hey everyone ! by reading call of duty fanfictions, I was inspired and I would like to help writers who are struggling to find code names for their character (whether for y/n [the reader] or for original characters) !

here then is a list of codenames (with their definition, their meaning and what they reflect of the person who has it, arranged in alphabetical order) :

– the person who bears this name (here a woman, because of the funfact of this code name below), could have a soft and welcoming apparence (according to others). She is literally sweet, very calm, rather unsociable and a little shy, but who nevertheless knows how to get out of her comfort zone and be an excellent ally: faithful, efficient and always there for the good moment. We consider ourselves lucky to have her and we do not want to lose her (in anyway, no matter what relationship we have with her).

– Fun fact! : This code name is taken from « She’s my collar », the name of one of Gorillaz and Kali Uchis' songs (two artists I love. This song is a featuring they made together.). In the song, the "collar" was very important and necessary, we can’t hate her. We always end up coming back to her, no matter how ok you try to get away from her. She's literally the collar.

– i don’t really have a personality ideas of the person who would bear this name (gender doesn't matter, this one is neutral in my opinion). However, I think the code name itself says a lot about the role of the person wearing it: they would probably be someone in charge, leading a group.

– Fun fact! : ‘Crown’ is the name of one of Freddie Dredd's songs (an artist I appreciate very much. my favorite song from him is Witness.)

I’m probably gonna sound very disjointed. But I have an idea for a superhero campaign where all the P.Cs are kids cause all adults have disappeared.

I thought MASKS would be a good system for this but my friend informed me that in order for MASKS to work you kinda need mentor characters.

So in your opinion, what would be a good, easy to learn superhero based system to run this game.

THEME: Superheros, Kids - Only

Henshin, by Cave of Monsters Games.

Henshin A Sentai RPG is a storytelling tabletop game about young heroes with transformative powers who battle both monsters and personal problems. It borrows from a Japanese superhero culture of color-coded masked teams, giant robots, and over-the-top special effects. Anyone can tell fun, collaborative stories in Henshin!, regardless of familiarity with the tropes, and the game showcases a diversity of settings and characters for every player.

This book includes instructions and actual play examples for everything needed to start playing Henshin! right away. Also included are the eleven Color playbooks, seven ready-to-play settings, original exclusive art, and references to digital downloads. Resources and information can be found at henshingame.com. Let’s Henshin!

Henshin is inspired by the Tokusatsu genre of superhero media, and reminds me intensely of Power Rangers. Your characters will wrestle with personal obstacles such as dealing with their temper, their failures, and the way they are seen by their peers. The system is inspired by No Dice, No Masters but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily GM-less, just that it doesn’t use dice. Henshin’s settings are also very flexible, so you should be able to write your own custom setting in which the kids have taken on super-powered relics in order to survive in a world without adults.

Masks: Retconned, by Sam Roberts.

You’re like most teenagers, with one small difference: You’re a superhero. Fight villains, be part of a team, save the day, and maybe, slowly figure out who you are.

Masks: Retconned is a game of teen superhero adventures, designed for 3+ players. Most of the players will take on the role of individual Heroes on a Team. Imagine these as the protagonists of your new comic book series. One player takes on the role of GM, embodying the superheroic setting, supporting characters, and villains.

If you like the basic premise of Masks but you don’t want to deal with the adult entanglements, you might want to take a look at Masks: Retconned. The game is very bare-bones, and only has the basic mechanics - your stats, your emotions, and the graded success scale and what it means for moves. The rest is meant to be designed as you need it. So if you don’t mind doing a little bit of game design before you sit down to play, you might want to check this out!

Become the Teen With Attitude you always wanted to be Inspired by tokusatsu hero teams and magical girl squads, PbC is a game about building a brightly-coloured Hero team and playing their adventures across a Series, fighting to save the world from evil!

