglucan:"It's really a good idea, son-in-law"
then Sengul glared at him.
Aybike said that she also has a surprise for them but she needs someone's help and Berk said that he can help her.
Then both left and Sengul told Oglucan:"what if his crazy mom starts messing with us again?" So like I said, I think Sengul is just scared of what Ayla would do and she doesn't hate Berk anymore.
Aybike:"What do you think? Do you like it? give me your opinion"
Berk:"It's pretty but they probably threw it out because the legs are broken"
Aybike:"Yes the legs are broken and it's torn here and there but it would look okay if we cover it with a blanket "
Berk:"I also think that would solve the problem"
Aybike:"Okay then come on"
Berk:"What do you mean "come on""
Aybike:"We're going to carry it"
Berk:"oh so that's why we came here?"
Aybike:"Yes, what else were we going to do?"
Berk:"I don't know, when you showed me the couch, I thought we were going to go buy something similar"
Aybike:"Of course that would've been better but unfortunately, we don't have that kind of budget"
Berk:"Okay then, you stay here and I will carry it on my back, you don't have the strength to carry it anyway"
Aybike:"What? I am sorry? I don't have the strength to carry it? Does this have anything to do with my gender?"
Berk:"No, my Aybike, what does this have to do with gender"
Aybike:"Come on, look how I am going to carry it now"
Berk:"come on, let' see"
Aybike:"It's not heavy"
Berk:"It's heavy my love, you're the strong one. Okay then I will come back and get the other couch and then the set would be complete"
Btw the couch is really heavy, Doruk later said that so I guess Berk is not the only one lifting weights in his spare time 😂
Then they started carrying the couch and Berk said: “let me know if a car comes so it doesn’t hit me” idk why this line was so funny 😂 I wonder if this was in the script or if it's Recep improvising.
When they reached the restaurant, Doruk saw them and came to help them. He told Aybike to let go of the couch bc he was going to carry it with Berk instead but Berk told him not say that bc it would end badly 😂 Then Berk said “all of us are going to carry the couch together”. He didn’t want to upset her 🥺
In the evening when Berk got home, Ayla was waiting for him. She told him that she realized that she went too far and she wants to apologize to Sengul. Berk of course did not believe her and asked her if this was another one of her tricks. She told him that he can come with her and they will talk to Sengul face to face.
Berk:"Did something fall on this woman's head or what? What happened to her"
I love that he was looking at the ceiling to check whether something really fell on her head 😂
Berk sent a text to Aybike telling her that his mom is coming to apologize to her parents. When they got to the Eren's house, Berk warned Ayla one last time that if she was trying to trick him, he wouldn't breathe the same air as her.
She told him not to worry and to knock on the door. Aybike opened the door.
Aybike:"Hello my dear Berk"
Berk:"Hello my dear Aybike"
Ayla:"My dear Aybike, good evening sweetheart, your parents are at home, right?"
Aybike:"Yes, they are"
Ayla:"I came to apologize to all of you"
Aybike looked at Berk as if she was asking him it that was true and Berk made a "I don't know it seems like she's not lying" face expression
So Aybike allowed Ayla to go into the house.
Aybike:"My dear Berk, we're sure that a pot didn't fall on her head and everything is okay, right?"
Berk:"I swear, that's what I thought in the beginning but she insisted so much on coming here, I think this time she understood that she was in the wrong"
Ayla went on and on about how sorry she was for what she did to Sengul and her family. Orhan left to let Sengul and Ayla talk. They talked about how Gunul almost lost Afra because of her anger. When they started talking about people dying, Ayla mentioned Asiye and Omer's parents and asked Sengul how they died. Sengul said that their mother died in a car accident and their father died in a construction site and Ayla asked her if it was Akif's construction site. Sengul was surprised and asked her how she knew that, Ayla said that Berk told her about it (he didn't ofc). In this scene, Ayla was trying to confirm her suspicions and I know that she was using the apology as a pretext to do that but I wonder if her apology was sincere 🤔
The next day, Ayla got Resul's phone back from the repair shop and watched the video. She drove to Nebehat's house to confront Akif about this but Berk called her to tell her that Sengul is inviting them to the restaurant in the evening. However, he told her that Akif and Nebehat will be there too. Ayla said that she will be there. She thought that since everyone will be at the restaurant in the evening, it would be better to expose him there than confront him when they are alone. When she got to the restaurant, Ayla saw Akif and she showed him the video. Ayla said that she's going to show the video to everyone and Akif begged her not to do it. The episode ended with Ayla telling Omer and Asiye that she has something important to tell them.
