Biden age discourse is extremely funny because he is too old to run again. His odds-of-death during his next term would be ludicrously high, and while that isn't some disaster or anything no one wants that, you want to vote for a single candidate who isn't going to have a death transition to deal with. This is completely objective, its obviously true, and not really debatable.

And then you have a ton of people just...trying to pretend it isn't? Because Biden screwed up by deciding to run again, and screwed up by choosing an unpopular VP, so she isn't a great option either. But you cant say that, right? "Well hes an idiot but we aren't gonna primary him because that is also stupid, so what ya gonna do". So instead you get people trying to argue 'voters don't care about his age' (they do, a ton) or 'its really more about the team' (not 100% false but who is president does actually matter and they know this) or other silly ideas. Its a completely fake debate as only politics and the internet provide, there is not actually another side. Just people whose job it is to pretend there is another side because they don't have a choice.

I do love jeryd being the dominant and manipulative one in romencken. I do I love it. but really I think people should reassess when jeryd said "this monkey don't dance" and then he proceeds to be talked into performing for logan. by roman, nonetheless - the most pathetic roy sibling, even compared to connor. roman was very much the carrot and Logan was the stick. once Logan died though, roman and mencken were on much more level ground. but I need to note that jeryd was the one to call roman after the vote was called, not the other way around.

the thing about f*scists and the *lt-right is that they all think they're the leaders and forethinkers of their movement and that everyone else is a sheep, but once someone even seemingly a step above them in the hierarchy comes around, they kowtow in a matter of moments. and their brains do this funny rationalizing thing, convincing themselves that they made the decision to do as they're told as a sign of independent thinking and that they're just so big and strong and very generous to dance for someone they think is their lesser.

jeryd seeks out roman in virginia and gives us the most obvious pick-me performance. jeryd grabs the coke because roman told him the VP wouldn't, so jeryd's brain goes "ah yes it was my own idea to act in deference to a man I've only barely just met whom I know to be richer than God and damn near as influential. I have the Roy family right where I want them."

now, jeryd wants a face-to-face with roman who shows up vaguely annoyed like some business executive who was in a meeting when his cringefail sugarbaby calls him to complain about losing a facebook debate. and jeryd is immediately placating. "just wanted to say a couple things... very directly" all soft-like when he brings roman over for a more private discussion to roll over and show his belly in secret. and then he proceeds to tell roman his plan to essentially refuse concession if he loses. he basically says he'll promise to throw a tempertantrum, just in not so many words. he just makes sure they both know this dancing will be for both of their benefit.

this is of no real, tangible use to ATN in regards to the gojo deal (which is the main focus) but could be useful in keeping roman in a position of influence within the company should things go tits up. it's the "I'll make it up to you. I promise."

roman learned these tactics from gerri - how to manipulate an overblown ego, as it were. what is a f*scist if not a slime puppy, huh? but just like gerri put a monster in power, it's now roman's turn, albeit with a much more radical man.

Here’s part two. Maybe the next part will be the angsty part

Can you imagine President Soot announcing the elections and learning that the reader immediately enrolled as a candidate. He’d be annoyed, but also a strange mixture of proud and exhilarated.

This is another enemies AND lovers moment y’all. (want to hc that someone actually suggested impeachment or a vote of no-confidence against President Wilbur a couple times– which the reader actually refused to do, marking the one and only time that they defended wilbur on the political stage, saying that government should be run through debate and consideration and not mindless evictions, yada yada. Wilbur was looking at them like 😳).

Anyway the day comes for the candidates to choose their running mates— I don't remember how that went down in canon, so I'll make some stuff up. Let’s assume that each candidate gives a short speech and then announces their future VP. It’s like a publicity stunt, getting their names out there for people to remember and hopefully vote for.

There’s this one guy in L’manburg, let’s just call him Archibald or something (old man, dude in his 40s), who vehemently opposes everything the reader does. He doesn’t like Wilbur either

Despite all of this, A r c h i b a l d is not a complete prick. He cares for L’Manburg in his own way, even if his tactics and views don’t align with his peers. He amassed quite a following, but wasn’t chosen as a political candidate, and resorted to glaring at the other contestants from his place in the audience.

Back to the reader. Now, they know they are at an extreme disadvantage here. Public speaking is not their thing– shady, one-on-one contract deals are more their style. Talking to a crowd? Forget about it. They need to take a gamble.

Wilbur chooses Tommy as his VP, Quacktiy chooses George, Fundy chooses Niki, and they choose…. Archibald.

The stadium goes silent, flabbergasted, as they announce their pick. Some of the reader’s close constituents look offended, and Archibald looks flabbergasted. But he isn’t going to pass up this opportunity– not yet at least. He shakes their hand and joins them on stage.

By drawing a truce with their worst political enemy and showing the citizens that they are willing to work with opposing ideals, the reader has pulled what we call a pro gamer move.

