I cut my hair short again (maybe mainly for a Harrow cosplay photoshoot🙈), and I made a list of impressive DIY tasks I can perform reasonably well. It goes as follows:
Paint tiles
install faucets (sink and wall)
lay tongue and groove vinyl floor and PVC
install standard ceiling lamps
install washing machines
paint walls
paste wallpaper borders
apply silicone in grouts
repaint furniniture, doors, doorframes...
replace a phone battery
replace a phone power button
replace a laptop drive
hang shelves, curtain rods etc. onto walls (the solid European kind of wall)
use a jigsaw
assemble furniture
change an odor trap on a sink
simple upholstery

Haunted House Inspo & Vocab
The haunted house kept its ghosts for the same reason people keep a strong dog, to guard and to love, to ease the lonely hours.
In that historic home there was a haunting of the old fashioned kind. The remedy is light rather than any incantation. Yet not all at once, not the flourishing of window coverings, yet as their slow removal until the ghosts feel safe to let themselves evaporate, to leave the house in good and loving hands.
In that haunted house Jessy held out her hands, soaking up the ghosts that screamed, drawing them into her blood. She felt them circulate right through her heart and become ever quieter whispers.
The spirits come to process the pain of the haunted house, to show it can invite its own ghosts to leave, to teach it how to feel safe once more in the world that is every day reality for everyone else.
The ghost you see is attempting to bring light into the haunted house with her gentle glow. For this reason she has long shunned her own passage to the light, to pass on, to help the house recover and find its good future. So show them that you are that person, that you are the good keeper of the keys, and the house will be forever free of these guardian spirits.

小红书 Vocab
小红书 (also referred to as xiaohongshu or XHS) is a Chinese image-based social media platform. It is a combination of the feed, likes, shopping, and video aspects of instagram, with the ~aesthetics~ and majority female audience of pintrest. I've grown really fond of it and found that it's algorithm is better than instagram and MUCH better than pintrest with giving me content I enjoy.
I'm going to offer some vocab that is either unique to the platform, or slang that is found on the platform (esp in bullet comments). I don't want this to be too long, so some terms may be omitted if they are found on many other social media apps
APP
小红书: Literally "Little Red Book". Probably a play off of Chairman Mao's book of speeches and writings which is also referred to as the Little Red Book. The app is not at all political, but more so trying to evoke the "essentiality" and "knowledge" aspect of the term.
笔记: Notes. XHS's name for its posts

上岸: Similar to "Goals". Usually posted to applaud an achievement/amazing life experience
巨: Super. Usually used in describing really tasty food “巨巨巨好吃”

