“The palm fronds linger at the feet of each column, all at once suspended between verdant freshness and decomposition.”

Another playful message left by an adoring Fallen One. A arrow of thick crimson painted upon the bark of an oak tree, the direction would point to more red arrows leading her to a pond. Within it, are the mangled bodies of many of those whom done her wrong. There mutilated corpses floating above the waters surface. The waters a bright shade of blood red. It was then she noticed the outline of the pond was in the shape of a heart.

Her steps were light as she followed the trail of crimson arrows. Each tree marked she grazed with her fingertips, the crimson turning verdant as lichen grew across it. The lingering coppery scent to the air rose a curiosity to what lay at the end of the macabre trail.
The gesture of the gift she found stirred a myriad of thoughts and emotions. Certainly shocked at the initial intake of bodies torn and rendered by a fierce predator, the bright fresh blood, the carnage a sign of strength and ferocity. Quite a statement to be made. The pond crafted by hand or will with a symbol of adoration.
No trace of the being behind this romantic gesture, or so she could tell. He was beyond the reaches of her awareness when he desired it so. A game, a thrill, a hunt.
A tender smile as she sat beside the pond. Nature stretched out and began to take hold of the bodies, decomposition and new life sprouting from them.