Wilbur is a little impressed? Maybe?

Just imagine him standing on the other end of the stage, elbows on the podium, head resting against his fist as he just grins.

Imagine his vaguely flirty behavior with Quackity, but doubled.

Man knows how to roll an insult, pick-up-line, and partially-backhanded/partially-genuine compliment into one.

Still too cocky to think he’ll lose the elections though.

I swear i had other ideas about this but they won't come to me.

Also: no romance/jealousy scene is implied with Archibald. he's just some old guy politician who becomes a coworker.

also also: completely (?) unrelated but IMAGINE BEING PRESIDENT SOOT'S TAILOR. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE TENSION THAT COMES WITH STANDING BEHIND SOMEONE AS YOU LOOP A MEASURING TAPE AROUND THEIR WAIST---

the idea of tommy as his vp in this scenario seems to funny to me bc of the clips where tntduo would be havijg an intense discussion and tommy would just go. “ARE U GUYS KISSING” because he’d definitely do that

post debates, coming off stage, both a little sweaty and worked up from nerves, and wilbur’s just standing there looking too hot for his own good, so the reader picks something absolutely stupid to just fucking yell at him about, and they’re getting in each other’s faces, literally lips seconds apart, arguing in fancy political and business terms, and then tommy turns the corner. pauses.

“wilbuh can you stop MAKING OUT with the ENEMY”

also love the pro gamer move on readers part. thats actually a genuinely smart political show (until it becomes time to pass legislation but theres a reason they changed the law about who the VP ends up being (thanks hamilton))

also I HAVE THOUGHT ABT THAT MANY TIMES MAN OH MY GOD

he’s standing there, stressed and tired, and theres a lot of tension as you wrap your arms around him to measure his waist and in his exhaustion, he thinks you’re trying to hug him, and he just. fully leans into it, exhausted and wanting affection <3 and as his personal tailor, you will gladly do so and then help walk him to his room to make sure he sleeps well (and doesnt get any of his fancy clothes that you just made messed up ffs he loves gis gunpowder but that shit stain’s permanently!!!! hold on. my knowledge of gunpowder just gave me a separate idea but i dont have enough there to share yet so im going to ignore it BUT STILL)

A KAKAMPINK'S REALIZATIONS

March 12, 2022

Never thought I would be invested on this elections when I purposely tried being silent during the campaign period. I only watched debates and followed them a bit on social media when we're a month away from the elections but still, I became invested. I'm one of those who felt so emotional and tears up when the results are just coming in.

It's not that I'm ungrateful for what we have in our country but it's the HOPE I saw in the eyes of passionate kakampinks rooting for VP Leni Robredo. She painted a picture of what our country could be when she's elected as the president.

As a Christian who just became spiritually alive recently, the results really dismayed me. I thought my faith was strong enough but turns out, I just never experienced and felt something this extreme to become disappointed. Maybe because it's not only my future that depends on it but the FUTURE OF THOSE IN NEED. (Yung mga nasa laylayan na nga ika nga.) The Angat Buhay Project is really great since it's like a positive 'Sana All' for every Filipino.

Because of this experience, I had the chance to reassess my character. I admit, I slightly let my emotions get the best of me at first. The SCORPIO in me literally went out AGAIN. I planned on holding a grudge to those I knew who voted for the leading candidate. I even unfriended a lot of my relatives. I don't really care because I don't actually use Facebook often and share something so I doubt if they will notice it. Maybe they will. I don't even plan on going to family events as much as before too. If they had the chance to confront me about it, I'll just simply make an excuse like really? I have no idea because I don't use facebook much since I'm busy. Lol.

The closest apologist from my family is my older sister. The middle child since I'm the youngest. We're a family of five and the rest, we're proudly kakampinks. She's married and her husband is also an apologist. We had to hide our disappointment during their stay in our house since my sister went home in our province just to vote. I'm really sad and angry on the inside because I look up to her but she disregards all the red flags on her candidate. I tried being distant to her and make excuses but then she treated us on a family dinner. It's bittersweet because I was reminded that she's the one spending on my school allowance as well. They left and that's the time we have a family talk of kakampinks expressing our dismay and anger. It's funny how we're the ones who stayed silent when it's our home at all. My parents are civil to them and I'm actually the only one who had to put an effort and fake it. Over time, I guess my hatred will fade but I'll never forget everyone who supports questionable candidates. That's for sure. Anyway, it's a relief finally talking to my dad, mom, and oldest sister who shares the same sentiments like mine. It's comforting to know that atleast, we got each other. Just sad about the only one who isn't and building her own family already. I don't wanna imagine how difficult it must be for those with majority family members as an apologist in a household. If you are, stay hopeful. You're not entirely alone.

HERE'S A POST THAT COMFORTED ME THIS MORNING BT DUBS!

As I've said, I had a difficult time processing what's happening in our country.

