how seventeen adore their s/o's body
requested by @xuenihao : "I was wondering if you could do a reaction of ot13 being in a relationship with a s.o. who is a bit kn the heavier side (just thighs and And belly? You know) and how they would act to people hating on them and how they comfort them? Or them just adoring their so body?"
notes: i really wanted to come up with one unique idea per member but my brain couldn't think of enough sobs... but i hope these are all still okay !

seungcheol, seungkwan, hansol
always, always has you sitting on his lap. or leaning against him, or your head resting on his thighs. won't let you fret that you're too much of an uncomfortable weight for him, bc that's not even an issue. loves having you sitting with him bc it's warm, it's reassuring, and he loves having you pressed up against him. makes a point of pulling you into his lap if you ever get insecure, telling you very firmly that anyone who makes you hate the way you look is, quite frankly, incredibly stupid and not worth your precious time. bc your time is Definitely precious especially when you can be spending it sitting in his lap while he runs his fingers through your hair
jeonghan, junhui, chan
gives you kisses absolutely everywhere. literally, everywhere he can reach. kisses your fingers, your fingernails, your eyebrows, your ears, everywhere. when you were lying next to him with your shirt slightly exposing your stomach, he'd leaned down and swiftly pressed a kiss there as well. probably learnt the meanings of all the different placements of kisses for fun, and whenever you feel particularly down about yourself then he'll go through all of them with you, kissing different parts of your body and telling you exactly what each kiss means, while also giving him the chance to show how cherished your body is by him
joshua, hoshi, dokyeom
he is. oh my god he is soooo a thighs man. loves your thighs so much. not even in a sexual way, he just thinks they're so lovely and pretty and full and gorgeous. likes it when you wear shorts/skirts so he can trace patterns across your knees and lower thighs, and especially does so if you're feeling bad about the way you look. pretends to get all sad if you cover them up by wearing pants, but still finds it vv fun to squish your thighs with his hands bc wow they're just so Nice. gasps dramatically if you tell him you don't like your thighs bc in your opinion u think that they're too thick bc what???? he thinks your thighs are perfect what are you talking about????
wonwoo, woozi, minghao, mingyu
has compliments for the way you look always, always on the tip of his tongue. looks aren't everything, he knows, but there's just something about you which makes him want to call you all those shallow adjectives bc they just sound so right because you really are gorgeous and beautiful and amazing. literally, you are an utter deity in his eyes like i Cannot stress how much he adores you. has really sincere talks with you if he notices that you feel insecure about yourself, and the compliments just flow out of him smooth and easy as water until you're smiling and blushing and hugging him and feeling better again

What classes do you think the mighty nein would play, were they to play dnd? Bonus round would they be good at dnd.
I had a post about this like back in 2020 or something that I cannot find, so I don't know if my opinions have changed since then. I don't have anyone down as DMing because I assume that even their forever DM has a preferred class.
Fjord - Cleric I don't think Fjord would like tanking that much because getting attacked makes him nervous, but he doesn't want to be a glass cannon either. I think that he would initially go for cleric because he simply wants to be useful and helpful, but he didn't necessarily realize how big of a job being the cleric is. He starts out as a just Cure Wounds dispenser, but quickly flourishes into a Holy Terror Wrath Of The Righteous Divine cleric. He loves doing that. His mechanics are solid and efficient and he's tactically astute, but he's a timid roleplayer who struggles to initiate scenes. He's solid if drawn into scenes and forgets to be self-conscious because he's got a better character sense than he thinks. Literally do not ask him what the overall plot of the campaign is because he cannot remember no matter how hard he tries; he remembers individual PC arcs though. I think he'd also like paladins, bards, and druids, and I do think he'd be willing to play some of the more involved fighters like the Knights subclasses and the cooler rangers.
Beau - Wizard She wants to be the person in the game who gets all the information, and that's usually a wizard. She wants to put her little hands all over all the lore, and also she loves having a spell list that's a billion miles long. She does not want you to know that she feels so smugly satisfied playing a character who can do the research and have the connections and know the information. She absolutely hates that this means she's made of tissue paper, so she tends toward Con wizard. Her mechanics and exploration work are really good, and she is stellar at engaging in the world in a way that's highly informed by her character class. She struggles with the roleplaying part of things a lot. She has a decent grasp of character, it's the actual RPing part that she has trouble with. If you can convince her to play a charisma caster, which she is afraid of doing, she'd also enjoy bard a lot. Also monks and artificers.
Caleb - Wizard This is self-explanatory. Caleb is a guy who plays a wizard or the full damage caster in every single game. This is who he is. He is great mechanically until you gotta discuss non-spell stuff. He did, in fact, read that portion of the rules, but it was never relevant to him, so he deleted it from his head. His spell choices and use are phenomenal though. He min-maxes but specifically for the weirdest, most niche element that is useful one time, but it is extremely clutch that one time it's relevant. He is also great at the storytelling portion, though his roleplaying can be a little dense or dry. If you can make him play something that's not a wizard, druid or bard. He will not play a healer druid or bard though.
Veth - Warlock She wants to make bad decisions in her games, and she loves that a warlock comes prepackaged with bad decisions. She has a solid grasp of her spellcasting mechanics, but also finds full casting intimidating. She loves the concept of being a wizard in theory but actually playing one stresses her out. She is a very loud and excitable player, which can be a lot of fun if, uh, loud. She fucking supports you and is into whatever it is you're doing, especially if it's so dumb to do. She is inventing the weirdest and most ambiguously intense patron relationship of all time. She also would enjoy paladins, rangers, artificers, and the fancier fighters (again, the Knights subclasses). She could be eased into cleric if a niche in the party is clear and her mechanical role is structured. She can totally handle full casting, including wizards, she just psyches / stresses herself out.
Jester - Bard I feel like people are going to be like "what about barbarian," but I think that Jester tried it once and the comparative lack of options made her really frustrated. She loves the idea of hitting things, but she hates it when 80% of her options is just hitting it. She is attracted to the charisma casters though, because she really likes the charisma skillset, and she really wants to cast a lot of spells. Out of the charisma caster options, she likes bards best because she loves being a little good at everything. She tends to be a little over-competitive about it and gets sulky when she doesn't feel useful enough. She is actually iffy on mechanical nitty-gritty, but her basics and groundwork is solid so it's fine, but she's a really great if melodramatic roleplayer and her social encounter work is great. She is deeply engaged in the narrative and is intensely invested in every NPC. Buys so fucking hard into the suspension of disbelief. She would like the fancier fighters and paladins better than a barbarian.
Molly - Bard He is playing the stereotype bard of everyone's nightmares. I will not further elaborate.
Caduceus - Ranger He does like to ask the plants and animals question in-game as well, and rangers let him do that and have a bit of magic too without being overwhelming as a class. He isn't super interested in doing complex characters; this is not being bad at D&D, to be clear, it's just a preference. He's your friend who is here to play a simple character because he just wants to hang out with you, which I think is always very sweet. That said, he is not very good mechanically. It's a lot of stuff to keep track of even with 5e being a little simpler. I think he would also like playing paladins or the straightforward fighters, or a cleric if he can decide what his niche is and stick to that specifically. He doesn't vibe with barbarians.
Yasha - Druid She is initially drawn to the class for the vibes (always a valid reason to be drawn to a class), but I think she enjoys having spellcasting options and options that aren't "hit it". She is a timid and awkward roleplayer who has a lot of trouble there, even though she has a lot of fun making up backstory and engaging with the lore and story. Her spellcasting is creative and experimental because she loves weird. She is one of the button pushers of the table and is giggling when she does it. (She and Veth are menaces, lmao, it's great.) I think she'd also enjoy bards, maybe clerics and warlocks, and the fancier fighters and rangers.

