My Chats with Rafael and Ronen.

Been holding onto this for a little bit. Since we are celebrating Rafael's birthday today, thought it would be the perfect time to shine on him and Ronen as beautiful people.

I'll start with my 1:1 with Rafael since it was the most recent. For me, who is naturally quiet and shy, the most nerve-wracking moment is right before the chat in zoom and the black screen stares at me saying ‘waiting for host.’ The anticipation of waiting had my heart pounding. Wrote out on a flashcard what I would like to say and rehearsed in my head throughout the day cause I’m ridiculous like that. Then came the moment. The host began connecting me, and Rafael’s gorgeous face and smile popped up on my computer screen. At this point, I couldn’t remember from talking to Ronen prior if Rafael could see my name on his end or not so I was prepared to introduce myself as I unmuted. Then his first words, with a smile were, “Who do we have here?” “Ah. Heather, Heather! Hi Heather!”

After introductions, while he was writing down what his surprise autograph message would be, he asked me how I was doing and what I was doing today. Told him today had been great and that I was relaxing to prepare for a chaotic day tomorrow. He became very curious, stopped writing, and asked what I was doing? Explained to him, I lived in Indiana and the big event over Memorial Day weekend was the Indy 500. He knew what it was. Told him I would be volunteering at it and they will be 250,000+ people there hence chaos. His “Oh my God, wow” was a big mood because same. Asked me what I was volunteering for. While trying not to get emotional amd cry explained to him, my dad passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, and he was a registered organ donor. He was able to save 3 people though organ donations and others through tissue donation. Since then I became a bigger advocate for it and would be there raising awareness and educating folks on the importance of having a heart on your license. His heartfelt comments and thank you for being so kind and about did me in. While it was something personal, he was very easy to have a conversation with. Attentive, great listener, engaging. Both guys are all those things in their own way.

I, of course had to tell him how much I loved how passionate he is about the topics he cares about, and that I am always learning something from his instagram stories. In turn he was thankful for my kind words.

Now with Ronen, I met him last year and two ladies were very kind to join with me so helped calm the nerves. My biggest fear was what is called 'dead air' That not knowing how to continue the conversation after the initial question and answer and that we would both stare awkwardly...lol. I should of known with Ronen’s personality,  he wasn’t gonna let that happen and it didn't happen.

After that agonizing wait to be brought into the meeting room, I arrived first and Ronen greeted me with his handsome face and smile. Could feel his energy through the computer screen which was calming. After initial hellos, he took charge of the conversation which put me at ease. Asked me where I was from, how I heard about the convention etc. At this point, the other two ladies had joined. Once each of us got our moment to talk with him, each of us asked him a question.

I asked him what 'moment' he'd like to see next for #Tarlos in season 3. His 1st response was "do you want the PG or PG-13 version?"...lol. We were caught off guard and laughed and said "whatever you want to give us. Then he responded with, "I'll give you the PG-13 version."

He said he wanted to show them waking up together in bed/showing them in bed together having an conversation. Fast forward and we got #Tarlos in bed together, "Marry me", and "Yes, a thousand times, yes!" 

Wrapping up, just within the few minutes I got to spend and chat with both guys, they both were so welcoming, easy to talk to, calming, attentive and thankful which are all important for those of us who are generally more quiet and shy. With Ronen since they were 3 of us, he made sure everyone got a chance to speak if they wanted. No one was left out.

Finally our screenshots were taken with both of them. For those who don't know sign language, Rafael signed "I love you." He was so cute. He told me what it was in case I didn't know.

Anson Mount on theatre roles he'd like to play

When Anson was at Dragon Con in September 2022 promoting Star Trek: Stange New Worlds, a fan in the audience asked him what theatre roles he's always wanted to play.

Anson mentioned Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov (the role of Mikhail Lvovich Astrov, a country doctor), and The Changeling by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley (the role of De Flores, servant to Vermandero). The fan also brought up Shakespeare's Macbeth and Anson said he's played the role of Malcolm (Elder son of Duncan, king of Scotland) before.

In 2020 Anson played Uncle Vanya's Dr. Astrov in a virtual theatre production of the play (gifs here and here).

Uncle Vanya portrays the visit of an elderly professor and his glamorous, much younger second wife, Yelena, to the rural estate that supports their urban lifestyle. Two friends - Vanya, brother of the professor’s late first wife, who has long managed the estate, and Astrov, the local doctor - both fall under Yelena’s spell, while bemoaning the ennui of their provincial existence.

The Changeling is about young Beatrice who is in love with a visiting nobleman, Alsemero. However, her father has already arranged her marriage to Alonzo, another nobleman. Desperate to be with her love, Beatrice enlists the help of De Flores, a cunning but ugly servant, a deceptive man obsessed with her and determined to claim her virtue. While she initially resists him, Beatrice is drawn into lustful complicity with De Flores, and together they set in motion a chain of love, lust, madness, and death.