It came to a point when I felt my faith in God is slightly fading. I know everything has a reason and He has a PLAN for us. It's always God's will that's gonna happen. I think it's easier for me to accept the hardships I personally face but imagining those people who suffered in the past and potential people who's gonna suffer in this term is just too much for me. Even if doubts are starting to drown me, I still kept praying. I know about He's will. That He planned this. It's just one of those hard to accept situations that's testing us but I'll get pass this. As always.

So I prayed, with a heavy heart and sometimes as I teared up...

I ask for forgiveness for not completely accepting and trying to understand what's happening. I also ask for His patience on me. Because I feel like I failed Him too since I thought my relationship with Him is deep enough. But I guess it's not. I know He's the most patient and merciful God so I feel at ease too. I know I'll overcome this emotions. Besides, it's written a lot of times in the Bible that it's okay to tell Him our feelings, our desires, our cries. To share our burden with Him. With that in mind, I know this unfamiliar feelings of mine relating to politics are VALID and NATURAL.

SUMMARY OF WHAT I REALIZED THIS ELECTION WEEK:

1. I'm gratefully privileged and I care a lot too for the common good of people and our country.

2. I need to improve my character even more and manage how I react to things I can and can't control. It's always the reaction that I have the control not the situation.

3. The journalist in me is blazing again. It's good to write about things that really matter and I should continue it more consistently.

4. I should trust God's plan even more, even on national/global matters as well.

5. This is a time of realization. I really hope people who voted for the leading candidate learns too and stop being so blinded.

In conclusion, Bishop Rey has a point. Maybe God never really meant for Leni to win. Her mission was to waken us up. Because SHE REALLY DID. She won the hearts of people.

🎵Song of the Day: When You Were Young----The Killers

Its 8 o’ clock and I’ve been taking it easy all day. I still have not washed my bedsheets. But I did go driving yesterday. I went and picked up my transcripts and handed it to my college. The next step is to register for next semester’s classes. At my old high school a teacher who I fucking hated (story for another day) tried to have a whole ass conversation with me in the parking lot and I just smiled and nodded. I plucked my eyebrows. I get compliments on my eyebrows’ shape all the time, but that’s because I’m so diligent with them. My right eyebrow is pissing me off. It’s all wonky and shit. I’m sure I’m the only one who cares but it still bothers me.

I had fun with Sophia. We went to Fire house subs and then to the amc. Before that we went to Target. I never go to Target anymore. I got some lighters for my candles, some more charcoal toothbrushes, and encouraged Sophia to get some (she comments on my teeth being really white), some cartilage rings and the actual summers eve brand, whenever I ask my mom for some she gets the offbrand kind because its ‘cheaper’. There wasn’t much good playing at the amc because there never is. I told Sophia we wouldn’t have to buy tickets in advance because it won’t be crowded. Nobody goes and sees movies anymore, for many reasons. We went to see Violent Night. I knew it wouldn’t be that good. We were kind of debating seeing ‘A Strange World’ or whatever that movie is called because apparently its really woke and we wanted to just make fun of it. (shes the only friend I’d be able to do that with). I reallyy wanted to see Black Adam. I’m a huge dc fan and I saw a clip of that one scene playing ‘Paint it Black’ (love that song)

Violent Night was good to see as a Christmas movie, but it was not a good movie. At least we didn’t give any money to disney. Sophia only bought one ticket so we could just find which theatre was playing it and I snuck in with the small popcorn she wanted. It was funny because when we went in there was a couple our age sitting in the back, clearly pissed that we were there. Sophia hated the movie and I said “I told youuu”. She insisted we see it. We kept looking backwards to see if the couple was doing anything lmao

I didn’t go jogging this morning like I did yesterday morning. Let me jog tomorrow morning.

Its been like 40-50 degrees consistently the last three days, accompanied by rain. If you don’t think thats bad youre fucking delusional. Its been cold as shit.

So a little update on the bus biting situation at my old high school. Apparently the vp didn’t get into any trouble (i know shocking). He didn’t do anything wrong. Ofc everyone is still trying to make it a race issue. My old high school has always been like this. Filled with mindless fucking animals. I’ve witnessed everything there. I personally filmed a video of a girl getting her shit rocked by a guy twice her size. I still have it deep in my camera roll along with a bunch of other fight videos. I got into two fights myself. Ofc with other girls. My freshman year this nasty weird girl in my fake friend group gave a dude head behind the staircase. Someone recorded it and started spreading it. It took a while to actually get out. Because I remember her confiding in us about it. I wasn’t really close with her (she would occasionally try to talk to me before it happened and I was always nice because thats who I am). I remember after it got out and around lunch time everyone was staring at her and at us by extension. I got to tell all the classes all the juicy details because I knew all about it.

Anyway let me stop talking about my nasty old high school. I’m going to get ready for bed. Tomorrow I want to go jogging, FINALLY put up my Christmas tree, and register for spring classes. Let’s manifest it.
