I’ve got my copy of Exlibrium (the second life) vol.7 and oh my goodness, alternative covers in the ‘additional materials’ section make me go insane even though they’re, like, just sketches??? 

#I still have that shot of beaten up Inga lying on the floor with her hair spread and ink leaking from her eye #it made FEEL THINGS ARGHHH #I was also captivated by the alternative covers of chapter 30 where Nightingale tries to pull Sasha from the shadows #it's so tense! #although... I expected more additional materials but I guess I was too spoiled by the early volumes of exlibrium :D #I'm still terrified of what will happen next though. oh my god, when I saw the titles of baccano vol 8-10, I was like "lol hope it's an alcatraz arc".... it actually is an alcatraz arc that's so fucking funny

#one of my favorite things about baccano is when they reference real life shit from the 20s/30s #it is equal parts jarring and funny whenever they bring up lucky luciano and al capone #like sometimes they talk about them as if theyre just another character and they could show up at any moment #jess reads #also just looking at the cover of volume 8 are firo and isaac in prison im gonna lose it

yes they are!! it's a shame that 29 was so mediocre but 30 and 31 are absolutely gorgeous, i had my heart in my throat when i saw the full cover for 31. to me sugimoto's side alone is just nice (despite being recycled artwork) but asirpa really makes it so beautiful and atmospheric and melancholy and happy. the two of them deserve the world... gk really is an incredible manga and noda is such a talented artist and storyteller. i will miss it for the rest of my life

#the way sugimoto has 4 covers and then only asirpa and tsurumi have 3 🥰 horse being on the same wavelength as a main character... #he really is so special. and 30 is the absolutely best cover for me it's beautiful and NOBODY else has similar visuals only him #but 31 really is beautiful and fitting for the last volume.. i'm glad it's sugimoto and asirpa. it was obvious it's gonna be them but still #anon