PbC brings all players together to collaborate on crafting a Series, with its own aesthetics for heroes and villains, its own setting, and unique qualities for each hero. Play comprises the Episodes of the Series: both the Heroes' lives, and fights against Boss characters. It uses a relatively straightforward d6 system and encourages the Hero players to think about how their individual actions work towards a team strategy, bolstering allies and keeping momentum!

Characters in PbC are embodiments of different virtues, and these virtues will define your personal strengths, as represented in the Verbs and Adjectives assigned to your character. Relationships are also important in this game, and this is represented by connections that each player will have with side characters, whether that be positive or negative. Overall the game is still very lighthearted, as it’s inspired by Saturday morning cartoons.

When you try to do something in PbC, you roll a number of d6’s, and check to see how many results were unique. The more unique results you have, the more successes! This means that there’s a cap on how successful your character ca be, but I think the fact that any roll is going to have at least one success really communicates the tone of this game. This another game where the setting is build-your-own, and I don’t see any mechanics that require adults to be part of the setting.

Teens With Powers, by Unknown Dungeon.

Teens with Powers is a one-page roleplaying game about extraordinary young people, inspired by TV shows like Teen Titans and Avatar the Last Airbender, and shonen manga. As a group, the players and GM come up with the setting, themes, and age-range of the characters. Then each player creates a character with a singular power that they can use to help solve problems and fight evil, while also traversing the trials of being young adults.

Teens with Powers uses a dice-pool system to resolve risky actions, and a back-and-forth combat system to allow of maximum expression and excitement. Also included is a back-page with GM advice and rules.

Teens with Power is a stripped-down Forged in the Dark game. There isn’t much of a setting involved in the first place, so you should be able to build your own setting to fit your preferences. The downside is that there isn’t much guidance or inspiration for powers, so it might be worth it to check out something like Supertables to help you come up with your powers.

This ruleset has a mechanic called Limit, which tracks how close your character is coming to breaking down - push too far, and you lose control of your powers, likely causing damage and hurting something or someone you care about. This might be also good for a high-tension game where the disappearance of adults is the cause of a lot of stress and fear for your characters.

Super City, by David Garrett.

One in every one hundred children in Super City is born with super powers. You are one of those children. Together with your classmates at Super City Elementary, you save helpless citizens, rescue lost pets, and eat delicious ice cream.

Utilizing the ultralight VRBS system, Super City is easy enough for a six year-old to master, but also provides the structure for anyone to generate a superhero story of their own.

Super City was designed to be able to run for small kids, so the rule-set is definitely very light. Your powers will be represented as verbs, and you’ll gain better control over your powers as you progress. The game is organized over a series of scenes, which will present you with a number of problems that you’ll have to solve. You also have a collective pool of Energy, which is meant to track how close your characters are to running out of steam. The goal is to get through the mission without running out of Energy, which depletes when you fail a roll.

This is a game without a setting or history, which means you can backfill whatever lore makes sense for your characters.

Cosmic Ray Kids, by Hedgemaze Press.

Cosmic Ray Kids is a single-page (front and back) atomic-age adventure roleplaying game for all ages. Play as superpowered youngsters who fight the forces of evil with heroics and heart!

Cosmic Ray Kids uses a push-your-luck style of gameplay, that looks very much like the PUSH system by Cezar Capacle. Rolling a 6 is the best possible result. If you roll a 4 or lower, you can choose to roll again - but roll higher than a 7 and you’ve gone too far!

This game also has a Boost resource that is communal, and can be spent to improve a roll up to a certain point. This gives the players an option in case there is something that they can’t risk a re-roll for but still need a success, and also encourages the group to work together to figure out how to solve problems. If you want a game that has a retro-cartoon feel that encourages the characters to work together, Cosmic Ray Kids might be worth checking out!

A Special Extra:

It’s not a superhero game, but Children of the Fall is a GM-less game that takes place in an apocalypse that has turned adults into bloodthirsty monsters. It’s very gritty and dark, but an interesting premise.

