1) 2007! that is how long i have been a fan too :)

2) 27th september 2013. overall i have seen them live 4 times! i also saw halfnoise in 2017 and met zac

3) seventeen, jungkook, iu, eminem, billie eilish. honourable mention to taeyeon tho!

4) i don't have any pets. i had a dog (german shepherd) called sam, we had him before i was born so when i came along he was super protective, when i was baby he was always by my crib and stuff and as i was growing up if i needed help when walking or walking down the stairs at our back door (they had no railing) he'd always stand by my side so i could hold him, and then as i grew up too he always slept in my room or on my bed. he passed though in 2005 or 2006? so sad i miss him he was the best. i had another dog after that (yorkshire terrier) and i called him marmite but he was too hyperactive and aggressive so we ended up having to give him to a friend.

5) um..... i don't know. i watched barbie but that was new to everyone. vincenzo (kdrama) is the only thing that comes to mind since i only got into kdramas last year and it came out in 2021. some other things, not new to me but hey i wanna share, little women (kdrama), extraordinary attorney woo (kdrama) and a business proposal (kdrama), the first two were so incredible, the last one was silly but it was a fun time.

6) my fave moment.... the date at the gallery in oct 2018. also LA nov 2018. it was a party over here it was so fun each time. obvs they were dating then but majority of the fanbase still hating tayley shippers and that's what tayley were up to..... incredible time.

7) self titled. granted her personal life was a mess but she went thru 2726267227 hair styles and colours and i think it would be fun

8) hm.... well id like to tell her about finding paramore in 2007 during the literal worst year is my whole life and how it really helped me as a 10 year have something to turn to when i was going through something very traumatic. id also like to pick her brain over some lyrics on ffv so i can understand them properly finally, and hm..... idk what else

July 3rd 1582 James Crichton of Eliock, the original “Admirable Crichton”, died in a brawl in Mantua.

James Crichton was a spectacular prodigy, whose epithet ‘Admirable’, hard won in his own lifetime, has been unfortunately appropriated by a butler in JM Barrie’s play, the pair bare no resemblance.

James Crichton was born in 1560 in Dumfriesshire, and his father Robert was Lord Advocate of Scotland from 1562 to 1582.  Schooled in Perth, he entered St Andrews university at 9, became a Bachelor of Arts at 12, and a Master at 14.  He was then chosen to be a youthful companion of King James VI, then aged 9, but shortly after left Scotland for France, where it is believed he spent some time in the French army.

By 1580 and based in Venice, he had built himself a spectacular reputation in Italy, for his ability to discourse and dispute with the leading professors of the day, in a multitude of languages, and in a charming manner.  To be an intellectual adventurer was not uncommon in those days, but surviving three days of disputation, as he did in Padua in March 1581, remains an astounding achievement.  

In 1582 he entered the service of the Duke of Mantua, but on a hot night in July 1582 was murdered in a street brawl by the Duke’s thuggish son, Prince Vincenzo and some of his cohorts.

hmmm joongki can have his own take on his character and you can have your own. his take is as valid as any of ours. and I see people unhappy that he chose monk jeokha over Chayoung? we saw the show, Vincenzo had plenty life affirming conversations with other people. the monk (twice), Mr Tak who he also mentioned in an interview before, in fact if you look closely, he never had a proper one with Chayoung about his guilt and anger. the conversations they had never got there.

I think to joongki she was the person vincenzo loved deeply but unfortunately he is not yet convinced that he fully deserves her love and companionship. and this is what really didn't sit well with shippers. it's a very valid take though, considering what actually played out. I had at one point wished for unrepentant mafia couple cencha, but the last few episodes basically cemented that that was not to be.

how vincenzo internalised his guilt was never fully explored on screen but I'm sure joongki gave it a lot of thought. he knows how awful vincenzo can be, the whole gatto sazio thing? that shit is heinous and some people like to gloss over it. same with his method of torture. he doesn't hand wave it away, takes it in like it matters to his characterisation.

also people forget that this show is called vincenzo, not vincenzo and chayoung. the show is about vincenzo and all the people around him and that includes the plaza people and the villains. he was massively affected by not only Chayoung but everyone in geumga plaza. see how teary he got when secretary nam cried at him leaving. he is attached to all of them. so it's a bit strange when some people insist on interviews to be heavy on cencha when it's very clearly an ensemble drama. joongki has mentioned shaolin soccer and kungfu hustle as references.

I was 12 when everything in my life went wrong. I still remember the day — dreary after an acid rain — that I lost my father’s love. I was walking—

Luz stopped typing. “Woah, Gus. Dude. Do you need to talk about something? Because if you need somewhere to stay—”

“I was getting there!” Gus protested. “Just keep writing.”

