#victor would believe that the triplets are yuuri's
Note
Asking again just to make sure it reaches your inbox. YoI headcannons please. Yuuri, Yuri, Viktor, Phichit, and Otabek reacting when their s/o tells them they have something on their face. They kiss the boys' face and cheekily say 'it was your dashing good looks'
I'm sorry! Work is the worst and I've been drained every day, and then my brain forgets to post and... ugh. Anyway, sorry. I'll post two today to try to make up for it.
Also this new post editor is fucking garbage
Katsuki Yuuri
He’s immediately embarrassed and his hands search frantically for what you could be talking about.  Doesn’t even notice you trying to smother a laugh.
You’re probably going to have to catch his hands to get him to stop.  Your best bet is to take his face between your hands to hold him still.  He’s so embarrassed that you could see him like that, that he is really tense.
The moment your lips touch the corner of his mouth and deliver your line, he’s even more embarrassed.  Complains loudly, trying to pretend like his entire face isn’t the color of one of the triplet’s spandex.
A switch flips in him instantly and he’s grabbing you, grumbling about showing you, and kisses you with great enthusiasm.
Yuri Plisetsky
He’s instantly suspicious.  He’s sure there isn’t anything on his face.  That being said, he still tries to subtly wipe at his skin to make sure.  How humiliating would it be if there was?
But your giggling gives you away and pretty soon he’s scowling at you and turning away.
You’ll have to chase him if you want to finish your joke.  He’s not too hard to catch though.  Kiss him quick, before he tries to hide his face.
Basically, explodes when you say the words though.  One part flustered, one part enraged, his whole face turns red and he yells something about You idiot!
Secretly, his insides are wiggling though.
Victor Nikiforov
Doesn’t believe you for a second (like he’d ever let something like that happen), but he plays along.  Makes a fuss touching his face and crying “Wheeeerrre???”
Is totally aware of your giggling, keeps one eye on the way you bite your lip and how you keep getting incrementally closer.
Let’s you finish your game, waiting for the right moment to pounce.  It comes when you try to settle him and deliver your line “It was your dashing good looks!”
Where you took your game surprises him and he flushes in happiness.  None of his over the top reaction is feigned.  He picks you up, laughing and demands kisses.
“At least we know your eyesight’s not failing you!
Phichit Chulanont
This one blinks at you and smiles.  “Can you get it for me?”  100% would use something like that to his advantage to get you to touch him.
When you pretend to inspect your face, fingers brushing at his cheeks, he’s watching you with big, dark eyes that are full of something that makes you blush.
“Oops, it turns out it was just your dashing good looks!”  You laugh, but inside, you’re probably quivering because that look is getting worse.
He laughs and captures you, making you unable to escape.  “Do I get to play a trick on you now?” He asks from point blank range, his lips hovering over yours.
Otabek Altin
He’s more startled than anything, then he wipes at his face with his sleeve.  After he does so and sees you laughing, he figures it out pretty quickly.
He’s quick to turn the tables.  “So do you,” he says in a low tone, advancing on you.
You’re probably confused, like how is that possible.  His smirk is subtle as he catches your face between his hands and lowers his face until you are nose to nose.
“Hm, my mistake.  It was just your cuteness.”
Gives you a short kiss to smother your squawk of outrage.

AU where Yuuri and Yuko are ice dancers, and Viktor has a massive crush on Yuuri. He pines in secret tho bc he thinks the partners are a couple (his dramatic ass doesn't even notice when Yuko changes her name to Nishigori). When the triplets come to see the pair one competition Viktor thinks they're Yuuri's and almost cries. Imagine his confusion when that season Yuko begins trying her best to play wingman for Yuuri and get them together (she's finally had it with Yuuri's pining over the man)
OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS AU

I haven't felt this inspired to write something since 2014
Tumblr media
Alright, I can finally put some thoughts down somewhere besides the notepad at work (under a Read More for couuurtesy).
Alright. Modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice set in Yuri!!! on Ice world. I saw there were a couple P&P AUs on AO3, but I thought I needed to take a crack at it. NOT COMPLETE, I’m just spit-balling and need to hold myself accountable.
This story would (will? will I actually follow through??) follow P&P’s plotline and NOT YoI’s plotline. I’m gonna try to fit in as many *important* moments as I can from the anime, but only as they fit into the story as a whole. That said, some of the relationships inherent in P&P will have to be adjusted to better reflect the cast of characters at my disposal. When I say that Mr Collins is Celestino and Phichit is Charlotte, it is NOT because I ship those characters, but because, going by the story, it makes sense with Yuuri (Elizabeth) saying no to Celestino (Mr. Collins) being his coach while Phichit (Charlotte) goes with him and continues skating under him. Ja feel? The same goes for the other relationships that might strike people as odd. Just because the corresponding characters are together in Jane’s work doesn’t mean they are in this AU.
Characters: Who’s who, in no particular order
Yuuri Katsuki - Elizabeth Bennet
Victor Nikiforov - Mr. (Fitzwilliam) Darcy
Chris Giacometti - Mr. (Charles) Bingley
Phichit Chulanont - Charlotte Lucas
Toshiya & Hiroko Katsuki - Mr & Mrs Bennet
(Here, with the sisters in the novel, I could go a plethora of ways and interpretations. Here’s what I’m going with for now:)
Minako Okukawa - Jane Bennet
Mari Katsuki - Mary Bennet
Minami Kenjirou - Kitty Bennet
Otabek Altin - Lydia Bennet
(BEAR WITH ME, OKAY, these are also subject to change as the story develops)
JJ Leroy - Caroline Bingley
Yuri Plisetsky - Georgiana Darcy
Takeshi Nishigori - Mr. Gardiner
Yuko Nishigori - Mrs. Gardiner
(The triplets do exist in this universe, I understand the Gardiners do not have any children, it’s fine, don’t worry about it)
Lilia Baranovskaya - Mr. Wickham
(B E A R   W I TH   M E)
Yakov Feltsman - Lady Catherine DeBourgh
Georgi Popovich - Ann DeBourgh
Mila Babicheva - Col. Fitzwilliam
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man, in possession of many gold medals, must be in want of a protegee. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his most recent World Championship, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of his competitors and the press, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their circle; or, otherwise, to none but himself.
When Yuuri Katsuki first meets living legend Victor Nikiforov, he thinks him rude and conceited, while Victor struggles to hold back his growing attraction, kindled from a night he can’t believe anyone could forget and spurred on by Yuuri’s own unassuming grace on the ice.

To All The Skaters I've Loved Before
Chapter Thirty-Three: My Dear Yuuri
Dear (Uncle) Yuuri,
This note is from Axel, Lutz, and Loop Nishigori and Victor Nikiforov. We want to say that you are a wonderful person and we are so happy that we get to live so close to you now. We love watching you skate and we are proud of you all the time. Please keep this note for good luck, so you can read it before every competition and do your best!
Love,
Axel, Lutz, Loop, and Victor
P.S. The girls have run out of patience for writing, but they wanted me to add that they hope you'll teach them to skate just like you one day. I hope to learn a thing or two also. — Victor
The large, blocky lettering juxtaposed with Victor’s neat script sends a stab of guilt through Yuuri. He at least should have read this one, despite his ambivalent feelings about opening the rest of them. Even though it had been easy to pick out from the bunch, with his name written in messy, childish writing on the surface of the folded up note, it had somehow gotten lost in the mix of the rest of them.
Stored in his barely-used bedroom, the box of notes had completely fallen out of his conscious awareness, with everything else that had been going on in the past few weeks. Near-constant training for the Final and time with Victor filling in all the gaps had meant there had been no time or energy for anything else.
But that’s not strictly true. He had decided not to think about it too hard. He’d let himself indulge in the lingering fear that all the notes before their relationship had become real would turn out to be blank, or would mention Victor’s intentions to get back together with Chris. That what had happened in Beijing had been an impulse decision on Victor’s part, or a passive choice to let things just happen.
He hadn’t wanted to know. He had been happy with Victor, and he didn’t want whatever he might have found out from the notes to put a damper on that. But now…
He spreads out the folded notes on the table, and Phichit picks up the one he’d already opened, from the triplets.
“This is adorable,” he says. “Are they all from the triplets?”
“Just that one,” Yuuri says, turning over one of the notes in his hands. There are tiny numbers scrawled in the corners of each of them — the dates. “The rest are from Victor.”
“And you haven’t read them?” Phichit frowns.
“At first, they were just for show — a ‘thoughtful gesture’ to be caught on camera, for Chris to find out about,” he explains. “At the time, I thought they might be blank, and that I would just end up feeling like an idiot for thinking there would actually be a message for me.”
“That’s— Ugh, Yuuri. You and Victor were friends, even back then, weren’t you? He probably wrote little things to be nice, at least.”
“I know, I know.” Yuuri groans. “I’m awful.”
“Don’t make me flick you again,” Phichit says, warningly.
“Maybe the complete lack of therapy since I moved back to Japan wasn't the best choice ever,” Yuuri mutters.
“Uh, yeah.” Phichit sighs, sitting down across from him. “Are you going to read them now?”
Yuuri nods, and finds the note with the earliest date. All the way back at World’s, Victor had given it to him right before the free skate.
Dear Yuuri,
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you. You became a shining ray of hope when my life seemed otherwise dark and drab. I'm so glad we're friends.
Cheers to the beginning something wonderful.
Yours,
Victor
Tears prick at his eyes. God, he’s an asshole. If this one has a heartfelt message — the one Victor had given to him literally right in front of Chris — the one most likely to have been just for show — then the rest probably have real messages, too.
The next note had been been right before he’d performed Eros for the first time, in the mini competition against Yuri Plisetsky.
Dear Yuuri,
I’m truly touched that you've allowed me into your life and into your home. You've been working hard and it shows every time you skate. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to help you realize your full potential as a skater, and my life is better for it.
Yours,
Victor
Yuuri presses his fist to his mouth, tears spilling down his cheeks as he blinks hard. How could he have ever thought Victor could be cruel enough to give him blank notes?
“You okay?” Phichit asks, and Yuuri nods silently.
The next note is the one from the triplets, and the one after that is from while they had been sightseeing in Fukuoka. Victor had noticed a few people aiming their phones in their direction, and he’d winked at Yuuri as he’d conspicuously slipped the note into his back pocket.
Yuuri unfolds it carefully.
My dear Yuuri,
I can't adequately convey how much you have changed my life for the better. Every day I wake up with a purpose that I had been missing for a long time before I came with you to Hasetsu. My greatest wish is that I will be able to create such a positive impact on your life as well.
Yours,
Victor
Yuuri smiles through the tears streaming down his face. He hadn’t realized how much Victor’s time in Hasetsu, even early on, had meant to him. He’s hit with a powerful urge to rush out of the room and assure Victor that the impact he’s had on Yuuri’s life has been overwhelmingly positive.
But it will take only a few minutes to get through the rest of them, and then Yuuri will have the context he’s been missing all along. Mari is out there with Victor; he’ll be okay in the meantime, and he deserves for Yuuri to properly read his notes, after all this time.
Yuuri sucks in a breath at the date on the next note. The Fukuoka championship, when he’d been trying his hardest to distance himself from Victor, fearful of his own feelings.
Yuuri,
I miss the closeness that we had. I don't know exactly what I've done wrong, but I want to make amends. I feel like there's a wall between us and my heart aches that I don't get to see the real Yuuri anymore.
I didn't mean to pull you into the deep end.
Let's walk along the beach, instead. Maybe we can wade together in the shallows. And one day, if you can trust me again, we can learn to swim.
Victor
Yuuri sobs. He’s put Victor through so much shit. And Victor has been nothing but gracious and understanding through it all.
… wade together in the shallows…
When was it that he had told Victor about his feelings about getting close to people being like venturing too far from the safe shallows? Hadn’t that been a months before Victor would have written this note? And he’d remembered that detail…
Victor had told him that he’d thought Yuuri had pulled away because he realized that Victor had developed feelings. That must be what he’d meant by ‘pulling him into the deep end’. With this note he’d been trying to tell him that it was alright if Yuuri didn’t reciprocate, that he was still happy to work towards just being his friend again.
Friendship has always been a deeply significant relationship for Victor. Of course a conversation with Chris about it would sound like something of enormous emotional importance.
He curls himself over, pressing his cheek to the table. “I don’t deserve him, Phichit.”
“That’s up to him, I think,” Phichit says, carefully. “So you believe him about Chris, then?”
Yuuri nods, grabbing a Kleenex from the box on the nightstand and blowing his nose. Ugh, he’s such an ugly-crier.
What’s the next one? He takes a deep breath. This is it: the note from the night of the Beijing short program. Had Victor really been planning on taking him out to dinner and telling him how he felt? The note probably won’t say anything outright, but given what had happened that night… He’ll just read it and see for himself.
My dearest Yuuri,
I think — I hope — I understand, now. I'm so sorry I didn't see it sooner, if I’m right.
I'm looking forward to having dinner with you tonight. I hope we can work everything out, and start a new chapter together.
Yours always,
Victor
Yuuri covers his mouth with his hand, caught between sobbing and laughing, smiling and crying. Victor must have already picked up on his feelings at the time, but hadn’t pushed him to talk; he’d listened when Yuuri had asked him not to say anything, even though Yuuri had been completely off-base about what Victor had wanted to talk about.
He scrambles to open the next note, the one Victor had given him before the free skate, after they’d had their night together. He really has no excuse for not reading this one before.
My Yuuri,
You came back to me. I can hardly believe it.
The circumstances that brought us together are so strange and unlikely; it seems like fate that we would find each other in truth despite the layers of pretense we’d placed between us.
Waking up to your smile this morning was true bliss.
Yours always,
Victor
Yuuri sniffles, and pulls off his glasses to dab at his eyes. He laughs wetly. Victor has no room to make fun of the flowery language Yuuri had used in his love letter.
“What are you going to do?” Phichit asks.
“I’m going to go out there.”

