Cow Vetch (Vicia cracca) on Pear Hill. it’s not native, but rather than being an invasive it has become naturalized, which means it has found a place in the native ecosystem rather than upsetting the balance therin.

Marjolein Bastin Watering Can Wildflower Meadow Collector Plate
8" plate by Marjolein Bastin. Not just a typical display-only collectors plate, this one is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe! I just love the details of all the little critters and greenery.
The words around the edge are names for flowers!
Papaver Rhoeas : Field Poppy
Vicia Cracca : Cow Vetch
Mentha Piperita: Peppermint
Bellis Perennis: Daisy
Ranunculus: Buttercups

A patch of lawn, when left to its own devices, eventually ceases to be a lawn. This section has not been moved for over three years. The grasses can easily obscure a small child.
"Volunteer" wildflowers, clockwise from top, include Achillea millefolium, musk mallow (Malva moschata), clover (Trifolium pratense), vetch (Vicia cracca), daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare), heal-all (Prunella vulgare), birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus), and bellflower (Campanula sp.).
Deliberately-planted flowers include a couple of tree lilies gained through a local plant exchange and a clump of Rudbeckia transplanted from an abandoned lot.