The teaser shows Akif stopping Ayla by telling her:"I know that Berk is not your son"
Ayla:"What do you mean Berk is not my son? What kind of nonsense is this?"
Akif:"Berk is not Resul and Ayla's biological son"
Nebehat:"Was he adopted?"
Akif:"I wish he was"
and Sengul heard this
So according to the teaser, Ayla doesn't know that Berk is not her son which could mean Resul brought Berk to their lives. I said "could" because we don't know what kind of document Akif found in the box. If it's a DNA test then it means that Resul didn't know from the start bc why would he get a DNA test if he was the one who did all of this and that means someone else switched Ayla and Resul's real child with Berk.
However, if the document is not a DNA test then it means that this was Resul's doing. I hope they are going to show us the documents Akif found. If this was orchestrated by Resul then there are endless theories and possibilities.
First, the children must've been swapped when they were babies and maybe at birth otherwise Ayla would've noticed. It could be that Ayla's baby died and she didn't know but how do you amazon prime a baby? how did Resul get a baby so fast after Ayla's baby died. We know that Berk was not adopted which means that Resul did not get him from an orphanage. Some people suggested that Berk could still be related to Resul and Ayla, maybe they are his uncle/aunt and maybe Berk was the child of one of their siblings. Akif's response leads me to think that the way Resul got Berk was not Ethical or something tragic happened like what if Resul killed Berk's mother in an accident. Or what if Berk is the son of someone we know on the show. I saw people on twitter saying "maybe this is why Resul didn't like Berk and was distant with him" which is not true bc if it was then why would he have all those pictures of him with Berk as well as videos of Berk from important moments of his life. Resul treasured Berk, he was just a workaholic.
Berk will be so devastated it when he finds out about this. His life was basically a lie. I am sad for Berk but can't wait for Recep's performance. I am sure we’re all going to be crying with him. Btw Sengul heard this so this can't be good for us. We know that a major break up awaits AsDor and Susuom in the future bc of the secrets between them but Ayber is the only couple without a secret. I think Sengul will tell Aybike about this or Aybike will hear her talk about this with someone else (Ayla maybe). However, Aybike will hide this from Berk and when Berk finds out, he will break up with her. We never saw Aybike go after Berk, it was always her who broke up with him first and now I think it's her turn to beg for forgiveness.
USAF Department program launch of the seventh mission of the X-37B spacecraft
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 11/09/2023 - 17:00in Space
The U.S. Air Force Office of Rapid Capabilities Department, in partnership with the United States Space Force, is scheduled to launch the seventh mission of the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle on December 7, 2023 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Mission 7 of the X-37B will be launched for the first time on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, designated USSF-52, with a wide range of test and experimentation objectives. These tests include the operation of the reusable space plane in new orbital regimes, the experimentation of future space domain recognition technologies and the investigation of the effects of radiation on materials provided by NASA.
"We are excited to expand the range of the X-37B's reusable capabilities, using the flight-proven service module and the Falcon Heavy rocket to perform several cutting-edge experiments for the Air Force Department and its partners," said Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Fritschen, Director of the X-37B Program.
The X-37B Mission 7, also known as OTV-7, will expand the United States Space Force's knowledge of the space environment, experimenting with future space domain recognition technologies. These tests are essential to ensure safe, stable and secure operations in space for all domain users.
Head of Space Operations, General B. Chance Saltzman hailed these experiments as "innovators," saying: "The X-37B continues to equip the United States with the knowledge to improve current and future space operations. Mission 7 of the X-37B demonstrates the commitment of the USSF to innovation and the definition of the art of the possible in the space domain."
The NASA experiment on board will expose plant seeds to the hostile radiation environment of long-term spaceflight. Known as "Seeds-2", the experiment will be based on the success of previous experiments, paving the way for future manned space missions.
Previously, Mission 6 of the X-37B was the first mission to introduce a service module that expanded the capabilities of the spacecraft and allowed it to host more experiments than any of the previous missions. The spacecraft carried the experiment of the Photovoltaic Radio Frequency Antenna Module of the Naval Research Laboratory, which transformed solar energy into radio frequency microwave energy, and two NASA experiments to study the results of radiation and other spatial effects on a sample plate of materials and seeds used to grow food. Mission 6 of the X-37B also deployed the FalconSat-8, a small satellite developed by the U.S. Air Force Academy and sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory.