vityathebabe user @starsaregay asking the real question.
--- The adventures of Yuuri "Heartbreaker" Katsuki, or: how Yuuri became known as a cold player full of himself who doesn't care about anyone. (Hint: it's an anxiety and obliviousness.)
• ADORE!!! oblivious heartbreaker Yuuri + social media fic. The best description is actually one of the tags: everyone is in love with Yuuri: the fic.
  He Should Know by Lady_Ganesh
Past Yuuri/Chris, Canonverse, Rated T, 2K
A public service announcement Chris and Yuuri made for the Sochi Olympics comes to light.
• HI HI this speaks to me directly: Viktor is a dork and jealous and Yuuri is precious.... I just love this so much.
Master Plans by Qwertzu (@qwertzu824)
Canonverse ish, Rated T, 17K
Who wouldn't want to date Yuuri and/or Viktor? Nobody is immune to their charm - including random strangers, who unfortunately have no idea the two are happily married and totally smitten with each other...
• This series!!! outsider pov, identity reveal, and the last installment!!!!! I die. You'll laugh and you’ll feel sorry for these people at the same time.
The Way to Life and Love is a Curved Trajectory by crossroadswrite  (@crossroadswrite)
Canonverse, Rated T, 5K
“Do you know Katsuki Yuuri?” Victor asks Chris, two minutes later, when he finally manages to convince himself to stop looking at the dip of Katsuki’s back and his powerful thighs in those tight Mizuno track pants, and the way his hands are poised in the air mid-skate, and his slicked back hair and brown eyes and flushed cheeks.
Christophe hums into the phone in a way that suggests he not only knows Katsuki Yuuri but he’s acquainted with him. Chris’ version of acquaintance is very physical and usually involves a healthy amount of groping. “Don’t you?”
“He’s Japan’s Ace,” Victor says, trying to rack his brain for more information. “His step sequence is good?”
Chris hums again. “You’re not that oblivious that you haven’t heard of Unfairly Beautiful Yuuri.”
“Who?”
(Or, the one where Victor falls - literally and then figuratively - for Yuuri. Also something about a Best Ass Poll that is way more official than it should be.)
• Alternate first meeting <3<3<3 you have it all: social media, pining and THAT ASS. I would say 12/10 would read again, but I have already, a bunch of times.
What you should know about dating a man with children by SassySalchow (diedraechin) (@diedraechin)
Canonverse, Rated G, 2K
Based off a tumblr drabble prompt and then grew too big...
"AU scenario where the skaters mistake the triplets for Yuuri's kids when they first meet him, possibly when he brings them to the skater-only area as a b-day treat, or something? (Kudos if you can work in jealous!Victor somehow, but the skaters having a fun reaction would be A+, tbh. Would be lovely if you could include Chris and/or Yurio :D )
• Ahhhhhh my quick fix for whenever I’m feeling down, this Viktor is such a dork and extra, I love him.
5 times Viktor encountered culture shock in Hasetsu + 1 time Yuuri did by forochel (@forochel)
Canonverse, Rated T, 3K
this fic ... basically does what it says on the tin.
• I adore not so smooth Viktor in an environment he can't control (or at least do some research lol), good stuff.
Five Times Chris's Dating Advice Was Ignored By Russian Skaters by liliths
Canonverse, Rated T, 3K
—and one time it wasn't.
Christophe Giacometti. Twenty-five. Cat lover, chocolate eater. Professional Swiss figure skater and confirmed Grand Prix finalist. Running an unofficial dating advice ring for Russian skaters who don't listen to him to begin with. How did his life come to this?
Chris-centric, in which he is done with literally everyone. Except the dog.
• Chris is heaven sent and deserves a medal for dealing with awkward russian skaters.
just like me they long to be by sparklespiff (@todaythesamesky)
Canonverse, Rated T, 3K
"Haven't you noticed that Yuuri gets everything he wants?"
"Everything that's in somebody else's power to give him," Mari says, before Victor can bring up last year's GPF. "He's not magic, just pretty."
"But it's like magic. My theory is that it's because he's sneaky beautiful, so you're not expecting it, and then, under all that stuff, whoa! Gorgeous. And it's too late to save yourself."
"Stuff?" Victor keeps smiling but makes his voice cold, the way he does when reporters overstep. His Yuuri doesn't have stuff. Everything about him is beautiful.
or:
Yuuri lives in a Beautiful Person Bubble. It's Victor's responsibility to make sure he never finds out.
• Again with oblivious heartbreaker Yuuri, this is ridiculously funny. Also, Mari and Phichit??? A++
The Boyfriend Paradox by japansace (@japansace)
Canonverse, Rated T, 3K
For some inexplicable reason, Yuuri speaks Russian.
Now, as everyone knows, there are only two viable reasons why anyone ever learns a foreign language:
1. For school. 2. To impress a foreign love interest.
And Victor can’t quite bring himself to believe that Yuuri would be at all studious enough to hunt down Russian classes in Detroit of all places.
(Or: Victor gets jealous of a boyfriend that doesn’t exist.)
• We all think Yuuri is dense and oblivious but like Viktor is just????? SO BLIND???? it’s adorable.
The Thirst Trap by CharmingMonsters
Canonverse, Rated M, 12K (WIP)
Victor Nikiforov reads Thirst Tweets for a Buzzfeed video; Yuuri is anonymously quoted and wants to die. Phichit makes sure everyone is properly hydrated.
• Awkward meet cute, Yuuri the fanboy, sad pre Yuuri Viktor, hilarious but the feels omg
Giacometti & Co. by Anna (arctic_grey) (@finleighsaid)
Past Viktor/Chris, Past Yuuri/Chris, Canonverse, Rated M, 7K
Against his shoulder and into the fabric of his t-shirt, Yuuri mumbled, “HaveyoueversleptwithChris?”
He choked on his breath. Oh. Uh. “Errrr…” His mind raced. “A little?”
aka the fic where both Viktor and Yuuri have slept with Chris.
• Amazing!! I owe this fic so much! like really, this is cute, fun and jealous Viktor is the cherry on top.
The Early, Awkward Years by Nomanono (@nomanono)
Viktor/Chris, Canonverse, Rated E, 6K
Victor Nikiforov wasn't always smooth and suave. His singular focus on skating created a pronounced inability to people, and Chris winds up bearing the brunt of his sexual incompetence.
• This is beyond funny, I had to stop reading 3 times to properly laugh. Inexperienced, not a playboy Viktor is the best best and Chris tries so hard, poor thing.
it's like you're photoshopped by Metis_Ink
Actors AU, Rated T, 10K
Not-So-Local Ex-Dancer Upsets Coworkers by Failing to Communicate with Celebrity Castmate, details at eleven.
//Yuuri just wants to retire already.
• The actual movie is amazing? the author literally wrote an entire musical for this fic, mad respect. And at some point I cried, legit tears, because I was laughing so hard.
Pinning and Pining by Multiple_Universes (@witharthurkirkland)
Porn actors AU, Rated E, 51K
Victor starts his career as a porn star, working for a studio that has a somewhat… artistic approach to the whole genre. But that’s not the problem. The problem is: he can’t find a way to ask his hot co-star to be his boyfriend.
An AU where Victor and Yuuri are both porn stars who, despite all the hot sex filmed for a ton of movies, still end up in a situation where Yuuri is oblivious and Victor is pining away.
• The porn movies are so cheesy and bad but like artistic so you just laugh and laugh. Viktor is such a softie and there’s so much unresolved romantic tension, a big fave.
though the stars walk backward by alykapedia (@alykapediaaa)
Space AU, Rated T, 8K
“Trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love though the stars walk backward.” - E.E. Cummings
Yuuri's only ever wanted to send a message out into the great vastness of space, maybe witness First Contact during his lifetime. He gets his wish. And then some.
• Alien viktor!!! an intergalactic booty call!!! fantastic!
Much Ado About Something by eternalsunshine13, Skowronek (@eternalsunshine13, @kaja-skowronek)
Space AU, Rated T, 33K
By day, Victor Nikiforov is the head of European operations for LearX, a company on the forefront of private space travel. By night, he is makka-baby on Tumblr, a prominent figure in the small but passionate poodle fandom.
By day, Yuuri Katsuki runs F.O.O.L., a subsidiary of Katsuki Enterprises, whose stated goal is to bring LearX down one lawsuit after another. By night, he’s oodlesofpoodles, an active member of the poodle fandom and possibly makka-baby’s biggest fan.
By day, they duke it out in court. By night, they become friends—and maybe something more—as they fall for each other one Tumblr message at a time.
Or: a romantic comedy starring two idiots in love, the Katsuki family, the mothers Nikiforov, the husbands Chulanont-Giacometti, two doggos, six hamsters, one Yurio, and many, many schemes to get our favorite lovebirds together.
• Do they really hate each other?? are they falling in love?? is the tumblr app gonna crash all the damn time? I won't tell, you gotta read this.
The Vastness of Space by shysweetthing (@shysweetthing)
Space AU, Rated E, 16K
As chief communications officer on board the Interstellar Alliance Fleet’s Star Ship Victory, Yuuri doesn’t have to think about who he actually is on his home planet. He just has to listen to his captain, do his job, and…not fall in love with his best friend, the ship’s science officer, Victor Nikiforov.
Well. Two out of three’s not bad.
Then his mother calls with the worst possible news: She, the Empress of New Nihon, has arranged Yuuri’s marriage. There’s only one thing Yuuri can do: Fake a boyfriend, and fake one fast. Who better/worse to play that role than the friend he wishes was more? What can go wrong? It’s not like Yuuri can fall more in love...
• Mutual pining, fake dating and arranged marriage AND SPACE UGHHH all my weak spots. So sweet and good and the writing is on point, i cry.
The Unknown Unknown by opalish
Superpowers AU, Rated T, 7K
Yuuri never meant to become a supervillain. These things just happen to him.
• One of the funniest fics I’ve ever read, the author has the best comic timing and this fic is beyond me like I practically laughed the whole time.
Dr. Shiny and the Case of the Beautiful Man by ShatteredPrism (@etherealalchemist)
Doctors AU, not rated, 6K
There are about five things that Victor, in this very moment, is absolutely sure of.
1. The spawns of satan are here 2. they are not accompanied by their angel of a mother 3. they are with the most beautiful man he's ever seen 4. his scrubs are wet from where he'd dropped water on himself 5. and Victor is very, very gay.
Emphasis on point five, with a side of cupid's arrow and "ba-dum ba-dum" on a plate.
Because he is Very Gay, and not only is he Very Gay but he is also Hopelessly Attracted to a man who is undoubtedly Very Straight and very Unavailable and is perhaps the Most Beautiful Man Victor has ever seen.
---
in which Victor is a doctor, Yuuri is a godfather, and Yuri just wants some peace and quiet and a larger stash of lollipops.
• So pure and fun and Viktor is so so so extra.
pass that dutch by kiaronna (@kiaronna)
High School/Mean Girls AU, Rated T, 5K
Maybe Viktor shouldn't have watched Mean Girls before he started his first day of high school in the United States, but he can't help it if he is suddenly inducted into his high school's very fashionable, Instagram-obsessed royalty. He can't help falling in love with the cute soccer player in his literature class, either. Even if he's supposed to be off limits.
• This captures the feel of the movie just right and Viktor is a mess, it’s just so cute.
esnake artist by sizhu (@sizhu)
Neighbors AU, Rated T, 1K
Yuuri meets the disarmingly attractive neighbor from upstairs, courtesy of Phichit forgetting to feed their scale baby.
Snakes like to go on adventures, too.
• Sassy Yuuri defending his reptile baby, a blessing.
all the types of dating by igneousbitch (@makkachinning)
Geology AU, Rated E, 8K
The only type of dating geologists are good at is radioactive carbon-dating. The rest goes completely over their heads.
(Viktor and Yuuri are geology professors leading a field course in Western Australia. Chaos ensues.)
Alfred shifts awkwardly. Looks at Viktor and Yuuri, and asks, “So, uh. Are you guys dating?”
Yuuri greatly misunderstands, and Viktor panics.
Of course we are, Yuuri says. Rather critically, he thinks to himself: why else would he be here, in the scorching, godforsaken heat, surrounded by a hundred kilos of rock, if not for the purpose of radiometric dating?
• I have no idea about geology and I still enjoyed this AU a lot, they’re pining so hard and ugh friends to lovers, my kryptonite.
Unconventional by so_shhy
Fandom AU, Rated M, 4K
After freezing up in front of his idol at a comic con panel, Yuuri decides that he needs an awful lot of alcohol to get over the embarrassment. It is a decision he will regret.
The fandom AU I can’t believe I wrote, featuring movie star!Victor Nikiforov and fanfic author!Yuuri Katsuki.
• So much second hand embarrassment but in a fun way, just brilliant.
If you can't take the heat... by mtothedestiel (@summersteve)