I cannot help but notice we are sitting-in-a-tree. So, you know, maybe we could think of something to do… verb-wise. (I want us to gerund, essentially.)

“Republic’s getting rid of the Donut.”

Mike didn’t stop wiping the pint in his hand as he squinted through the windows, the corner of his eyes wrinkling in a way that was too familiar. “Really?”

“Yeah,” the Sullustan said, still peering over his shoulder with his large black eyes, schadenfreude writhing in their depths. With the olive green faded and stained, the cuffed gloves he took off were starting to unravel at the seams. “It’s been, what, fifteen, twenty years since it was installed and then pebbled by ‘em kids? I lost count.”

The ‘pebbles’ were actually rocks that were the size of a Wookie’s fist, picked up from the remains of the construction site the Empire left behind with the rest of the trash after they built the thirty-floored spherical building with a hole in it. Rodents and wild animals resided in between the wreck and stank, and it had taken the quick action of their people to contain the sickness that took more than they should have gone through.

Someone had gotten hold of one of the trucks. A rock was tied to the paddle with a piece of rope, pressing onto the gas, and the people had witnessed the destruction the truck caused when it crashed through the transparisteel double doors of the main entrance.

Just less than a decade ago, that was where the elite and Imperial officers would hold their meetings; a spread of their finest local dishes with all varieties of smell and taste, spicy and sweet, their textures like honey that melted in their mouths. Toniray wine and attar of spinsilk would bubble in flute glasses, acting as barriers between senators who hated each other, lies upon lies flowing through their mouths like the bottomless drinks offered to them.

The people of Bastion turned even more remorseless.

Luke knew the Sullustan worked in the mines. He knew the older man was one of those who looked on when a crowd watched their fellow citizens wrecked justice on the eye-sore that leeched them of their basic rights to live and survive.

There was a certain satisfaction in watching a fascist regime collapse under their own hands. Whatever remaining Imperial disdain towards the working class, the poor, had fled with the rest of their friends, and Bastionans were more than happy to chase them off the planet with their roar of triumph.

“That long, huh?” Mike was already filling the pint with Corellian ale. “Feels shorter, sometimes.”

“Sometimes,” the Sullustan reminded him, taking a sip of his drink. “Most times, my blind tortoise would’ve moved faster, bless her little soul.

“Dread’s a hell of a drug, I’ll give you that,” Mike crossed the space and set the drink down in front of Luke. “Here ya go, Luke. One ale.”

satellite. It's so sudden and random and weird. Death be that way sometimes.

hell nah, I have too many skinny bitches in my game as it is

religiously, and then I yell at my sims when they throw routing errors

I got university from the library lol but I think the first one I owned was open for business, which was a revelation at the time. I always wanted nightlife but was too afraid to ask my mom for it cause it looked SEXY. now, as an adult, can confirm nightlife is the best one. but I am a sexual deviant, so.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

in my head it's like "aLIVE" but from a linguistic perspective I gotta concede that the "LIVing" pronunciation makes more sense because it's consistent with the other modes (buy/build) which are verbs not adjectives

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

I hate all my loser sims I guess I have a sweet spot for a child sim I made back when I was a child. She lived in a trailer, had big droopy eyes like Brittany Spears, and was named Miami.

yeah I basically always have one but she's a townie. to play her would be weird. here's the bitch

sims 3 is hideous (sorry bout it), sims 4 has lovely landscapes but the gameplay is akin to watching paint dry. I'm sure I'll love the sims 1 once I get around to playing it. I like creepy weird stuff.

i wouldnt let myself be seen dead in sims merch also fuck EA

I have too much CC to also run a screen recorder without tons of crashing lol I have no self control

with every passing day i am more of a builder and more of a maximalist also i keep making animal sims now like some kind of furry *shudders*

since 2017. I was a baby in undergrad then. making sims stories was like my therapy. now im an adult with real therapy.