My ask is maybe a bit silly, and would probably go in 'sanity check' category. It is about Max, and how he is perceived. If I understand correctly, it is said he is mad max, bad guy, aggressive… and similar. Now, I know teenagers are sometimes a bit crazy, and from what I read he was actually very badly treated by freaking adults, fellow drivers, when he first joined F1, so maybe then he was a bit aggressive, and it would be even understandable… but still it is difficult to even imagine that. Because Max I see (I am only following racing since last year) is nice, soft, funny, polite guy, still more looking like an innocent kid than an adult, even appearing naïve (unlike the sweet, adorable devil that is Charles!), and obviously so nice towards rookies (Oliver and Liam-who himself said it). So am I delusional and see what is not there or for some reason he is so vilified (I guess most coming probably from jealousy and Netflix crap…). Oh and one additional observation, he always looks so much softer and somehow cuddlier and cuter on photos from his streaming at home… What do you think? One final observation, then I will shut up  Sometimes it seems to me that all the Lestappen moments and specila connection maybe come from the fact that when Charles came to F1 Max finally had kinda his person there. Because he went form father abuse to fellow drivers abuse, but when Charles came to F1, he had someone he could have a real relationship with, even if they fought and were a bit sulky almost teenagers still in the beginning, they got over it as they grow up. But Charles is his genuinely healthy, good, fun, friendly relationship. Having spent time as kids growing up of course also deepens the bond and friendship, but also mutual respect and understanding each other’s qualities. I don’t know if explained it well enough… P.S. I LOVE your fics!!!!
Hi anon, and thank you so much for this ask! I don't think it's a silly ask at all.
All these "Mad Max", being too aggressive, being mean claims etc. stem from two things:
1. When Max made it into F1 almost 10(!) years ago, he was 17(!!) years old. He was a kid — a literal child. And he was a cocky, arrogant little shit at that, as any kid would be making their debut in such a prestigious sport at such a young age.
2. Max haters who will hate him forever, no matter what, no matter why. They don't even need a reason; they're just determined to hate him and will do so forever.
But the thing is, and his haters especially seem to love to ignore this fact, Max was seventeen years old when he made his F1 debut. He was, for all intents and purposes, a child. I watched Max make his F1 debut, and I watched and read the way he was viewed and the reception he received from his fellow drivers, the media, and fans alike. And I watched these grown-ass men already on the grid when Max joined welcome him by treating him like shit. These adults were so threatened by this kid who came into the sport without having to go through the same ranks almost every other F1 driver has to go through to get there, such as several years in F3 and F2 (Max only spent a year in F3 and skipped F2 altogether), that they did virtually nothing to make him feel welcome. Quite the opposite, in fact. It was so fucking sad and infuriating, and I lost a lot of respect for many drivers because of it. And if I'm being honest, anon, that's what made me decide Max would be my favorite driver. I can be incredibly spiteful when I want to be, and watching Max get slammed and slandered from so many directions from the very beginning made me want to be very spiteful. That's what made me decide that I was going to support that kid like hell. And I haven’t looked back or regretted it since.
I cannot stress this enough, and I know I've said it so many times before already, but: Max Verstappen was a child when he made it into the world of F1. But he's not a child anymore, which a concerning amount of people seem to be blissfully and willfully ignorant to. Max has grown and matured so much in the years he's been in F1. And, like most other people, Max Verstappen the adult is not the same person as Max Verstappen the teenager, or Max Verstappen the child. And he hasn’t been anything like his 17-year old self in a long, long time. But this, of course, is something his haters will never accept or acknowledge.
I truly believe, from the very bottom of my heart, that Max is always so nice and welcoming towards rookies, always willing to lend a hand or giving them advice, always going out of his way to praise and support them, because practically no one ever did that for him when he was a rookie. And that speaks volumes about his character and the kind of man he has grown into since making his debut.
You're not delusional at all, anon, and having only followed F1 since last year means it's not surprising that you don't see the very outdated and frankly incredibly incorrect persona the people who dislike Max will always keep trying to convince themselves and others is still him. Because it isn’t — not even close. Practically every single person who has worked with or been around Max in the past few years all say the same thing: that he's funny, easy-going, and one of the genuinely kindest people on the grid. And that means a hell of a lot more than the opinions of people who have never and will never know him, and have made it their personal, sad mission to hate him. So you keep holding on to the impression you have of him, anon, because that is a far more accurate representation than the image some people are so hellbent of painting of him. (He’s definitely not naïve, though, not even close.)
And I absolutely agree: he looks even softer and cuddlier when he's streaming at home! I love streamer!Max so much.
"When Charles came to F1 Max finally had kinda his person there". <- You are spot on with this, anon! I've talked about the special bond I think these two share in the past, like in this post, and so have many others. (@tsarinablogs @valyrfia @thearchercore to name a few - highly recommend checking out their blogs if you haven’t already!) It truly seems like they have never, and will never, see any other driver as a big a rival as the other, and the numerous accounts of their karting days from people who got to watch them battle first-hand from such a young age definitely backs up that claim. And I think that's so beautiful, and it's one of the many, many reasons why these two are so dear to me, and why other F1 ships will never be able to come close.
P.S. That makes me so happy to hear, anon, thank you so, so much. 🥹❤️