The Director of DAF RCO, William D. Bailey praised the collaborative partnership with the industry, noting: “The X-37B government and Boeing teams worked together to produce a more agile, flexible and adaptive experimentation platform. The work they have done to streamline processes and adapt evolving technologies will help our nation learn a lot about how to operate and return from a space environment."

Lucas: "Alright. Let's see…
If I were to come on a honeymoon to Velis… I would like to spend a leisurely time gazing at the stars with my partner.
The starry sky visible from here is more beautiful than anything else, but if you visit it with someone precious, and after tying the knot with them... It would feel even more beautiful.
Underneath a sky full of stars… Next to the person you love the most…
It'll truly feel like a honeymoon–a very enjoyable moment, don't you think so too, my lord?"
> "Certainly, it sounds wonderful"
Lucas: "And there… I would like to have a simple talk while drinking wine.
Things that made me happy recently...
stories of past failures...
I want to talk about trivial things…
Leisurely, talking about whatever… I want to have an indulgent time.
Because I can do that with someone I trust. Well, so, my ideal honeymoon is something like this."
> "It was very nice"
Lucas: "Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it, my lord.
Well then, next... let's hear from Lamli."
Lamli: "Huh? Me?"
> "Tell us, Lamli"
Lamli: "Yes, of course! Let's see…
If I were to come on a honeymoon to Velis… I would like to play in the sea with my partner!
I'm not good with sunlight, so playing for a long time might be difficult… But... I want to see many beautiful things together, like beautiful fish and coral!
And, I can see the face of my beloved person clearly under the sun…But, when it gets dark… As you would expect, I want to talk about various things with them while gazing at the starry sky.
Things like our future together... I want my partner to talk honestly about how they want to live.
I want to help make my partner's dream come true...
Oops…! Sorry!
The chat kinda got off track from the whole honeymoon thing."
> "I think it's wonderful, Lamli"
Lamli: "Ehehe. Thank you very much!
If I could go on such a wonderful trip with my lord… I would be so happy…"
> "With me?"
Lamli: "N-nothing!"
Muu: "Alright, finally… Mr. Nac, please go ahead!"
Nac: “My ideal honeymoon in Velis...
Well, I'm not into crowded places... I'd love to stroll by the sea in the morning with my partner.
Just the two of us on a quiet, deserted beach. And, with the beautiful sea as the background, I want to engrave the image of my beloved person into my eyes."
> "That sounds wonderful."
Nac: "Thank you very much.
And…
In the dim light before sunrise… The scars on my body won't stand out, even if I'm lightly dressed."
> "That's..."
> “I see…”
Nac: “It's a bit embarrassing when my scars are clearly visible in bright light…”
> “Isn't it okay not to worry too much?”
Nac: “M-my Lord?”
> “Personally I don't mind, at least”
Nac: “Th-thank you.
Fufu... Is that so? In that case...
Let's definitely walk under the bright sunshine together, my lord!”
Lamli: “Hey Nac... When did it turn into something like a honeymoon trip with the lord?”
Nac: “Oops...! I apologize for that.”
Lucas: “Fufu... It was wonderful, Nac.
Even though this honeymoon is all just a fantasy... I'm sure your partner will be someone who accepts everything about you, Nac.”
Nac: “Mr. Lucas…”
Lamli: “You don't need to worry so much about your scars, you know? Whether you have them or not, Nac being annoying won't change.”
Nac: “Even Lamli...
...Lamli.
...Just for now, let me say thank you.”
Lamli: “Huh... You're being so honest, it kinda creeps me out…”
Nac: “Ugh... I was expressing gratitude, why is that how you interpreted it...!”
Lucas: “Now, now, you two…”
Muu: “Hmm… In the end, it turned into a fight, huh…?”

Leta pressed herself even harder into the wall of her cell.
The woman—the witch—just stared at her through the cell door.
Leta wished the cold stone of the cell wall would swallow her whole.
If only I were an earth mage instead.
Not that such thoughts would help her. Not here, not now. Not with the witch right there.
Leta knew the stories. Everyone in town did. Witches were wild, dangerous folk. They broke away from civilized human society to live in the woods alongside the spirits, where no one would stop them from practicing their dangerous magic. They were child-stealers, kidnapping kids to raise them in their backwards society.
And they hated townsfolk.