Patty's Pasteries
Argyle x Reader
Warning(s): None
Summary: Crushing on your regular
Word Count: 1.1K
++++
After five grueling months of construction, Patty's Pastries had finally opened across the street from Surfer Boy Pizza. But it was all worth it, especially when Argyle could run over and get something sweet during his breaks. He loved pizza, but sometimes his munchies called for something savory and high in sugar.
Walking inside; it was as cutesy on the inside as it looked on the outside. The walls consisted of blue wallpaper and white flowers, while the floor was checkered in a similar color scheme. There were a few booths, but they were all empty despite only being a little past two pm.
The closer Argyle stepped to the cash register, the more his mouth began to water at the divine scent of freshly baked pastries. A cute little sign with 'please ring' sat beside a polished silver bell. Bringing his hand out, he tapped the top of the bell curve and waited.
There was a crashing sound along with curses being heard from the back. Argyle's eyebrows rose in concern as a small muffled argument had arisen before it became silent. Argyle strained his ears and listened as a bang of a metal pan was heard before the double doors finally opened.
"Shut up! And don't you dare burn my kolache rolls, or it's your ass!" you hissed as you walked from the kitchen to the front of the bakery with your back towards Argyle.
"Hello, welcome to Patty's Pasteries. " Looking up, you made eye contact with a pair of pretty brown eyes as you finished drying your hands on your apron. "H--how can I help you?"
Argyle could feel his mouth dry up at the sight of you. Your face had a lovely gleam of sweat from standing near hot ovens. Flower had covered the majority of your apron while a streak had also somehow smeared across your cheek. Overall you looked like a hot mess, but to Argyle, you looked like an absolute angel.
"Are you okay? I can, like, totally come back another time." Argyle pointed his thumb towards the exit as he continued to eye the state you were in. "N-no! You're fine. Just my dumb coworker not knowing the difference from a cannoli to the stick in her ass," you scowled.
Your eyes widened at the realization that you were acting very unprofessional to a customer, and you instantly straightened up. "I'm so sorry. Uhm. What would you like?" A smile slowly crept on his lips the longer he looked at you.
"I don't really know. This is my first time here. Do you know what's good for a case of some munchies?" Your lips quirked up, and you leaned against the counter to get a better look at him. Argyle could feel his skin heat up at how closely you looked at him.
"I think you'd like one of our puff pastry berry pinwheels. You can choose between orange, strawberry, or my personal favorite cherry."
As Argyle began to think about his choices, it gave you time to study him. He was pretty pleasing to the eye. His long silky black hair, soft brown eyes, and his pillowy soft looking plump lips that happened to be moving–
"I'm sorry. What did you say?" You could feel yourself begin to flush after openly staring at him.
"Oh, I just said that. I think I'll try the cherry one. I mean, if you recommend it, then it should be pretty tasty," he said, not realizing how you had looked at him. You smiled and began to package his order of three pinwheels; you also decided to throw in a jumbo-sized chocolate chip cookie.
"Oh, I didn't order the cookie…unless I did?" he questioned himself. You smiled, knowing that his mind was most likely faded as he enjoyed his high.
"Don't worry, it's free." You laughed and rung him up. His eyes brightened up, and his smile grew.
"Oh wow. Thanks, dude!" He dug in his wallet and placed the money in your hands. His thick California accent came through with his vocab.
+++
Argyle soon started to come in more and more, always asking for a recommendation, which you happily obliged. You always made sure to be the one to help him when he came in; even if the store was chaotic, you always took your time to help him specifically.
It didn't take long for you to start harboring feelings for him and vice versa. The two of you were making heart eyes whenever the other was around. You were also about 95% sure that he liked you back, especially when he looked at you with awe and admiration.
The next time he came in, you had insisted that he sit down since you had something special for him.
You had a small white box in your hands before you sat it down in front of him. Sitting on the other side, you waited for him to open it. Five decent-sized puff pastries were powdered to perfection sat and stared up at him.
"Woah, these look good," he said, looking between you and the box. "They taste even better. Here," reaching in the package, you pulled one out and placed it near his lips. His eyebrows shot up, but he shrugged and leaned in. He took a big bite and pulled back as his eyes widened.
"That's so good!" His eyes closed as he chewed the dessert.
"I know how much you love pineapple, so I made something that I thought you'd enjoy," you said, popping the remaining pastry in your mouth. His eyes had unintentionally drifted to your lips as you sucked the powder sugar from your thump and forefinger.
You watched as his Adam's apple bobbed and couldn't help but smile in delight. You were now 99% sure that he liked you back.
"Hey, Argyle?" Your voice had made him finally look up from your lips to your eyes.
"Y-yeah?" You couldn't help but smile at his little voice crack. "Do you want to go on a date?" You suddenly felt shy as the words fell from your lips and began to fiddle with the corner of the box. Peeking up through your lashes, you could see a blush on his tanned cheeks. His lips were parted as he processed what you had asked.
"No pressure, if you don't want to–"
"No! I mean, yes! I am like totally down to go on a date with you." He reached over and held your hands. His cheeks flushed against his complexion, which caused you to smile. His smile only grew the longer he looked at you. Ducking your head into your chest, you smiled at your entwined fingers.
Your heart was beating a mile a minute knowing that you were right and that he actually liked you back.
"So, pick me up at six?"

