currently reading about the quantitative approaches to the study of history; use of historical data, its origin, purpose and associated pitfalls. and dreaming of those early autumn mornings, of walking around the campus in the crisp air, surrounded by golden leaves and the scent of approaching rain. with a dusty old book under my arm, a cup of coffee from a favorite café & leather satchel full of textbooks. 🏛🧦☕️

Marilyn Monroe with hairdresser Kenneth Battelle in 1961. Photos by Eve Arnold. After she came out of the hospital (post-gallbladder surgery), Marilyn called Arnold to photograph her new look, and she later said, “She called me and told me that Good Housekeeping was doing an article on Kenneth, her hairdresser, and that she wanted me to photograph her with Kenneth at her 57th street apartment on the day she came out of the hospital.”