Leta had heard one of the guards complaining about witches attacking the farms and houses outside the town wall. Was this witch here because of that? Was she part of a group infiltrating the town? Were they going to- to-
Leta didn’t even know what they might do. There were just too many ways this could go horribly, horribly wrong.
The witch turned her focus on Leta’s cell door. She did… something. Pulled something out of a pocket somewhere, and held it against the door. The lock whirred and clicked open.
These cells were supposed to keep townsfolk safe from mages. That was why Leta was locked in here in the first place. What good were they if a witch could just stroll in and open any door she pleased?
The witch pushed the door open and walked inside. The flames in her hand lit the cell with a flickering glow. Somehow it looked even worse in the firelight than it ever did when lit by a guard’s lantern.
She didn’t stop. She just kept coming, and there was nowhere for Leta to go. She was already pressed as far into the cell wall as she could physically go, the stone leeching precious heat from her body as it dug painfully into her. Leta couldn’t help but make a high, pathetic noise as the witch kept coming closer.
She was shivering. She had thought herself too cold to muster the energy for such movement any longer. Apparently the witch with her handful of flames sparked something in Leta, uncovered some reserve of energy that the cold hadn’t yet stolen from her.
The witch crouched down when she was barely more than an arm’s length away. She tilted her head to one side, eyes raking up and down Leta’s form.
“Hello,” she said. Her voice was low and comforting, like the crackle of a hearth-fire. “My name is Velissa. What’s yours?”
Leta shook her head, eyes never leaving the witch’s—Velissa’s—face.
“How long have you been in here?” Velissa asked.
Leta just shook her head again. She honestly didn’t know. Everything was so hard to keep track of, down in the dark, in the cold.
Velissa sighed softly, and Leta tried not to flinch. She failed. The witch massaged her forehead with the knuckles of the hand not occupied by fire.
“Do you want to get out of here?” she asked.
Leta had to bite her lip at that. She did; she wanted that more than almost anything. But with a witch?
Go, something deep in her chest urged her. It was the same place that had always held a certain warmth before the cell. Trust, and go.
The near-numb emptiness she’d grown used to feeling there was gone, replaced by a shivery, tentative warmth. It was nothing like what had been there before. Before, it had felt like the warmth of sitting near a fire on a cold night: comforting and safe. Now? It felt more like a tiny candle flame on a dark and stormy night: one last hope in the face of all the odds.
Was that her magic? If it was, could she even trust it? Magic was dangerous. Everyone knew that. It was dangerous and wild and anyone who used it was likely to get eaten alive by it. If this connection that she felt, this impossible urge to agree with the witch, was from her magic, then surely it couldn’t be trusted.
“Come on,” Velissa said, voice more urgent now. “You have to know what they’re going to do to you if you stay put. Do you really want that? Are you really going to turn down a chance at safety? At freedom?”
Leta bit her lip hard, trying to stay silent even as tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t. There was no way the witch was really going to save her. Not a town-girl like her. Why would she bother? This had to be a trick, a trap, something other than what it seemed.
But if she didn’t…
Leta knew the options that awaited her if she stayed. All of them ended with her death; the only differences were in the method, and how long she would suffer before the end came. Was that really better?
Which should she choose: the certainty, or the unknown?
If she were a stronger person, she would stay. Would do as she knew she should, and not put her trust in a witch.
But Leta wasn’t strong. Leta was tired, and scared, and so very cold.
“Please,” she said, voice weak and rough from disuse.
A unique and patented indicator for measuring temperature was presented at "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" University.
How to monitor the body temperature of children and adults around the clock, without using a device, with the help of a thermochromic indicator was presented for the first time at the University in Burgas.
The innovative and unique product has already been registered in the Bulgarian patent office and is the result of hard, responsible scientific work in the conditions of a public-private partnership.
The rector of the higher institution Prof. Magdalena Mitkova presented the team of chemists and doctors who developed the product. Among them are the vice-rector of the university Prof. Svetlana Zheleva, Dr. Anton Tanev, Prof. Ivaylo Tankov, Dr. Anife Veli and Dr. Radoslava Nikolova.
From the presentation of Prof. Zheleva, it became clear that the indicator is able to register any inflammation of a different nature in the human organism as soon as it appears. The product is already produced by "Unichimko-therm LLC" and is expected to be available in the pharmacy network soon.
The Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Dimitar Nikolov, representatives of the Maritime Municipality, RHI, major hospitals and other institutions and organizations in the region were the first to learn about the qualities of the product.