Coming Home Again by carafin (@carafinn)
Roommates AU, Rated T, 10K
Yuuri, given to periodic bouts of paranoia, would often wonder if Viktor is, in fact, a Russian drug lord on the loose, seeking refuge in a nondescript town in America. This would explain a manner of things: his evasiveness whenever probed about his job; the way he’d unpredictably throw out incisive, thoughtful commentary about the morning news over breakfast; his expensive tastes in shirts, watches, and wallets alike; why he’d want to stay here with Yuuri, of all places, when the contents his wardrobe alone could probably afford him a year-long stay at any condominium of his choice in the trendiest part of town.
And then he goes on to discover that Viktor actually has a premium account on club penguin, and that his five penguins are named Peanut Wigglebutt, Luke skyhopper, Zing Zing, Otto Von Longdong, and Mooshoo Vegetable, and beats the idea to death in his head.
• High quality hyper realistic amazing Yuuri the medical student being a mess, Viktor being a mystery but still a dork. Cute romance!!

So this has been sitting in my drafts for so long, that I forgot I even created the list, but here is a list of Makkachin headcanons I created!
(note: At the 2017 Anime Expo panel, Kubo said that Makkachin is most likely a girl, referring to her as so but then jokingly stating that it was "confidential.") We’re going with this though despite all my times referring to Makka a boy.
Makkachin has been with Victor her whole life, ever since she was a pup.
Victor got her from a close friend, who he often visited that it was like he lived with them.
Makkachin was apart of a litter of three, she was the youngest, and Victor fell in love with her instantly upon her birth.
this post by autumnalexistence
Victor spoiled her rotten when he was finally allowed to take Makkachin away with him. He gave her large doggy beds, gave her a ton of treats that wouldn’t fit in her small mouth, and gave her so many dog toys.
Makkachin became very pampered, and Victor cannot bring himself to regret it because he loves Makkachin too much.
When Victor had to skate, he sometimes brought Makkachin, but it proved to be very troublesome as Makkachin was still young and had to learn not to run onto the ice after Victor. Luckily she never got hurt.
All the other skaters came to love Makkachin.
Mila loved to show off Makkachin to her friends, and she often took pictures of herself with her.
(This was all her Instagram pictures were for two weeks.)
Yurio won’t admit it, but he secretly has a ton of pictures of Makkachin as a puppy and says “if I think hard enough, they’re like an overly excited kitten”
Someone: *Swears in front of Makkachin*
Victor (and literally anyone else): *LOUD GASP, COVERING MAKKACHIN’S EARS AND LEADING HER AWAY*
Later.
Makkachin: *annoyed scoff as she lays her head down*
Victor (and literally anyone else): *LOUD GASP, ATTACKING “SOMEONE"*
Victor adored Makkachin; enough that he would have a full blown out photo shoot with his dog, and he does. He lets the world know that he loves his dog.
Christophe somehow involved himself in some of these shoots.
It broke his heart the first time Victor had to leave Makkachin alone for a competition away from home, not alone-alone, without him alone. Victor didn’t want to leave his dog.
The person who owned the mother of Makkachin took care of Makka whenever Victor is away. Makkachin is close with her mother, who had grown old during the 5 years Makka was taken by Victor.
Victor’s friend puts on the junior world championship for Makkachin, who gets excited at the mention of Victor, and jumps off the couch to look closely at the TV, paws on the table stand, barking in excitement.
Victor’s friend always takes videos of Makkachin watching the screen closely and posts them on Instagram for Victor to see.
Victor sees them and one time on an article, it mentions that Victor was seen crying at the end of a competition, and how people were surprised that he was crying over a video of his dog and not a lover who broke up with him.
The first time Makkachin and Victor were apart and got back together, it was like a cinematic movie scene where you see one character run towards the other and it’s just in slow motion and it’s all bright and cheery and perfect; except for the part where Victor got the wind knocked out of him because Makkachin jumped right at him and Victor was unprepared, falling back on impact with a happy dog jumping all over him, licking his face in pure joy at his return.
Victor’s friend also got a video of this and posted it on Instagram with the caption of ‘reunited with his true love’.
Christophe and Victor dated for a while, and it’s kinda dramatic. Not in a bad way, but in the end Victor broke up with him because he had the suspicion that Christophe only dated him for his dog.
Chris: Is Makkachin here?
Victor: Yeah, she’s laying on the couch right now.
Chris: Can I take her for a walk?
Victor: Sure, I’ll come along!
Chris: Are you sure? It’s cold out there, Victor. I mean, you live in Russia, but still cold, I’ll take her for you.
Victor: Chris, I feel like you love my dog more than you love me
Chris: What makes you say that? *Christophe starts leading Makkachin out the door*
Victor: Chris, don’t take my dog-
Chris: I’m only taking her for a walk!
Victor: Christophe, CHRISTOPHE STOP--- STOP RUNNING AWAY WITH MY DOG--
Chris: MAKKACHIN, RUN!
Years continue to pass, Makkachin’s mother dies of old age, and Makkachin is saddened by it because she still goes to Victor old friend’s house whenever Victor is away. His friend who is now married to a woman.
There are more puppies there though! So there’s a lot of new friends for her to play with.
Victor comes home from Sochi and is beaming with joy from his encounter with Yuuri. Previously he was very quiet, not really talking about anybody to Makkachin asides from the friend that he would leave Makka with, but now their home has become loud with Victor’s happiness.
Of course, that doesn’t last long because a year passes and during that time, Victor grows quiet again.
Victor decides to take a year off, because of his wish to be with Makkachin during her old age.
That is until he watches Yuuri’s perfect replicate of his free skate, “Stay Close to Me”, and Victor gets loud again, telling Makkachin that he’s going to go there to coach him.
He takes Makkachin with him, going through the trouble to get Makkachin there as soon as possible.
When they do get there, it takes a while for Yuuri to notice them, but Makkachin sure does make him notice by jumping on him excitedly.
Victor starts training Yuuri, and Makkachin is left alone with Yuuri’s family. She gets along with Mari and Hiroko. Sometimes Toshiya, who compares her to Vicchan and gives her some pets
Hiroko doesn’t mind whenever Makkachin follows her, she just hopes that Makkachin doesn’t jump on the guests when she gets a little too excited
However, with Mari, Makkachin is an angel
(Makkachin is always an angel)
Steamed buns become Makka’s favorite treat, Mari sometimes gives her some whenever she's been good but in small pieces.
Eventually, Yuuri and Victor leave for competitions away from Japan, and although Victor originally wanted a break to be with Makkachin, he trusts Yuuri’s family with his dog and knows that they’ll be kind to her.)
Victor’s friend jokingly calls him and asks if he’s been replaced in watching Makkachin, but there are no hard feelings.
Makkachin switches between sleeping in Victor’s room and Yuuri’s because she loves them both and it means more cuddles.
Mari takes a lot of pictures of Makkachin whenever she can and sends them to Victor and Yuuri.
Minako likes to take Makkachin on walks whenever she’s over and whenever Mari is too busy to do it herself.
Makkachin gets along with the triplets, although they like to use her for advertisements sometimes... On Victor’s permission.
The yearly annual meeting of Victor and Christophe
Victor: You uh.. ready to apologize for almost stealing my dog?
Christophe: No, and I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for the doorman.
Victor (to himself): And he proceeds to be a true hero to this day...
On goes the events, Mari finally gives them that one call that makes Victor and Yuuri worry
Victor returns home on his own at the request of Yuuri, who is worried about Makkachin and not wanting for Victor to have the same experience as him with Vicchan
Makkachin turns out fine. Victor gets home and doesn’t leave Makkachin’s side for hours, filled with regret and worry for leaving his dog and not keeping his promise to spend the year off with her.
Yuuri returns home later on, and he also doesn’t leave Makkachin’s side for hours, both Yuuri and Victor are practically glued to her, but she doesn’t seem to mind because she’s getting a lot of attention and love from them.
Mari feels bad about it, but Victor has reassured her that it was okay and that he’s glad Makkachin survived.
Makkachin isn’t allowed a full steam bun in one go anymore. If she’s given one, it has to be cut into two pieces.
Victor goes about spoiling her again.
She doesn’t use the doggy pillows at night because she always sleeps with Victor and Yuuri anyways.
Victor follows a few Instagram accounts dedicated to Makkachin.
He also leaves comments when people say “I’d die for Makkachin to be immortal”
“Makkachin would want for you to live”
“Makkachin loves you too!”
“Makkachin believes in you!”
Victor also has an account dedicated to Makkachin, and he loves it.
Some videos also include Yuuri, who is mostly just relaxing and petting Makkachin
Victor’s favorite video has Yuuri laugh-crying on the floor, begging for Makkachin to come back and cuddle with him. Pan up to Makkachin’s form disappearing behind a doorway.