“If you say so. Just know I’m here for you, all right?”

“Yeah. Thanks, Luz. Now, where was I?”

I had just arrived home from an afternoon of study at The Owl House with my two closest friends. Though there had been snacks, the studying had been particularly grueling, and I was famished. Thankfully I was met at the door by the delicious aromas of one of my favourite meals. It was one of the last sparks of happiness I felt.

You see, another of my dear friends had infiltrated that house and in my absence had supplanted me, filling my father’s mind with insidious propaganda in order to turn him against me. But I get ahead of myself. Let me relate to you the scene as it happened.

I had just walked in the door. There was conversation coming from the other room, which was odd seeing as it was only me and my father who lived in that house, and I didn’t remember my father mentioning company that night.

My father looked up from his cooking as I entered, investigating the source of this vocal anomaly.

“Ah, Gus, you’re home!” he said, his cheery voice unindicative of the sinister malice lurking nearby. “You have a guest here for you!”

Confused as to who could be calling — since I did not recall inviting anyone to my home — it was then that I peered around the corner and laid eyes on him. He looked innocent, then. He was standing on the other side of the counter, a smile on his face — rare in its sweetness — though for some reason he was clad in an old set of my clothes which I had thought discarded after my recent growth. Loathe though I am to admit it now, he was quite a handsome figure in them, though that may have just been the change from his usual raggedy attire.

“Mattholomule?” I asked. “What are you doing here? And why are you wearing my clothes?”

“Hey Gus! I was just stopping by to see if you wanted to work on the graveyard when the acid rain started. Your dad let me in and gave me some new clothes since my old ones melted a bit.” Then a smirk spread across his face and my stomach dropped. “Your dad’s been really nice. In fact, I was just telling him about this game we were playing together.”

Betrayal. It tore at my very heart. You see, we two had been embroiled in a long and passionate war over two characters in that game, each convinced one character was far superior. Both of us had tried to recruit our friends, but to little success. However, his smirk meant he had talked to my father and convinced him that Fernando — his preferred character — was the better man.

The horrible revelation left me rooted to the ground in shock, but before I could confront him my father cut in to tell us supper was ready.

We sat around the table. I was across from that vile backstabber and my father sat between us at the table’s head.

For a bit we exchanged small talk, me probing to discover what else Mattholomule had said, and my father curious as to our relationship.

“Oooo,” Luz leaned over the typewriter, “what is your relationship?” She’d stopped worrying about Gus once she learned this was just another fight about the game. She almost regretted showing it to Gus, but if it gave her some good gossip… well, it would certainly be worth the drama.

Gus blushed. “We’re just friends! My dad was just being nosy, now can we get back to my tale of woe?”

Bingo. “Of course! So, what happened next?” Luz settled back down on her stool as Gus began again.

My father was rather persistent in his attempts, but I was still bashful of my feelings for Mattholomule and so endeavored as best I could to fend off his questioning by bringing up the dreaded topic itself. I asked him what Matt had told him about the game.

He smiled, and there was a warm joy in it, yet it ripped me apart when he spoke. “Why, he was telling me about his favorite character, Fernando. I think this Fernando sounds very nice, in fact. He’s talented, he’s charismatic, he’s sweet and kind — everything someone could want from a love interest.”

As he uttered these terrible words he turned to smile at my enemy, confirming his endorsement of Mattholomule’s side and betraying my trust forever. I knew then I had lost my father, yet still I persevered. Desperately I spoke up. “What about Vincenzo? Did he tell you about him?”

My father turned back to me, curiosity etched on his features. “No, he didn’t. I suppose that’s your favorite?”

“Yeah! Fernando may have it all, but Vincenzo is so much better as a love interest! He’s a bit arrogant at times, but as you go into his story he’s actually just on hard times, and he’s got a heart of gold!”

“I see. Certainly another worthy pursuit,” he replied with a twinkle in his eye — but I knew him. He’d been my father for all my life (up until that day, when I disowned him) and I recognized the playful patronization beneath his gaze he really felt.

It was as though my heart had been ripped from my chest. I knew it was not the place nor the time to confront him though, and so for the rest of dinner I sat, alone in spirit and surrounded by foes while we talked idly of many things.

After we finished dinner, my father shooed us off with assurances he would clean up. I pulled Mattholomule aside in the hallway outside my bedroom and slammed him against the wall to confront him. However, in that moment I faltered. Pinned against the wall, smug and defiant, yet with a hint of fear deep within his eyes, I recognized then someone else in his place. Vincenzo.