My Japanese language journey update: I went ahead and did something I’ve been a little nervous about for a while - I’ve made a patreon account for Japanese learning resources that I create.
Recently, I’ve rarely been active over here and that’s because I’ve had to put my Japanese studies on the back burner due to various responsibilities. I want to focus more on my studies and keep up with posting about various Japanese things.
This lovely Japanese langblr community here made me realize that a lot of people are struggling with the same things that I used to and still do struggle with. So I want to share with you all what helped me with those things that seem to take forever to remember and even after they’ve been memorized, seem to disappear from memory if left unrevised for a while.
I have two points of focus with the art that I’ll be creating:
To make it easier to remember kanji that look very similar and are easier to confuse
To better retain that kanji in one’s memory after it’s been memorized so it’s less likely to be forgotten if left unrevised
Let me tell you a little about the patreon aspect of it:
What you get if you subscribe to my patreon:
Printable kanji artwork that will help fix them in your mind with focus on the differing radicals.
Vocabulary lists with those kanji.
What you should do with that:
Print out the kanji artwork and hang it up around the house, post it on your refrigerator, put it up where you’ll see it daily
Make it your laptop/phone wallpaper. Rotate in, a new kanji wallpaper every week.
Why would this help memorize kanji?
Well, it helped me. I’m a strongly visual learner and this is pretty much the only way I can remember kanji long term. All the rehearsing and practicing and reading only goes so far when you end up taking a long break from learning Japanese. After years of studying, I still sometimes have trouble even telling apart similar-looking kanji. It’s one of the biggest reasons why I make errors with reading kanji, and this is especially problematic in JLPT when they purposely give you a list of confusing words to choose from. The kanji that remain with me after not touching Japanese for months are the ones that I used this technique with of making distinctive, colourful artwork and posting it around the house.
Why am I making these resources?
Because I wish someone was making these when I first started learning Japanese - it would have fast-tracked my learning by a lot. When I first encountered the barrage of kanji while preparing for N5 and N4, I used to make them in a hurry on paper because there wasn’t enough time to make and study both. I always have enjoyed writing kanji, and creating art related to it; now I can share it with those who have been looking for the same thing I was.
The sort of posts you expect on my patreon in the near future:
Besides the usual posts, I often make season/festival/any major current event related content so one thing you can expect in the coming couple of weeks — Spooky vocab series on mythical creatures in Japan
Will I still be active on Tumblr?
Yes, very much so. I will still be discussing grammar points on here, answering asks, making random Japanese-related posts, etc. No way I’m leaving this awesome langblr community.
………………………………………………………………………………....
Here is the link to my patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sangetsuei
................................................................................................
So that’s all for now! I hope you’ll check out my patreon page and join me there if possible. If there’s anything more you wanna know, please feel free to talk to me about it - preferably in the form of an ask so I can post the answer on my tumblr, but you can also message me.
If you follow my blog over here on Tumblr and decide to subscribe to my patreon, you can also send me an ask here on Tumblr (anonymous or otherwise) with any kanji you’d like me to post. I look forward to hearing from you!
Edit: After worrying about making sure my patreon was perfect before I launch it, and reading and re-reading this post before posting it to make sure there aren’t any errors, wouldn’t you know it, I uploaded the unfinished image for that ‘kanji’ art. I’ve corrected it now so I’m afraid I’m gonna ask you awesome people who reblogged this post to delete the previous reblog and reblog this one instead because the kanji is incomplete (and therefore incorrect) in the previous one. I can’t even believe the irony of getting ‘kanji’ wrong in a post announcing my kanji-focused patreon. I’m gonna go hide in a cave now for several days, thank you.

이사 (Moving On) [lyrics+vocab]
As requested by anon!
Ayo SUGA
Ayo Suga, do you remember when we first came here 3 years ago?
That time when we used to beat each other up
The house where wallpapers, the bathroom and the veranda were all blue
Then I thought that it was a really big house
But my ambitions grew a lot
The new house that looked so big has become a lot smaller
17pyeong, 9 trainees like small kids
It seems like it was yesterday but we’ve grown up quite a lot
Good thing were always somebody else’s
We couldn’t speak because of worries about the uncertain future
We would choke up looking at sunbaes during the award ceremonies
Let’s not forget those pitful memories and keep them
This place has our smell, let’s not forget it wherever we may be
We cried and laughed a lot but it was all quite beautiful
Thank you, 3rd floor Nohyeon-dong

Fight right here 치고 받기도 몇번
That's right
The 3 years were so short yet so long, many things happened and I tend to remember many memories because it’s time to leave
Traces like bank statements and credit cards
We got closer to each other because the house was small
Fight right here, we hit each other a few times
Maybe that’s why I have so much love and hate now but now it will be swept away like dust
There’s more stuff than in the beginning, I myself have more things
I’ll take my pride and I’ll look at a bigger world and a bigger dream
A new start, a new beginning
A time of anticipation of how we’ll decorate the new place
Move the boxes, get the location, swipe the dust
When we’re done let’s grab a jjajangmyun for hard work, that’s right

For the first time in my life in my mother’s womb
I counted the days until my first move
A vague memory, the cost of my move was the machine in my mom’s heart and a big scar
In 2010 winter in Daegu, the immature me measured the size of this world
The price for moving into a “commercial” house was getting sweared at for wanting to follow money
Moving left me many things like this and both good or bad, it changed many things in my life
My life is paid monthly, I barely hang on too, you know?
The deposit money is my pride and I live risking everything
That’s why I want to move again
I’m planning on setting a dream beyond “idol”
When would be a good day to move this time, I hope it’s soon

Everyone's afraid of changes
Staying, moving on, staying, moving on
We keep repeating the same things again and again
I guess that's life, I'm afraid
Old or new, new or old, that isn't really important
What's important is, that we still breathe and live in the same place
So let's move on