Hitsuzen
Here is another preview of fics to vote for.
Summary: Yuri Plisetsky has always seen strange things and odd spirits often follow him around. One day he stumbles into an odd shop that grants wishes run by a strange man named Victor Nikiforov. Will Victor grant his wish and what will be the price?
Pairings: Yuri/Otabek, Yuuri/Victor, with Yuri crushing on Yuuri
...Yes this is an xxxHolic AU where Yuri P is Watanuki, Victor is Yuuko, Yuuri K is Himawari and Otabek is Doumeki (yes, you read that right now go think about that; if you haven’t read the manga then it’s okay, don’t worry. Everything will be fine. Probably)
Edit: you can now vote for this to be the next fic I write here!
The world is a large place full of wonderful and terrifying things. Humans walk proudly through it, arrogantly thinking they know all of its secrets when they haven’t even scratched the surface. Because even those who know some of Fate’s secrets know that they can’t change their own fate.
But most importantly, they know that there are no such things as coincidences. There is only Hitsuzen.
It was a gloomy morning and it was made even worse by that thing. That thing, which, for some reason, no one could see but him. It followed him down the street, floating a few meters off the ground.
It probably had a name, but thing was all it was going to get from him.
Describing it required a good look and that probably meant going mad as well. And he wasn’t going to go mad. He was already really angry. Going mad would only make everything worse. So he could only describe it (if anyone ever forced him to) as a big disgusting, foul thing, as something unnatural in all meanings of the word.
And Yuri Plisetsky was well acquainted with the unnatural. Unfortunately, he was much better acquainted with it than he would have liked.
No one else could see it. Why couldn’t anyone else see it? Why was he the only one cursed to see it? Why couldn’t he also be oblivious to it? Seeing it didn’t exactly give him any special abilities.
“Aargh!” he screamed, the sound of his voice filling the street. “Why do you have to follow me?”
But shouting didn’t help either. He stumbled down the street, feeling his knees give out under him. He caught the gatepost of a house just as he thought he would pass out.
And the foul thing vanished.
He looked up and stared in amazement at the house before him.
Yuri was in a normal street, or, at least, up until that moment he thought he was in a normal street. Now he wasn’t so sure. There were regular-looking houses all down the street, mostly identical to each other. Nothing about any of them was exceptionally memorable.
Except this house.
It was an odd house and that was the biggest understatement imaginable. It was made of dark wood. There was a crescent moon on its roof. The gates, which were made from the same wood as the house, somehow contrived to look more solid and menacing than the stone gates of the other houses.
Whatever, he thought, I don’t care. I just want –
And even though he could’ve sworn he told his legs to go away, they marched on, completely without any input from him whatsoever down the path that led right to the front door of the house.
He tried to stop. He tried to fight this sudden impulse of walking into odd places, but all with no luck.
They carried him onwards to the house.
“Stop it!” he shouted at his legs (and knew deep inside that it was a sure sign of impending madness). “It’s rude to walk into people’s houses without their permission!”
It was a stupid thing to shout, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that it didn’t work.
His legs took him right up to the front door where three identical-looking girls stepped out to greet him.
“Welcome to the shop!” they exclaimed in unison with serious looks on their faces.
And then the serious looks vanished and they burst out into an excited chorus of “A customer! A customer!” They were almost tripping over themselves and each other in excitement.
They grabbed Yuri by the arms and, before he’d even had time to realize what they were doing, before he could turn and run from this mad place, they dragged him inside.
The inside of the house was just as odd as the outside, but the three girls didn’t give him a lot of time to study his surroundings, or even think about the recurring image of the crescent moon: they dragged him into one of the rooms, where his attention was captured fully by someone else.
There was a man in this room. He’d draped himself lazily (and way too dramatically, in Yuri’s opinion) over a red couch, a smile on his face and a pipe in his hand. He was in a red and yellow kimono that only added to how dramatic his pose was. His icy blue eyes regarded Yuri with disinterest, as if to say “oh, there you are at last; isn’t that nice?”
Yuri, who’d been close to his breaking point for the past ten minutes, snapped. “What the hell is this weird place?”
“It’s a shop!” the triplets exclaimed. “Yeah! A shop!”
The lazy figure on the couch watched him without a word.
The triplets went quiet and a complete silence settled over the room and its inhabitants. There was no ticking of a clock and no sounds came from the street.
The man got up and reached Yuri in several long strides. He tower over him. “This is a shop that grants wishes,” he said, taking Yuri’s chin in his hand. “If you’re here, it means you have a wish.”
Yuri pushed him away. “Don’t touch me! What the hell is the problem with you? Do you just lure people in here to sell them your crap?”
“No. I just told you: this shop grants wishes. You’re not a very clever young man, are you?”
“So anyone can march in here, demand anything and get it?” Yuri asked. As if I will believe that!
The strange man chuckled. “For a price. This is a shop, after all. For the right price, any wish can be granted.”
“Any wish?” Yuri repeated incredulously.
He nodded. “Yes, but some wishes come at a very high price and would cost you your soul.”
“Soul?” he backed away.
“Yes.” The strange man circled Yuri. “Your coming here was no coincidence, no accident. It was Hitsuzen!”
Yuri swallowed nervously, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down the side of his face. “Hitsuzen?” he repeated.
“Hitsuzen - a naturally foreordained event. A state in which other outcomes are impossible. A result which can only be obtained by a single causality, and all other causalities would necessarily create different results. So reads the Kodansha Japanese desk dictionary, second edition.” The strange man paused with a smile.
Yuri stared at him with his mouth slightly open. “What the hell?” he demanded as the meaning of the last sentence sank in.
The man chuckled, no doubt pleased by this terrible joke.
“What is your name?” he asked, draping himself over the couch again.
“Yuri Plisetsky,” he answered.
“And your birthday?”
“M-March 1st,” Yuri answered.
The strange man burst out laughing. “What sort of person tells a stranger their real name and birthday?”
“What?” Yuri demanded, his fists clenching.
“My name is Victor Nikiforov,” the strange man said, wrapping his arms around the triplets as they circled him. “It’s a fake name, of course.” He kissed the forehead of one of the triplets. “And these are my assistants in the shop: Axel, Lutz and Loop. Aren’t they the cutest names you ever heard?”
“No! What the hell is the matter with you?” What’s the deal with him? And what do I say to that? I need to get the hell out of here! He turned to go, but Victor was there right in front of him.
“Like I said, you being here means that you have a wish and that I must grant it,” he said, taking Yuri’s chin in his hand again.
“Let go of me, you pervert!” Yuri exclaimed, pushing him away.
Victor stepped back. “Do you have a watch?”
“Hm? What?” He searched around in his pocket and pulled out an old watch. “It’s a family heirloom,” he said, handing it over to Victor. “My grandfather handed it down to me from his father.”
“Yuri Plisetsky,” Victor whispered and threw down a little circle that expanded in size. Yuri wasn’t sure where it came from. It looked like Victor had pulled it out of his sleeve. Victor stared into it as if hypnotized. “Yuri Plisetsky… birthday March first. You lost your parents when you were small. You live with your grandfather now. Your future is very uncertain, but you are hard-working and independent, which might help you deal with anything that comes your way. Or it might only make things worse. You have a big trouble, caused by your blood.”
Yuri stepped back. He hadn’t been prepared to hear his fortune read out like this.
Victor went on, as if in a trance. “Your blood lets you see creatures that few humans can see. Unfortunately, this means that they’re all attracted to you.”
The circle was gone and Victor pocketed Yuri’s watch. “I’ll grant your wish,” he said.
“Give me back my watch, you idiot!” Yuri demanded.
“It’s not your watch anymore,” Victor told him. “I’ve taken it as payment for reading your fortune.” He put an arm around Yuri’s shoulders. “You live only with your grandfather, which means…” He leaned in close to Yuri’s ear, as if about to whisper some great secret, “…that you’re very good at housework, right?”
“Yes,” Yuri agreed, confused at the speed at which they jumped from wishes and his fortune to housework.
“Excellent!” Victor exclaimed, stepping away and giving Yuri a big grin with a clap of his hands. “That will be your payment: from now on you will do all of the housework around here.”
“What?”
“You will work in this shop until I say it’s enough and then I will grant your wish!” Victor announced.
When the hell did I agree to this? Yuri demanded as the triplets danced happily around him, singing the word “housework” over and over again.
At some point during the evening he’d walked into hell itself and now he wondered if there was a way back to the land of the normal and the sane.
He wondered the same thing the next afternoon as he stuffed his things into his school bag. It was the end of yet another uneventful school day. He only wished the afternoon could be equally uneventful.
“That man is insane,” he muttered to himself, “and that store of his is as mad as he is. How much junk can one person keep? And how long will I have to deal with this crap? Ughh! And now I have to go back there!”
“Go back where?” another voice asked.
“To that stupid store of his, of course!” he answered without thinking.
He froze, realizing that not only was he complaining aloud, but that there was another person joining in. He raised his head and met the eyes of the most perfect being in existence.
Yuuri Katsuki.
He felt his heart melt and all thoughts of creepy men in strange shops went out the window.
Yuuri Katsuki – the best person in all the world, his classmate and his crush. He was tall, dark-haired and handsome. He was the best at everything. He was kind and just being in his presence was enough to make the day better.
“Did you get a job in a shop?” Yuuri asked, giving him a smile brighter than the sun.
Yuri pulled himself together. He did what he always did and fell back on his hostile attitude. “Yeah and what’s it to you?” he asked.
“Y-you’re right,” Yuuri said. “It’s none of my business. It was wrong of me to listen in.” He turned away, looking as if someone had hit him.
Why do you have to be such a pushover? Yuri wondered. If anyone else had done it, it would’ve pissed him off to no end and it would’ve been enough for Yuri to consider them a loser and hate them for all eternity.
But this was Yuuri Katsuki. And everything he did was perfect.
“I… I just meant,” he racked his brains for a good excuse, “it’s awkward that I have to work in a shop.” What a lame excuse!
Yuuri turned around with a smile. “There’s nothing wrong with that! What kind of a shop is it? Maybe I can visit it sometime?”
He had a terrible image then of innocent Yuuri in the clutches of that strange Victor who would try to steal his soul in exchange for the promise of granting him some wish.
“No! It’s a horrible shop!” Yuri protested. “You won’t like it at all!”
And then he wondered if Yuuri had a wish. Not a small, silly wish, but a big wish that only Victor could grant.

With the anime thing: yuri on ice
haven’t heard of it | absolutely never watching | might watch | currently watching | dropped | hated it | meh | a positive okay | liked it | liked it a lot! | loved it
a favorite | don’t watch period | drop if not interested within 2-3 episodes | give it a go, could be your thing | 5 star recommendation
(From this post)
My favorite characters were actually side characters, like Phichit Chulanont and Otabek Altin. I’m a sucker for the good best friend characters. Of course, I know there’s a lot of people who ship Otabek and Yuri Plisetski, but I appreciated that he asked Yuri if they could be friends. Also, I liked Seung-gil Lee because I thought he would be a neat Korean character, but he got so little screentime...
My least favorite characters were actually Georgi Popovich and the Nishigori Triplets. I went into Yuri on Ice!!! expecting something more serious, and these characters were too style-breakingly comical for me.
My favorite relationship is actually the strong friendship between Yuuri and Phichit. Their facetiming at random hours and how they learned the basics of each others native languages is precious to me, and I like how the fact that they’re technically competing against each other doesn’t negatively impact their friendship in any significant way.
My favorite moment from the show was in episode 7 where Victor doesn’t know how to relieve Yuuri’s anxiety and bluffs that he’ll step down as Yuuri’s coach, causing Yuuri to break into tears. I thought that was a good character moment for both of them, and if you know me at all, you know that I love emotional extremes in fiction. Yuuri’s anxiety, betrayal, and frustration, along with Victor’s bewildered floundering, was very good for me.
An unpopular opinion... hm... that Yuri on Ice!!! wasn’t incredible? I enjoyed it at the time of watching and appreciated it for breaking new ground, but story and animation-wise, it could have done better. It definitely didn’t deserve to win the 2016 Crunchyroll Anime Award for Best Animation (#mobwasrobbed). Story-wise, it would have benefited from more episodes and a more leisurely schedule for the production team. I can see the show it wanted to be, and it tried very hard to get there, and I do believe that this was the best product that the staff could put out under their given circumstances.
How I found it, actually, was that I was following MAPPA very closely after Zankyou no Terror. I saw the first trailers for it and fell in love with the concept of a figure-skating anime and god, I adored the trailer music. However, I had a completely different idea of what the show was going to be like, so needless to say, Yuri on Ice!!! took me a little by surprise. It was far less angsty and more light-hearted than the serious, hyper-competitive anime I had imagined. I still want my angsty one, but this was good too.
Random thoughts of mine about the show are just that I really enjoyed the show at the time of viewing, but now that months have passed, I don’t feel very strongly about it anymore. I’m still more in love with the trailer than the resulting anime, but that’s just because I had conjured this full storyline in my head (involving intense rivalry, no romance, someone acquiring a leg injury at an inopportune time, media pressure, etc.) but that’s just because Yuri on Ice!!! is supposed to be a feelgood show, and it’s more of a relationship anime than a sports anime. I would very much like to see another figure skating anime that focuses more on the harsh, athletic realities of the sport sometime.