A while back I learned something important from my therapist, and since I was trying to recount it anyway to share with a friend, I thought I would bring it to y'all as well.
We have all had at least one of those days where we've stayed up way too late doing something fun but we just don't want to stop doing it. Logically I figured that's just because "well yeah I don't want to stop, I have to go to sleep then to work and those suck compared to it."
Except then that starts happening often and you feel bad about always staying up every night, but then you feel worse and get more stressed because you know you're doing something you're "not supposed to", but because you're more stressed you want more fun time... endless cycle.
But as I was talking about it all and told her I thought I was self-sacrificing, the therapist had a very useful question for me:
"How do you normally know it's time to stop having fun? Like you know it's time to finish work because your shift's over, you know it's time to stop doing the dishes when they're all done or the washer's full, what is your signal to stop having fun?"
And I had to search for a while to answer.
"When the activity is done" - okay sure, but many games and books and series, or doing your own creative thing, "done" may take days upon days or even be non-existent.
"When I had to pass the controller" - obvious and easy one! If you knew you had a finite turn then the defined end is readily there, and you're also prepared for it! But requires pre-arranging the limits.
"When I got in trouble for it" - ding ding ding, we found the big problem.
When you grow up with "fun" being a forbidden activity you're only allowed to do after everything else is done to 100% perfection, then you learn to sneak it in where you can fit it. And you need that shit, seriously - you cannot get through life without some source of enjoyment, some tiny glimmer of joy among the tedium.
Many of us learned to read under the covers, or to play our gameboy in the bathroom and hide it under the sink, or that we could get away with running around the backyard for another 20 minutes if we just learned which intonation of "come inside" was the actual trouble line, or whatever other ways to cram in as much joy as we could before the hammer came down, for whatever severity that meant in your house.
And so that feeling of "I shouldn't be doing this, I'm going to get caught, but if I'm going to get in trouble anyway I might as well get as much out of this as I can" becomes part of what you expect to feel when you're having fun. And you only know how to stop having fun when you feel that way when you get in trouble for it - and in absence of anyone else controlling your behavior, that means the bad guy becomes either whatever task pops up to remind you responsibilities exist, or your significant other pointing out it's really late and they wish you'd come to bed, or your boss yelling at you for being tired all the time... or it becomes you.
If you don't learn that fun isn't a forbidden activity, if you stay stuck in the mindset that it's something you have to cram in in secret and hide that you're even doing? It becomes so so easy to hate the voice of reason in your head that's trying to encourage moderation and we're going to regret this tomorrow.
And that escalates. You keep being too tired the next day. You keep feeling even worse when you sit down to enjoy yourself the next night because now you're already tired, so stress gets to you faster, and now you feel guilty about how late you're staying up so you're not really enjoying playing your game or scrolling Tumblr or whatever anymore, you're just nervously glancing at the clock, "have I spent too long yet? How much longer can I do this before I get in trouble?"
Even though now you're in your 20s or 30s and it's been a decade since the last time anyone else told you it was bed time.
Learning that you're allowed to have fun isn't easy; guilt and shame are emotions that run very, very deep. And neither is learning to have a healthier relationship with saying "okay, that's enough for today".
For one, you have to stop threatening yourself. "Tomorrow is gonna suck" and "You're going to regret this" and "we're going to get in trouble at work" don't work. You already feel bad, you already know it's gonna suck, so why wouldn't you try to cram in one more hour now while it's not the day that's going to suck yet? Punishment is not incentive.
Because by now you're in a situation where sleep is a horrifying punishment that ends any fun, but you're not enjoying your fun anyway because you're tired all the time on top of feeling ashamed for doing something fun, and you're spending the entire time beating yourself up for being an idiot with no self control who can't even handle going to bed on time like a normal human being...
etc etc etc.
You will hear a lot of people give advice on how to get rid of the idea of having to "earn" sleep or fun or happiness by doing "enough" other things. To learn to accept that just being alive is enough reason to "deserve" to do those things. That will work for some people, but for others it just ends up one more thing to scold yourself about, especially when you're already in the habit not of denying yourself entirely but instead of doing it and feeling guilty the whole time.
But learning to set limits ahead of time, so that you're not anticipating some unknown time that a nebulous authority figure is going to finally have their horror monster timer run out and leap out at you but instead know when and what to expect? Holy shit it helped.
Don't get me wrong, it hella felt like depriving myself at first, like I was being grounded, and I looked at my phone beeping saying it was bedtime quite often and got annoyed.
But then I stopped treating fun as something that had to wait until the end of the day and everything else had to be done first. It is way easier to stare down sleep and go "I don't need you", especially if you have any kind of insomnia making the idea of being in bed a dreadful one on top of it. It is harder to say that about dinner, or calling a friend, or walking the dog. Plus then the day isn't over yet, so giving up on your fun isn't also accepting that as the defining moment of the end of your day!
So you have to start practicing looking for places to squeeze in a little more fun - "I've got an hour before dinner, that's perfect to make some tea and watch two episodes." "My favorite youtuber just put up a new video, why don't I take a break to watch it before I finish this homework?" "I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow anyway, and if I leave an hour early I could go kick around the bookstore first."
And once you do, fun starts to feel less shameful.
Don't get me wrong, if your issues run deep enough it still does sometimes. But when you get to have these moments of joy that you don't feel the need to hide or apologize for and where punishment isn't part of the routine, then fun stops feeling like something you have to dig your claws into for fear of having it taken away from you once someone catches you with it. And that means that finishing a level and glancing over at the clock is something you do because it actually managed to click a satisfaction switch in your head and you wondered if it was a good note to end on for now, instead of something you do with your breath held and the berating words already cycling in your mind.
I am not offering this advice expecting it to work for everyone or be easy or anything like that. I am someone with Depression, ADHD, and pretty severe PTSD sharing a technique that one therapist told me that really happened to click for and help me specifically, in case it might help someone else be a little nicer to themselves today, too.

Hola :D I just wanted to thank you for being so positive lately and looking at things regarding the qstudio situation with nuance. It feels like people have been so stressed and angry after all of the admin stuff came that they began to take every bit of news we hear as some sign that bad things are to come . I think a lot of people underestimated just how long this process can take, there a lot of factors to be considered here, including: q's lack of experience, the union, the laws, the admins. And unfortunately there is no way to satisfy everyone when it comes to stuff like this. This was never going to take a week or two, I feel like people didn't fully understand that.
Some admins are going to be pushed out of the project due to the lack of funds and the fact that this is a legal issue first and for most. It's unfair but it's the law. Not everyone understands that and because of that people are going to say things without understanding the situation. Not every thing is black and white and sometimes things aren't going to work out the way we want them to. Nobody is perfect and we shouldn't expect people involved in this situation to act like that. Which is why you should always look at the situation from multiple perspectives before forming an opinion.
It makes me feel tired to see the same takes over and over agian with no nuance. So your post have really helped me feel better :) I've seen people from both qsmpblr and qsmptwt act like every ccs involved in this is a war criminal or like this is a admins vs quackity or french/brazil vs quackity. It's kinda drove me off most social sites and forced me to only watch YouTube and stuff (on the good side of things, I've been watching quackity's discord videos and some dsmp vods :D it's been fun)
What I am trying to say is that, scrolling through your blog feels like a breath of fresh air and has made me feel 8× more calm about this situation. I don't think doomposting is necessarily bad but after seeing so much of it, sometimes you just need to distance yourself and look at the good parts of life. No matter how much I complain, I am never changing the course that qstudio is headed and neither can any one else, The only one who can do that is quackity. I hope that he does the right thing and the studio gets better. I love the characters that qsmp has brought us and the community it has formed, qsmp is a beautiful project that I want to see thrive. For now the only thing I can do as a viewer is hope for the best <3
I'm sorry if this came off as a trauma dump, I just really wanted to thank you.
So, this has been in my askbox for a while because I was so grateful and happy to hear I've helped someone!! Thank you sm anon that means a lot to me and knowing I'm keeping others optimistic, helps me feel optimistic too! :D
This is a very complex situation with so many moral grey areas mixed with black and white. It's not simple, it's not easy. These things cannot be fixed in a matter of weeks, you're absolutely right about that.
I also agree doomposting isn't necessarily bad! It's a good way to get off some steam and vent/ rant for a bit. There's nothing wrong with that. We all need it at times. For me, personally, it becomes toxic when that's ALL I'm seeing in social media. When I go on my phone and all I see is negativity, that's when I need to call it quits and start blocking people or start taking time away (which is why I deleted twt off my phone) everyone's tolerance levels are different ofc, so, not everyone is affected by that negativity, but I certainly was. This is why I want my blog to be positive and uplifting and you know what? Each and every time I get a ask or a message thanking me for that, I gain faith in humanity and it just encourages me to keep being positive! I'm so thankful for your ask and dw it wasn't trauma dumping at all!! :D I hope you're doing well anon! Take care of yourself. You matter