I could feel my face flushing at the revelation. His face turned crimson as well, and I had a second revelation. If he was my Vincenzo, then I was his Fernando. The knowledge tore at me, but something else pressed more deeply at the desires of my heart.

“Mattholomule,” I breathed. “May I… kiss you?”

He nodded and as I leaned in, our lips brushing against each other’s sweetly, a tear ran down my cheek. I knew this moment was fleeting, for how could I still love Vincenzo when I knew he loved Fernando? I began to pull away, and—

“—and then I pinned him to the wall and confronted him, and you know what he did?”

“Hmmm?” Luz kept typing away furiously. Oh, this was getting good. A few evil snickers must’ve slipped out though, because Gus paused his rant.

“Wait, Luz, why are you snickering? You’re supposed to be recording my tale of heartbreak and woe!”

“I am!” Luz protested. “I’m just giving it some narrative juicieness!”

Gus narrowed his eyes. “Let me see.”

“No, no, keep talking! You can see it when I’m done!”

“Luz show me what you’re writing!” Gus lunged forward.

singer!cha-young & violonist!vincenzo au pt.1

don’t ask me why. i have no answer for you okay.

cha-young starts her career when she’s 5, appearing in a yogurt commercial. she’s not exactly a cute child, but she’s enthusiastic and disciplined.

her dad, the retired leader of a rock band who had a few hit songs in the 80s, is the one who introduces her to music.

she learns the piano & the guitar and takes singing lesson. her childhood is guided by auditions and music classes.

when she’s 12, a big agency contacts her and she signs a trainee contract with them. her dad is against it, but her mom and her win him over. she’ll be careful, they’ll look after her.

she starts training after school everyday, on the weekends too. she’s not really good at dance and she gets in trouble a lot but she’s the best singer in her age group, which makes up for it.

time passes by and the company starts to ask her to lose weight. her dance teacher comments on how big her thighs are. she’s asked if she ever thought about a nose job, or an eye surgery. those things happen a lot, and if she wants a sit at the big table, she’ll need to make some decisions.

her parents disagree, of course, but then her mother falls ill. she has to stop working and money becomes scarce. cha-young doesn’t want to bother them with her insignificant issues and so she starts a diet without any of them noticing. she needs to be thinner, maybe she’ll win a scholarship and her dad won’t need to work two jobs anymore.

her dad comes home drunk most nights, as if the sight of her mother made him sick. she was dying and her husband couldn’t even look at her anymore. cha-young doesn’t know who she hates more: her dad or herself for wishing she could escape home the same way he did every night.

her mom dies when she’s 15 and she stops taking lessons. she quits the company after a while too. she wins a scholarship for a good arts high school, known to hone musical talents. she meets new friends there, ones who don’t care about her proportions or her eyelids, and she’s happy in school.

her dad and her starts to argue more and more, until they stop talking. she fills the silence in her empty house with the music she writes.

after she graduates high school, she works two jobs to pay her way through college. all of her spare time is used composing, writing lyrics, singing. she posts covers on YouTube and she starts to gain some followers.

it’s not enough to make money but an independent label that’s been on the rise notices her. she signs with them after reading the contract carefully, when she’s 19. she choses her stage name, NOVA.

her first album is out by the time she’s 20 and she starts appearing on tv. her second album at 23 is her big break. her first hit song “Alone With You”, an upbeat tune contrasted by sad lyrics, stays on top of the charts for weeks, owing her the nickname of “monster rookie”.

people soon start to discover her easy-going, bubbly yet blunt personality and she starts going on more variety shows.

she’s loved and she’s found her sound, profound lyrics with innovative instrumentals, she plays with genres and concepts often, keeping her image fresh.

at 30, she’s one of the biggest South Korean solo act. she tours the world, sells album, holds events for her fans, travels. she doesn’t have to think about money anymore. she lives in a luxurious apartment in the centre of Seoul.

she’s learned that not everyone is going to love her. she’s used to dealing with virulent anti-fans, stalkers and paparazzi.

she has everything her 15 year old self dreamt of, an amazing career and devoted fans, a name people recognise and a wardrobe bigger than their previous living room. yet, she can’t seem to fill the emptiness inside of her.

she calls her dad once a year, for the new year. he still lives in their old house, refusing to move into the one she bought just for him. he teaches guitar to kids at the community center in their neighbourhood. her anger doesn’t seem to fade with the years.

she almost looses everything when her assistant, jung jun woo, leaks the fact that she’s had an abortion after she rejects him.

she’d been dating an actor a few years ago, and they had had an accident. she’d noticed too late that she missed her period since it was irregular and had to get an abortion. she didn’t think any of it now, there’s nothing wrong with a woman making this choice and she wasn’t ready to become a mother. she’d never once regretted it in the past.

