Trieste, presentata la mostra "Histri in Istria" al museo di antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" La mostra "Histri in Istria", un progetto per far conoscere il popolo degli Istri: per la prima volta in Italia 240 reperti archeologici è stata presentata oggi (giovedì 14 dicembre) al Museo di Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" di Trieste nel corso di una conferenza stampa introdotta dall'Assessore comunale alle Politiche della Cultura e del Turismo, Giorgio Rossi con Stefano Bianchi, Responsabile dei Musei Storici e Artistici del Comune di Trieste e Marzia Vidulli Torlo, Conservatore del Museo d'Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" alla presenza di Damir Murkovic, Presidente della Comunità Croata di Trieste, della referente per il Museo Archeologico dell'Istria, Maja Čuka e della curatrice, Martina Blečić Kavur. Oltre 200 reperti archeologici per scoprire il popolo che ha dato il nome alla penisola istriana e che ne ha abitato le terre fino alla caduta del centro fortificato di Nesazio nel 177 a.C. si potranno ammirare da domani, venerdì 15 dicembre, al Museo di Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" di Trieste, esposti per la prima volta in Italia per la mostra "Histri in Istria", realizzata dalla Comunità Croata di Trieste/Hrvatska Zajednica u Trstu insieme al Museo Archeologico dell'Istria/Arheološki Muzej Istre u Puli, in coorganizzazione con il Comune di Trieste. Identità visiva e allestimento di Vjeran Juhas. Curata da Martina Blečić Kavur, Univerza na Primorskem/Università del Litorale Koper/Capodistria, la mostra inaugurata oggi, giovedì 14 dicembre, alle ore 17.30 alla presenza del Sindaco di Trieste, Roberto Dipiazza insieme all'Assessore alle Politiche della Cultura e del Turismo, Giorgio Rossi, del Vicesindaco di Pola, Bruno Cergnul, del Presidente della Comunità Croata di Trieste, Damir Murkovic, della referente per il Museo Archeologico dell'Istria, Maja Čuka, del Responsabile dei Musei Storici e Artistici del Comune di Trieste, Stefano Bianchi e della Conservatrice del Museo d'Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann, Marzia Vidulli Torlo. Allestita nel Museo di piazza della Cattedrale, 1 nelle sale al secondo piano, la mostra è volta a diffondere la conoscenza dell'antico popolo di origini indoeuropee che ha abitato la penisola istriana durante l'età del bronzo. "Histri in Istria" resterà aperta al pubblico fino al 1° aprile 2024, da martedì a domenica, dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 17.00. "Con questa mostra che presentiamo oggi – ha affermato l'Assessore alle politiche della Cultura e del Turismo, Giorgio Rossi - e che essendo nato a Umago non può non avere per me un significato particolare, prosegue il dialogo virtuoso tra le contermini regione istriana e il Friuli Venezia Giulia su iniziativa della Comunità Croata di Trieste e in sinergia con il Comune di Trieste". "Un percorso favorito dalla Comunità Croata di Trieste e condiviso con importanti realtà museali della Croazia - ha concluso Rossi - a garanzia della qualità dei progetti culturali transfrontalieri che l'Amministrazione comunale di Trieste coorganizza con entusiasmo e attenzione". Stefano Bianchi, Responsabile dei Musei Storici e Artistici del Comune di Trieste ha sottolineato come si tratti di "un momento importante per il Museo d'Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" sia perché mette in relazione le collezioni permanenti con quelle provenienti dal Museo Archeologico dell'Istria di Pola, che in quanto si inserisce all'interno di un percorso molto articolato iniziato nel 2028 in coorganizzazione tra il Comune di Trieste e la Comunità Croata di Trieste/Hrvatska Zajednica u Trstu". "Attraverso la realizzazione di questo progetto – ha dichiarato Damir Murkovic, presidente della Comunità Croata di Trieste/Hrvatska Zajednica u Trstu – abbiamo voluto fornire un importante contributo conoscitivo e culturale a un pubblico eterogeneo: agli appassionati di preistoria e archeologia e, più in generale a tutti coloro che amano l'arte; ci rivolgiamo soprattutto ai ragazzi e agli studenti, che potranno cogliere in questi reperti elementi di riflessione per la loro crescita culturale e umana. Si tratta del secondo dei tre eventi espositivi che la Comunità Croata di Trieste/Hrvatska Zajednica u Trstu sta realizzando in coorganizzazione con il Comune di Trieste e, in quest'occasione, con il Museo Archeologico dell'Istria (AMI) di Pola/Arheološki Muzej Istre u Puli, con il sostegno della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia". "La prima mostra – ha ricordato Murkovic – allestita da novembre 2018 a febbraio 2019, era dedicata al popolo degli Iapodes o Giapidi - "Iapodes. Il misterioso popolo degli altipiani dell'Europa centrale" - e ha fatto registrare oltre 8000 visitatori. L'appuntamento conclusivo sarà quello con i Liburni, ai quali verrà dedicata una mostra prevista nel 2024/2025". Intervenendo a nome di Darko Komšo, direttore del Museo Archeologico dell'Istria/Arheološki Muzej Istre u Puli, la referente Maja Čukaha voluto ringraziare tutti gli enti coinvolti nell'organizzazione e i tecnici che si sono dedicati all'allestimento della mostra. Ha detto infine di sentirsi "particolarmente onorata di essere presenta alla conferenza stampa di una mostra che illustrale tradizioni di questo patrimonio non solo croato, ma universale e soprattutto che sia Trieste la prima città al di fuori della Croazia a ospitare una mostra sulla civiltà degli Istri", che hanno segnato la storia dell'Adriatico settentrionale nell'età del ferro, non solo del'Istria ma di un territorio molto più vasto, che comprendeva luoghi dell'attuale Friuli Venezia Giulia. "La cultura dell'età del ferro degli Istri" – ha osservato la curatrice della mostra, Martina Blečić Kavur - si può correttamente definire come una civiltà. Si tratta di un popolo che ha ottenuto il suo giusto posto sulla scena storica, ma anche di un popolo che ha avuto un ruolo importante nelle correnti culturali non solo del nord Adriatico e del suo entroterra, ma anche di tutto il bacino adriatico. Il loro patrimonio archeologico è davvero impressionante, ricco e splendido. Attesta sia lo status della popolazione stessa, sia i contatti culturali con i popoli del mondo antico, specialmente con gli Italici e i Greci. L'abbondanza di oggetti di cultura materiale ci introdurranno nel magico mondo degli Histri in Istria. La mostra comprende dunque ciò che al momento sappiamo degli Istri, della loro cultura del vivere, resa attraverso i riti e le regole di sepoltura, e rispecchiata specularmente da oggetti rappresentativi della loro ricca cultura materiale". Un pensero è stato rivolto infine "all'ex-curatrice Kristina Mihovilić, che l'anno scorso ci ha lasciato. L'idea di organizzare una grande mostra sugli Istri è stata sua e l'abbiamo realizzata nel 2013 a Pola e successivamente a Medolino". "Il Museo d'Antichità J.J. Winckelmann – ha sottolineato infine Marzia Vidulli Torlo, Conservatore del Museo d'Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" – ospita con grande piacere la mostra sugli Istri" "seconda tappa della trilogia dedicata ai popoli protostorici della Croazia, dopo quella sugli Iapodes proveniente dal Museo di Zagabria. In questa occasione i materiali della mostra arricchiscono il museo appartenendo alla stessa koinè culturale e si inseriscono, non solo fisicamente, tra le sale trovando corrispondenza in quelli del percorso espositivo, riflettendo forme e decorazioni. Infatti, per ragioni storiche, le prime ricerche e i primi scavi in Istria sono stati condotti dai curatori e direttori dei musei triestini, fin dal 1904 quando, in località Pizzughi/Picugi, Carlo Marchesetti indagò le necropoli di tre castellieri posti in vista del mare presso Parenzo/Poreč e questi reperti sono esposti permanentemente in una sala del primo piano". La mostra sugli Istri, realizzata in collaborazione con il Museo