Writing Tips - YOI Edition
I decided to start my little series of writing tips with a Yuri On Ice specific post because that’s the fandom I’m most familiar with. While I’ll make examples from the anime, keep in mind that most of these things can be taken in a more general way and applied to other fandoms as well.
These are only tips and if you don’t follow them that’s perfectly fine, your fanfiction is valid.
LANGUAGES:
Different characters speak different languages with each other, and implementing that in your fic can make it feel more realistic. That doesn’t mean that you have to include a full dialogue in a language other than the one of your fic (although a few words thrown here and there like terms of endearment are always good, and even a couple of full sentences are fine, just remember to translate them in the notes), but there are ways to show this even if you don’t do that. Simply have your POV character hear a dialogue and not understanding it, and asking about it later (or just wondering about it in their head). Another small thing is to not have the POV character be surprised by this (unless for very specific reasons): they’re used to being in international environments and to hearing different languages being spoken by other skaters, so it’s usually not a big deal to them.
Another tip is to understand what being bilingual (or tri- or multilingual) means. We don’t randomly start mixing two languages. The only instance where I’ve had that happen to me is when for some reason a word in one of the language I speak has to be in my sentence, then it might happen that I actually keep talking in that language.
Example:
“Gli ho detto che è bravo nel multitasking, and like-”
As you can see, the “and like” is some of those things we’re used to saying to connect sentences (like “you know” and other stuff), so it’s something easy to slip into if we’ve just said a word in English. You also see I stopped the sentence there because that’s what I feel happens, you don’t go on speaking in a different language for ten minutes, you usually notice right away and stop yourself.
That’s a very specific example of course, but what will mostly happen in your fic is that a character will switch back and forth effortlessly.
Examples:
Yuuri is talking to Victor in English, then his mom brings them homemade katsudon and Yuuri thanks her and holds a short conversation with her in Japanese. Then he goes back to speaking to Victor.
Yuri and Otabek are speaking on skype in Russian. Otabek’s sister enters his room and asks him in Kazakh to help her with her homework, and he tells her (in Kazakh) that he’ll be right there, then he proceeds to explain Yuri what happened in Russian and they say goodbye and hang up.
Yuri and Victor are talking at the rink in Russian, then Yuuri skates towards him, and both Yuri and Victor switch to English to include Yuuri in the conversation.
Who speaks what language:
Generally speaking, all skaters interact in English.
Victor, Yuri, Mila, Georgi, Yakov, Lilia, Nikolai all speak Russian among each other. They might use English around other people if they don’t want to be rude to them, but in general they’ll have a tendency to keep speaking in Russian to each other, no matter how fluent in English they are.
Victor speaks fluent French as well as Russian and English, so it’s safe to believe that he and Chris speak French when they communicate.
Looking at the Japanese side of things, Yuuri, Yuuko (probably her husband too), Minako and Mari all speak fluent English, contrary to Yuuri’s parents who don’t appear to speak it at all. The triplets are 6 years old so they most definitely only speak Japanese. I headcanon that Minami doesn’t really speak a good English since he doesn’t appear to have competed much or at all outside of Japan, but I don’t think we have enough info about him so do what you want with him.
Otabek’s first language is Kazakh. It uses the same alphabet as Russian but it’s a different thing, but Kazakhs generally learn Russian and Otabek is definitely fluent in it. He’s also lived in the US and in Canada so he’s fluent in English as well. When he interacts with Yuri you should keep in mind that they’re speaking Russian.
Of course, when writing post-canon, it’s entirely possible and even very likely that the couples (or even friends, for example Yuuri and Phichit probably learned a little of Thai and Japanese respectively) pick up each other’s languages. Victor will learn Japanese, Yuuri will learn Russian, Emil will learn Italian. I headcanon that in some couples only one of them will learn the other’s language (for example I don’t think it’d be very useful for Yuri to learn more than a little basic Kazakh), but that’s absolutely up to you.
Another thing I personally like to do in my fanfics whenever there’s characters with different nationalities is to remind the reader that everyone has different accents. You don’t have to point it out in every sentence, but even just doing it once in your whole fic will make it feel, once again, more realistic. Another accent fun fact: at the beginning it’s hard to understand an accent you’ve never heard before, but it gets easier the more you keep hearing it. Try to think of ways to show that in your fanfic if that’s something you want to do.
NICKNAMES:
Another important aspect in YOI is the use of nicknames, like Yurio or Katsudon. The thing is, not everyone uses them, and not in every context. If you want to use them in a fic and be true to canon, learn who uses them and why.
Yurio
is a nickname given by Mari to Yuri P. to avoid confusion between him and her brother Yuuri. Yuuri, Victor and Yuuri’s family and friends are the only ones using it. Yuri hates it. He wouldn’t use it for himself, so avoid using it in your fic unless:
the characters I mentioned above are talking to him
one of the characters above is also the POV character (especially if it’s first person)
Yuri himself is complaining about it
Especially avoid using it when:
it’s Yuri’s POV
it’s the POV of someone close to Yuri or who knew Yuri before canon (like his grandpa, Yakov, Mila, etc)
it’s Otabek’s POV. He’s his friend (or more) and he would use his given name (unless for some reason he wanted to annoy him - which he probably would at some point lol)
Yura/Yurochka
I don’t feel educated enough to talk about this myself, I could only say what I saw in the anime but you should definitely read this post because it’s well done and explains who would call Yuri Yura or Yurochka.
Katsudon
Only Yuri calls Yuuri Katsudon (sometimes he switches it for pig). Victor called Yuuri little piglet or something at the beginning of canon, but definitely doesn’t do it later on.
(Beka)
This is not canon yet, but it’s a really widespread nickname for Otabek within the fandom, that only Yuri (or Otabek’s family) uses.
In general, I think nicknames rub off on the people we talk to. So for example, when I write Otayuri I sometimes have Otabek think of Yuuri as “Katsudon”. Why? Because at least at the beginning he would only hear Yuri talk about him, and Yuri would refer to him with that nickname. He would probably not call Yuuri like that directly in a dialogue, but that’s all just speculation. I just added this bit because I think it’s one of the many ways to both build someone’s characterization and show instead of telling the kind of relationship two characters have.

hi, sorry if this is a dumb question but, it's revealed that viktor was in love yuuri the whole time in that one episode where it reveals yuuri doesnt remember that one night, and before that they got rings. did they actually get engaged is that what yuuri really meant when he bought those rings ??? and when did they actually start dating?? im a lil confused. especially abt when their relationship turned romantic
Hi anon!!! Not a dumb question at all! All of the things you asked about, I’m afraid, are pretty subjective, but here’s the timeline of Victor and Yuuri’s relationship as I see it. Also, I’d like to note that I’m not going to fill in the gaps (i.e. assume their first kiss was before The Kiss™), I’m just going with what’s canon.
The Victuuri Timeline
PRE - EPISODE 1
Victor is on top of the skating world and has lost inspiration. Yuuri has lost the GPF because of his anxiety and is ashamed of himself.
The Sochi Banquet Scene (Episode 10) - Yuuri dances with Victor and asks him to be his coach. Victor is enamored at first sight because Yuuri is bright and blazing and beautiful. He hears Yuuri’s request and the idea starts as a spark in his mind.
EPISODE 1
Yuuri skates to Victor’s routine, Stammi Vicino (Stay Close to Me) and the triplets record it.
Victor sees the video and decides to be Yuuri’s coach. He does this because he remembers how he’d felt during the banquet and because “he skates like his body is creating music.”
Victor shows up at the onsen, Yuuri essentially rejects him because he’s Shook™.
At this point in the show, we’re working with two types of love that are not the final product. Victor is infatuated with Yuuri, but he knows next to nothing about him. Yuuri, on the other hand, knows everything about Victor’s public persona, but knows nothing about his private persona. They’re in love with the idea of each other.
EPISODES 2-3
Yuri Plisetsky shows up, blah blah blah. They decide to have a Yuri vs. Yuuri competition, and Yuuri decides that if he wins, he wants Victor to remain in Japan as his coach.
This point is an underrated development in their relationship – it’s less of a desperate fanboy moment and more real.
Yuuri is starting to see glimpses of Victor’s personality and the hero-worship dynamic is beginning to be broken down.
Yuuri is assigned the theme of “Eros” (sexual love) and Yuri is assigned “Agape.” They both wanted the opposite.
The fact that Yuuri skates to Eros, ultimately comprehends the routine (although he does so by thinking of pork cutlet bowls, which is character-building but that’s another story), and wins the competition proves one thing: Victor Nikiforov, despite his lack of experience as a coach, manages to bring out the best in him.
They’re no longer strictly in love with the idea of each other. Now, they’re getting to know each other on a deeper level. I would personally say that their relationship is not ‘romantic’ yet, although it’s certainly on that path.
EPISODES 4-5
Victor encourages Yuuri to select the music for his free skate, something that he didn’t have the confidence to do in the past.
This shows that Victor allows Yuuri to feel more confident in his decisions through encouragement and support, and once again proves that Victor brings out the best in him.
During a competition, Victor tells Yuuri to lower the difficulty of his jumps and Yuuri doesn’t listen. This brings into account the theme of surprise in their relationship, something that is addressed pretty often.
Yuuri declares his theme for the season to be love.
This is personally when I would consider their relationship developing into something romantic. Yuuri’s theme isn’t about love for Victor’s public playboy personality, it’s about love for Victor the person, for Victor his friend, for Victor his coach.
Meanwhile, something that is persisting throughout every episode but that is more subtle is the fact that Yuuri is bringing out the best in Victor. You don’t necessarily notice it until more information is given about Victor’s internal state  in later episodes, but Yuuri is surprising him, offering him a vicarious love of the ice that he hadn’t known in a long time due to his lack of inspiration.
EPISODES 6-7
Yuuri skates his short program trying to convince everyone that he’s worthy of having Victor Nikiforov as his coach. This is partially because of his own insecurities (he needs to prove it to himself, in a way). This comes back into play later in Yuuri’s character development, but that’s not what this is about.
Victor makes Yuuri cry in the garage. Yuuri’s line about “wanting Victor to have more faith in him than he does in himself” is representative, once again, of Victor having the potential to bring out the best in him.
This scene is mostly character-building for the both of them, but it’s also relationship-building because it’s the first time that Victor has come face to face with the ugly brute that is Yuuri’s anxiety.
They kiss!!!!!!!
I feel like that’s pretty self-explanatory honestly
So yeah, definitely romantic at this point lol.
EPISODES 8-9
Victor returns to Japan because of Makkachin, blah blah Yuuri skates.
The infamous airport reunion scene happens.
The most important aspect of this scene is a small exchange of dialogue. Yuuri says, “Please by my coach until I retire,” and Victor replies with “I wish you’d never retire.”
If that isn’t love I don’t know what is ok?? Pretty self-explanatory line, but I think it also demonstrates that Victor has come to love Yuuri for more than his skating and more than his killer thighs. He’s wholeheartedly in love with every aspect of him, anxiety and all.
EPISODE 10
This episode, which is partially narrated by Victor, gives a lot of insight to his character, and by extension the significance of his meeting with Yuuri at the Sochi GPF Banquet (which I talked about in the Pre-Ep 1 section of this long-winded rant).
Yuuri buys the rings.
He does not intend for them to be engagement rings.
Instead, he buys them as a gift of gratitude for Victor.
Victor declares that the rings are engagement rings and that they’ll marry once Yuuri wins the GPF.
Now, Victor has always been a dramatic character. Also, they’re both complete in love at this point.
Like I said, surprises are a big theme in their relationship, so I think they both pulled off surprises in this episode – Yuuri buying the rings and Victor changing the meaning of the rings.
Yuuri’s shock in regards to Victor saying this isn’t disapproval, it’s surprise and more of a like oh-my-god-what-are-you-doing-I-may-not-win sort of thing.
If you think about it, Victor essentially just said to a table of Yuuri’s competitors, “lol I’ma marry this boy once he kicks all of your butts.” So Yuuri is part shook by that, because he doesn’t want to upset anyone or make them think he’s assuming he’ll win, and partially because…. He’s engaged to the love of his life now?
EPISODES 11-12
The “Let’s End This” scene in the hotel occurs. Victor cries and looks beautiful while doing so.
The significance for their relationship in this scene is that Yuuri recognized the way Victor was watching the ice and assumed that he wanted to go back to skating.
However, he underestimated how much Victor enjoys being his coach (because he is, after all, an unreliable narrator).
They end up deciding that Yuuri will continue to skate, and Victor will be his coach and skate on his own.
They pair skate, and it’s beautiful.
~
Sorry about this rant anon, I’m sure this isn’t what you wanted hahaha. I hope I explained though when I believe their relationship turned romantic and the meaning of the rings from either of their perspectives.
As for when they started dating, I would say never.
They’re in love, yes, and they’re romantically involved, yes, but the way I see it, their relationship never really was at the “dating” stage. It runs deeper than that because of the way their love developed (from being in love with the idea of each other to being in love with each other).
Their relationship, as opposed to your typical linear relationship development in most shows, started deep. As deep as it could. They didn’t meet and go on a date and get each other’s phone numbers, they started in bad places and brought out the best in each other. It was a natural development, but they were never at the dating stage – they were too invested from the very beginning to do that.
However, like I said at the beginning of this ridiculous post (I’m sorry again for how long this is), these are just my opinions! I’m sure other people interpreted scenes very, very differently, so take this with a grain of salt!