Re: the ask about reading -- do you have any high fantasy recs?
I think the definition of "high fantasy" is pretty loose, but I generally take it to mean heroic fantasy that's really heavy on world-building, like Lord of the Rings.
I honestly cannot say that I have recs. I liked this stuff not because it was good but because it satisfied my id; the recent thing I found was the same way. Here follows some explanations, but if you're looking for recs, I don't have them.
I grew up on this kind of fantasy and read a lot of it. I read a ton of Terry Brooks, but now I'm kind of embarrassed about it. I also read the first book in Wheel of Time, but could not get into it. It's very slow, and I like some very dense, slow things, but I am a very slow reader, so there has to be some reward for a very slow pace, which there definitely is in something like LOTR, but imo was not there in WoT. But then I got into Sword of Truth, and read like three before I had to quit because the misogyny and the writing were just so, so bad. Like, it still hits lots of my kinks! But I could not stomach it.
So then I found this guy called George RR Martin--this was long before the GoT tv show; I only knew one person who had ever heard of him--my aunt, who btw recced me Wheel of Time and Sword of Truth, and was the only person in the world I knew who read this type of stuff. (Incidentally she was the only person I'd ever met who had read LOTR when I was a kid. I did not grow up in a population that did much reading for fun. My family read a lot! But not like me.) I was quite into the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire but in the end the misogyny and bad writing were even worse than Sword of Truth. (I remember one time years later when I met another living soul who had heard of these books and it was such a disaster talking to him. He was like, "Misogyny? What do you mean, misogyny??? That world is just like that!") Anyway, GRRT was why I quit high fantasy like that. I just got very tired of these worlds that hit so many kinks of mine that also made my skin crawl and made me feel kind of dirty for reading them. (I'm not knocking on anyone who likes these series! I don't think it's misogynist to read them or enjoy them! I just got tired of them!)
Anyway so you're asking because I mentioned recently in another ask that I had recently got back into reading high fantasy because I found a series that interested me. I'm so sorry to have misled, because the series interested me but I cannot, and I can't stress this enough, I cannot rec it. It is not good. It is misogynist. It is poorly written. It is all of the things that I did not like about Sword of Truth and GoT! And Terry Brooks and whatever other series like those I read! But it has this very scientific approach to the world-building that seems very keen on explaining exactly how the magic works in a way that I'm very attracted to, and it was really different and refreshing compared to a lot of stuff that seems very hellbent on this medieval Europe dragons and sorcery vibe.
Anyway the series is The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. I know! I know! I'm literally telling you this with my hands over my face; I'm so embarrassed. But look. Look, let me tell you, the best, the absolute best thing about reading a book by an unpleasantly conservative Mormon (who by the way, worships Orson Scott Card; now you know why I'm embarrassed) is that all of the writing comes across as deeply repressed. No one is allowed to have sex in these books, not even heterosexually. There are no ships in the first book. In the second book one ship emerges and another begins to emerge, but the one that gets realized does not have any sex scenes and also the man is deeply conflicted about having sex with the woman at all.
The result is that everyone reads as really flaming gay. Now, you might ask why I don't just go read LGBT books by LGBT authors, and let me tell you--I do! And they're good. But I think the world-building is interesting in the Stormlight Archive, and additionally--I like things where everyone is repressed and no one gets to have sex. And sometimes that happens because of censorship; witness my adoration of The Untamed. I don't condone the censorship. It sucks! But frankly, it can be hard sometimes to get media that doesn't have a lot of sex and romance but still hits certain narrative kinks, and honestly this is probably a big reason I like so many kids' shows too, because romance is often not the focus.
And I know there are now a lot more stories that feature asexuality or aromanticism! Which is great! But it's not what I'm looking for either. I'm not not looking for things that are explicitly ace or aro. I'm looking for things in which sexuality doesn't even seem to exist in that world, where everyone seems super oblivious to the idea of sex, where everyone is constantly gagging for it and does not seem to realize they could get what they wanted by just making use of their genitals. Why am I attracted to this? I do not know.
I can tell you're still looking askance at me, since I obviously like romance. I love it! But for some reason, I either don't like how lots of media does it, or I'm just tired of it, or I just want to do it my own way, so canons with intense relationships and no sex are often something I can really get into. (I still love romances as well! Variety is the spice of life!!!) Anyway, that's what I liked about The Stormlight Archives, but I definitely cannot rec them. Also while it's seems like it's trying not to be racist, it's also racist, in that fantasy racist way that claims it's not about skin color but is a metaphor for skin color and might actually be about skin color, really, when you think about it. And it's very gender essentialist. Honestly I could write a very long post about the ways in which these books offend me. But I still enjoyed reading them.

Hi! Some thoughts on yan!Hanma with pregnant darling please?
Tumblr media
pairing : hanma x afab!reader (no pronouns used)
summary : hanma with a pregnant darling
⤷ cw : NSFW 18+, general yandere themes, implied nsfw, pregnancy, baby-trapping, slight nsfw, mentions of abortion, possibly ooc hanma
Tumblr media
i don't think that hanma is the type of yandere to actively try and get his darling pregnant, but then again, he doesn't do anything to stop you from getting pregnant either. he loves to fuck you raw, the feeling of your tight walls around his bare cock is just too addicting and too pleasurable to put a condom on. sometimes he pulls out and sometimes he doesn't--it really just depends on his mood.
when you tell him you're pregnant he's more amused than anything. he teases the hell out of you in the most vulgar way possible by saying things like 'i fucked you so good i put a little baby in you' or 'you desperate little slut, wanted my cum so badly you ended up pregnant'. he can be a bit mean about it too. when you're crying in his arms because you don't know what to do and you're scared, he might laugh and say one of those teasing things.
but despite that, i think he'll get softer when you're pregnant. he's an asshole, but you're still his darling and you're carrying his baby. he gets you the necessities--pain pills, your weird cravings, and he lets you cuddle up to him so that you can get all the comfort you need whenever you get all emotional.
he gets extra protective while you're pregnant cause he doesn't want anything bad happening to you or the baby. oh, you wanna go out? let him come. actually baby, why don't just stay your pretty self-right where you are. hanma will just go get whatever you need for you. he doesn't let anyone he doesn't trust around you, and the people he does trust around you are threatened to hell to be careful or else he won't hesitate to beat them the fuck up.
he low-key has a heart attack any time you get tummy pains or run to the bathroom to throw up. he's not used to you being in such a terrible state so it kind of throws him off. he's so quick to check up on you and make sure you aren't dying any time something like that happens. it makes you laugh whenever you see that look of absolute worry on his face after you get done throwing up or downing pain meds.
he would love having you in his lap where he can easily rub your pregnant belly and just kiss all up on you. you get so pliant when you're pregnant cause you're just so tired and don't wanna deal with anything--it almost makes him wanna keep you pregnant all the time. but, hanma is all about fun an amusement, and kids don't allow for that, so he doesn't really go through with that thought despite how pleasant it would be.
he isn't opposed to fucking you while you're pregnant. of course, he'll be careful not to hurt you or the baby, but you just look so pretty that he needs to be inside you. he would probably make the excuse that he has to keep his baby's mommy nice and pleasured while you're pregnant cause he knows you need the stress relief, which you cannot refute so you let him fuck you. he's usually rough during sex, but while you're pregnant he'll get all doting and kiss you gently as he thrusts into you slowly. he might get desperate and speed up a bit, maybe get a bit rougher than he intended too, but he always makes sure you aren't hurt and neither is the baby.
he'll make you keep the baby cause he wants you to stay with him and he knows damn well you wouldn't be able to do it on your own even if you wanted to--not after he made everyone in your life abandon you. don't even bring up the idea of getting an abortion cause it'll really piss him off. he might not have wanted the baby, but it's still his the very same that you are his. you are his property, and you aren't allowed to do anything without his permission. how dare you tell him you're getting an abortion when he owns you, your body, and definitely the baby in your cute belly.

