Venom literally has healing abilities 😭😭, he broke his nose and re-healed it just again to be petty

Did venom decide to purposely not heal this one for aesthetic reasons (or Eddie told him he wanted a cool scar)😭, or is he just being petty again ?

SPOILERS FOR SYMBIOTE SPIDERMAN 2099: ISSUE #1

I will be discussing my thoughts and opinions about the recently released Issue of Symbiote Spiderman 2099 which will include MAJOR SPOILERS.

Tbh I don’t have much to say at the moment since everything is only getting started lollll

This is all my own opinion 🦈

Not what I expected yet left me pleasantly surprised. Tbh, I had expected the symbiote issue to pick up after Dark Genesis and got whiplash when we were taken all the way back to Issue #43 of the original run.

I was never a huge fan of the flooding plot so I’m glad it wasn’t focused too much upon in this issue, fingers crossed for the rest of the series!

Now, the art. Mixed feelings. It seems that there may have been some miscommunication between the art and story teams because who tf is this blue eyed, non-cunty, straight haired Miguel????? (Like aren’t comic Miguel’s eyes always red and even if they weren’t his eyes were green pre-spidering??) Also they didn’t draw his talons right. Where are his high waisted pants >:(

HOWEVER

Roge Antonio absolutely rocked every panel with the symbiotes (which makes sense considering his work with Carnage)! The action scenes with the Venom were wonderfully fluid and creative and I’m especially excited for what Miguel’s fighting style will look like with his new symbiote.

Oh yeah, Miguel is also hosting a new unnamed symbiote??? The setup for that seems like fun and I’m excited to see what they do with the next issue.

Now, Kron…

I’m actually really hoping we get some more characterization of Kron in this series, we delve too deep in this issue but I am surprisingly intrigued by Kron where I wasn’t so much in the past. David seems to be showing a more sympathetic side to Kron and I’m looking forward to see if that is expanded on further.

In summary: pretty solid first issue! The beginning was a little awkward due to the flood plot but once that was done the story picked up. I’m definitely gonna reread the last couple of issues of Miguel’s 90’s run to make sure I don’t miss anything ;). Let’s hope Peter David doesn’t pull a Steve Orlando.

Excited for more, fingers crossed for some existentialist Miggy content :)

comparing malevolent and venom (or: why private eyes and symbrock are the same ship in different fonts)

spoilers ahead for the venom movies, various venom comics, and s1 of malevolent!!

Arthur is a PI, Eddie is an investigative journalist. Both of them ran into their body mates through their investigations (specifically movies!Eddie, comics!Eddie does not share this origin)

The Entity takes the name John through experiences with Arthur. When Arthur is in a coma for a month, the nurses don’t know his name and refer to him as John Doe. The Entity notices this and finds solace in it. When Arthur wakes, the Entity tells Arthur to refer to him as John. In the Venom comics, their collective name “Venom” came from Eddie being deranged about losing his job as a reporter. He tells Peter to call them Venom, because that’s what he’s paid to write at the shitty tabloids he’s employed at.

Though the Venom Symbiote has a name from its home world, many characters throughout the comics refer to it as Venom, implying they kept the name Eddie gave them.

In episode 9, John and Arthur argue until they give each other the silent treatment, leading to them getting caught by the police because John did not warn him there were officers. After realizing they need to work together, John and Arthur escape from the officers (and the supernatural lake monster). Towards the end of that episode, John tells Arthur that “you and I are one, and I need to begin to see us as one.” In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom and Eddie have a rather dramatic break up that ends with them separating from each other. Eddie then gets arrested and brought in as a suspect in Cletus Kassidy’s escape. Venom, in Anne’s body, comes back and breaks Eddie out of police custody. After some apologies from Eddie (though if you ask me Venom also should’ve been apologizing but alas) they bond with each other again. Later through the power of love symbiosis, Venom and Eddie acting as one are able to defeat Carnage.

In episode 12, it’s revealed that John is a fragment of The King In Yellow. The cult gives the King the ability to fully realize itself and take over Arthur’s body, but the King is unable to. The part of itself, John, has become so entangled with Arthur that it cannot fully erase Arthur from itself. In the Venom 2018-2021 run (I know, I’m drawing on Cates. i cannot believe I’m using him to prove a point), the King in Black, Knull, is trying to take over Earth. It corrupts symbiotes, makes them nothing more than servants for it. Knull was unable to corrupt the Venom symbiote specifically because it could not burn the light (Eddie) out of it.

USM Good Carnage!Harry AU

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR USM S2 & S4 WILL BE MENTIONED

I’ve been getting back into USM & recently, I’ve rewatched S4E21-23 (Spider-Slayers Trilogy), S2E8 (Carnage) and have gotten hooked on this amazing Parksborn fic by @ultimatepeter-man​.

Before I get into the actual AU idea, pls bear with me. In the Spider-Slayers Trilogy, MJ debuted as Spider-Woman.

Long story short: After the whole Carnage Queen fiasco, some of the symbiote stayed bonded to her which gave her a suit + powers similar to Agent Venom.

Now let me make this clear. I LOVE badass action girls & the first time I watched this, I was thrilled to see MJ get a chance to shine as a fellow spider.

BUT

Honestly? This doesn’t vibe with me, mainly bcz it feels waaaaay too rushed. This literally happened near the end of the show. The fact that MJ was largely absent throughout the series made it feel as though the writers wanted to shove the MJ x Parker ship into our faces after not touching a het ship at all.

(Pls note that I have NOTHING against that ship. I’m just saying that the writers didn’t do it right here.)

Which brings me to my next point: our boi Harry Osborn, who compared to MJ, played a much bigger role throughout the series. He had more involvement, more development and frankly, USM Harry had some of the best chemistry with Peter. Yes USM is what got me into Parksborn, so sue me. 

Which brings me to this AU:

Instead of MJ getting a symbiote power-up at the end of the series run, let Harry get one. Except this time, (1) he firmly uses it for good & (2) it’s the Carnage symbiote.

How it happens:

-During S2E8, slight divergence wherein Peter successfully tells Harry he’s Spidey before most things proceed like canon.

-However, during the fight, Goblin seemingly manages to destroy Venom, leaving Harry ‘powerless’.....or so everyone thinks.

-Cue Parksborn going on a date, baddies attack and BOOM! Harry reveals that the symbiote decided to stay with him.

-Sprinkling some inspo from MSM, Carnage now has an orange-grey color scheme similar to Hobgoblin.

-Old married couple bickering happens between Parksborn as they kick ass back to back.

-“Why didn’t you tell me?!” “Says the guy who was Spidey for how many years now?!” “This better not be your villain origin story!” “Two words. Daddy issues. But I’m still here, aren’t I?” “....touche.”

-MJ can still be involved of course, but maybe as their guy in the chair. Maybe she helps SHIELD by trying to contact other teenage heroes who are on the run/living on the streets. 

-But yeah, Pete gets a BF + new teammate, SHIELD academy happens and Harry briefly has a rivalry with Flash/Agent Venom bcz he’s lowkey salty abt how he treated Peter in the past before getting over it.

The end.