so...a Victuuri version of that Adam Scott, Mark Hamill clip needs to happen y/y?
“38.7 million views in 24 hours. Do you know what that means? You beat Adele. You beat the Avengers. You beat that Psy video where he wears harem pants and pushes people off treadmills. You are in a very exclusive club, my friend.”
The audience laughs, and Yuuri should laugh too, but Kerry Washington’s skin is perfect and he can’t stop staring. And her teeth are so white that they don’t even look like teeth. It’s like when he was writing his thesis and spent so much time staring at the opening sentence of the discussion section that he had to check four times to make sure he spelled “the” right. There’s a name for that sort of brain malfunction, but hell if he knows what it is.
“I was told that your friend’s children were the ones responsible for uploading the video in the first place,” Kerry Washington goes on, propping her chin up with her fist. The studio lights catch the gold clasps of her bracelets. They look like they cost more than his entire existence is worth.
“I, uh,” Yuuri coughs a little and tugs at his collar. It’s so damn hot in here. For a second, he thinks seriously about passing out but he forces himself to rally. Otherwise, Mari will probably win a bet. “That’s right. My friend Yuuko’s six-year old triplets.”
“Normally I’d be upset that kids so young are going online unsupervised, but honestly, that routine, Yuuri. Even without music, it was maybe the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. The .7 million views were all me,” she says, grinning, inviting him to laugh along with the audience.
He does. It sounds like a hyena in its death throes. “Thanks. I’m… I can’t believe how big it got.”
Big enough that Jimmy Kimmel Live! called him up to invite him onto the show once the view count hit the 100 million mark. Yuuri only accepted because he has spent way too much time watching YouTube clips of the Kimmel-Damon feud to justify saying no. And both Phichit and Mari swore to disown him if he didn’t do it. And also he was super duper drunk.
They failed to mention that Kimmel would be on vacation and Olivia Pope would be guest hosting, though.
“According to one of your old interviews, you’re a big fan of Victor Nikiforov.”
He wishes he weren’t conditioned to smile like a bashful second grader at the mere mention of the man, but he’s accepted this as his his lot in life, so he doesn’t fight it when the smile comes. “Ah, yeah. You could say that.”
Kerry beams. “You are too adorable, Yuuri. Were you hoping he would see you skate his routine?”
Ducking his head, he picks at some lint on his suit leg and silently pleads with the studio light above him to fall and kill him. “I—no, it wasn’t—it’s just that…”
Maybe it’s because some producer backstage orders it or maybe it’s out of pity on the part of the studio, but he’s saved from answering when a picture flashes onto the giant monitors just beyond camera three. It’s a familiar one, plucked right out of its frame in the sitting room back home in Hasetsu: him at maybe 12-years old, wearing an oversized sweatshirt bearing a lilac fairy on it, cuddling Vicchan close to his shoulder.
The audience awww’s. His heart cramps and he swallows down a sudden but not unexpected wave of sorrow at the sight of such a simpler time. Before the disappointments. Before the anxiety. Before he left his one true friend to die without him.
“I’m being told that Victor Nikiforov also had a poodle.”
“Has,” Yuuri blurts out, because things aren’t bad enough. “Makkachin isn’t dead.”
He grits his teeth and forces a smile when the audience laughs at him, like he doesn’t know just how pathetic he is. Kerry reaches over and puts a perfect hand on his shoulder, squeezing reassuringly.
“So, you weren’t hoping your celebrity crush would see the video,” Kerry says again, voice kind. “Why skate it at all?”
It’s a prompt, an invitation to redeem himself by sharing this deep, fundamental secret with a bunch of random strangers and the millions watching at home, and he locks his knees to prevent himself from getting up and walking off the set. The love and admiration he has for Victor isn’t for public consumption, but at the same time he needs them to know that this isn’t some stupid crush, some twisted attempt at being noticed. The routine and its originator are just as much as part of him as his bad eyesight and weakness for his mother’s katsudon. Victor Nikiforov isn’t a whim; he’s essential.
They need to know.
“I…” He reaches for his glass of water on the desk and sips before trying again. “When I was a kid, Victor was… he was a goal. No, not—he gave me a goal. He gave me purpose beyond the little world I was born into. Most people don’t leave Hasetsu; I love it, and nowhere else will ever be quite home the way Hasetsu is, but Victor offered me a reason to look beyond it. Did I want to meet him? Sure. He was, after all, my celebrity crush. But more than that: I wanted to be worthy of meeting him. I wanted to earn my place on his ice, you know? He was the best, is the best, and for some little nobody from Nowhere, Japan to even qualify to be bright enough to share his light… he gave me a goal. He made me make myself better than what I was.” Yuuri draws a shaky breath, but the smile comes easily now. “I suppose I love him for that. Maybe that’s why I skated to Stay Close to Me. To thank him for being there for me all those years. For helping me be the person I wanted to be for him. And, um, for myself.”
For as long as he can remember, he’s prayed that the day would come when someone would just knock him out mid-ramble and save him from himself. Today, naturally, is not that day.
Silence, stunned and terrifying, is what he gets in reply, and somewhere in Hasetsu, right now, his parents are probably discussing the real possibility of committing ritual suicide to deal with the shame of having such a dipshit for a son.
But there comes a clap of thunder so sudden that he damn near jumps out of his skin. Except— it’s not thunder at all.
It’s applause.
The whole audience jumps to their feet and roars, and that’s all it takes for the rubber band that had been pulling taut in his chest from the moment they mic’d him up to snap in two, sending him into a fit of relieved, mortified laughter. Yuuri chances a look at Kerry, who wipes at her eyes, giggling.
“They said this stuff was waterproof,” she says with a wet sigh. “Yuuri, I can honestly say that—”
Somebody backstage must have knocked something over, because there comes a crash loud enough that even Kerry jumps, startled, followed by panicked shouting. Next to him, Kerry touches her ear where the producer must be telling her to cut to commercial or just end the segment before he says something else that will haunt him until the day he dies, but she gasps “It’s not time yet!” just as the doors through which Yuuri had entered the stage burst open.
Standing in the doorway, red-faced, chest heaving, and cheeks ruddy with fresh tears, is five-time world ice skating champion Victor Nikiforov.
Oh.
The audience explodes into shocked, delighted gasps.
“Why are you—Victor, this isn’t your cue!” Kerry cries, and Yuuri whips around to stare at her, because what?
“I don’t care,” Victor rasps. “I couldn’t wait a second longer. I had to see him.”
Yuuri whips back to stare at him, because what.
Somehow he musters up the courage to look Victor in the eye, and what he finds there shakes him down to his bones. There are no words for the way Victor Nikiforov is looking at him—not in any language, dead or otherwise. The only thing that might come close is the way the sunrise gazes at the sea when dawn breaks over Hasetsu, full of stoked flame and indescribable love. The smell of salt fills Yuuri’s nose, sharp, wet, and there are gulls calling in the depths of Victor’s stare.
Trembling, Yuuri finds the wherewithal to get to his feet and take a step forward.
It must look like permission, because Victor bursts into motion, stalking forward with single-minded purpose, and for a moment he’s a wave careening toward shore, coming to drag Yuuri into the pull of the tide, and Yuuri only has a moment to tilt his head up when—
Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Kiss Heard ‘Round The World racks up 149 million views in 24 hours.
“We beat that lady in the Chewbacca mask,” Jimmy Kimmel crows in his opening monologue the following Monday.

Happy Thursday
A continuation of my Yurio Catches Puberty story, the introduction and “index” of which is here.
Yuri's Angels Hasetsu Local Branch: Co-Presidents Axel, Lutz, and Loop
Realistically, the triplets were too young to be doing pretty much anything they ever did; Yuuri wouldn't have banked on any child of Takeshi Nishigori having more than an ounce of sense in them, but he charitably believed they'd had a near miss and gotten it from Yuko's side. And he tried to indulge them, because after all they were the ones who had filmed him without...his permission and uploaded it without...any thought for what might happen...
Actually he probably should still be mad at them about that. But, well, they were kids.
So was Yurio, something he was trying hard to remember during their first day of practice at Ice Castle. (There is a readmore below! Read more!)
"Can't you make them go away?" Yurio demanded, pulling up short in front of Yuuri and almost overbalancing. Yuuri braced him with a hand on his shoulder, then tried to pretend Yurio hadn't just snapped his teeth at the hand.
"Can you?" Yuuri asked.
"If I could would I be asking you?"
"They're not doing any harm," Yuuri pointed out. Yuko had given them a stern talking-to about recording people without their permission, and that at least seemed to have stuck. "They like you, Yuri."
"What the hell does that have to do with anything?" Yurio demanded.
Yuuri pinched the bridge of his nose. "When people like you, it's good to be friendly, so that they keep liking you."
"Why? What if they're evil? I don't want to be liked by evil assholes. I have to spend enough time with JJ at meets."
"JJ's not..."Yuuri started, but it was actually hard to get the words out. "Well, JJ is on his own journey," he said charitably.
"Yeah, a journey of being totally humiliated by me," Yurio said, self-satisfied for a moment, before realizing he'd been sidetracked. "Can you at least make them change their shirts?"
Yuuri glanced at the girls again. Two of them were wearing cat ears. All three had on homemade shirts that spelled out YU - RI - O when they stood in the right order. At the moment they were cheering on RI - YU - O.
The "O" shirt also had a cavorting kitten on it with Yurio's hairstyle.
It was probably a fair request.
"I'll do what I can," Yuuri said, "no promises."
Yurio skated off, nearly fell, righted himself, and did a double toe-loop of rage. Yuuri ambled his way over to the girls.
"Does Yurio have jet lag?" one of them asked, before he could say hello.
"Do you need us to bring you lunch?"
"Why does he keep tripping?"
"Will he do a combination if we ask?"
"Are you sure we can't film him?"
"Girls," Yuuri said. "I know you all love Yurio, but you're making him self-conscious. He's trying out some new things and it's hard to do that with people watching, you know?"
"Oooh," they chorused.
"Are you going to do a pairs skate with him like you did with Victor?" one asked.
"Are you going to do a pairs skate with him like he did with Otabek Altin?" another demanded.
"That wasn't really a pairs -- " Yuuri started, because he'd been trying to correct a lot of people that it wasn't a pairs skate if the only thing one person did was pull another person's glove off with his teeth, but every time the glove thing came up, peoples' eyes tended to glaze over. "Okay. Listen, you can wear the kitty ears, and you can stay and watch, but you have to go change your shirts."
"But we made them!"
"And they're delightful, but they're also very intimidating."
They scowled at him. Then one of them said thoughtfully, "What if we were cheering for YOU instead of Yurio?"
"Well, I wouldn't mind," Yuuri said in relief. "I like being cheered on!"
"O-KAY!" they chorused, and took off running. Yuuri, feeling as though he had really fixed something, finally, skated back out and started working on his spins. Yurio kept working on the far end of the ice, and they spent a companionable few hours ignoring each other before Yuuri realized it was definitely lunchtime.
"Come on, let's eat," he called to Yurio, and both of them were almost off the ice before Yurio looked up at the stands and made a choked-off laughing noise.
Yuuri raised his eyes, wondering what was so funny, and saw that the girls were now sitting in a new order; they had the exact same shirts on, but they had found a marker pen and modified two of them so that now it read
gO[cavortingkitten] - YuU - RI
Behind him, Yurio lost his balance and fell down on the ice laughing, so Yuuri left him there and thus got his pick of the bento lunches they'd brought with them from the hot springs.