sometimes when you're brainrotting two things, the only way to cope is to smush those things together. therefore: how i think bells hells would do at Blood On The Clocktower! (or social deduction games in general.) some of this is mechanical some of it is textual some of it is Just Vibes
Orym: Not the best at lying, but very good at figuring out when someone else is. Tends to hold of on claiming for a while unless he's like a top 4. Probably follows Fearne and/or Ashton around too much, regardless of their characters/alignments. If he's ever evil with one of them he gets very excited to the point that it's almost a tell. Orym is the guy who knows exactly who everyone has been talking to, he is watching EVERYONE in his peripheral vision.
Imogen: Deception queen, nobody clocks when she's lying, but she's not the best at coming up with strategic bluffs. Initially found playing evil Very Stressful, but i think she'd come around to it. DEFINITELY talks with Laudna first every single game.
Chetney: on the fucking case. this man is a genius at this game; if he's evil, nobody can tell bc he always acts this weird, it's no different, and if he's good, he solves the game when evil least expects it. not good at lying but gets by via the power of Lying Always For Shits And Giggles (And Also Tactics)
Ashton: mister -2 to charisma cannot lie for shit. they love the game anyways, but if he's the imp he's star passing pretty much immediately (orym is going to catch him if he doesn't lmao). enjoys interrogating ppl and trying to figure out their characters. probably downplays their own usefulness to the good team but often provides big pieces of the puzzle.
Laudna: absolutely loving it. the storyteller perchance? (altho i could see orym or ash getting in on it too? I May Be Projecting.) i think laudna gets very excited to be on the evil team (maybe too obviously excited), but overall is just having a good time, solving the mystery or being the demon. yeah the more i think about it the more i think she'd really like storytelling. i mean i wore my laudna dress the first time i hosted a clocktower party the vibes are right
FCG: probably one of those people who feels bad about lying in lying games lmao. i think they'd get really into it eventually though. i don't think he'd be good at bluffing while evil, but i think he'd have a really fun time as good and get really into solving it and figuring out wtf is going on.
Fearne: Pure Chaos. you can never tell if she's evil because she is always unpredictable. will commit to the bit always. will offer you the mez word as a good player. has turned several people evil bc they thought she was joking about the mez word and she was Not. she's def not BAD at the game, she's observant and she's good at bluffing, but she is An Experience, and i say that with the most love. very fun to play with i think.
Dorian: probably a little overwhelmed by the complexity (of clocktower specifically). he is, in the words of fearne, "a very bad liar". enjoys it nonetheless, but he is not the clocktower champ by any means (again, said with so much love). still, he's a good sport about it and he's having a good time, and that's what matters! i could def see him storytelling as well. (BONUS, if he brings dariax: he follows dorian around and asks him questions about how the game works constantly. catches ppl off guard w good bluffs sometimes but only when he lucks into good strats or a teammate tells him what to bluff as.)

i think the thing that irritates me about izzy ofmd hate is that you don't have to like izzy? you don't. he's an unpleasant little man who does bad things and as an antagonist is very easy (and fun) to hate. you can gleefully cheer for him to be tossed overboard s2 that is okay!
i am bothered though by the push for other people to not engage with his character. like i made one joke post about izzy's perspective that was still making fun of him, and someone sent me hate messages saying i was racist and supported homophobia and that i should get my teeth kicked in (which is VERY funny considering i'm gay and black and this was sent by a white fan)
less extreme than that though is people consistently talking about how he's not that deep, that interpreting him as queer is homophobic, and that fans trying to analyze him are trying to redeem a flat white villain instead of engaging with other characters. which... you can engage with multiple characters to be clear. you can. there isn't a limit to how many dick jokes one can make about a cast at any given point in time. also analyzing izzy means analyzing ed like you need to understand izzy if you want to understand ed.
but also it's just not true to call him flat? if you say "izzy's in love with ed and acting out because of jealousy" then people say you're reading too far into it. but this is something that is supported in the text of the show and by the creator. i don't understand how "ed and izzy is its own love story and izzy is a spurned wife and izzy is in love with ed but their relationship is very toxic" could be any more clear. wanting to read more into him isn't grasping at fake straws either, he was written that way to be complicated where david jenkins has said that izzy's the character to pay attention to on a rewatch because there's more to him at first glance.
Tumblr media
like this is literally canon. i cannot stress enough that izzy being in love with ed and izzy being a complex character worth analyzing is just canon and the creator specifically pointed to him as a character to focus more on
he's LITERALLY in love with ed this isn't reaching this isn't "it's not that deep" and he's not generically evil without anything else to him. this is a textual, canon reading of their relationship explicitly stated by the creator several times
Tumblr media
and i guess i'm just? confused then on how we keep going back to a pushback against analyzing the actual show and character. it doesnt absolve izzy of his actions, but it does make him more interesting. if you think about it, izzy's character doesn't make a lot of sense if you read him as having his motivations based solely in a homophobic desire to keep blackbeard masc especially when you don't actually see much pushback from him in show of ed being too feminine or whatever. he kicks him when he's down in episode 10, but i stfg it's so much more interesting if you just pay attention to what actually spurns that on because the "you're blackbeard not ed" as a running theme thru the show is SO interesting when you realize that izzy primarily calls him ed and edward, but he hates it when others do it. like ugh sir you are so toxic and possessive lmaooo
you don't need to like him, but what's the point in trying to force others into flattening his character? where again, you can dislike him. you can even dislike him loudly and on your own blog. but it's weird for people to go out of their way and get mad at other people for engaging with the content or stating facts about the character that are literally canon.

Okay here's my new plot for Layton Mystery Journey Millionaires Conspiracy Or Whatever.
It's the same general structure, with a bunch of cases leading to one finale, and a bunch of cases about the individual millionaires. Sure. Okay. It's not the greatest but that's what the game is and I get that. But make the millionaires Actually Bad People. Like at minimum. Have them actually be the type to steal someone's fortune. Have each case slowly revealing that there's something wrong with these people. Maybe not all of them, maybe have Pipper be grappling with the guilt of the things she's done, and Liza is grappling with the guilt that her parents hurt people to give her an inheritance before they died of parent-itis. I dunno. Some of them can be fine. But overall they're not wonderful paragons of justice and wow how wonderful that these people are rich AND kind.
And Katrielle is solving these cases, and hopefully they'd revamp the cases themselves because they all suck SO HARD but that's beside the point I'm just talking overall here. Katrielle is helping these millionaires, and she can tell they're not great, but she's still finding truths, it's not like the millionaires are the culprits in these crimes they're just kinda shitty people, and also they're rich and powerful and this may finally be her big break, this is everything she's ever wanted, a way to make a name for herself and finally be a real detective.
And Ernest is still his sweet little self but he's also Katrielle's moral compass and the one to be distressed by how shitty these millionaires are, but at the end of the day Katrielle is still solving cases and helping people who actually need it (not the millionaires I cannot stress this enough). And Ernest is still very taken with Katrielle and trusts her implicitly but he's also afraid to confide in her because she wants to use these people to get to the top.
And then you replace Hastings with Emiliana. Hastings can still be the reason she starts getting jobs, but Emiliana is the one Kat's constantly dealing with in every case. Also, dial up Katrielle's eccentricities so that Emiliana's reactions to her make SENSE. Because as it is now, Katrielle is NOT weird enough. She's not zany enough. She's just investigating like a normal person while being a bit silly. Make her weirder!! Make her investigations wacky!! And then have Emiliana and Katrielle build up more of a rapport, more of a real rivalry, make Emiliana trusting Katrielle mean something at the end.
And then at the end, Ernest feels trapped because he's so afraid that Katrielle wouldn't actually help him but he knows these people stole from him and essentially killed his mother so he concocts this plan, but in the end Katrielle stops him from doing anything truly heinous and Emiliana uses her connections to prove that Ernest is the rightful owner of the fortune (get rid of the diamond mine thing please get rid of the diamond mine thing) and some of the millionaires are upset but Pipper and Liza are like No I think this is the right choice let's repent for the bad things we've done.
And also? Get rid of the dog. We don't need the dog. I can't believe I'm saying this, but get rid of the dog. His plot goes nowhere and his personality is flat. If you really want a trio with a straightman, just use Emiliana. It's fun when she does it.

