Sometimes a Saturday just involves getting on the bus in full viking garb because there’s no other way to realistically get to an event (unfortunately there is not a river in between me and it so I can’t just build a longship and sail that)

Made a little token out of antler on the Viking fair. And it works wonderful as a whorl 😌
Also I want to make a Spinde out of bone. but boy, this will take some time...

Reorganized my bling. These are mostly replicas of original Viking bead designs but they are from different regions. The majority fits Birka and Rus but there are quite a few others. To be historically more accurate there should be more greens and blues and less decorated beads - but I like red, and decorations.
I decided to keep the assemblage this way because these beads were collected across time from places all over Europe; two were even made by an artist from the US I met in Denmark.
They hold memories of travel and friendship which makes them much more valuable to me personally. I like to think that this might even be a way beads have been collected and organized for a long time. Who knows why exactly different assemblages were selected and organized the way they were in Viking times.
Either way, things I have certainly kept from the originals are the variety of colors and lack of symmetry. ;D

Some photos from the Abbey Tournament 2023 at the warbow display featuring myself in the blue tunic.
My bow is a 95lb @ 30 inch draw Hedeby bow
That puts me at 15lbs more than Will, and 5lbs less than Halt from Ranger's Apprentice, aiming eventually for 120lbs@ 30 inches