Archeologico dell'Istria di Pola/Arheološki Muzej Istre u Puli e in coorganizzazione con il Comune di Trieste, è al suo primo allestimento in Italia. È incentrata su storia, usi e costumi degli Istri, il popolo che ha dominato la vicina penisola istriana dal XII secolo a.C. fino alla definitiva conquista romana avvenuta nel 177 a.C. Attraverso un percorso visuale ed espositivo, allestito nelle sale al secondo piano del Museo di Antichità "J.J. Winckelmann" di Trieste, i visitatori possono ammirare oltre 200 reperti, tra i più significativi del patrimonio artistico e culturale istriano, che sono stati oggetto di allestimento nel 2013 nello spazio espositivo "Sacri Cuori" a Pola. I reperti presentati sono il risultato di lunghe attività di ricerca e di attenti scavi archeologici nelle ricche necropoli e tombe degli Istri: provengono da tutta l'Istria, ma soprattutto dalla capitale del regno degli Istri, Nesazio, e poi da Pizzughi e dal Castelliere di Leme. Sono oggetti che ci parlano degli usi e costumi di questo popolo e della sua cultura dell'aldilà. Fulcro della mostra è la tomba esplorata nelle fondamenta del tempio romano B, nel 1981 a Nesazio, ricca di materiale archeologico. Tra i reperti certamente oggetto di interesse per i visitatori si segnalano le situle e un esemplare di imbarcazione che si fa risalire al 1200 a.C. L'arte della situla: le situle sono vasi di bronzo con decorazioni floreali o raffiguranti momenti di vita quotidiana, come la caccia o le battaglie navali. Un'arte di cui si trovano testimonianze non solo in Istria ma anche in Slovenia e nel nord Italia, tra i Veneti e le popolazioni alpine, e in Europa centrale. La nave degli Istri: rinvenuta 10 anni fa a due metri di profondità nel mare di Zambrattia, un villaggio del comune di Umago nell'Istria del nord, rappresenta uno dei più antichi esemplari di imbarcazione del Mediterraneo. Lunga circa 10 metri, è fatta risalire al 1200 a.C., è uno dei pochi esempi rappresentativi di una tecnica di costruzione utilizzata in un'epoca così antica: l'imbarcazione è costruita senza chiodi e le sue tavole di legno sono assemblate soltanto con cordame. Accompagnerà la mostra una serie di eventi collaterali che si svolgeranno presso la Sala Bobi Bazlen di Palazzo Gopcevich da metà gennaio a fine marzo. "Le prime ricerche e i primi scavi in Istria - come ricordato da Marzia Vidulli - sono stati condotti dai curatori e direttori dei musei triestini; così nel 1904 in località Pizzughi/Picugi, Carlo Marchesetti indagò le necropoli di tre castellieri posti in vista del mare presso Parenzo/Poreč e questi reperti sono esposti permanentemente in una sala del primo piano". Sono stati poi Alberto Puschi e Piero Sticotti, ambedue direttori del Museo d'Antichità di Trieste, a compiere nei primi decenni del Novecento le prime indagini archeologiche nel sito di Visazze/Vizače, ritrovando la prova che lì era lo storico oppido di Nesazio, quello ricordato da Tito Livio quando narrava la seconda Guerra Istrica, che portò alla conquista romana di tutta l'Istria (testimoniato dal ritrovamento dell'iscrizione dedicata a Gordiano III da parte della Res Publica Nesactiensium). Una selezione dei materiali allora ritrovati e che subito tratti dallo scavo costituirono il nascente museo di Pola, accanto ad altri di scavi più recenti, compongono le sezioni della mostra ospitate al secondo piano. I materiali della mostra trovano inoltre ancora un'altra corrispondenza con quelli esposti dal museo e nello specifico con la sezione dei vasi Magnogreci: questi ultimi provengono dal collezionismo triestino ottocentesco, in un naturale rapporto di contatti marittimi mercantili. La mostra degli Istri documenta come la relazione tra la Puglia e l'alto Adriatico trovi eco però già nel primo millennio avanti Cristo testimoniata dai vasi di produzione apula rinvenuti in tombe di Nesazio del V-IV secolo a.C., ma già anche nei quattro secoli precedenti.... #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article