extremely belated montreal worlds impressions, part 1
i've been meaning to write this for weeks now, but never found the time for it. finally putting some thoughts down in words before i forget everything.
this post covers the pairs and women's events. part 2 will be ice dance and men (if i ever get around to writing it...) warning for extremely unfocused writing; i have been so stupidly busy lately.
ETA: here is part 2
-----------------------------------
PAIRS:
pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed pairs at worlds! the short program was remarkably clean, and while the free was messy, there were still a few bright moments. the level of pairs did decrease after the last olympics, but i think many teams have been gradually building up their technical content and skills, and it's good to see teams coming from many small feds. i have to admit that i did not watch many pairs events this season (it's the first discipline i cut when i don't have time to watch everything), but pairs live is much more fun than pairs on screen. i can appreciate their elements much better. in general, my favorite thing about watching live skating is the sense of speed and scale.
miura/kihara: i was nervous as hell for them but they pulled through! i really didn't know what to expect after all of their injury struggles this season. it wouldn't have surprised me if they didn't make the podium, so i'm thrilled for their silver medal. this was my second time seeing them live and it was clear that they weren't at the top of their game - there were a bunch of little mistakes scattered throughout their programs. the free went much better than i hoped. i'm glad they went back to an old program, but i really wish they had started the season with better programs to begin with... (hear me out: have you considered lori nichol for choreo?) but i think at their best, m/k are still the class of the field. their speed and skating skills really, really stand out when you see them live. i cannot stress enough how fast they are; no other team comes close to their speed. their lifts are also very steady (when ryuichi isn't injured, anyway). i was happy that the audience cheered loudly for them even though they were clearly rooting for deanna and max to win. it was a tough season for them but they are such strong skaters, and i really hope the next season goes better. i'm also really glad they were able to get a medal ceremony do-over after the men's ceremony. they looked happy there.
stellato-dudek/deschamps: the crowd was HYPED for them, i couldn't believe how many people came to watch pairs for them, considering it always gets scheduled in the middle of the week! i'm happy for their win, though there was a little bit of home cooking to help out lol. they have great programs this season. it's a bit of the opposite situation with m/k where i really liked sd/d's programs, but their actual skating, not as much. their lack of speed is really obvious compared to m/k. many of their elements feel like a fight instead of effortless. but i was really impressed with how they held up under the pressure of a home worlds. deanna's determination is amazing.
hase/volodin: ok, count me impressed by this new team. they still have a ways to go in connecting with each other, but their elements are really solid and their skating skills aren't bad, either. technically speaking, i'd put them behind m/k but above sd/d in quality. i enjoyed their short program a lot; the free was a bit of a snooze, imo. minerva is a wonderful pairs skater. i'm looking forward to seeing them improve. that one lift entry they do is SO cool.
other notes:
really enjoyed both of hocke/kunkel's programs. they're fun, i'm a fan now.
also enjoyed golubeva/giotopoulos-moore quite a bit
still can't believe cats won euros
peng/wang's throws were too big for this rink. i was very sad at their placement, but cheng is such a wonderful skater and their choreo was excellent, i especially love their free.
-----------------------------------
WOMEN:
a very up and down worlds after a very inconsistent season. so, more or less as expected.
kaori: her fs was a MOMENT. i think the first time i saw kaori live was...2017 skate america? it was her first senior season, and i remember being so impressed by the lightness of her jumps then. the same is true this time, but her growth has been astounding. kaori was not one of my favorite skaters when she was younger; she absolutely is now. while her free skate this season is not my favorite of hers, i love how her range of expression has expanded. her skating is lush, luxurious, she's learned to take her time with the music. and god, her speed. she makes everything look so easy. i'm so happy i got to see this confident, mature kaori win her third world title. the crowd was losing their shit for her, as they should. also love how she was the team mom at the medal ceremony with the two younger medalists. she's such a great role model.
isabeau: i feel like every time someone talks about her, they have to add the caveat that they hate her jump technique. which, yes, i do agree with that. but from now on i'm just going to talk about the positive aspects of her skating, because i think she deserves more of that. it was my first time seeing her live and i liked her! she's musical, her arm movements are beautiful, and she's not slow at all, except on jump entries. her spins are great when she hits them. i appreciate her a lot more after seeing her live. her reaction after her fs was really cute.
chaeyeon: unexpected medalist but i'm happy for her! she is not my favorite among the top korean women but i'm impressed with her improvement this season. her sp is one of my favorites. that kind of quirky program suits her really well. the fs is a bit muted, but i think she does a good job with it as well. her musicality is the less obvious kind, but it's there. she's gradually growing into her own style.
loena: her sp was a lot of fun, the audience really got into it. she can sell a program, alright. loads of charisma and she skates BIG. the fs...well, to be fair, even without the jump mistakes, i never liked it. i appreciate what loena brings to the women's field, but i hope her programs are better next season. maybe a change in choreographer would be interesting?
haein: sirens is a masterpiece. i'm so glad she could skate it cleanly like that at least once. she has my favorite step sequences in the women's field by far. we'll just ignore everything else in the fs except for the step sequence. i love her so much and i want her to win another world medal someday.
mone: her skating skills are a dream, her overall quality is chef's kiss. but when she's nervous, you can really feel it. she skated like she was terrified in the sp and it showed. it detracted from the performance. i'm glad her fs went better. i hope her confidence improves and that this worlds was a good learning experience for her. i randomly ran into her on the concourse and she signed my japanese flag! she’s so tiny and adorable.
hana: on the other hand, hana does not skate scared. she just goes out and does her thing! but to me her skating still feels a bit "small" at the moment. her lutz-toe technique is terrifying... she can also work on her dance skills a bit more, her overall polish. but i love her programs. i still can't believe she made koo koo fun work. i love that she never does conventional "pretty" programs.
other notes:
amber: love her, but it is what it is. her 3a was excellent.
katia kurakova's fs reaction was a great moment. i like that she's trying different styles of music now, but i think she went a bit too far in the "serious" direction. her natural spark feels too muted.
young you: my darling. we all wanted so badly for her to do well... her sp was wonderful, though.
olga mikutina is becoming a new fave of mine. her skating is powerful and she's a good performer!
also love niina petrokina's powerful skating

