As far as me having heard Scottish accents… the rs sound a bit rolled, so I was assuming they come from the middle-to-front area of the tounge? I’m not Scottish though so I could be wrong

I phrased it a little weird, American/Canadian Rs don’t necessarily come from the back of the mouth and more from the back of the tongue, it’s really bunched up in there compared to, say, Russian (only other language I can sort of speak) where the R noise is made with a more… taut? I guess? Tongue where the front touches the roof of the mouth

Again I’m not scottish so I could be wrong about where your tongue goes when you say R

I think it might vary, bc there isn't any one scottish accent exactly, I know some people tend to roll their Rs but I never really do bc my tongue just isn't in the right position bc, like I said, it's coming from the back