The thermochromic indicator is unique and innovative due to the following qualities:
- Its completely harmless composition.
- A quick way to record a person's body temperature rise in real-time.
- Acts for a long time as an application on human skin.
- After use, it does not need to be stored as hazardous waste.
- Quick visual reading in tracking the change in body temperature over a long period of time, not just at a certain moment - a minute or an hour.
- Ability to be used daily and/or permanently.
- It is a facilitation in order to detect a general or local infectious or other type of inflammation in the human body and to take measures for treatment in a timely manner.
How to measure body temperature
Until now, mercury, alcohol and electronic thermometers were the only way to measure body temperature.
By placing a one-time application of the Thermochromic Indicator, the body temperature can be read immediately and in real-time. The incredible advantage of this product is that the moment the temperature starts to rise, by means of a color change of the applied application, with an accuracy of 0.1°C, the temperature value can be registered even before the body reacts with other symptoms.
The thermochromic indicator allows to track the temperature after its single application for up to 48 hours. This depends on the correct execution of the instructions.
The product was developed on the basis of a microencapsulated pigment, soluble in a non-aqueous bio-environment. Cleans easily with water or a dry cloth.
Susen was taken to the hospital. Her injuries weren't critical. When she woke up, Tolga thanked her for saving him. She was about to tell him about Leyla but Oglucan stopped her. Susen said that she actually came to talk to Tolga but Oglucan stopped her and told Tolga that since she and Omer weren’t speaking, she came to ask Tolga about how the fashion show went. Akif sent Tolga to buy something from the hospital's cafeteria and Omer went outside to talk to Asiye on the phone so only Akif and Oglucan stayed with Susen. Akif said that he can’t believe she was still planning on telling Tolga everything after what happened to her. Oglucan told her that she doesn’t have to do that, he believes her. Oglucan told Omer that the reason why he fought with Susen was because she knew about Afra leaving and she didn’t tell him. Omer believed him. When Susen got discharged, Omer and Oglucan brought her to the chicken coop to stay with them until she gets better.
Berk told Ayla that he can't get along with Elif so she needs to leave especially after what she did to Orhan. He told Ayla that Elif messed with his alarm and because of her, he missed an exam. Ayla told him that he didn't see her change his alarm so how did he know that she was the one who did it. Ayla defending Elif made him go crazy 😂 Elif was eavesdropping and she was so mad. She said that she is going to leave. She packed her bags and was about to leave but Ayla managed to stop her. Elif told Ayla that she would stay if she made Berk drop her off at school and help her with her physics homework and Ayla agreed. I don’t know if Ayla was serious about this because there is no way she can make Berk do all of this 😂 Berk later was texting with Doruk and he was complaining about Elif. He told Doruk that if Elif doesn’t leave their house then he will.
Orhan saw that a plumber shop in their neighborhood was being sold. The owner wants to leave town and that's why he is selling his shop, however the price was very high. Aybike and Asyie saw an announcement online about a music competition and decided to participate to try and win the money prize. They wanted to use it to buy the shop for Orhan. Berk asked Aybike if Orhan knows how to repair stuff at home and she said that he can do everything from repairing to painting. Berk told her that they have been looking for someone to paint their house for a while. He asked if Orhan would accept to do that and Aybike said that it was work so yes he will accept. He told her that he will talk to his mom then.
Berk:”Since aunt Sengul and uncle Orhan are not around, the environment is suitable for this”
Aybike:”For what?”
Then Berk kissed her 🥰
Berk:”to give my girlfriend a big kiss on her cheek and leave after that”
Aybike:”Then give me another kiss”
Berk:”all you have to do is ask”
Then he kissed her again
Doruk told Akif that Elif is Sengul’s relative so he asked Sengul about Elif. Sengul told him that she heard him talk about Berk's bio family with Nebehat so she went to look for them. She told him that since Elif’s mom died she took her to Ayla. Akif told her that he doesn’t believe that the death of Berk’s mom was an accident, especially since she died close to Ayla’s home. He told her that he thinks Ayla is involved in her death. Sengul panicked and ran away. She later went to see Ayla and told her that Akif is close to finding out the truth about Berk’s mom’s death. Ayla told her not to worry and that she knows how to stop him if he found out the truth. I guess this means that she has a copy of Veli’s murder video maybe? Or maybe she’s planning on just telling the Erens about Veli’s death without any proof?