all i know about the lawyers anime/games is that the legal system seems fucked, how does it effect mood swings and increasingly uncomfortable as they get bigger lawyers?
The Legal system in that series is... notoriously bad. You only get THREE DAYS to run a trial, evidence can be updated on the fly, it's implied that defense lawyers BARELY get paid (and get very little work since most people feel DOOMED to get prosecuted regardless.)
Mind you I haven't played the later games, so I have no idea if reform becomes a thing later in the games- but.
I can imagine this legal system makes it very tough for the folks working in it. (and frankly the medical system is... I don't remember how it works but I have very little faith.)
The way I picture things working out in my mind is:
If Phoenix gets pregnant:
Firstly, this man is BROKE, he is DESPERATE FOR CASES and will take any case regardless of how stressful it might be.
He might even take on OTHER work to pay to even think of having time off.
He cannot afford suits that fit, but tries to thrift something that works.
Like I said... he's just super desperate for work..
and it just came to my mind he might even RETIRE from lawyering (or step back for a bit) so he could work a less stressful job and he seemingly disappears in the public eye.
Also, a fun fact about Phoenix- he doesn't drive. This man is dealing with public transit as SOON as he can no longer ride his bike. It's hell a bit.
If Miles gets pregnant:
Miles is in a cushier position. Prosecution lawyers seemingly are a lot more prestigious and have a lot more money. He can afford to take time off, AND take some easier cases.
He could take a lot more time off because in this universe uhmm... the prosecution gets the help of the police for investigation- while the defense has to deal with the burden of proof themselves while actively being kicked out of crime scenes.
He has a lot more means to be comfortable- but that cannot save him from his own overworking tenancies.

Hello all, I'm back with another prompt for Werewolf Inclusivity Lore: Round 3
(Previous rounds were about gender and werewolves, and disability and werewolves, in case you're staring at this going 'What the fuck')
Anyway both previous discussions were equal parts fascinating and also super helpful to me personally, so I'm back with another! As ever, if you feel you want to chime in, please feel free to contact me however you wish, including privately and/or anonymously. Also, my standard disclaimer applies: this is for a series of very silly werewolf erotica novels set in Wales, and these discussions are to help me with casual representation - none of these books will be ABOUT these topics, they'll just feature them. Please do not expect a gripping and resonant treatise about what it means to be a trans werewolf. Please just expect some of the sexy werewolves to be trans.
Okay, with that out of the way, Topic Three:
Religion and Werewolves
(Read More to save your dashboards)
Right, now, for the most part this one is straight forward, because they have their own religion, right? They worship a Moon Goddess. The details of that are for me to invent and hash out (the genre I'm writing in has certainly never done so); I am more than happy for there to be regional variants of this religion though. As it's set in Wales I've given her a Welsh name, but I do think outside of Wales she'll have others (I'm also strongly leaning towards her having a cyclical gender presentation these days - most feminine at full moon, most masculine at new moon). All packs do worship her, though, because they're biologically attuned to the moon in a pretty unignorable way, and they believe the bonds between soulmates come from her (v important in an erotica book), and also when all is said and done I really do not intend to overcomplicate this. So far, so simple.
Now, I am trying to make a tidy percentage of characters POC, as I don't want to write a whitewash. But, given that religions can often have heavy interplay between culture and even ethnicity, I would like anyone who is not a mayonnaise-on-white-bread atheist like myself to chime in on what they would feel comfortable seeing integrated (as ever, I fully recognise that milage will differ.) So, for example:
If you wear religious (or religion-influenced) clothing, accessories or makeup, such as a hijab, would you want to see a werewolf character wearing it? I realise some items will be much more likely than others (and some are out of the question anyway - a crucifix is not going to work). If yes, would you be happy with a fake religious in-text reason for it?
If you're part of an ethno-religion like Judaism, how might an explicitly Jewish werewolf work (assuming you're happy to see one)? For context, this is not a genre that has a concept of humans being transformed by bite (although I could if necessary come up with something), but there is very much a concept of werewolves sometimes having human soulmates. So, it is feasible for a Jewish woman to have been mated with a werewolf and had kids, if that helps. However, would you want to see such a character be religiously Jewish? Or some fun new amalgamation? (Alternatively is there anything in Jewish history where you could go "Well, a bunch of groups broke apart from each other at that point and migrated away, so maybe one group became werewolves and that's why they left"? Can you spot them because they use Moon of David iconography instead of the Star? Idk help me pls)
Is there anything you can think of that I haven't even touched on here?
Do you think any or all of this is a terrible idea that should be destroyed with fire and I must be stopped now? I would much rather be told 'no' now, so I don't do it. Please don't feel nervous about telling me this is a bad plan.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT ALL OF THIS IS BACKGROUND LORE. I will not be writing a book ABOUT this stuff. Just potentially featuring it.
As a final bonus, if your culture has a fun tradition of were-creatures other than wolves that you think would be good to integrate, HMU. Like bears in Scandinavia, for example. The world is full of were-creatures but werewolves specifically are primarily European. Like I know India has a tradition of were-tigers! Which carries with it the fear of accidentally writing racist trash like The Tiger's Curse, but I also wouldn't want to deprive us the glory of a were-tiger character if people would actually want to see one, you know? (If it helps I am happy to write a super objectified and stereotypical Scandinavian were-bear called Björn Vikingson into the same book who only eats fermented herring and blueberries and lives in an IKEA, so that any tiger character is super nuanced by comparison.)
Anyway, all answers appreciated, feel no pressure to chime in unless you want to. Thanks all!

11, 12, 18, 21 for the turtle asks! :)
my answer to the voice acting one got really long, so. oops adding a readmore
11. Favorite turtle (iteration specific)?
maaan this is a tough question. i think i’ve said before that my Top Favorite Turtle of All Time switches between all the 03 kids, but it’s usually Mikey or Raph. right now I think Raph is my favorite. His 03 characterization is so compelling, he just tugs at my heartstrings in a lot of different ways. I love that he starts at his lowest point early in the show and then we get to see him gradually learn to navigate his feelings and connect with the people around him. He's doing his best to figure out his place in the world, he feels like a very real depiction of what it's like being a neurodivergent teen (okay I know I'm projecting now but also I'm right). The sibling angst can hit a little close to home sometimes but I also look at him and think "oh that kid is gonna be okay. he's just figuring it out." Yknow??
Other incarnations that are very dear to me: ‘87 Raphael, bmvtmnt Mikey, 90s movies/07 Leo, and Rise Raph
ask game
12. Favorite turtle across all iterations?
It’s Mikey is anyone surprised. Like. That’s my funny little guy!!
I think he brings something new to the table with every incarnation. Like, the rest of the boys feel like they mostly have the same core traits across iterations, but I get the sense that most Mikeys are different from each other on a more fundamental level. They all have different ways of thinking and flaws and I find them all to be very compelling and entertaining to watch :]
Raph is a close second though! Again, who is surprised qwq
18. Did any of their voice actors really stand out to you?
Ahh omg I'm actually so glad you asked this one anon. I pay a lot of attention to the voice acting so just going in loose chronological order:
Obviously Rob Paulsen is a fucking gem who brought Raphael to life and p much singlehandedly made '12 Donnie likeable (sorry the writers did all that to you buddy). But man I don't see enough love for Barry Gordon as Donatello! He brings such a particular vibe to the character that's so endlessly endearing I just think it's funny that he's kinda the meanest one but he sounds like the littlest fucking guy ever
Michael Sinterniklaas as Leo is so fucking charming I just. Holds him gently. I like how confused he sounds all the time. I like his little laugh he does in the scene where they're playing with the hose. I like his "it's okay!" line in The Ultimate Ninja. I like that he's going for grinditude. I like him so bad ToT And Sam Riegel as Donny is wild because I think he sometimes has the weirdest line reads--not in a bad way, just like, why did you say it like that. I'm forever obsessed with him.
Rewatching 2007 movie was so wild I could barely focus with how many voices I recognized in there. Sarah Michelle Gellar as April was really fun. With Mako as Splinter okay I may as well just cry myself to sleep
Greg Cipes and Ashley Johnson characters are literally their own ship dynamic like whatever that is I don't care they invented it
The entire Rise cast is sooo good I adore every one of them the comedy just legitimately would not work without them. Not a bad line read in that whole show tbh. I'm particularly fond of Josh Brener as Donnie for that autistic-ass delivery. Also cannot stress enough how great Ayo Edebiri and Zelda Williams are too like the entire cast just has such a good vibe
21. Give one character a hug?
I MEAN. It's hard to choose they all deserve a hug!! But I am not much of a hugger and neither are a lot of the characters who need the most hugs. So I think... Rise Mikey or Alopex maybe? I think that they would give very good hugs.