To All The Skaters I’ve Loved Before
This is my very first foray into writing fanfiction. I don’t know if I’ll be able to complete the whole thing I have in mind for it, but I thought I’d at least try to write the first chapter and see how it goes.
Chapter One
Waiting for luggage is the worst. If everyone would stay a few feet back from the conveyor belt, it would be easy for anyone to spot their luggage coming and step forward to get it. Instead, everyone crowds close, jostling each other out of desperation to retrieve their belongings as quickly as possible, making the process more inefficient and unpleasant all around. Normally, Yuuri Katsuki makes sure to travel light enough to fit everything in a carry-on, to avoid this exact situation. But now, returning to his hometown after failing miserably at the Grand Prix Final, he’s stuck here, hovering at the edge of the crowd, waiting for all of his earthly possessions to be carelessly tossed down a chute. Finally, the mob has dispersed, and he sees his bags making their way forlornly around the curve. Taking them in hand, he turns and continues on to the next leg of his trip.
It’s mid-afternoon when he arrives in Hasetsu, but he finds himself blinking blearily and fighting sleep. That’s what he gets for blowing up his career and having to travel halfway around the world to lick his wounds, he supposes. Someone shouts his name and he jerks around to find the source. Minako is there, apparently waiting for him, leg extended behind her in a beautiful arabesque. He smiles in spite of himself. A dancer will always be a dancer… will a skater always be a skater?
“You didn’t have to come get me, Minako,” Yuuri says, mouth twisting. He is going to be enough of a burden on his family and friends in the coming months, he doesn’t need them acting as his chauffeurs on top of everything. “I could have taken a cab.”
Minako rolls her eyes. “Don’t be ridiculous. You haven’t been home for years. We wanted you to have a proper welcome. Your parents and Mari would be here too, if they weren’t busy at the onsen.”
He looks at the sign she’s holding, now. Large, somewhat messy letters spell out, ‘Welcome Home, Uncle Yuuri!’, and glitter is scattered haphazardly all around them. It looks like it was made by a child. Or children. Yuuko’s triplets, maybe? That’s cute. He’s looking forward to meeting them; he’s heard they are quite the mischief-makers, though.
Yuuri follows Minako back to her car, trying to avoid looking at all the skating posters of himself around town. How embarrassing, now that he’s failed so thoroughly. The car ride goes quickly enough, with them chatting a bit about his life in America and how things have been back here in Hasetsu while he’s been gone. When they arrive at the onsen, he does his best to struggle through properly greeting his parents and sister, but he can barely keep his eyes open and they shuffle him off to his room after just a few minutes.
Closing the door to his room behind him, he huffs a sigh and looks around. He cringes internally at all the posters of Victor Nikiforov that are still lining the walls of his room. Victor is an amazing skater, but remembering the crush he held onto for most of his teenage years is uncomfortable. All of the years of training and living abroad to claw his way into the ranks that were worthy to skate on the same ice as Victor, all thrown away over the course of a few disastrous days. He feels a pang in his heart, thinking of how different things are to how he had expected to return home. Vicchan, running up to him with her tail wagging, jumping up and down for attention. People cheering for their hometown’s skating success story. Yuuri returning feeling accomplished and fulfilled, instead of directionless and insignificant.
Shaking himself, he sets to the task of unpacking, as much as he can do before passing out, anyway. Unzipping his largest suitcase, he carefully removes the old shoebox containing his deepest secrets. He lifts the lid and sifts through the envelopes inside. Sometimes he finds it hard to believe that he’s held onto these letters for all these years, but every time he’s thought of getting rid of them, it feels like he would be getting rid of a part of himself. Each of these letters feels like a representation of a different time in his life, even if none of them are particularly applicable at the moment. The names jump out at him as he places them back in the box one by one.
Yuuko, his childhood friend.
Mei Nakamura, from skate camp, over a decade ago.
Victor Nikiforov, of course.
Jeremy Meyers, an American skater from his first international junior competition.
And Phichit Chulanont.
Everyone he’s ever been in love with. Yuuri is very good at articulating his feelings. On paper. In a letter to be sealed in a box and never sent. In person? Not a chance. And a good thing, too, because his feelings of romance have always faded over time. When Yuuri had first met Phichit, he had fallen hard and fast. Phichit was just so alive and energetic, he had a magnetism to him that made it impossible to look away. Yuuri had needed to get his feelings down on paper before they came spilling out his mouth and making a fool of him. Of course, Phichit had turned out to be an amazing roommate and training partner, and while Yuuri considered Phichit to be a treasured friend and was sad to be apart from him now, the idea of a relationship was laughable.
As for the rest, he had been “in love” with Yuuko at seven years old, had known Mei Nakamura for all of two weeks, and had had one conversation with Jeremy Meyers that happened to coincide with an especially inconvenient rush of teenage hormones. And Victor Nikoforov… well, his bi awakening had to happen sometime, and everyone is entitled to a celebrity crush or two, right? Yes, it’s a good thing he restricts his thoughts of romance to the form of secret letters that will never see the light of day. He doesn’t need the potential complications and heartbreak of an actual relationship.
He replaces the lid of the box and sets it aside. He shoves a few handfuls of clothes into drawers until the suitcase is mostly empty. Blinking blearily, he falls back on his bed and decides the rest can wait until his body has recovered from the abuse of the last twenty-four hours of travel.
***
Axel has admired Uncle Yuuri for all her life, even though she’s never met him. She and Lutz and Loop faithfully watch every competition, collect every poster, and grab Mama’s phone whenever they can, to check Uncle Yuuri’s roommate’s instagram for new pictures of him. Ever since Mama told her that Uncle Yuuri is coming home she has been asking when she will be able to see him. She doesn’t understand why Mama gets so frustrated when she asks again, now; it’s been at least five minutes since the last time she asked.
The walk over to the onsen is taking forever. And it’s boring. It would be so much better if people could skate wherever they needed to go. Uncle Yuuri would probably want to skate instead of walk, too. Here they are, now. Auntie Mari says that Uncle Yuuri is sleeping and they have to wait until next time to meet him. But Axel really wants to meet him now; she’s been waiting forever, so that’s more important. A quick huddle with Lutz and Loop and the special triplet sneak technique is in action, allowing Axel to get away without the grownups noticing, while the other two make it seem like all three of them are still there.
Down the hall and to the left is Uncle Yuuri’s old room. One time, she and Lutz and Loop were supposed to stay overnight at Grandma’s house, but she missed her own room so much, she couldn’t fall asleep and had to go back home. Uncle Yuuri has probably been missing his room all this time, and that’s where he would want to sleep now. She carefully nudges the door open and peers inside. She barely contains her excited gasp as she realizes she was right; Uncle Yuuri is here, sprawled out on his bed, and a bit of drool is dribbling out of the corner of his mouth.
“Uncle Yuuri, wake up!” she whispers, as loudly as she dares, because if a grownup back in the main room hears her they will come and get her before she can talk to Uncle Yuuri. “Uncle Yuuri, we walked all the way to the onsen to meet you and we’ve been waiting forever. Please wake up so I can tell you how I can skate almost as amazing as you, and then you can go right back to sleep, I promise.”
Axel reaches out to poke him in the side, but he just grumbles in his sleep and rolls over. He’s not waking up. Maybe he’s too sleepy. Her lower lip starts to tremble and she fights back tears. This is just so disappointing. She’s waited so long. Uncle Yuuri shifts again and something falls to the floor with a soft thump. A box is upside-down on the floor and the lid has come off. She bends down to look and finds a few letters. Axel loves getting letters in the mail, and she’s been asking Mama if she can send a letter to a friend sometime. Uncle Yuuri is probably going to be really busy with all the friends and family who want to see him again now that he’s back home... and Papa says if she’s going to be sneaky she should try doing nice sneaky things instead of ‘mischief’.
Her mind is made up. She collects all the letters that fell out of the box. She’s going to do a nice sneaky thing and put Uncle Yuuri’s letters in the mail for him.

Could you explain a little bit more on why you think the JP fandom is focusing on the "look at me~" part of the drama instead of Chihoko stuff (what you mentioned in your ask abt the event). I'm just wondering what you mean about that, or if you could explain that part a bit better than it seems it was in the snippets we got from Twitter? Thank you for all you do :>
Hello! I think it’s a matter of wording… Like, some lines sound more impressive in Japanese. There are some parts I remember very clearly and some where I had forgotten the exact wording, but yesterday I could find a very complete and accurate Japanese report of the drama (to be honest I find it hard to believe that someone could have written such a perfect report by just taking notes on paper, but.. yeah…).
My impression is based on the fanarts/fancomics I’ve seen. Of course, I cannot possibly have seen each and every single fanart about the event, but for example let’s say that I’ve seen about 300 Japanese fanarts and 50 foreign fanarts (numbers are not exact but they are close to what I’ve seen so far). Out of all the Japanese ones, none of them used the line that in English has been translated by some as “I could search all over the world~”, while I’ve seen at least 5-7 foreign fanarts about it. That’s quite a difference. The reason is that this line doesn’t sound as “deep” in Japanese at all, so Japanese people don’t give it so much importance, it’s just Yuuri trying to convince Victor to get down.
Details and partial translations under the cut.
The exact translation of this part (if the report is accurate, but as far as my memory goes I believe it is):
Victor: “Who’s better, Chihoko or I!?!?”Yuuri: “Who is Chihoko??? Uff… There’s no one better than you in the whole world!!!”Victor: “Am I shining!?!?”Yuuri: “Jeez, yeah you’re dazzling!! Just put some clothes on!!!”
Listening to Yuuri’s voice makes it even clearer, but here he’s not really praising Victor with all his heart, he’s just trying to convince him to get down, and in Japanese their dialogue just sounds hilarious. Now, to be exact, the literal translation of Yuuri’s line is indeed “even searching all over the world it’s not possible to find someone as ‘incredible’ as you” (now, this “incredible” in Japanese is “sugoi” which can also have a humorous nuance, as if he’s saying “I’m sure no one else would do the things you do”), but what it conveys in Japanese is more like I have translated it above.
Also, I’ve seen lots of people in foreign fanarts use Victor’s line “I am Yuuri’s ‘now’”. However, this line doesn’t exist in the drama! In fact there are no Japanese fanarts that use it. As I said in my other post, it can’t really be helped because everyone is reporting based on their memory. I didn’t recall hearing it, and reading reports I could confirm that indeed there was no line like that. I think it might be a wrong recollection of Victor’s monologue:
Victor: “That time, I was indeed angry. But not at Yuuri… at myself, for thinking that I knew everything about him. Sha Chihoko. Chihoko… who the hell are you!? Ah, well… I don’t care who Chihoko is. After all, the past is what made Yuuri who he is now.”(”Yuri on Ice” starts playing in the background)“Yuuri… you have surprised me a lot. You surpassed my imagination, by far. You always looked for an answer with shining eyes. That brought new colors to my world. Now it’s my turn. I will try to surpass your imagination, by far. Yuuri… I’ll show it to you. This is my true…. REVERSE SHRIMP POSE!!!”
I think maybe the person who wrote the report had an inaccurate memory of Victor saying “the past is what made Yuuri who he is now”, or “now it’s my turn”. He never says “I’m Yuuri’s now”.(note: I have no idea how to properly translate “逆海老反り”. It’s the shachihoko pose.. like a shrimp arching his back… Literally it’s somewhat like “reverse shrimp back-arching”.)
Finally, the “look at me” part is by far the one where “the way it’s pronounced” is most important, in my opinion. The translation goes like this:
Yuuri: (dead drunk voice) “Dun jus’ look at Chris, look at me~..”Victor: (sweet voice) “I’m looking at you?”Yuuri: “You’re noo~t”Victor: (disturbingly sweet voice) “I am~♡”Yuuri: “Hmm.. ‘ell then… Do it, with me..” (when he says “do it with me” his voice is much lower than before, like a murmur)Victor: (suddenly serious tone, almost whispering) “….Do what?”Yuuri: “Hn.. whaddyou do when you drink~…”Victor: (still like a whisper) “…What is it, that you do?”Yuuri: (suddenly loud) YAKYUUKEN, of course!!!!!!!!”
Yakyuuken is strip janken (rock paper scissors), the one who loses removes one piece of clothing.Anyway, the above is the closest I could get to how it sounded in Japanese! I’m sure even in Japanese it’s still not possible to fully understand how it sounded without listening to the actual thing, but language-wise, it still sounds closer than in English. I swear I wanted to melt into the chair and disappear during this part, it was that embarrassing. (note: I’m praising it) Many Japanese fans agree that you could picture a heart at the end of Victor’s line, lol.
The parts I mentioned above are the ones where I found the most differences between the reaction of the Japanese and overseas fans, but as I already said it’s not someone’s fault as it’s not possible to recall everything 100% correct by just listening to something twice, even if you take notes.
Lastly, it is confirmed that Victor was naked when he was doing the shachihoko pose on the castle roof (I’m surprised he didn’t get arrested for obscenity lol), but actually we don’t know about Yuuri. I don’t think Yuuri went to the castle only wearing his underwear, so he either undressed on the roof or did the pose with his clothes on. This is not confirmed in the drama or by the staff so far, and even among Japanese people there isn’t a fixed interpretation.
Final question corner (questions I haven’t been asked but someone might ask).
1) If you say that everyone is reporting based on their memory, how can you be sure that what you wrote in your post is correct?
The report I’m using as a reference was written by someone who either has genius-level memory or used “tricks” to remember it correctly, because it’s way too perfect (I only hope these “tricks” are not something which is forbidden at events). If you ask me “what did they say?” I myself can only remember the exact wording for some lines, but if you show me 5 different versions of the same line I can tell which is the one I heard at the event. And that report was like… exactly what I heard at the event. So I’m pretty positive it’s almost completely correct.
2) Can this drama be considered canon?
My opinion is: “Why not?”. I think everyone was in character. We know that Yuuri goes crazy when drunk already from episode 10, where he shamelessly clung to Victor even though they weren’t even acquainted (he even remembers it as “I didn’t have the courage to speak to Victor”), and this drama is set in the off-season after the end of the series, when they are much more intimate (however you prefer to interpret “intimate”). Same for Victor, he was already undressing and clinging to Yuuri in the Chinese restaurant of episode 6, so yeah… “Victor undressing in public when drunk” doesn’t sound impossible. All other characters sounded like themselves too, and let’s not forget that YOI does have some “surreal” parts (the triplets in the first place) even in the anime series, so I believe what happened in the drama and the subtle sides of some characters that we got to know here (can kisser drunk Seung-gil be considered “subtle”..?) make sense.