Get to Know Me - Sims Edition

I was tagged by @papermint-airplane and @petrolstationflowers! Thank youuuu 🧡

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I generally don't allow my sims to die of anything but old age, but I would like to try out all the different deaths and ghosts at some point. The haunting curse ghost looks especially cool.

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

A mix of both? I tend to use Maxis-type clothes and furniture with textured patterns. I like most of my stuff to be fairly gameplay-friendly as well and it bothers me when there's clipping with sims animations so I don't use too many alpha clothes.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Not generally, but I find that most EA sims are just very skinny? I had the pregnancy weight-gain mod installed, but the results were so extreme that I removed it and cheated the weight myself.

Do you move objects?

I mainly use it for storytelling, but is it even possible to play this game without using move objects sometimes?

Favorite Mod?

What an impossible question! If I had to choose one mod I can't live without, it'd be NRaas MasterController, but in terms of gameplay mods, I'm really enjoying adding new recipes and harvestables to my game these days. That's a lot of different mods together, so maybe I'm cheating a bit with that answer, haha.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

The first sims game I was ever able to successfully install was Sims 2 and I think it was a "Deluxe" package that came with Nightlife? I don't remember what my first pack was for Sims 3. Maybe Late Night as well?

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing

It's an adjective, isn't it? Like 'alive.' Listen, I get that it's probably supposed to be the other one, since they have some weird theme of using verbs as adjectives. But 'live' is already an adjective, so no-one is going to say it that way.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

How can I choose just one?? I do obviously love Rose a lot. She's adorable.

Have you made a simself?

Oh yes. Honestly I'm shocked so many of you don't. I automatically insert myself into every fantasy hahaha I am very self-absorbed.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

I don't even really remember which ones there are as defaults in Sims 3? I don't particularly love any of them.

Favorite EA hair?

Hmmm I enjoy the long male hair from Supernatural, especially on beardy men. And I also really like the 'modern braids' female hair from the store.

Favorite life stage?

Like most people, it's YA, sorry.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Definitely gameplay. I am trying to be a bit better at building, but it's such a slog.

Are you a CC creator?

I have dabbled, so I suppose, technically yes.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

I don't know about a 'squad' but I'm pretty sure I have friends. I don't discord or anything, so if we're commenting on each other's posts, then I consider us friends? Hopefully that's okay lol

Do you have a YouTube for sims?

No, I have no interest in trying to play the game in a way that's entertaining for other people. I do that the rest of the day; sims time is just for me.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I've put a lot more effort into aesthetics recently. Setting things up takes more time but I get a lot more enjoyment out of the game once it's done.

What’s your origin id?

I guess I probably have made one at some point but I have no idea what it is and I don't think I've ever used it. It's also just as likely that I actually don't have one.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

So many impossible questions 😭 There's no way I can choose only one, but these days I'm always eagerly anticipating posts from @nightospheresims, @sim-songs, and @nectar-cellar.

How long have you had simblr?

It's complicated, haha! I had a simblr way back in... 2011-2012-ish? It was a messy time on simblr and in my life so I was never really able to develop a healthy relationship with it and I eventually deleted my blog after being inactive for a long time. Then after continuing my legacy story just for myself at a snail's pace for about a decade, I decided it was time to share with y'all again, and I opened this blog in October 2021.

How do you edit your pictures?

Reshade is first, and if a shot is taken outdoors and it's for a gameplay post, then sometimes that's it. If it's a bit darker than I'd like, I might apply all or part of this action using Photopea. Sometimes even more than once if it's really dark.

If it's a storytelling shot, I'll then also do manual debanding by selecting an area, copying it to a new layer, applying a gaussian blur, and then erasing around the edges to clean it up. It's tedious but also relaxing? And very satisfying in the end.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Sims 3 has so many bangers but I love Ambitions a lot even though it's a glitchy mess sometimes. It's just so much fun.

