So true, video game from 2003

#yeah yeah. it technically released in japan in 2002 but 1) december 2002 and 2) NA release was in 2003 #but if you want to be really technical about it this is actually a screenshot from the legacy collection released in 2023 #mmbn #mmbn3 #mega man battle network #megaman #videos game #video games #i remember playing this game in like 3rd or 4th grade #replaying it now on the legacy collection and... i don't remember any of this!#granted. it *has* been ~20 years but you'd think at least SOME of it would feel familiar #i mean. the music does. but i meant the plot #got recommended one of the songs on youtube and was overcome by such a powerful wave of nostalgia #that i had to immediately impulse buy the legacy collection #the only thing i DO remember about it is that i never beat it #got very close to the end but just couldn't make it past alpha #and then i guess i gave up on it for the next two decades or so :P

Absolutely ADORED the Beastieball demo, made by Greg Lobanov, the Wandersong and Chicory: A Colorful Tale guy!

Please do yourself a favor and play it, the game itself is coming in 2024, but the demo is for free on steam

hello tumblr i just got off of an 11 hour call with my friends. we did this video game ost tournament with 512 songs (results, assuming nobody else did this on the same day)

i have learned:

i have been sleeping on the yakuza soundtracks

god is cruel

penny is my favorite pokemon character (i have never played pokemon but a. she wears a big ass hoodie, b. she just has eeveelutions, and c. her battle theme is industrialcore and i am autistic about it (i fucking love heavy distorted kicks and bass))

my friends like the celeste ost more than i thought they would

11 hours can pass in the span of what feels like 2

thank you for reading, i dont have a particular reason for posting this it was just like the most fun i've had in months, my face was hurting from smiling by the end, i wanted to document it here. it is 5:30 am for me right now so . good night

Assorted shirt-related nonsense from the past few days that's probably only of interest to me, but I felt like telling y'all anyway:

Wearing this shirt at work. Guy comes up and says, "Oh, hey! I listen to that band sometimes." And I tell him I first heard them in Hotline Miami (well, Hotline Miami 2, to be precise), and he's like, "You saw them at a concert in Miami?"

"No, I saw them at a concert in Austin. Hotline Miami is a video game."

"Oh, I don't really play video games."

What? I'm not saying I don't believe him, but how do you know Magic Sword and not Hotline Miami? You're telling me you listen to this

and you don't play video games? I guess they did have a song in the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok(? some MCU movie); maybe that's where he heard of them. Or maybe he thought it was a different band... Idk, just kinda weird/funny.

Second story.

Wearing this shirt to a doctor's appointment yesterday. Nurse says, "Oh, I like your shirt. Is that Mary Poppins?" I say, "Haha, no, it's from a video game," and leave it at that.

I guess I can kinda see that? Maybe? But that was a first, for sure.
