Empress Maria Feodorovna's dresses (or Minnie's closet)

I have already published a post with some of Minnie's dresses. But Minnie was a fashionista. She loved to dress well, and she had to. After all, she was the face of the monarchy in Russia since Alexander III was less visible to the public than she was. She did a great public relations job and made sure she had the tools...dresses by the latest French designers, shoes, hats, fans, and a lot of jewelry. It seems that Sacha did not mind the huge bills.

So I went looking in her closet and pulled out a few outfits to share with you...there are capes, mourning attire, and visiting/dinner/day dresses. I did not get any ballgowns. I will next time. (gcl)

Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and her dog

I mentioned that Alexandra had a little dog and just wanted to produce some evidence possibly indicating that. So there you go...on the top picture, she is hugging and kissing the little creature. Looking hard, I noticed that a little dog appears in the periphery of some of her photographs; that seems to be Alix's dog. Her name was Eira, and she was a Scotty (she does not look like a Scotty to me but that is what I read.) No primary sources here...all I can offer you is Pinterest and Anna Vyruboba's book "Memories of the Russian Court."
