The Minnesota Twins blew a ninth inning lead only to walk-off the Blue Jays in the tenth last night to even the series. The series continued on a rainy night at Target Field this evening. The Twins got the scoring started in the third inning when Sandy Leon led-off with a walk. Luis Arraez lined a double to right and Byron Buxton plated a run on a groundout to third base. With two outs, Jorge Polanco hit a run-scoring single to right to put the Twins up by a pair of runs. The Jays would answer right away in the fourth as Teoscar Hernandez led-off with a double. Bo Bichette knocked a Dylan Bundy fastball out to left for a two-run homer to even the game at two. The Twins would respond in the fifth with a Luis Arraez lead-off double. He reached third on a groundball and Jorge Polanco doubled in a run to give Minnesota a 3-2 lead. Jose Miranda added one in the sixth when he blasted a Tim Mayza fastball into the bullpens for a solo homer. Nick Gordon followed with a single and stole second base. He went to third on a groundball and Sandy Leon laid down a suicide bunt. Tim Mayza tried to flip the ball home and got hurt on the play. Gordon scored to extend the Twins lead to three after six innings of play. The Jays tried to inch closer when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led-off with a single. Alejandro Kirk walked and a fielder’s choice moved up the lead runner. Bo Bichette hit an RBI single to center and the Jays were within two runs. The Twins got back to work in the bottom of the eighth. Nick Gordon led-off with a walk and Jake Cave tripled him home. With one out, Luis Arraez lined a run-scoring single to center and the Twins had a four-run lead heading into the ninth inning. Jorge Lopez had a scoreless ninth and the Twins took their second straight game of this series tonight. 

-Final Thoughts- Dylan Bundy only last four innings on a humid night. He went four innings and allowed two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and a walk. I don’t understand why the starters aren’t going deeper into games. Trevor Megill had a 1-2-3 fifth, MIchael Fulmer got hte first two outs of the sixth, and Caleb Thielbar got four big outs. Griffin Jax got the first out of the eighth and Jhoan Duran got out of the eighth. Jorge Lopez struck out two in a clean ninth. Luis Arraez led the way with three hits on the night. Jorge Polanco, Jose Miranda, and Nick Gordon all had two hits each. The Twins hit 3-for-16 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. Tomorrow, Kevin Gausman faces Chris Archer in the series finale.

Drarry Tag Game

When did you get into Drarry and why? Sometime near the middle/end of 2012. I was a Sirry person at first. Not that I didn’t think I’d like Drarry, but as far as writing, I figured everything with the pairing had probably already been written and so it would be arrogant of me to jump in and start writing them myself. (I had weird ideas idk.) I read a little Drarry here and there that year, but it was beta’ing Shelly’s hd_hols fic, Swish and Flick that first got me interested in reading Drarry.

Which Drarry fic hooked you? ignatiustrout’s ( @6balls ) Here’s the Pencil, Make It Work. It made me want to be a Drarry writer, like for real. It made me want to improve my writing in general and take it more seriously and see what I could do if I put more of myself into it. That fic is fucking amazing.

Top three A LOT favorite Drarry fics: This is an evil question. I need at least four because @bixgirl1 is going to get two spots just for herself. So yes, That Old Black Magic and In the Red (Let it be known that I could name eight more easy.) This is where it gets evil. Can I just name everything written by @shealwaysreads and @the-starryknight ?? And also birdsofshore?? Is that cheating? Can I sneak Modern Love by @tackytigerfic in too? And their one with the mpreg because my heart!!! And The Light More Beautiful by @firethesound ? Written on the Heart by who-la-hoop! dirtynumbangelboy by @magpiefngrl ! God, this is torture. Obviously I can’t answer this question properly and more importantly I refuse to.

Why can’t you quit them? Wrong question, why should I try??

Okay but…

I love exploring the choices we make, the ones that lead us into places of guilt, anguish, hopelessness, and the ones that lead us out of them. I love the idea that these two people can find each other in the worst of circumstances and be changed by one another.

