Listen, I need to get something off my chest, and I know this is going to be filed as the most unpopular opinion in the entire Loki fandom but I need to say it:

Loki’s helmet in the earlier movies, the ones with the huge horns, it’s fucking ugly.

I hate it. I CANNOT take it seriously. If I was in that universe and saw that fucking helmet, I’d get murdered on the spot for insulting him. Me in Germany, seeing that grand speech and all? Only thing I’d be able to think about is how fucking ridiculous that helmet is.

I’m sorry, I know this is a criminal act in the Loki fandom but I needed to tell someone and I’d rather not get slaughtered so anon it is.

I can’t be the only one thinking this right?

One of life's great questions on a weekend I see.

You have a valid point, and I for one will not chastise anyone for their costume preference. It is ostentatious and garish but it's very theatrical and Asgardy you must admit.

Having said that, I feel that his helmet in Thor 1/the Avengers had it's pros and cons. The curvature to his bone structure and brow is exquisite...every inch a fancy Prince.

I'll be honest, it's his eyebrows that piss me off in Thor 1 more than the helmet. WHO WAXED HIS BEAUTIFUL BROWS. the audacity. Anyway. Back to the helmet.

For me it lacks a critical element of his Loki-Ness. His hair. And for that reason, I personally favour the later iteration of the helmet with the half covering. More him. I feel like the designers realised it was a missed opportunity for his hair acting. And no way he could pull off this move with that other thing.

I've always felt that on a practical level, the horns are kind of ridiculous. But then, all of their helmets are meant to be ridiculous and theatrical and pompous caricatures of their Asgardian status and personal lore.

Better horns than little wings, that's what I say😂🤘

Disclaimer, I’m not good with words, never have been. So I’ll try and make this quick :)

Super thankful to have stumbled upon each and everyone of your blogs this year. Fanfiction has been my form of escapism this year. There were moments when just waiting for a chapter kept me motivated. Or I’d force myself to finish a task so I could read a chapter as a reward. You guys really helped me throughout the school year hahah. I appreciate how much you guys put into your writing. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You guys dedicate so much time, love, and energy into interacting with readers, keeping your stories updated, and even going as far as writing epilogues for stories that have since been completed and still somehow manage to make those epilogues feel refreshing. I've been a fanfic writer for one year! 🥳🥳🥳

My darlings, my dears, my sweet naughty little cookies and crumpets,

Tomorrow will mark exactly one year since I posted my very first chapter of my very first fic (The Refugee) with shaking hands. I was so nervous to release this thing I loved and labored over so much into the world.

@lokisgoodgirl very kindly and patiently showed me all the ropes and was such a steadfast cheerleader from day one. (I'm so grateful for you, darling). She also opened the door for me to meet all of you incredibly sweet people. When I tell you that you've changed my life, I am not exaggerating. You gave me a place where I am appreciated and belong and can be my very odd self, and that's a rare thing.

Anyway, The Refugee became an absolute behemoth. I had a big complicated world in my head, and its characters and plot lines and themes volleyed around my skull at all times. I didn't expect anyone to be enthralled or obsessed with it like I was, but SO many of you gave it so much love and engagement and time. A year later, that piece is still my magnum opus, and your reception of it has given me a feeling I'm not often good at letting myself have...pride.

I'm a weird little mentally ill perfectionist of a person, trying very hard to be more than that...to be brave, and clever, and hard-working, and adventurous, and kind, and generous and grateful. I want more than anything in life, to create things and experiences that mean something. I want to create art and send it out into the world like a love letter. It's the best of myself and I want you to have it. Thank you for taking the time to see the best of me (especially when I have trouble seeing it for myself). Thank you so so much. I love you all so much and I hope this year gives you as much joy as you've given me.

If I were to start another Loki x Reader WIP (more plot-driven, less smutty) that had Time Travel as a central theme, what should I name it?

Rough Plot Idea: One last-ditch effort to prevent his total sacrifice at the TVA sends Loki careening through the Timelines until he finds what may be the strangest one of all: one where there is only one Realm, gods and heroes are but the subjects of stories, and Loki is nothing more than a silly character played by a rather dashing actor. His only hope comes in the form of the first person he meets, who suggests a mysterious mad Doctor might be his only chance to return home.

Influences for this one include The Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future, and of course, Doctor Who.
