This family picked me up off the street.

I rode down from camping in Godall and grabbed lunch at the supermarket. I was eating on my bike as usual and this car pulled up next to me. In the car is a family and we start talking. They are Venezuelans living in Spain where the husband has Italian heritage. The human diaspora story is so interesting to me. I love asking the questions “How did you get here?” And people tell me their family history, migration because of some war, world event, governmental influence, economic crisis, etc. It��s living history and very interesting.

Anywho, I tell them my story and the first thing they ask me is if I want to come over and shower 😹 Do I smell that bad? There is a bike width distance between us and we’re outside 🫠 I’m kidding, I just think it’s hilarious this is always the first thing people offer me. I politely decline. I only just showered 4 days ago, I still feel clean 😺 We exchange contact information and go our separate ways

They then send me a text and invite me over again. I’ve learned if someone asks twice, then I should 99% go. Sometimes energies pull you beyond your own willpower. I ride over to their house and they welcome me into their home. They feed me and give me tea.

As a guest, I always notice when a family gives their guest the best cut or serving. The father gave up his plate for me, and I felt bad, but you literally can’t refuse food from hospitable people when you enter their home or else they’ll give you twice as much. This is one of those things where I just give up and stop fighting.

Grateful for this wholesome family who picked up a dirty, smelly, tattooed biker off the street and gave me a feeling of home.

El apareció en mi camino y no por casualidad, la primera vez que nos vimos yo trabajaba lavando lozas y ayudando en la cocina de un restaurant (yo era la máquina de hacer papas) donde luego de unos meses el regresaba después de laborar hace un tiempo atrás en ese lugar, ahí nos conocimos, debo decir que al principio no me caía muy bien, nuestros temperamentos chocaron en ese comienzo pero muy en el fondo sabía que eran solo mis prejuicios, sabía que detrás de esa carisma, de esa piel morena caribeña se escondía más de lo que se reflejaba, aprendí a descubrirlo, a escucharlo y sobretodo a valorarlo, valorar a una de las personas más importantes que me ha regalado esta aventura llamada Chile, los mejores vínculos los he logrado por mi espontaneidad, esa misma que utilice para decirle -Marico vamos a arrendar algo juntos y nos ayudamos entre los dos- al mes ya estábamos en nuestra primera mansión lgbt 🏳️‍🌈 era como un reality show, donde reí, bebí, baile, volé y sobretodo viví junto a una persona extraordinaria que hasta el sol de hoy lo único que ha hecho es mostrarme su verdadera esencia, esa faceta que logro sacar de cada una de las personas que se cruza en mi camino, conocerlas tal cual y como son, darles ese apoyo que se merecen, convencerlos de su fuerza y su poder de lograr, ese que es indetenible, salvaje como una pantera pero noble como su corazón, de esos que siempre llevas contigo y que ni los números que representan los kilómetros de distancia que ahora tenemos pueden subestimar a una verdadera hermandad, agradecido por este viaje que me reencuentra una vez más con gente bella, maravillosa, humilde y que demuestra su amor por lo bueno, como los momentos que no se borran, esos que se quedan y son para siempre!

Te amo hermano, gracias por siempre dar lo mejor de ti en todo 🌟💓 y que nada apague ese brillo 🤩 ese que aún está en ti, ese que destaca -Rubia Sol, Morena Luna-🎶