Grace my love!! Have you watched the new sidemen Sunday?? I’m an hour in, any thoughts if you have???
Hey Buzzy Bae! (hope I'm okay to call u that :) )
Saw this come in ystrdy but was only about 10 mins in and wanted to give you a good answer so I've let it marinate and watched so that I am now also about 1 hour into the video
Hmmmmmmm very very interesting Sidemen Sunday, this one... I'll list down a bunch of rando thoughts n u evaluate them with me and give your own opinions also
For reference, this is the Sidemen Sunday of the week:
Tumblr media
SO! Thoughts:
Simon always hits so well whenever he's host - moresidemen, main channel sidemen, he's honestly really good at filling in all those little gaps in conversation and he's quite quick-witted with his jokes, and I think that might be to do with the fact that he loves Stephen Tries and Beta Squad, British-type humour and he's done really well with emulating that type of humour in a way that fits his vibe
Ah, I love seeing Deji in Sidemen videos! He's such a sweetie, looks and acts like a big teddy bear which I love for him. I feel like he's such boyfriend material, like, he's so cutesy and honestly kinda fine, like, why does nobody else SEE THIS SHIT!!! Would be the best hugger, so funny + positive, absolute listener, so real with you... Ugh, need his energy in my life
ANOTHER VIK + HARRY TEAM DUO! These two together give me LIFE! I feel like Harry just loves tryna bond with Vik because whilst Vik is so so so intellectually smart, Harry is so practically smart and that bright sort of person that balances out Vik so well. Like, Vik studies theory and Harry knows how to do it practically, is their duo's vibes.
Also about Harry + Vik - I am (haven't watched the full vid but currently they're dead last) ROOTING for this team to win. They have chemistry, they have effort, I know damn well Harry's a good cook... Idk, this team j gets me smiling most, I wanna see them succeed
Ethan and Tobi duo is more interesting. Generally I think these team/duo works really well together because Ethan's hilarious and Tobi laughs a lot + they j vibe like that and it's fun to see! This vid though, Ethan's more stresso about the cooking aspect bc obvi he wants to win and he's come across (so far) as a little whiney and complaining... Tbh, Ethan's whining does get on my nerves a touch, but in the end I end up sympathising + feeling worse for Ethan bc i know SDMN fans CANNOT empathise w Ethan's stress or shouting or however he reacts and then they bully him? Like, Sidemen fans see one thing they don't like and they just will not shut up about it. We saw this about the colleague's thing, how ppl started hating on Ethan- calling him insensitive and ungrateful for calling the boys "colleagues", as if the fans weren't practically agreeing with him prior when they made their comments of "Sidemen feels overproduced, we prefer the old videos where it's just banter between the boys", like, Hello??????? Dunno if this point made sense but summary: Ethan's complaining mildly pisses me off but I actually feel bad for him instead of annoyed, because I know fans will have a go at him for complaining + take things wayyyyy too serious.
And oh deary dear, JJ and Deji?? I love love love these boys on their own but in a weird way why are they so jarring on a team together? I feel like Ethan and Deji would've worked rly well, maybe Tobi and JJ on a team instead? JJ always acts so unhappy to be with his brother and it kinda reminded me of 2017-2020 beef between Dej and JJ. Like, JJ was just being mean and telling Deji to fuck off, that he's useless... But they're both at the same competency level?? Like, sure, Deji isn't really competence, but JJ is no better (even though apparently his omlettes are delicious). I feel as though JJ always takes place as Sidemen's greatest wally/idiot asw, and having Deji there means that JJ cannot be the biggest oblivious-one there, but he doesn't know how to fit in other than that... And so he takes on the character or the persona of a bully/just being mean to Deji, but (at least in my opinion) it feels really jarring and sort of uncomfortable to watch. I don't think this is a very popular opinion that I have either- maybe I'm just deeping it, or maybe I'm just projecting my own experience onto others.
Slightly more lighthearted note asw, I thought Kimberly (Special masterchef guest!) looked a lot like Faith which was quite funny lol. Like the American version of Faith :D
Right, very long, very waffle-y...
What are your thoughts? Agree, disagree, think I've read any situations entirely wrong? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or post a letter through the inbox n ill reply sooner or later :)
Thanks for asking, Buzzy, hope you're having a good one! <33

One pet peeve I have is that I've seen people say that if you want to get a tattoo of Astarions scar that means you clearly don't have any media literacy.
so many Astarion fans hit all fun (derogatory) anti points, let me elaborate:
Thinking that they're the only ones who understand the character
Thinking they're allowed to consume all content with the character because they're doing it the right way ("I can play his ascended ending because I know it's bad!!")
Automatically assuming that your interaction with the character are in "bad faith" ("you only play that ending to sexualize, you don't get him")
Trying to ban content they don't want to see ("there shouldn't be smut with Astarion on ao3")
... while at the same time trying to excuse reading or writing smut with their self insert/Astarion ship of their choice because see point 2.
Zero lines drawn between the game and real life, no nuanced thought whatsoever (the tattoo bit is an extra level of icky for me because there are very good reasons to NOT get any tattoos resembling nazi symbols or numbers on arms etc etc, even if it's technically a reference to a video game, but using the same argument for Astarion's tattoo?? Yikes)
"You don't have any media literacy" being thrown around the minute someone enjoys Astarion in a way differently from theirs! I cannot stress enough how subjective EVERYBODY'S perception of Astarion is... and no, one (1) person working on the game calling his ascended ending a "bad" ending doesn't automatically make it true. Urgh. I am getting the same vibe as with actors who think they have anything to say about the role they're playing, sometimes even going over the actual author's head. Not how media works.
Another fun bit is calling ALL Astarion ships abusive because he "isn't ready for a relationship". Uh. Sure. But YOUR tav is probably the exception right? (rolls eyes so hard)
Probably similar to the no smut demands but I've seen people say you're a bad person if you do the drow twins fun with Astarion, even if you get his enthusiastic consent to it after stopping the ritual and staying a spawn. I think so many of his fans have this mindset where they expect him to be broken forever until he's magically cured by their character - they don't see it as a process
And finally. How can I forget. The violence, murder and manipulation needed to romance Astarion? No biggie. It's all fictional, right? Just a game? Astarion himself, however? No, that's definitely a REAL person...