Nebehat told Akif that she lost a lot of money because she invested in some stocks that a friend of hers recommended to her. I think Nebehat is doing this to see if Akif is going to stay with her even if she doesn’t have any money. To make up for the losses (which are fake), Akif agreed to rent a part of the club to a friend. This guy is going to transform the place into an illegal casino/gambling den. I think this will cause a problem in the remaining episodes. The police might raid this place and might close the club.
When the kids told the dean that they were going to participate in a music competition, he let them use the music room at the school. Yasmin said that she will film them and then will edit the video and send it to them but ofc she was lying, she was there to sabotage the whole thing. She told them that she got robbed and lost the video. Thankfully, Emel filmed them with Oglucan’s phone so they uploaded that version. Unfortunately, they didn’t win but their video went viral on social media and a producer from a record label called them. He wants to make an album with them. Yep you heard it right! An album 😂
This was a very boring episode but I hope the remaining 3 episodes will have better events/pace since we’re so close to the finale. No teaser was released since they are still filming ep 92.
Before I begin, let me paint you a picture (don’t worry, it’s on-topic, just a quick hypothetical to help set up the discussion): You’ve got this friend, for the sake of simplicity, his name is Josh. Josh’s kind of notorious for his unpopularity with the ladies, and his previous track record with women speaks that point loud and clear. He’s never held a long-term relationship with anybody, despite his very vocal desires for romantic companionship.
Then one day, while you’re scrolling through the torrent of self-pitying messages, and passive aggressive, borderline misogynistic, memes posted to his Twitter page about the friendzone, Josh texts you that he’s got a date on Thursday with somebody named Monika. Although you’re sure this will end in another broken hearted Friday night bar run, your expectations are suddenly jostled as Josh invites you to meet her before their Thursday night outing.
You show up to Josh’s apartment, and find him dressed in a full on tuxedo, complete with a comically large bouquet of roses, presumably for his lucky date. He asks if you’d like to meet her now, which only further perplexes you, as the apartment is seemingly empty besides the two of you. Josh assures you all is well, and proceeds to open up his laptop to reveal a brunette anime girl sitting at a desk, dressed equally as extravagantly as himself, whom he then proceeds to introduce as Monika, before she does the same, after Josh prompts her to do so via an on-screen textbox.
Although you may have several words in mind to describe Josh after this interaction, an increasingly popular term to describe a person who has developed romantic or sexual feelings for a fictional character is “fictoesxual”.
The concept of people turning to non-human entities for romantic fulfillment has become increasingly prevalent over the past decade or so, especially with the strides in artificial intelligence making interacting with computers more lifelike than ever before. Although the idea of people crushing on fictional entities is nothing new, I believe the first coining of the term came courtesy of a study published in January 2021 by Finnish psychologists Doctors Veli-Matti Kasrhulahti and Tanja Valisalo. The investigation consisted of the two searching through internet forums related to users discussing their attraction for fictional entities, and found that many of those who categorize themselves as attracted to fictional characters (another term coined by the study), were aware of the parasocial nature of their relationships with the fictional entities.
In addition to “fictosexuality”, “fictoromance” and “fictophille” were terms used during the discussion, and although the authors opted for the lattermost descriptor when discussing their work, I have chosen to use the formermost term, as it seems to be the preferred word by outlets reporting on fictosexuality, such as this article published last year in The New York Times about a Japanese man marrying Hatsune Miku, or this 2107 report from Kotaku about a research company including in their job listings that they would not only internally honor employee’s marriages to fictional characters, but that they would include such benefits as a 5,000 yen stipend, on top of additional time off for their waifu or husbando’s birthday.
I’ll be candid with you, my inspiration for this topic was born mostly out of a rejection I had received from the paper I write for. They were writing a block of valentine’s day pieces, and offered to the group an article about “controversial Valentine’s Day opinions”. I took them up on the offer, and wrote an article about how the idea of people choosing to live their lives in committed relationships with fictional characters may seem odd and fringe for now, but given the blazingly fast advancements that have been made, and will likely continue to be made in the field of AI, we’re likely only to see more and more people turning to non-human entities such as fictional characters for romantic fulfillment.
Of course, as I mentioned, this topic was rejected. It was too controversial if you’d believe it (actually almost cost me my job that I don’t get paid for), but the fact that it remained unpublished almost cements my point that this remains an uncomfortable possibility that we may have to deal with sooner than we may expect.
