Confession #169
"I'm glad Seven and Chakotay broke up after Voyager. They work much better as friends."

I feel like voyager would be so much cooler if Janeway had to keep some borg-tech. Like, I get how they got "borg immunizations" but come on, visibly ex-borg Janeway would have been such a cool angle to explore!

The most CRIMINAL part of Voyager season 6 is that THIS MAN RIGHT HERE is the only member of his species we EVER get to see! I want like 68 of him!! Give me his planet, his culture, his everything. I want to know everything about this species.

John: "I could make you scream."
Jamie: "I think not."
John: comes up out of the water looking like Medusa.
Jamie: screams
John: "I didn't mean like that! "

I have no idea if anyone still goes here but I'm rewatching Voyager and no shade on Kes but even in season 2 when Tom is being open about his crush on Kes the chemistry with B'Elanna is so obvious and the 2 of them are so much fun to watch together

Lower Decks writers had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and they took it.

I was just re-watching Star Trek Voyager Endgame and I realized that Admiral Janeway going back into the past and creating a whole new timeline to save Tuvok, Chakotay, and Seven she essentially traded Icheb's life for all of their lives due to the events of Star Trek Picard…
I mean she didn't know but still. Lol.
No judgment, just a thought.

Alright animation fans, this is the big test.
On Christmas Day Star Trek Prodigy season 1 will be released on Netflix. This is a new 3D animated young adult animated series that was removed from Paramount+ as a tax write off, and was only saved through an amazing grass roots campaign by fans to be picked up by Netflix so that it’s second season could be aired.
If you like serialized storytelling in kids shows, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like Star Trek, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you know absolutely nothing about Star Trek, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like The Owl House, Gravity Falls, Avatar the Last Airbender, or Legend of Korra, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you’re angry at studios cancelling animated shows prematurely or treating kids animation like trash, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you couldn’t afford a Paramount+ account but have a Netflix account, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like episodic content with a serialized story, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you have kids and want them to get into Star Trek but don’t know where to start, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
If you like sci-fi, watch Star Trek Prodigy
If you like colorful characters, gorgeous animation, a serious storyline with lots of character growth and high stakes, watch Star Trek Prodigy.
This show has been neglected by Paramount+ and it’s gotten a rare second chance. The first month a show is released on Netflix is the most crucial time of all because the viewership will determine its fate going forward. A second season has already been finished (it was nearly completed when Paramount cancelled it), but if we want to see more beyond this season we need Netflix to see that we care about it and that their risk in picking up the show is warranted.
Please. Help us save this show. It’s SO GOOD, and it was treated like garbage by Paramount+. Help us stick it to Paramount and show everyone what a great show this actually is. Help us make Paramount regret their decision. Help kids animation continue to thrive and show it’s worth! Help bring in more people into the Star Trek fandom! Help us now! Please!

I am captain, and I must not leave my ship. But I shall baffle this fiend or monster, for I shall tie my hands to the wheel when my strength begins to fail, and along with them I shall tie that which He, It, dare not touch. And then, come good wind or foul, I shall save my soul, and my honour as a captain. I am growing weaker, and the night is coming on.

I love Janeway in Star Trek Picard: Firewall. I’m glad that David Mack got Janeway. I was afraid, honestly that he wouldn’t. I shouldn’t have, he’s a consultant on Star Trek Prodigy and he’s not Peter David who killed Janeway so ignobly in his novel.
Anyway, this part is so great:
Tumblr media
”I’m better than clever, Director— I’m famous. I know for a fact the shine hasn’t yet worn off my celebrity as Voyager’s captain. And if you think I won’t stoop to manipulating public opinion to tie your hands and make you look like a petty villain… think again.”
I. Love. Her.
Janeway would drop everything, cross every mountain, destroy any timeline for her crew but especially for three people. But most of all, it's because Janeway also knows how to play politics and is highly aware of her place in Starfleet.
Seriously, if Janeway doesn’t end as Commander in Chief of all Starfleet, what’re we even doing here!

Imagine watching Voyager in the 90's and someone from the future pops up to tell you Seven of Nine ends up captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-G and also that she's gay and gets to dress like a regular person.
Oh and she once went on a revenge killing spree after her son Ichab is harvested for Borg components, left for dead and she had to put him out of his misery. And the woman who had him harvested was Seven's ex.
Oh oh and they use her human name as a deadnaming allegory. But then you probably have to explain deadnaming cos it's 1998 or whatever.
Canon Star Trek in 2023 is wilder than the maddest of fanfics.

I kinda feel like the concept of "a new galaxy" in ahsoka is wasted
We don't do anything with it, we don't go the Voyager route, we haven't spent a season exploring, searching, and learning about this new different never seen before part of the universe, we are immediately on exactly the right planet where Ezra and thrawn are (this show is kinda rushed), we didn't even stop somewhere to find our bearings or discover a clue to lead us in the right direction, we just go in a straight line from the gffa to precisely the place we need to be to find Ezra and thrawn
Like, at this point, why did it have to be a new galaxy? Why couldn't it be a planet in the unknown regions or the most far out reaches of the gffa?
