Propaganda
Vilma Banky (The Son of the Sheik, The Eagle)—no propaganda submitted
Norma Talmadge (Smilin' Through, The Lady)—She's one of the biggest female stars of the silent era and, even though now she's almost forgotten (I think?), her contemporaries adored her. Adela Rogers St. Johns defined her “Our One and Only Great Actress” here: [link] (and really Adela can do propaganda much better than me XD) Anyway, I actually saw only one film of hers (most are lost to time), but I immediately loved her, so I think she deserves to be nominated because she's gorgeous and elegant and so so expressive - maybe it's because she starred in silent movies, but I just love how deep her eyes are – and very versatile, able to play different roles even within the same film. (fun fact, which is the reason why I discovered Norma, Marilyn Monroe was named Norma after her)
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
