Whether you are a professional or amateur photographer it’s important and satisfying to show your work to others. Afterall as visual content creators or artists we want people to connect with our images, the stories we are telling or the emotions we are trying to share.
Not everyone can put together a live gallery showing that requires a physical gallery space, the expense of preparing, framing…

// 1 min 50 sec video piece made for "Patchwork Glitch" an exhibition of narrative-based glitch arts at the ImnotArt Gallery in Chicago. September 1-14, 2023.

A Van Gogh immersive experience is any of a number of real-life or virtual reality (VR) exhibits of Vincent van Gogh's paintings. The for-profit events range across venues, organizers, and cities around the world, though the majority have been held in North America in 2021 and 2022. The events are typically set up in large gallery spaces. Images or videos of the artist's works are projected onto walls, ceilings, and floors, sometimes accompanied by animations, narrations, music, or fragrances.
I am honored to be in Esther Ong Estelle’s “Beyond Binary: Exploring life beyond data” virtual exhibition that just opened and runs through Nov. 30, 2023.
It’s also a delight to share such a creative space with Jeanyoon Choi and John Cheung! Both of these artists present intriguing works that go beyond traditional borders. The clean, pristine presentation of the virtual gallery gives maximum presence to each of the works individually. Very nicely done!

So I've been working on a thing for a good while. It's a virtual museum exhibit titled "APOCALYPSE: Our Earth's History of Extinction and Resilience", built in Twine, that focuses on major extinction events through history and in the modern day. If you're interested in previous chapters in Earth's history and like hypertext/choose-your-own adventure games, consider giving it a whirl.
All the art is custom, done in watercolor, and the music was made by Amorphous (link to their profile in the exhibit's exit page).
(As one might expect given the topic, this can be a bit heavy. I tried to make the experience moving and contemplative, not depressing, but you may want to be mindful when engaging with it.)