Microsoft is heavily invested in OpenAI. I can’t imagine they’re happy about how this went down.

The blue versus green bubble debate may finally be winding down. Apple says, in 2024, the iPhone will add support for RCS messaging, the messaging standard used by most Android phones, according to a report from 9to5Mac.

I hope Apple builds this as a separate app. Keep those blue and green bubbles separate. If they do it gives them a chance to build something new in SwiftUI from the word go. That would be really nice to see.

If they have to make it part of Messages hopefully they do it in a way that doesn’t totally screw up the Messages UI.

Oh, and I really hope they keep their own messaging platform.

I’m so down with this and am hopeful Andretti Cadillac are given a charter. American racing needs to have a presence it what some see as the premier racing league in the world. There are only 20 drivers in the F1 world today. Two drivers from each of 10 teams. Expanding the grid by two would be amazing, and having an American company producing power units for that team would be absolutely incredible. Here’s hoping Haas does a deal with Ford. 😃

Automattic’s recent announcement that Tumblr is being put into maintenance mode feels like the end of a personal era. Tumblr wasn’t just another social network; it was a cultural phenomenon, a haven for the eclectic and the expressive, where the internet’s fringes found a voice and a community.

I’d hate to see Tumblr disappear. It’s different than WordPress or Facebook or Mastodon or any other blogging platform. It has a different feel to it that’s difficult to describe but Joan’s use of eclectic is a great choice. We need networks like that on the web.

UPDATED, with White House comment: TikTok announced today that it was removing videos that have popped up on the platform in which users of various ages and ethnicities promote Osama bin Laden‘s “Letter to America,” which he had written to justify the attacks on 9/11.

I’ve never seen the video or read the transcript but I’d imagine it lays out his point in a way which makes perfect sense. The problem is, the man was a terrorist. He was all about exterminating the west and western culture. These folks are true believers and they put their money where their mouth is by killing innocent people to further their views.

Earlier in the week I said we were lucky on January 6 when the Capitol was stormed. Those folks were not serious people or it would’ve gotten much, much, worse and they wouldn’t have left.

I feel like the Christian Nationalist movement is on the path to becoming an American terrorist organization and they want to run the nation. Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s what Gaza has/had with Hamas in charge.

A theocracy in the United States will not work.

The next step was to give this new product a name. After several weeks of trial and error we landed on “xScope”. The “X” worked for both the operating system and the “examination” done by the tool. All the assets and websites were put in place and we got ready to launch with our unique tool with a unique name.

A hearty congratulations to one of my favorite companies in the world! I’ve been a user of xScope for a number of years now and it’s extremely handy for looking at screen layouts at the pixel level.

On Wednesday at the Microsoft Ignite conference, Microsoft announced two custom chips designed for accelerating in-house AI workloads through its Azure cloud computing service: Microsoft Azure Maia 100 AI Accelerator and the Microsoft Azure Cobalt 100 CPU.

This is really cool and exciting! I hope Microsoft realizes performance boosts and energy savings in their Azure data centers.

Now, how do I get one for my desktop Windows computer. 😁

The iOS UI framework landscape shifted in 2019 with the introduction of SwiftUI, a first-party declarative UI framework that accomplishes many of the same goals as Epoxy. Although SwiftUI was not a good fit for our needs during its first three years, by 2022 it offered increased stability and API availability. It was around this time that we started to consider adopting SwiftUI at Airbnb.

This will be fun to monitor. Airbnb tried to adopt React Native a few years back and abandoned the effort in favor of native development.

I have a feeling SwiftUI will stick. If you’re an iOS shop you don’t really have any choice. 😁

There are plenty of amazing software developers working at smaller shops because they can’t get past these types of interviews.

I’d managed to get an interview with Google in 2018-19 timeframe and canceled it when I was told I’d have to study for a couple weeks before interviewing. I was given links to algorithms and other materials to prepare for the interview. I was also assigned a mentor to help me prepare. 😳

The job was working on Chrome for iOS.

I canceled the interview.

Employees frustrated with their CEOs’ return-to-office mandates have tried arguing that remote work is linked with greater productivity. That it helps the environment with fewer commutes and improves diversity by broadening the talent pool. Now, they may have another argument to get their CEOs’ attention: Higher revenue growth.

More support for the remote work lifestyle. When I read articles like this I always think about the other articles I’ve read about working from home being the devil.

Working from home works for me but not for everyone. I’ve even considered going into the office one to two days a week just for a change of pace. Kim asked me “Are you that desperate to get COVID again?” the other day when I mentioned possibly going into work one day next week. She’s not wrong. I definitely do not want COVID again. I got COVID in 2022 at a group onsite and was exposed to COVID at a recent onsite. My luck at the office hasn’t been great.

I’d like to see some crossover between NASCAR and F1. Let’s start with Kyle Larson in an F1 ride and go from there. Maybe he could drive for Haas or the new Andretti Cadillac team? 😃
