Wondering if Messmer was just the only one to help/sympathize with Marika on the shattering of the elden ring. His relation to snakes, fire, etc, could just be that he turned himself into a living weapon taking parts of all of the enemies of the Erd Tree he could find. Momma's boy headcanon tbh.

Haven't seen a lot of talk about luciens reaction to the card reading. I dont want to get ahead of myself, but it would be cool of he did actually remember something from Molly's time, something beyond this weird cult thing he has going on. Not bc I want Molly back or whatever, but bc I think lucien with Molly's memories would be an extremely self conflicted character and I want TM9 to befriend him too like they do everybody else. Don't take Cad away from me, but have lucien as an essik-like friend, you know? It would be really fun to watch i think :)

Totally different person but about voice therapy, once you reach your goal sound, do you have to continue "exercising" your vocal chords after that? A lot of the info I've read has me confused on this and I'd like to know for when I finally can do voice therapy

First, let’s break down what you call [sound], there are 2 things you need to focus on, pitch (generally how far up your voice goes) and resonance (the variation in the voice, often described as richness or voice flavour).

Start out working on the pitch as that’s where you literally have to build the muscles around your vocal cords. Once you reach a pitch you want to keep, that’s where most of the work starts as your vocal cords are not used to be talking that high. Practice, practice, practice, using that pitch, making it your new normal.

Take breaks! If you start to feel tired or irritated in your vocal cords, stop immediately!! Over-doing voice practice might lead to voice fatigue where you may permanently or long term damage your vocal cords, you do not want that. 

Eventually, you’ll take to using this pitch by default whenever you open your mouth to say something, without having to think about it. That’s good! When you’ve come this far and your voice stops breaking when using it (Note: Your voice WILL break a lot wile you are getting used to the new pitch, and it WILL sound horrible some times) you don’t have to do active pitch training any more.

So, practice pitch until your voice stops breaking. Keep practising until you can use that pitch without feeling strained or tired. With enough practice, your vocal cords will get used to the new pitch and it will just be your new default pitch without the risk of developing voice fatigue.

Next up is resonance, but I’ll not go in details of that now. Training pitch alone is going to take months, I’d say start with that. Good luck!

Omg I'm exactly the same! And it even happens for games I've never played before! I'll be watching a let's play and they'll be too excited to get into the game and not do the tutorial or not look at the pop up boxes and then go "how do I take out my grappling hook???" And spend time on it while I'm sitting here going "LITERALLY THE MAIN THING THE TUTORIAL TEACHES YOU IS THE GRAPPLING HOOK"

Seriously! Almost 100% of the time I watch a Let's Play (or someone playing a game in general), I give up within a few episodes so I can just play the game myself.

he really is the best. this guy did volunteer search and rescue in northern ontario for like fifty years while also teaching high school English on weekdays. he has a basement full of antique snowshoes that he still busts out every winter. he used to sing in a barbershop quartet and he has mastered the art of carrying on a conversation while completely unable to hear the other person involved
