the vibes in yesterday’s video fully took me out. i left work 3 hours early to go home and watch it and now im going into work late this morning because im still recovering
y'know sometimes I'll stumble across some genuinely terrifying existential-crisis inducing fiction like all tomorrows, I have no mouth and I must scream (and the rococo snake, iykyk, dunno if it counts as fictional media but I'm including it anyway) and I go see what ppl have to say about it here and it's a bunch of memes, ocs, and even simpery?? and I just wanna say I both admire and am perplexed by you guys. Idk how you guys aren't shaking in your boots but y'all make me feel slightly less terrified when watching video essays explaining these and I thank you for that keep up the good work /gen
as a Porky Fanatic i’ve always loved just about every classic iteration of his character, but the more i analyze and comb through these cartoons i find myself becoming more and more enamored with Clampett’s approach: blundering and oblivious, but incredibly endearing and charming whose humor is largely (and anomalously) derivative from his sincerity.
this particular clip is such a perfect combination of embracing that sort of sincerity and almost encouraging it, but also poking polite fun at how eccentric and comically naïve he is (as reflected through the dog’s very succinct commentary.) only Porky would find it acceptable to breathlessly explain his life’s story to some random dog he found then feeling the need to politely excuse himself and leave with absolutely no warning, and that in itself is just as funny as any other visual gag or screwball escapade. a-ma-zing!
Nah, nevermind, I don't feel like I can properly comb through everything on my own. I'm just gonna get shit wrong, miss things, or otherwise get yelled at.
I'm just gonna rb stuff.
Read the tags as I go off there but. yeah.
Thanks to the people who helped point things out to me. As a bit of an explanation on my own end, I had just woken up lol. I was groggy and that was the first thing I did before even getting out of bed. I really should have waited, but curiosity got the best of me, so.
in Postknight, I went to click on the adorable wolf cub I'd adopted bc I wanted to feed him, but misclicked and opened up the bounty board right behind him showing bounties for wolves and wolf cubs just like him.
if this were intentional, I'd probably have called it heavyhanded
yeah two cakes theory but something about being in... small to medium sized fandoms makes doing the same thing someone else did feel like a social violation honestly?
i immediately lose all motivation to do a thing if someone else does it first because to me, it'll come off like i'm shamelessly copying them or that i thought i could do it better.
(sometimes i probably could, but i'd rather not come off that rude by actually doing so even if i'd had no idea someone else was working on it when the idea hit me.)
currently having an Awful Time (dropped phone in toilet) (needs to go to work tomorrow) (bus pass is on phone) (also cant check emails because of stupid 2FA connected to my phone) (really wants to cry rn)
I try not to be grumpy old man when I can, and *most* AMVs aren't this bad...
But nothing makes me despair on people's artistic conprehension like watching AMVs to Offspring songs.
Did... did you even listen to the lyrics my guy? This is some straight up "Sarah Mclaughlin - Angel as a wedding song" ass missing the point so hard you left orbit.