Things you learn about the OG Colour Squad in Roadtrip that bring me serotonin:

Amira sometimes applies sports anime logic to solve problems. I dont know why but she does in an event. God forbid she watches anime with Dahlia. Embodies the "a little confused but has the right spirit" meme a lot. Is confirmed ride or die for the squad.

Brian has a big family including a dog. Thus my comparison of Colour Squad to Mystery Gang is real. Also for as sleepy as he is, he has an unusual amount of fucking energy. No thats not am adjective, thats the verb.

Oz gets anxious about having to make decisions until he is very clearly informed he does NOT have to make decisions in the game. He is absolutely relieved to have that responsibility off his shoulders. He is also isnt sure where the phobias came from. He just has them and they are his little buddies.

Vicky got upset about not being able to fix a normal car engine. She had that sad puppy face when in true MP fashion, it was run by entities who thought the engine was the universe. Let her build and fix normal things!!! Its what she deserves!

Lenny gets selected for the Kennedy Center Honors

“Ladies and Gentlemen…Midge Maisel!”

The music swells and Midge smiles widely as she steps out onto the stage at the Kennedy Center, looking out at the crowd.

“Good evening, everyone,” she says. “For the little kids in the crowd, my name is Midge Maisel - or that dirty lady comic whose records your parents wouldn’t let you listen to. And I am, in fact, Mrs. Lenny Bruce. Normally, as the spouse of an honoree, I’d be sitting behind him right now, but I’m too much of a troublemaker, and Joann Woodward was concerned about my proximity to Paul Newman. So instead, I’ll be your MC to honor my husband.”

“I met Lenny in the back of a squad car on the way to jail. He got arrested a lot in those days. The cops and the government really had it out for him, because he was saying the things no one was saying in public. He was talking about interratial coupling, and religion and the half truths our newspapers would tell us. He talked about social problems. Racism. All the things that exist in the world that are broken. He pissed off a lot of people. They called him a ‘sick comedian’ for saying the things that made people uncomfortable, and being the first to do it on a stage in front of a room full of strangers. But in a way, he was predicting the future of entertainment. These days you can’t get away from talk of sex and violence and race and inequality and all the things that made the good people of America clutching their pearls back in the fifties and sixties. I couldn’t even say the word pregnant on stage at a club, and now Jerry Springer is shouting “YOU ARE NOT THE FATHER” every weekday afternoon on television”

She grins as people laugh.

“And without Lenny, we wouldn’t have any of it. Someone had to kick open the door. That was Lenny.” Midge gazes up at him, beaming proudly. “My life would be far, far worse without you, even if a good chunk of it has been spent in courtrooms and bailing you out of jail. And the world wouldn’t be the same without you. So without further ado, the whole sordid tale.”

The voiceover - Midge’s that she’d prerecorded for the show - sounds as the audience applauds, and images are played along with it, detailing Lenny’s childhood, early years and war service, into comedy, and writing. His arrests, convictions and appeals. The Broadway play he’d won a Tony for, the documentaries he’s produced.

After the short summing up of his life, comes the tribute. An array of comics come out, dressed in their best mock-ups of Lenny’s signature black suit and tie. Steve Martin sings All Alone. Whoopi Goldberg does the differences between Jewish and Goyish. Robin Williams comes out and does the Christ and Moses bit.

When Eddie Murphy comes out with the drumset, Midge rushes onto the stage (as planned). “Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, we can’t do this bit, it’s being televised!”

“What?!”

“It’s still too dirty for television,” Midge explains. “We can’t do it. The president of the United States is sitting right up there, he’ll have a stroke and die.”

Eddie still looks bewildered. He’s great. “Why the hell,” he says loudly. “Did Lenny Bruce get picked for the Kennedy Center honors under a Republican President?!”

“I think they’re worried he’ll die soon,” Midge says factually.

Eddie still looks confused. “Lenny or the President?”

In the box, Lenny is laughing with his face in his hands.

“Take your pick.”

The audience laughs.

“I’m really sorry,” Midge says apologetically. “We just cannot air To is a Preposition, Come is a Verb.”