however, South Korea’s entertainment industry was not a kind one, and a news like that would destroy her clean, quirky girl-next-door image she’d built over the years. and it did.

she’d never expected jun woo to betray her. he was part of her management team, one of her assistants. he’d always been cute if not a little clingy.

he’d confessed his feelings for her a few weeks back, claiming that he knew they were made for each other and that he would do everything for her and she’d laughed in his face. she hadn’t meant to sound mean or insensitive, she had thought it was a prank he was pulling on her.

turns out it wasn’t, and he had leaked this “abortion gate” to dispatch to get get back at her.

her label had released a vague statement, about “a difficult time in her life”, urging people to stop looking into “her private medical history”.

trashy tabloids and online blogs had had a field day. some people even started a petition to remove her from the industry. the news quickly turned into a social discourse when feminist orgs stood up for her. everyone was talking about it, some claiming she was a slut, others turning her into a symbol for women’s rights.

she felt like neither, it had been too long since she’d gotten some to qualify as a slut, and her label would have never let her discuss politics publicly.

she’d lost dozens of endorsements and deals and had officially decided to “focus on her health away from the spotlight” for a while (another statement from her label)

officially on her first hiatus ever, cha-young was lost. every time she tried to write, nothing came out. it would’ve been the perfect time to work on a new album but it seemed nothing worked in her favour as of late.

it’s 6 am when her father calls her. the last she’d heard of him was when the scandal broke out and he’d sent a vague supportive message to which she had responded “thanks, dad”. it was unusual for him to call, especially so early (or late).

she picks up the phone the second times he calls. “hello?” “hello, do you know the owner of this phone?” the man on the other side of the line is definitely not her father and he sounds rather annoyed. “yes, i’m this person’s daughter.” “great, can you come pick him up from my hotel room?” “your hotel room? is he okay?” “he should be. we drank too much and i have to vacate the room before 8. can you come or not?” “yes.” “I’ll text you the address from his phone.” is the last thing he says before hanging up. what a rude man.

why was her father drunk in hotel room with this rude stranger and why was she the one having to pick him up?

she doesn’t want to wake up her manager at this hour, and so she decides to go on her own. the hotel isn’t too far, a mere 15 minute drive, and soon enough she’s knocking on the door of a very expensive hotel suit, definitely not what one of her father’s friends could afford. who the hell was this guy?

she definitely did not expect Vincenzo Cassano, renowned world class violinist, to be the one opening the door.

let’s talk about the deaths in Vincenzo, shall we? pt.4

this is the last one, i swear. 

so we are all gutted by han-seo’s death. we’re even more devastated by the fact that we did not get any sort of a mourning scene. now one of two things could be happening here. let me explain with my clown hat on.

one option is that they’re setting up a season two. to not show the conclusion of his death scene, to not give us the time to mourn a beloved character seems too cruel. vincenzo when talking about his island says that its a place for healing. who’s gonna get healed there. we’ve established that both vincenzo and cha-young stand by their actions and that healing, if we can even call it that lies in them finding it in each other. so who is getting healed? obviously one of the most abused characters in the tv show. something about the next shot being vincenzo and cha-young in a hospital room as if nothing has happened doesn't sit well with me. this is wishful thinking but i’m manifesting that han-seo is safe and on an island off the coast of malta with his Vin hyung ready to make his comeback. 

option two is a bittersweet. as i said before, the deaths and aftermaths of the characters reflect the life they’ve lived. yu-chan was the naïve good and he got an entire fucking in remembrance montage. mrs. oh was the i have goodness in my heart but life has beat me down and i have come to accept whatever it throws at me with open fucking arms good and so she got people mourning for her at her funeral. living all her life alone, she wasn’t alone in her death. also the only two good characters got the whole pay our respects at the grave scene but that could also be because they are the parents but bear with me. and subsequently, the evil and bad ones got nothing. 

han-seo lived a life that was neither good nor bad, meaning realistically if we were to follow the trend that i have created, han-seo should get something that resembles both. and that according to writers is a flashback scene that shows how much he has learned, how much he has grown, the brotherly relationship that he has cultivated on his own. it also shows his final act of ‘fuck you’ to his brother. the dream like smiling face is early similar to something that shows up in ‘celebration of life’ videos. 

i will not get into the discourse about how a victim died at the hands of his abuser. because i might explode. i am mad about that but then i think about the reality of it and i have to acknowledge that regardless of being a campy show, vincenzo gave us nothing but hard truths. so i am a conflicted mess.
