Charlastor was already dead my dude, from the start it had a zero chance of being canon and that's fine. The best we could hope for was a friendship between the two and i'm not surprised Viv went the more paternal route (didn't expect it this early but lol) If Viv went so far as to claim she and Alastor are biologically related I'd understand your point but when it's just Alastor saying she's like a daughter to him and it seems like he's mainly doing it to piss off Lucifer

Even ignoring that it's a little ridiculous to assume every decision is made by Viv as a "take that!" to the fans, Alastor since the pilot was never going to get a romantic interest, chaggie has been canon for awhile and we don't know if this daddy/daughter thing was planned from the start, happened midway, was suggested by someone else, etc. But stop saying they killed your ship with this episode, the ship was dead and never gonna happen anyway. Literally do what you want and ignore canon, it didn't stop ya'll before don't let it stop you now.

I saw another blog bring this up but I think this is important to state.

Vivziepop is actively fucking endangering people by using demonic sigils.

Case in point: a while ago someone on the Helluva subreddit wanted to get Stolas' Sigil as an actual tattoo and only like a 1/3 of the comments were like "HOLY FUCK DO NOT FUCKING DO THIS FOR RELIGIOUS AND SAFETY REASONS"

Like I don't care if you don't believe in the supernatural or whatever. You don't FUCK with this shit. Like even if you ignore the potential issues there's the fact Stolas is a patron for neo pagans.

Like I can understand why Vivziepop uses the sigils in the show somewhat but she should NEVER sell merch with that shit.

Like one shes comidifying religious shit on a show that only us 0.1% related to the Ars Goetia and demonology. This effects people who deal with the supernatural and will make their practices be seen from the outside a some sort of quirky fandom thing and not taken seriously.

She is potentially having people open up entry points for demons.

She is not a practicing neo pagan or worshipper of any patron demons and is stealing from them without any fucking respect. She has no right to profit using their iconography. Like it would be like me using the Star of David to market my show about Jesus.

As someone who heard rumors about how the Lore Olympus fandom attacking actual Hellenists for worshiping Apollo because LO Apollo is a horrible person. What the FUCK do you think Vivziepop's cult would do if they found out someone worships Paimon or pagan worshippers in general having issues with how the Ars Goetia is portrayed?

Not surprising to me that Viv is treating actual demonic sigils as an aesthetic. She has done this before with Alastor’s Hatitan voodoo in the pilot.

Another problem I have with Viv not doing research about demonology and religions is she obviously doesn’t care about respecting these religions and spreading harmful misconceptions about them to her fans who knows nothing about them. Fans think voodoo symbols and demon sigils are just designs because of how Viv treats them in her show and merch.

There is an actual reason why these religions don’t let anyone use these symbols. I don’t care if Viv is an atheist, you still have to respect other’s religions and their rules. From what I heard people who are into demonology and these religions hate the show because of how inaccurate it is. The fans would just ignore or harass them because they dare criticize a show misusing their religion.

Everytime I see vivziepop covering almost all her character designs with THAT ONE SHADE OF RED/PINK, it motivates me to not do that shit and choose different colors

That's one of the things that makes Vivziepop's design feel repetitive. You can tell she doesn't go outside her comfort zone alot. Which is difficult, I get it. I am repetitive with my designs sometimes. But Vivziepop is a show runner who has gone to art college while most people haven't.

Along with body types, hair types, clothing styles, and that shade of Red Viv likes to use ALOT, her designs aren't unique from each other.

I suggest for any artists that you try and differentiate your colors. Now that shade of Red Viv uses could work for the Hotel uniform. If Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, and Nifty wore the same shade of Red as a uniform then it would be fine.

Problem is its on their designs too. Vaggies bow and X, Husks wings, Nifty's hair and eye. Their physical designs are that shade if Red too, making them unique.

I do believe Viv can improve, she just has to be willing to step out of her comfort zone. Please stop using that shade of Red for every color Viv, it's repetitive.

random thought about lavendertowne’s most recent hazbin video

i agree that her first designs weren’t that great, and her redo of those designs are so SO much better i’m obsessed, but as she explained in her hazbin redo video she was going through some stuff and her first video was the best she could manage

and overall that just got me thinking about the pressure on artists online/artists who make a career out of it. when you do something professionally, when you set the bar so high for yourself, it makes it REALLY difficult during times where you have off days, where your work either isn’t up to standards that people expect from you, or gives people who already hate you more of an opportunity to do so

and yes, when you post stuff on the internet, you’re going to open yourself up for criticism no matter the reason. i get it! i’m very critical of stuff too and think critique is incredibly valuable for people to grow as artists! but there’s something to be said at the absolute hate and vitriol thrown her way over…what? subpar designs? that’s it? yes she accidentally drew over fanart but she addressed that and good that she did that!!! but most of the hate was directed toward her redesigns

it makes me think about where i’m at in art school right now, where a good chunk of this semester has been spent on “off days,” where i know i could do SO much better but am just frustrated that i can’t or didn’t for some reason, it makes me think of my art prof who was like “at least you won’t kill people if you make a bad drawing!” which is true but a lot of people online act like you will, it makes me think of beginner artists who get harrassed off the internet or even harrassed out of doing art entirely just because their art is exactly where they should be as beginners

and i know lavendertowne isn’t a beginner at ALL, i know she has an art degree, i know she’s successful and this ultimately won’t affect her career all that much and i know she has some flaws in her art that i’ve grown to notice as i got older and i know i’m HEAVILY biased as a longtime viewer of hers, but i just want to make connections to a broader topic on how the internet is with artists and content creators as a whole