Eddie grumbles to himself, throwing down the drumsticks. “I practiced and everything damn standards and practices this is bullshit, whatever, fine.”

The audience keeps laughing and Midge turns back to the audience as Eddie storms offstage. “Sorry about that, folks. Just a…a little miscommunication.” She looks around, miming nerves, before she takes the microphone. “Let’s see, let’s see, what do I- Oh! So in the fifties, my first husband took me on a date to see Lenny at a strip club and he did this!”

And she starts the airplane glue bit. Once she’s done, and the audience is in stitches. Once she’s done, everyone comes back out on stage to thunderous applause, and they all gesture towards Lenny, as the audience stands to applaud him.

Lenny, for his part, shakes his head, a hand over his mouth as Kitty’s arms wrap around him from behind him.

What’s your favorite Sims death? Never thought very well about the death types but I'll go for Time Anomaly because the ghost actually looks kinda creepy!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? MM clothing, semi-realistic Asian-made skins, ALPHA HAIR ONLY. Furniture is a mix, really, but I can't stand MM hair in TS3 AT ALL.

Do you cheat your sims weight? Not at all - if I want to change their weight, they'll go to the gym! Now, for other physical features (read: getting rid off EAxis cartoonishness) Edit in CAS is my best friend :P

Do you move objects? But of course?????? XD

Favorite Mod? The NRaas suite in general + Lazy Duchess ones, but if I need to choose JUST ONE I'll go with DebugEnabler just for the item spawn function and the shifting up/down walls without Decorator's Best Friend (which I like a lot too)

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? I... found this game in the seven seas so I got them all at the same time...

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? The former - never figured out people considered the "live" from "live mode" as a verb until NOW.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Melody Hills, the cute Black girl with natural hair I often put on my previews (she's the youthful one often with protective hairstyles). Minato Hawthorne (half-Japanese guy with glasses and blue eyes that often goes for my more... twinky stuff) and Lise Béranger (the one with the really pretty long curly hair) are close runner-ups.

Have you made a simself? Yeah, but I ended up not liking it (not a case of self-consciousness) and deleted her x_x

Which is your favorite EA hair color? Eeeeh the dark brown is useable I guess...

Favorite life stage? I readily admit that I'm part of the Millennial Party Simulator school of playing and 90% of my Sims are Young Adults.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I don't BUILD per se, all my lots are downloaded, some build tools are still a bit intimidating, but I rotate between (re-)decorating and playing.

Are you a CC creator? A converter, actually XD Quite balanced between objects and CAS.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I'm closer-ish with the Brazilian TS3 Simblr guys and EAxis 4t3 converters but to call it a squad is a tad too much! But I'm on friendly terms with the folks from the Creator's Cave server, yes.

Do you have any sims merch? / A Youtube for sims? Nope and I don't intend to.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? I actually find very difficult to let go of my powerplaying and shift to a more roleplayer style :P THAT SAID, in my decorating I finally found a balance between bare and overcluttered!

Who’s your favorite CC creator? it's a secret to no one that @joojconverts and I have very similar styles and we often suggest and beta test stuff for each other, and @bellakenobi and I are friendly outside Simblr too, but to say I have a Favorite CC creator wouldn't do justice to my 28GB CC folder 8D

How long have you had Simblr? I actually wanted to make a simblr for TS2 first but it never went forward (at the time I only did some mailbox recolors that I never released), so it's older than I believe, but I started getting active in TS3 around 2017-2018 I believe?

How do you edit your pictures? I cut, resize and add text ONLY. I have no patience for extra editing.

He hadn't seen Hics in the med bay today, and there was no new message from his squad leader, so he made it out of the skirmish fine but Pillar needed to make sure.

He blinked blearily at the doors to the barracks, not quite remembering how he got there.

The doors opened and hands pulled him in, bullying him gently but firmly onto a bunk and into the arms of the vod there.