Okay. Get this. Good uncle Yuuri is planning the triplets' birthday party and hires magician! Victor. Victor chooses Yuuri as a participant even though it's a kid birthday party and he's supposed to choose a kid.
Okay. Get this. You sent me this amazing thought, and I decided to write a 2,000+ word fic on it. Because my self-control needs to be located by search party. I’m going to post the whole thing here and move it to Ao3 tomorrow when I feel less lazy :). Thank you for sharing this INSANELY INSPIRING idea with me and I hope you enjoy…. “Magic Man” :)
(It is long so there is a cut line! Definitely SFW!)
The ad had said that Victor the Great could entertainaudiences of all ages, that his tricks were beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, andthat he could convince even the most cynical people that magic was real.
What the ad didn’t say, was that Victor was absolutely themost beautiful man who had ever dared to exist on earth.
The lack of warning had certainly taken a toll on Yuuri’sheart, as he opened the front door to Yuuko’s house and came face-to-face with theman-god parading as a children’s party magician. The black top hat, tailedblack coat and bright red bow tie should have immediately elicited laughter.Instead, Yuuri felt his tongue swell two sizes in his mouth and steal away hisability to speak. Maybe that was Victor’s first trick, robbing Yuuri of all hissenses with the man’s magical out-of-this-world blue eyes and smile that litYuuri’s body on fire. Blushing and staring at his feet, Yuuri waved Victor intothe house and lead him to the back yard where the show would take place.
Victor followed the dark-haired man through a dining roomfilled with delicious looking food, through a kitchen that looked like a foodbomb got gone off, and out into a backyard that was chaotic with kid noise.Children ran in every direction, giggling and yelling “you’re it!” as theytagged their friends. On the outskirts of the yard, the adults stood in smallclumps of conversation, occasionally dodging a sprinting child. It was atypical kid party, and Victor grinned at the lively nature of his futureaudience.
“Um… here…” Yuuri stopped and pointed to the small platformof a wood deck. “I mean…” rubbing the back of his neck, Yuuri could feel theblush on his cheeks heating up as the blue eyes studied him, “you can set uphere.” Finally gaining an ounce of courage, Yuuri lifted his gaze to meetVictor’s.
“Are you Yuuri?” Stepping forward, Victor set his blackcases onto the deck. His slight invasion of Yuuri’s personal space wasintentional as Victor continued to smile at the adorable man.
Yuuri’s first email, inquiring about Victor’s availabilityfor the party, had been formal and inquisitive. Victor had responded backquickly, confirming that he would love to provide entertainment. It was Yuuri’ssecond response, with a cheeky question about Victor arriving by car or in apuff of smoke that had peaked Victor’s interest. It had been a silly joke, butVictor had played along, answering not only in jest, but also with a hint offlirting.
Nineteen emails had been exchanged over the course of twoweeks and Victor had been unable to sleep the night before the party, theanticipation of meeting his email partner keeping him awake with nervousenergy. The dark mop of hair, shy brown eyes, and flushing cheeks had to belongto Yuuri Katsuki, and Victor had been trying to come up with something cleverthroughout their short walk through the house. Instead of cleverness, he hadbarely managed to ask Yuuri to identify himself, and Victor was internallygroaning over his own failure.
Swallowing, Yuuri studied Victor’s face. “I am,” he said, gainingcourage he stuck out his hand, “uh, nice to meet you Victor the Great.” WhenVictor chuckled, Yuuri wanted to crawl inside of the piñata and let the kidsbeat his embarrassment out of him.
“You’ll watch the show, won’t you?” Victor slipped his handinto Yuuri’s, squeezing it slightly. “Maybe if you watch me closely, you’ll beable to figure out my tricks.” Leaning forward again, Victor winked at Yuuri. He prayed that he sounded flirty instead of creepy.
“UNCLE YUURI!! UNCLE YUURI!!!”
Getting tackled from behind by three squealing triplets,Yuuri fell forward into Victor’s arms. Freezing, Yuuri looked up andimmediately lost himself again in Victor’s eyes. Feeling his body shaken by theforce of three sets of hands, Yuuri snapped his attention back to his nieces. “Momsaid you have to help with the piñata while the magician sets up! Dad said youcan flirt later!” All three girls cackled at their joke as Yuuri’s face caughtfire.
Smile on his lips, Victor stepped up onto the wooden deckand bent to open his first case. “I’m ok with that plan,” throwing a wink overhis shoulder, Victor forced himself to concentrate on his props as a stammeringYuuri was dragged toward the line of screaming kids.
Yuuri was a distraction. Victor couldn’t stop analyzing howadorable his new crush looked with the triplets draped over his lap as all theparty guests watched the show. Although his tricks had gone off without ahitch, Victor could feel his concentration wavering every time Yuuri laughedalong with the children. Taking a deep breath, Victor decided to remedy thesituation immediately.
“I need a volunteer from the audience!” All of the children’shands were instantly in the air, punctuated with a chorus of “pick me! Pick me!”One of the birthday girls had managed to knock Yuuri’s glasses askew in theirexcitement, and Victor’s mind went blank as Yuuri pulled them off entirely. Itwas like looking at two different, but equally attractive, men and Victorwondered if Yuuri was somehow actually magic. Ignoring all fifteen wildlywaving children, Victor pointed directly at Yuuri and said “ah yes you, youngman in the blue shirt, how about you join me?”
The children made sounds of disappointment as the tripletsproceeded to push Yuuri up from the ground and shove him toward the stage.Their smirks in Victor’s direction left the magician wondering if he had gainedallies in his quest to woo Yuuri. Reaching out, Victor wrapped a hand aroundYuuri’s elbow and pulled him close. “Alright, my lovely assistant, I need youto cuff me.” At the back of the yard, Takeshi choked on his drink and Yuukopatted his back as he laughed through the pain.
“Do what?!” Yuuri exclaimed, pulling back to stare at Victorwith wide eyes. His mind had not gone to any decent place and Yuuri was goingto need immediate clarification as to the exact nature of Victor’s request.
Lifting a pair of handcuffs from his pocket, Victor dangledthem in front of Yuuri’s face. “Please secure both of these handcuffs to myright wrist. Can you do that for me, Yuuri?” Dropping the handcuffs into Yuuri’sopen palm, Victor let the playful smirk dance over his lips. “Make sure theyare nice and tight.” The request was made close to Yuuri’s ear as Victor dippeddown to whisper his request.
Yuuri’s fingers faltered for a second as he slid the metalcuffs into place. The skin on Victor’s wrist felt like warm silk and Yuuri hadto stop himself from grazing it purposely with his fingertips. Taking a shakybreath, Yuuri dropped his hands and peered up at Victor through his eyelashes. “Nowwhat?” A large part of him was curious about whatever Victor’s trick would be,while a smaller part of him was hoping it would involve Victor continuing tostay close to him.
“Now we hold hands!” Victor declared with a wave to theaudience as he wrapped his fingers around Yuuri’s. “And…” dropping a red clothover their joined hands, Victor took the opportunity to run his thumb overYuuri’s as they clasped hands disappeared from sight, “if you will all say themagic words!” Again, Victor waved to the audience and laughed as the kidschanted, “abracadabra alacazam!” Pinching the red cloth, Victor flung it away.
Staring down at their still linked fingers, Yuuri gaped asone of the cuffs had moved onto his wrist. “We’re handcuffed together!” Toemphasize the point, Yuuri dropped Victor’s hand and lifted his own wrist intothe air. Victor’s came with it, the metal cuffs tethering them together. Fromthe back of the yard, Takeshi yelled “yeahhhh boiii!” pumping a fist in the airuntil Yuuko smacked him.
“Silly me!” Patting all of his pockets, Victor pretended tolook worried. “It seems like I have forgotten the key! I guess you will have tostay locked to me forever, Yuuri.”
The mini instigators seated on the lawn began a taunting, “ohhhhhh”making Yuuri flush bright red. “I… there… maybe we can get out of it by magic?”It sounded lame, even to Yuuri, but he couldn’t stay attached to Victorforever. Not that the idea really sounded bad,but it was most certainly not practical. “Come on Victor, let’s end this.”Waving their joined wrists in the air, Yuuri couldn’t help but giggle as Victorlooked offended.
“You wound me, Yuuri!” Victor cried, dramatically droppinghis head to his chin. “How shall I ever recover?” Pretending to wail, Victorbit his lip as the children began to hysterically laugh.
One very astute little boy shouted above the laughter of theothers. “If you stay like that forever, how would you pee?!”
Catching Victor’s eye, Yuuri snorted out a laugh. “See, wecan’t pee, and that’s bad.” Letting the laughter overtake him, Yuuri shook hishead as Victor joined in.
Taking a deep breath, Victor tried to control himself. Showshadn’t been this fun in a very long time. “Alright, alright, I believe there isa bit of magic that can help us here, but…” glancing sideways at Yuuri, Victorcame up with a plan, “it is secret magic. So if you are less than ten yearsold, come gather really close and I will tell you all about it.” The childrenrushed Victor, who crouched down, but kept his arm elevated to leave Yuuristanding.
Hearing the words “this is what we have to do” float overthe sea of tiny heads, Yuuri decided it was better if he didn’t know. Looking tothe back of the yard, he rolled his eyes as Yuuko, Takeshi, and his best friendPhichit all gave him thumbs ups. When he felt his arm jostle, Yuuri refocusedas Victor returned to a standing position.
“Ok,” Victor winked at the kids, “what are the two things weneed to release these handcuffs?”
“MAGIC WORDS!” came the unison shout from the kids, who wereall bouncing excitedly on their toes.
“And what are those magic words?” Victor guided, taking astep closer to Yuuri and placing the cloth back over their hands.
“YUURI WILL YOU GO OUT WITH VICTOR!” They all shouted, collapsing in a fit of giggles.
Stealing a glance in Yuuri’s direction, Victor bit his lip. Those adorable cheeks were bright red again, but the shocked smile was allVictor needed to keep going with his plan. “What’s the second thing we need?”
“TRUE LOVE’S KISS!!” The kids shouted, so loudly all of theadults jumped.
Spinning to face Yuuri, Victor raised one eyebrow, registering the glimmer in Yuuri’s wide eyes. Leaning in, Victor pressed hislips briefly to Yuuri’s before pulling back to throw the red cloth off theirwrists again. Hanging in Victor’s hand were the set of unlocked cuffs.
The kids exploded with applause, chanting Victor’s nameuntil all of the parents rushed forward to quiet them down. As Yuuko usheredthem away to the tables to consume another round of sugar, Victor shruggedsheepishly toward Yuuri. “You don’t have to… you know… go… if you don’t want…”He was suddenly nervous and unable to look up from his own feet.
“And deny true love?” Somewhere between being shocked byVictor’s magic words and electrified by Victor’s brief kiss, Yuuri had foundhis words. “I wouldn’t do that.” Tugging on Victor’s bow tie, Yuuri encouragedVictor to look up. “How about I take you sightseeing tomorrow? Since you saidyou are new to town.”
Grinning, an impossible heart being formed by Victor’s lips,he nodded his acceptance. He felt alive in a way he hadn’t for a long time, andVictor couldn’t wait to see what else was in store.
“Dedushka!” The small dark-haired child in Victor’s laprolled his eyes. “You have told that story like one million times! I want tohear a new story about you and Ojiisan!!” Victor laughed, throwing his headback as he did so to look up at Yuuri. The beautiful cheeks were covered inwrinkles now, the mop of black hair was splattered with white, and the eyeswere certainly less shy, but his husband was still every bit as alluring as hehad been on that first day.
“Let me try,” Yuuri said, plucking the small boy from Victor’slap and settling down on the couch. “Let me tell you about the time yourDedushka and I attempted to take up ice skating…” Winking at his husband whowas still magically stunning after all these years, Yuuri began to weave a taleof their epic failure as ice skaters.

The ice rink never became his life instead it became his safe-haven for when the taunts of his classmates became too much. A place where judgement did not reach unless you went pro. That was a few of the reasons he never pursued his short dream of becoming a professional skater; there was too much judgement from the viewers, too much scrutiny under the sharp eyes of each judge and his self-esteem too low to handle that certain weight.
-
Yuuri, with his life never revolving ice skating as he once believed it would, instead finds himself helping around his family's onsen and pursuing an interest in learning new languages alongside a friend he made from the States.
He'd never thought he would ever find the one, his other half that made him whole; the one that'd fill him with raging butterflies and a loud drumming heart whenever he'd hear their laugh.
However, when the triplets upload his rendition of Stammi Vicino to the web is he in for a surprise alongside the thrill of his life that he'd thought he had lost when he gave up the world of ice and blades.