I think @phoebe-delia mentioned about how she’s come to realize her best is enough through Drarry, and I feel similarly sometimes too.

Also enemies-to-lovers is and will always be SO HOT.

Ideal career for Harry? For Draco? Harry: lay-about. Seriously, I just want him to be enough as-is. But when he’s bored with that, how about teacher, or counselor. I’d love Harry as a Mind Healer. Also doing philanthropy. For Draco: Arithmancer, something super smart and magic-y. I also like philanthropist for him though. Or Muggle stuff, so he gains an appreciation for Muggles.

Harry and Draco are being sent to a desert island for a week with plenty of food and water. Each is allowed to bring three additional items (no wands). What do they bring? Harry: a Snitch, a broom, extra biscuits (he’s afraid ‘plenty of food’ did not include biscuits); Draco: a Wireless, a beach umbrella, and yeah, I really like @kbrick ’s lube answer. Definitely lube.

Favorite non-Drarry HP character? My darling boy, Teddy Lupin.

If you had to pick one, enemies to lovers or (enemies to) friends to lovers? Okay but listen: enemies to lovers to friends who are lovers.

Would you rather read a fic that made you laugh or one that made you cry? A lot of laughing, a little bit of crying. More laughing than crying, but give me both, dude.

Twins Walk-Off Jays On Bad Throw!

Blue Jays 5 Twins 6 W-Fulmer (4-4) L-Romano (3-3)

The Minnesota Twins bullpen collapsed in the eighth inning last night when they allowed six run. The Blue Jays routed the Twins and they looked to get back to action tonight at Target Field. The Twins struck first in the third inning when Mark Contreras smoked a Jose Berrios curveball out to left-center. The ball kept carrying out for a solo homer and Minnesota had the first lead. Carlos Correa started another Twins rally with a lead-off double in the fourth. Jorge Polanco drew a walk and Jose Miranda singled home a run to double the lead. The next batter, Nick Gordon walloped a Jose Berrios change-up out to right for a three-run home run. This capped off a four-run fourth that put the Twins up by five runs. The Jays finally figured out Tyler Mahle in the fifth when Matt Chapman drilled a cutter out to left-center for a solo homer. Toronto was on the board and within four midway through the game. The Blue Jays kept inching closer in the sixth with a Santiago Espinal homer off a Tyler Mahle offering. Whit Merrifield followed with a single and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. blasted a Tyler Mahle slider out to center. The two-run shot pulled the Jays within a run after six frames. Griffin Jax struck out the side in the seventh and Jhoan Duran had a scoreless eighth. Jorge Lopez would get into some trouble in the ninth though. It all started with a Bo Bichette one-out single to left and Danny Jansen kept the game alive with a two-out base hit to right. Raimel Tapia dumped a run-scoring single into the left to tie the game at five. Yimi Garcia got out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth and we headed into extra innings. Michael Fulmer got out of a bases loaded jam to get into the bottom of the tenth. Jake Cave led-off with a strikeout and wild pitch. Danny Jansen’s throw was wild, so Cave was save at first base. Tim Beckham followed and hit a groundball to third base. Matt Chapman made a one hop throw home that Danny Jansen couldn’t hold onto. Nick Gordon scored the winning run and the Twins walked-off the Jays tonight. 

-Final Thoughts- Tyler Mahle had a decent Twins debut. He went six innings and allowed four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and a walk. The sixth inning got away from him, but he was solid other than that. Griffin Jax struck out the side in the seventh and Jhoan Duran had a scoreless eighth. Jorge Lopez blew the save in the ninth and Michael Fulmer got in and out of trouble in the tenth. Nick Gordon led the way with three hits on the night and Carlos Correa added two hits. The Twins hit 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position and left eleven men on base. The Twins evened up a series in a hectic win. Tomorrow, Mitch White faces Dylan Bundy in Game 3.
